King of the Monsters. Skull Island is probably a better made movie but I just don't care that much about King Kong, I've always liked Godzilla more.
2014 and GvK were both ridiculous.
>2014
>ridiculous
kys
>godzilla movie
>godzilla is only in it for about 30 seconds and is barely visible anyway
You're ridiculous.
>30 seconds
Frick off you lying homosexual.
>hurrr big lizzurd didnt fight in movie that tried to tell da story
go frick yourself, simpleton pants-shitting moron.
2014 barely has a story. It's a generic Godzilla movie but with less Godzilla than normal.
You have no real opinions and it's evident you have sought no means of realizing your mind' potential. Be a waste on a different site
>you have sought no means of realizing your mind' potential
Saying this while defending a braindead Hollywood CGI fest is funny. You're not realizing your mind's potential either kek.
a godzilla movie severely lacking godzilla scenes is a legit criticism, the only movies where that doesnt matter is Shin Godzilla and the original and in Shin's case the godzilla scenes are still the highest points
>and the original
That's not an issue in the original though, it shows Godzilla a lot. They didn't have to hide shoddy CGI by limited your view of him.
-1 too, even if i dont believe the relationship between Noriko and Shikishima is handled all that well done, and yes some of the mannerisms of the female chatacters is awkward (must be yamazaki's quirks), but the stuff with the main group of buddies and the navy veterans was well done.
Also why Godzilla's screentime is around the same as usual, its well distruibuited for the most part.
>moron who pretends to like Godzilla has no idea Godzilla was barely in his original movie
Typical of you bandwagon jumping anime spastics
Essentially this, though ridiculous is not the right word.
I actually really liked KoTM (aside from muh family shit) and was surprised to find out it was so hated.
Kong was just forgettable, Godzilla & Godzilla v Kong were just shit
I don’t remember a ton about these movies, but I feel like when I watched them I liked KotM the most. King Ghidorah is just too cool
obvious answer: none of them. I would rather die of boredom in an isolated island than watch any of this shittyness.
look at this loser, no matter how poorly made the movie is always fun to watch giant monsters come on screen and destroy cities and each other
KSI
Rewatched them as a part of me going through all 36 godzilla movies or whatever. Half of them for the first time. Theyre all pretty vapid but have good and bad elements.
KOTM is the best at being a Godzilla movie even besides the fact it has other Toho monsters.
Skull Island works the best as an actual blockbuster.
2014 does a good attempt at making an American grounded kaiju attempt.
GvK delivers on it's title
>Skull Island works the best as an actual blockbuster
Can you elaborate on this please? What does it mean exactly for a movie to be good or bad blockbuster?
All the Monsterverse titles try to be big action movies even with its human characters. Which isn't true for all the japanese movies.
Its hard to say its has the best plot or filmmaking since its not that great either, but it works the best a big action adventure movie as far the human side goes.
Skull Island if only for the bombing scene.
2014 and King of the Monsters both had great trailers though.
Do you honestly believe Trailers selling you the movies tone, even the Flash 2nd trailer made it look half decent, THE FRICKING FLUSH PEOPLE, FRICKING FLUSH.
Is the 2nd Godzilla movie any good? As in Godzilla Strikes Back? I watched the original recently and enjoyed it for what it was
Whoops, my bad. It’s actually called Godzilla Raids Again
I think Raids Again is good. Not as good as the original but the story is solid and the fights with Angurius are fun
I enjoyed it, but it's divisive. I loved the original and thought Raids Again was a pretty good followup, but it's not as amazing as the original and the pacing struggles a little in the second half.
Worth a watch imo
In your opinion what’s the best Godzilla after the original one but not counting the monsterverse, minus one, or shin?
Either Mothra vs Godzilla (the 1964 one) or Ghidorah, the Three Headed Monster.
My answer would've been the same if those others were included.
That's tough, they kind of all fulfill certain niches IMO
>2014 for all its faults is a solid and suspenseful movie that makes the kaiju feel mysterious and immense
>skull island is fun as frick and way more enjoyable than it really has any business being
>KotM feels like the most earnest attempt at a showa godzilla film
>GvK is turn your brain off fun
>KotM feels like the most earnest attempt at a showa godzilla film
Even this poster it shows for it on my Plex server looks like a Showa poster. I always thought that was really neat
I would bet money that were honda or tsubaraya alive, they'd have loved it
Skull Island
Only genuinely good movie. It's actually so good it makes up for Brie Larson being in it
Whatever costume designer came up with the idea to give Brie a satchel with a strap situated just so that it would accentuate her breasts, thereby making her bearable, should've won an Academy Award.
As a fat frick I’m always self conscious of driving with a seatbelt on if I have passengers with me because of this.
I just remembered there’s a tv show with Ders in it. Is it any good or just minorities/gay people talking with 1 minute of kaiju per episode?
Skull Island is the best movie overall, but I'm tempted to say King of the Monsters or Godzilla vs Kong because I'm more of a Goji fan.
Hoping the next one is the best so I can choose a movie with both Goji and Kong in it.
if youve seen the trailer for the new one youd know its competing for last place among the legendary films
It already looks better than 2014 so there's no way it will be the worst.
If Wingard ramped up the insanity from GvK then it could end up as the most entertaining. I want the movies to go full Godzilla vs King Ghidorah.
The movie is all about King Kong it’s one hundred percent worse than 2014 already.
> they turned Godzilla bright pink
Frick off
I'll take a movie with King Kong and Godzilla over 2014 which barely even had Godzilla. King Kong has been one of Goji's rivals since the beginning.
The new movie is all about King Kong and the other giant apes. They even added a baby King Kong.
>We want a Planet of the Apes audience!
Awesome, can't wait to see Goji and Kong kick some ape ass.
>They even added a baby King Kong.
Based Son of Kong, now we need Monsterverse Minilla.
Adding more ape donut steels instead of more Godzilla.
> you want more manilla
I don’t think you are a Godzilla fan. You’re a King Kong fan.
>Adding more ape donut steels instead of more Godzilla.
Godzilla is already in the movie, and there's another lizard kaiju in the movie too. You see it briefly in the trailer.
>you want more manilla
Yes, Minilla is a legend. He killed Ghidorah.
>I don’t think you are a Godzilla fan. You’re a King Kong fan.
I'm a fan of both. Godzilla was inspired by King Kong and their third movie was a crossover together. I'd be out of luck if I disliked one of them.
Every new movie in the monsterverse King Kong gets more upgrades. By movie 10 he looks like Optimus Primal
He's gonna transform into Mechani-Kong.
godzilla vs kong was great
t. homosexual
Yeah it was a fun flick. It was great to see Goji and Kong finally reunited.
I’ve never heard my dad complain about any cgi in any movie but when we watched that together he said “this looks like a damn video game” and I agree with him
King of Monsters was legitness.
KOTM
So is Minus One just never gonna be streaming anywhere ever
None, ill stick with Shin and -1
As bad as these movies may or may not be, they're the reason we got Shin and Minus One. For that, I can never hate the Monsterverse.
King of the Monsters or Godzilla vs Kong.
I like them all but KotM is the most entertaining one to me.
I would listen to what they have to say. And that's what no one did.
King of the Monsters easily. Ghidorah and Rodan never looked so good and it even culminates in a 4 way monster battle. Feels like one of the old multi monster godzillas but finally with good enough special effects to look like what I dreamed about as a kid. I dont give a damn if theres bad jokes in it you have to be autistic to hyper focus on those details
KotM had other issues aside from the Marvel style written characters, they couldnt make their minds sometimes and some of the dialogue is just dumb and hockey, also either censor a FRICK and SHIT or you dont, DONT DO BOTH (the Ghidorah scene in the stadium), also the darkness.
I recently rewatched all of these. Godzilla is the most complete movie for me. I actually care about the human characters too, which is a big part of it.
The scene where they jump out of the plane is amazing and there are some other really cool monster scenes.
KotM I usually skip to all of the monsters, especially the Rodan part.
Skull Island is solid too.
VS is the weakest and even the fights aren't that fun to me.
The hype for the first movie was off the charts. Anon couldn't stop posting about it on Cinemaphile. The comic con trailer with the Oppenheimer audio...the "halo drop" trailer. It was all so amazing. I liked the movie, some didn't. And as much as I liked the first movie...and as much as I love gorilla, Kong: Skull Island was a better movie.
GKotM was garbage (except for Rodan).
GvK was meh.
2014's problem isn't Godzilla's screen time, it's that the story ignores Godzilla and focuses on MUTO.
KOTM because 2014 and GvK are both worse and I don't care about Kong.
