That's kind of the thing. I can't think of many fictional worlds, animated or otherwise, that I would like to be in, because it would either end up just being sort of mundane but interesting looking that I would probably end up doing the same stuff that I'm doing right now, or a hellscape where you're constantly in fear of being killed by something, or caught up in some greater conflict that has nothing to do with you, and you have no control over. What else is there beyond "what settings have the characters that I would like to bang"?

I've always had a special affinity for the Roger Rabbit kinds of worlds. Where humans and toons coexist. I also like the potential idea of toons having different cultures that stem from their different reactions to things like pain and discomfort. They don't process trauma the same way as humans so they don't feel the need to have the same kinds of rights as humans do. So they sit in a weird spot between being domesticated animals and civilians. Not quite slaves but also pretty much objectified and that's seen as a wildly accepted thing. Most toons don't even mind it much.
I also want the world to have all different kinds of toons, separated by art style and decade inspiration and each type/genre is treated like their own breed or race. There is often interest in finding rare combinations of genres, or old ones that are going out of style.
Also the main reason why they can't just be considered domesticated, even by the companies that exploit them for entertainment, is because they are famously hard to catch. Toon magic is just not something that humans can really handle, even if you were to introduce something like Dip or another toon killing device. If you try to capture a toon and force them to do your bidding, if they really don't want to they will just escape. And probably mess with you
