They could shut off your kinos at any time and although you still own the library it's a huge inconvenience plus they can legally sell you out to the authorities because using Plex for pirated content is against their policy. I pay for a VPS mainly because my home connection sucks and I don't want to leave my PC on all the time. I run rtorrent, Radarr, Sonarr and Jellyfin on it so I can watch kinos anywhere, plus other services I use to sync my files, passwords, backups, etc. as well as a web server, my own VPN and a bunch of other shit. It's out of the country so no ISP letters and no VPN required.
If you're technically inclined I highly recommend this approach, cheap VPS can be found periodically on lowendbox.com
