You know for years I thought this was Captain Hydra America talking.

America was founded on the principle of yelling your argument and not letting any form of debate happen against it.

    >America was founded on the principle of yelling your argument and not letting any form of debate happen against it.
No, clown. That's the last few generations and the shit country people who think like that turned America into.
America was founded when a few great minds came together and sought to create something greater than themselves, a new nation where man was good to his neighbor and all could thrive.

But it's fricking ruined. It's all just fricking ruined. America truly used to be great, but the people saying they want to make it great again can't even comprehend why it was great to begin with. Frick this gay world to hell.

Obviously it wasn't perfect but doing away with slavery was about the only improvement on America then compared to now, in almost all other ways it has massively declined.

Why do morons point this out as if it was some kind of gotcha? It was still an evil practice that people fought against back then, abolitionists arent a new modern concept.

literally every empire that ever existed used slaves, African nations being the most brutal of them all. Eurotrash will try to absolve themselves of their role in this bullshit but the fundamental fact is that slavery ended less than 100 years into America's existence as a nation. We had major civil rights movements that culminated in the late 60s and an African American president 232 years into the nation's history. The fact is that the level social progressivism of the USA has never been seen anywhere else in the world.
Until the Nixon administration we were Rome 2 but somehow even better than that.

Oh but they are, anon, they just use slaves in a more colonial sense. Not a single imperial power has existed without the use of slaves at one point in time and not a single imperial power besides America was able to successfully do away with the system within 100 years of its' existence.

The US wasn't even a real country yet and the war still ended as a draw. If you look at things long term it basically broke the British occupational capabilities in that region going forward.

Canada still existed and was still British and the British were dealing with Napoleon at the time which is how the war got started not to mention the White House got burned down. And I want an exactly call not being a real country when your country is 25 years old.Not to mention that United States fought they would take over Canada.

Slavery wasn't a thing in every country at the exact same time not to mention by the time slavery was ended in the United States it was a hell of a lot less common in many parts of the world than when the United States began.I mean Wolverines of Veteran of the civil war because of I don't like slavery that Mr Mutant Canadian.

Did the country start off perfect? No. But it was continually getting better for generations. It's only recently that it's started to slide backwards, no more progress, rights being taken away, clown rhetoric replacing logic and reason.
Bear in mind that while America has those shameful points in history, it was also proud Americans who stood up and did was right and made changes toward progress. It was Americans who fought to end slavery, it was Americans who fought for workers' rights, it was Americans who stood for women, it was those Americans who truly believed in liberty and juice for all and transformed America into the greatest nation in the history of the world.

It's okay to like Captain America as a character even if you can lay down an entire bible's worth of grievances against the United States, and it's okay to acknowledge that the US can, and has, generally speaking with some distinct notable exceptions, gotten better over time and learned some hard lessons.

He's talking to Spider-Man during his usual pity party. Again, Cinemaphile never cares for context and likes to come up with their own narrative to push.

Contacts are not what Captain America is saying in the image sounds way more like belief in fascism than any form of democracy. I know it's from Civil War the original one but if someone's justification for the actions is they're making a speech like this that's got to make you worry.

        Anonymous

If you totally neglect the context of his entire speech, the person he's quoting, general ideas on what true democracy is....yeah...sure totally fascist. Democracy means cowtowing to mob rule no matter what, letting people get locked up in an extrajudicial prison without a trial for unclear offenses is what Democracy is all about, and if you don't like it your a heckin' nazerino.

OP is using the standard "use an out of context panel as cover for shitflinging about real world politics or whatever else he wants to vent about" strategy. Most messages can be twisted to be positive or negative or fit whatever narrative.

In that case, now's a good time to give that context and let others come to their own conclusion. Only 6 pages.
