You know how shit like Identity Crisis and Civil War are painfully 2000s? This shit is painfully early 2010s.

Cinemaphile going crazy for this book is such a dark chapter in this boards history, right up there with "that 2" and "that 3".

Nah you just don't like it because it's become a mainstream book to like now. It has nothing to do with its quality Cinemaphile is just too wrapped up in culture war/contrarianism.

Its the same thing with this board turning on Immortal Hulk lately

I fricking hate this style of writing.
Bendis, Slott, King, Fraction, Taylor, Adams, and BKV can all go frick each other.

No, this is a bad book with great art. Great art is enough for some.

Agreed. Also the Xemnu story in Marvel Premier #3 is better.

No, this book shone like a gem against the backdrop of Bendis' Avengers, Gage X-Men, AvX, Loeb Wolverine, all the New 52 dogshit, etc.

I feel like the 2010s were when glorification of losers and slovenliness was at its height because they're "relatable" or something.

    It ruined Hawkeye.

    >muh Hawkguy
    >muh Pizzadog

Why did people pretend this was good? It made Clint into a a fricking loser who looks like a regular guy. Zub tried to bring back the suit and the mask, but Thompson put him back in the dumb sunglasses to make him the butt of jokes in her series.

I was trying so hard to tell people this was bad and no one would listen. So many ate that shit up.

Marvel was interested in memoryholing its own history so that the could push away any fans who would criticize this

It's only in recent years that you have younger fans actually reading old comics coming to the realization that 2000s and 2010s Marvel were excessively overrated

We got writers who thought it was so clever to have characters say what nitpicking casual readers are thinking. As if the characters no longer live in the universe. Catty meta humor up to 11. No one is asking to have the characters be so serious that it's no longer fun. Fun at least have them believe what they're facing is real and keep character consistent. Subversion and deconstructionism only appeals to casuals who have no appreciation of comics. Why do you think the only older comics in libraries are Watchmen, The Killing Joke, and Dark Knight Returns? MCU movies deconstruct and mock classic concepts too. Because they decided to that they would target their movies at normies and casuals. Not the fans, Why do you think so many MCU movies has a part that mocks the classic costume. Or gives the character a version of the classic costume that is made to look so bad that the viewers will agree that it shouldn't be adapted. When in actuality, those costumes could be made to look good in live action if they tried. But the people in charge don't care. And they want to mock the comics.
