The problem here is all the action portions are just imaginary in her mind. It takes all of the consequence out of any of the battles, because none of them are really taking place. It might as well have just been a cartoon sequence, they had no impact on the 'real' world she was facing.
I get that she was escaping into that fantasy, but it just bored me during those meaningless sequences.
