i don't know. i don't leave the house but according to people on here the average normalc**t is more cringey and socially moronic than even an autist nowadays.
I read a funny post on Cinemaphile from an anon who works on a fast food restaurant. His coworker said based, and he replied "based on what?" >no, you see, it's a meme. It's means, ughh...
Then he couldn't continue with the conversation
Do you ever think about how most modern internet memes are just people repeating the exact same thing without any context for why it was originally funny and laughing at themselves from being clever for repeating something they don't even understand?
Internet culture has sort of grown around the idea of being "the funny guy" as that's usually how your get your clout/five seconds of fame which lots of people want. And since there are so many people trying to be the funny guy, not only do jokes get worn out super fast by everyone jumping on them, people generally change how they interact with anything in order to communicate through these jokes and memes regardless of if they really make sense in the context (which itself is a joke, as it plays both into ironic usage and the unexpectedness of seeing something so inappropriately applied to something). But you can see how it impacts the way people talk, like in the variations of the OP comic. People don't have anything meaningful to say, but still want to say something and be funny, so they'll just repeat whatever the latest meme slang is. Majority of comments on social media platforms will be full of kids and teens replying like this to things.
Sometimes it gets really bizarre and a little disturbing when people start using jokey terminology when talking about something dead serious (e.g. saying "unalive" when talking about a murder or posting goku memes when talking about actual child molesters)
It feels like it's not possible to talk about anything seriously anymore without getting really flippant and annoying responses
>e.g. saying "unalive" when talking about a murder
You can blame the algorithm for this shit, YouTube now quite literally forces people to talk in newspeak when discussing serious topics like like murder, war or terrorism or be demonetised.
"repeating the exact same thing without any context for why it was originally funny and laughing at themselves from being clever for repeating something they don't even understand"?
>Sneed was originally used to try and derail discussion on Cinemaphile >Wojack was originally used to show a feeling on melancholy >Based was originally a term by a rapper to describe doing what you want without caring how others feel
You might be onto something
was originally a term by a rapper to describe doing what you want without caring how others feel
I don't believe this one. Far as I know Based came from that mspaint bear meme that har his dialogue written like he had a cold so best became based. "based game 5/5" and such. It evolved from there.
are you seriously so fricking new you don't know about lil b? has to be bait.

I don't follow or care about 99% of rappers. Desbite slumming around the internet since 2002 I never saw based used before 2010 and it was in the context I described.

The most recent one of these I've seen is "La creatura", which was originally used as a racist meme to describe mixed-race people as literal goblins, but I now regularly being used across the internet to refer to monsters. They even use the original "Dios Mio la creatura..." format and everything.

If you want the best example, it happened all the way back in 1999.
"Derp" was envisioned a term for an unfunny, lazy, predictable joke and the meme version just sorta turned it into exactly what it made fun of
This is why they run though jokes so fast. Jokes used to last a long time because they were only used when applicable and funny. Now memes are just made just for the sake of it until it gets old in a month.
The joke is about how too online people talk.
It's pretty obvious.
I'm sorry it's not a 2x2 panel that spells it out
Here I'll provide a wall of text to explain since you're so
One individual is recounting an experience they had visiting a friend. The person they're talking to comments, using modern internet slang to say the equivalent of "Oh, so you went to visit someone." The first individual clearly is not familiar with this slang and is confused with what is being said to them, while the second individual does not understand the firsts reaction. The joke is on dialect shift in communities that speak the same language where despite both speaking English, terminology can differ greatly
Art sucks and he's just one in another series of "extremely liberal content creator who makes incredibly basic statements but acts like they're the biggest genius in the world" and has nothing else of worth beyond it
I read that as "and we play videogames all day" and am disappointed your imagination isn't more weirdly wholesome. >tfw no offspring to call homosexuals and scrubs while they smoke me at CoD: Second Syrian War.
Pisses me off so hard, you go in the fricking park for quiteness and sounds of nature but then some fricking Indians or Russians turn up with their non-music. Have you heard Indian hip hop? Its a torture method. Not that Indians feel any torture considering they're used to India.
>Take the train frequently >There's always some minority blasting music or watching videos at full volume without headphones >Chimps out if someone (including the ticket inspector) tells him to turn it down
Must be purely economic factors
For me it's talking on speaker phone in crowds even though they have it right up next to their face anyways. It's like they cannot exist without the hooting of other apes in their ears.
Why is internet filled with these comics?
Why is twitter specifically full of these white blobs that have to represent x thing and issue
I keep seeing it especially in art communities when it's time to bich and moan as internet artists spend more time caring about something that doesn't/will never/ effect them plus they won't make an effect on alongside b***hing more than actual drawings.
Your mocking Simone for having a social life and having a friend, it’s like saying red pilled when mocking a republican. I get it but it’s overall kinda sad and not really funny.
Do zoomers really think that Millennials don't understand their humor, instead of just seeing zoomers as an entire generation of those spergy meme-spouting kids they used to make fun of?
Ghetto culture is an absolute plague on humanity. It's not just blacks, pretty much anyone and anyplace stricken with ghetto thug bullshit culture is held back by it.
>Be in a game with a chat >They write " :skull: " and simmilar shit just writing emogies in game chat
This is why when im interacting with Zoomers i just generaly assume they are mentaly deficient until proven otherwise.

The only time I ever heard of whatever this is, was when someone kept making threads with Regular Show impact font edits of that terminology. I see more of the "what is bro yapping about :skull: yapping level: critical" bullshit.
This is a joke right?

I kind of wonder which came first, quipfests inspired by Joss Whedon or Internet Culture full of people desperate to be the funny guy
Joss Whedon's work and fame coincided with the rise of the internet. It's like computers and nukes. They evolved with eachother.

was originally a term by a rapper to describe doing what you want without caring how others feel
I don't believe this one. Far as I know Based came from that mspaint bear meme that har his dialogue written like he had a cold so best became based. "based game 5/5" and such. It evolved from there.

no it originates from al qaeda which means "the base"
It came from Lil B "Thank you based God".
Wrong. Based as a slang term was first discovered in Saddam Hussein's basement. That's why the term is "based" because Saddam's Based(ment) is good.
The most recent one of these I've seen is "La creatura", which was originally used as a racist meme to describe mixed-race people as literal goblins, but I now regularly being used across the internet to refer to monsters. They even use the original "Dios Mio la creatura..." format and everything.
You just summed up the entire human experience moron.
>anon discovers the original definition of a meme
If you want the best example, it happened all the way back in 1999.
"Derp" was envisioned a term for an unfunny, lazy, predictable joke and the meme version just sorta turned it into exactly what it made fun of
I seriously wonder how many people who post "is this loss" even know what ctrl-alt-delete is.
I've noticed that a lot of zoomies think repeating shit ad nauseum is the funniest shit ever and run every funny joke into the ground within minutes.
This is why they run though jokes so fast. Jokes used to last a long time because they were only used when applicable and funny. Now memes are just made just for the sake of it until it gets old in a month.
op got it from Twitter so he probably knows since he uses it

The joke is that using internet lingo irl is pretty ridiculous.
I thought the joke was making fun of people who can't help but talk with internet memes all the time
Yeah, because they're ridiculous.
>ITT anon's discover the concept of being terminally online
why do twitter kids hate this guy so much?
Art sucks and he's just one in another series of "extremely liberal content creator who makes incredibly basic statements but acts like they're the biggest genius in the world" and has nothing else of worth beyond it
they don't like getting called out
ive seen a few of his strips go around and its a shame that the vibe/messages are really lame because hes really good at drawing funny memorable faces
like look at this, guess im just too old to think "multifandom" is something at all interesting to care about either way
>Be me
>Gen alpha
>My Dad talks like this
>My grandpa calls me and my Dad homosexuals and plays video games all day.
bold of you to assume any of the younger generations are having kids.
You can't be gen alpha
Could be. The oldest of Gen Alpha are just hitting their teens.
google says the youngest zoomers are 12 and the oldest are 27. generations are bullshit.
The oldest gen a is 14
That anon is getting banned
you wait
Well, how did he found out about this place? Did his dad and grandpa show him?
>Gen alpha
underageb&
homosexual!
I read that as "and we play videogames all day" and am disappointed your imagination isn't more weirdly wholesome.
>tfw no offspring to call homosexuals and scrubs while they smoke me at CoD: Second Syrian War.
For which I thank God every day.

where is it quiet in a big city to begin with?
one of the perks of being a neet is that I can to the park on weekdays and be all alone
he didn't draw this one by the way, this was drawn by someone else to frame him as a racist
>Take the train frequently
>There's always some minority blasting music or watching videos at full volume without headphones

The minorities I live around don't act like this, so yes.
For me it's talking on speaker phone in crowds even though they have it right up next to their face anyways. It's like they cannot exist without the hooting of other apes in their ears.

do younger zoomers and millennials even interact irl? most zoomer women think men older than 30 are ancient grandpas.
Tumblr has like 20 thousand edits to this meme it's wild.
Jesus I typed it into search and there's more than I originally thought.
I….I laughed…
because it's a rage comic that took a wojak that'd fit with the joke
nice, laughing is healthy.
Ghetto culture is an absolute plague on humanity. It's not just blacks, pretty much anyone and anyplace stricken with ghetto thug bullshit culture is held back by it.
Slavery was a mistake moreso because it lead to the ghetto culture were forced to live with today.
Everyone who posts like this is brown or wishes they were
you never actually leave your house, do you?
Everyone who posts like this is a pasty white 14 year old.
what was bro yapping about?

i'm dead
Delightfully devilish.
Makes me miss
>implying
I'm fricking crying
First time I felt old recently was having to explain to someone what The Ultimate Showdown is and sounding like a moron doing it.
Shouldn't it say "normalgays hate eating shit", to mock contrarians who do stupid shit just because it's unpopular?
No
Then it's not really applicable to this site
This whole meme is just shiggydiggy and >implying inst it?
I love this thread
it really shows the level of autism some anons have. I get why they hate certain threads now
Am I doing it right? Can I finally be one of the cool kids now?
I'M DOING MR KRABS
So are we having like a Cinemaphile template edit thread here?

I'm afraid there's simply no stopping what's been set in motion at this point. Even online racists use ebonics like "based" and "woke".
The only time I ever heard of whatever this is, was when someone kept making threads with Regular Show impact font edits of that terminology. I see more of the "what is bro yapping about :skull: yapping level: critical" bullshit.
