I never watched that shit, nor the original anime, but this girl is something, straight up perfect my type. Post her more.

THIGHS
We need to outlaw ending lines with motherfricker or b***h it’s so cringe
The costume change might have been done to allow a harness for stunts jumping etc.
that would make sense if she did any stunts
actually
in the 70s/80s they figured this out with hot women and hot female stunt doubles and lighting so if this is seriously the hill you chose to die on to defend le maiden you're fricking moronic.
Nope, nothing moronic about it, cosplayers have done a better job than Wokeflix and the reason has nothing to do with stunts, it's called censorship and political correctness, these people hate the source material
I don't mind that they had to change the costume. But I hated how they completely fricked the character up. Faye isn't a dyke, not even a little bit.
Didn't she have feelings for Spike?
In the Anime she has several relationships with men. It's never outright stated that she has feelings for Spike but it's implied. She also tries to stop him from going off to kill himself at the end.
The lesbo thing wasn't even the worst thing they did to the character, but it's a complete waste of time to talk about this dog shit Netflix slop anyway.
Only a moronic autist would think that the original costume would work in a live action adaption.
Guess I'm one of those moronic autists, then. Strange how this show and its makers and defenders are simultaneously ultra-prudish (when it comes to anything men might find appealing) and super-pro-degeneracy.
I'm not defending the show, I'm just stating the obvious. The costume is being held up by literal cartoon magic. If you look at it there's pretty much nothing holding it together. Dressing up in such a costume is probably as comfortable and believable as dressing up in wet toilet paper. That's why it doesn't work and has to be modified so that it even stays on which ruins the original aesthetic.
You would need to add buttons and such to make it even barely dressable.
yeah I've seen cosplayers wearing it, and it works, as a cosplay, it would look moronic as a parsons regular outfit on a tv show.
OK, point taken. But I think they could have come up with something close to/in the spirit of the original that she could have moved around in without too much discomfort (or no more discomfort than some Star Trek actors, for instance, have had to endure). Instead they went for something totally unappealing - for a character who's meant to be a femme fatale.
I take back my sort-of concession. No "cartoon magic" required. They just hated the anime, and straight men.
Plenty of amateur cosplayers pulled it off. But I guess they don't exist in homosexualland.
absolutely could work, honestly isn't even that far off from what some people DO wear out. also, things might look weird but look fine in context. no way do i look at any costume in fifth element and think "yeah, that's not cringe." but it all works in context of the world. stop being so damn daft.
It might, they didn't even bother to try, their own words, not ours.
What irked me about the whole thing is that instead of just coming out and saying the costume didn't work for live action, they wanted to pretend they were so progressive for "updating" a fan favorite character for ESG points.
Just treat the fans with the smallest amount of respect, don't go around calling them bitter virgins for having issues with your changes, talk to them like real people.
>"NO ONE DRESSES LIKE THAT"
>meanwhile women IRL
This is why there shouldnt be LA adaptations of anime
No, it's why we need to stop having women wreck everything. How can we simultaneously live in such a perverted and sex saturated culture but also one that clearly hates male heterosexuality so much?
~~*no reason*~~
It's the future, everyone's depressingly poor and free spirited; who fricking cares if they dress like turbo bawds?
Faye was literally a space scum scammer
she dressed like that to get men horny so she could scam them
it's a typical noir film archetype of the prostitute who is the only one who knows the "dark underbelly of the city" well enough to help the protag
But Spike is also from the dark underbelly of cities. He was a thief and a killer.
I think the reason there was so much friction between him and Faye is because they are the same. Tragic past, free-spirited, hyper-competent. A rock and a hard place.
>who fricking cares if they dress like turbo bawds?
We fans of the source material do and also straight men
>is that a femme fatale using her body to woo targets?
>Help me feminism I'm literally going insaaane!
She's supposed to be Asian by the way. Valentine isn't even her real name.
Ok, here's a challenge:
show me ONE single cosplay of the character on the right (you literally can't)
women are not interested in unsexy characters
women literally dress like faye anyhow
test
Is that the girl from Girl Meets World? She's practically naked on social media, why wouldn't they let her wear loose clothes on Netflix.
>Is that the girl from Girl Meets World?
Who from what?
Life is good for chonkers
he's thinking about sneed 🙂
The only good casting in the show.
>Dis homie smells like fried chicken
I like corgis.
hes eeeevvuuul
He knows he was the only good part of this mess and hes smug about it
It was bad, but it wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen.
I haven't watched television or film in over a year and there's nothing out there that makes me want to change that.
Why did they decide to cast a 55 year old asian man for a 30 year old character with a german surname and a israelitefro?
I'm more mad that they made him a manlet than the race
because anime therefore asian except the blackwashed characters of course
The articles gushing over John Cho's casting were Emperor's New Clothes-tier.
>short
>pushing 50
>really not very good-looking
>convincingly played a wimp in Harold & Kumar
>PERFECT CASTING!
Don't forget that he ground the production to a halt by tearing his ACL almost immediately.
moronic writers somehow missed the fact that Spike is some literal German/israeli/Martian mutt and Faye is actually the Asian one.
None of the writers watched the anime. Not a single one. They were proud of mentioning this fact.
I'm sure you have a source for that.
I don't know where he's getting that from. In the cringey Netflix promotional show they did, the (israeli) showrunner claimed...
>We started by watching the anime extensively
But whether that's true or not doesn't really matter, because they proceeded to shit all over it - I think deliberately. The actors claimed to have watched the anime too, yet Cho, for instance, was confused by someone mentioning Spike having a fake eye, among other things, so some of them may only have "watched" it in the background. The guy playing Jet may have actually done his homework, but - the race issue aside - the writers turned his character into a sad sack who won't shut up about his daughter, so, yeah.
See? I think claiming that the people behind poor adaptations didn't care about the source material or deliber tried to sabotage it is letting them off too easily. The problem is laziness and a lack of skill and talent, plain and simple.
I won't dispute that the show suffered from a shortage of talent (particularly on the writing side) and laziness/complacency, but I disagree that that's all it was. I'll piss off the "buy an ad" guy again, but in my video I did my best to "prove" that the showrunner et al ruined it on purpose. Even though they all claimed to love/respect the source material. It was so *aggressively* shit in so many respects that laziness and incompetence doesn't cover it.
>but in my video
CRINGE
So, I'm not allowed to post because I make videos occasionally? Frick off. I'm pretty well versed on this piece of shit (unfortunately), because I took the time to review it thoroughly.
Stop contributing worthless 'content' to the world, anon. There’s enough already. Shame on you.
If that's your attitude, don't complain when the algorithm keeps serving you up low-effort, unscripted-except-for-the-sponsor-plugs shite.
>shite
Oh dear.
You got something against the Irish too?
I thought Spike had a bionic eye.
according to that open letter that's the standard now in hollywood
Source?
Ummm. The Japanese are heckin' racist and transphobic slant-eyed chuds. So, of course they would be good people and not watch their shows
The character is literally based on Elliot Gould's Marlowe in The Long Goodbye. Of all the israeli actors in Hollywood, they couldn't find someone to basically do an Elliot Gould imitation.
Is that cum?
We won't sexualize the sexy anime girl in the live action, but we'll cover her hand in cum
Why did half of that show look like it was filmed in someones backyard and the other half like it was filmed in front of a green screen?
Incompetence.
Exactly what I was thinking, looks too cheap. OP's screenshot looks like the scene was only lit with sunlight on an overcast day, they couldn't be bothered lighting it properly or making it more stylised aside from tilting the camera.
that kinda makes me wonder, does the One Piece live action mog the cowboy bebop adaption in terms of sets?
No. It was actually worse, believe it or not.
wtf, but they made it look appealing?? i never knew the one piece could somehow be worse
>but they made it look appealing??
Not really. It looked pretty cheap throughout.
lack of budget
how do you respond without sounding mad
Ask her if she's moronic?
they put down the corgi after this was cancelled
Well, good, would have been awful if that black guy was still carrying it around.
Lel
Americans see this and think latinxoid, pitbull, troony, chink and Black person
The dog ended up mogging the humans but it would have been funnier if they went with a pitbull.
You'd think they'd cast a black or hispanic chick for Ed. But instead, they cast some white girl.
The guy playing jet black was probably the best actor in the show.
What does that have to do with anything, Jet isn't black
it was still good casting, the only good casting in the entire show. i don't care that much about race swapping as long as it doesn't matter to the character or they do a good job, which they did. he was believable as jet. literally the only good thing about the entire show. everything else was absolute shite, i'm not gonna sit here and knock the one good thing about it.
>Anime diehards treated Netflix'a #CowboyBebop like it was the equivalent of the Phantom Menace. To the rest of us it was a Force Awakens at worst.
phantom menace was good, force awakens was shit. terrible post, terrible opinion.
>Society in general need to lower expectations, especially when it comes to entertainment
where do these people come from? who the frick are they?
>~~*Americans*~~
>Ed's subtle panty lines

this was just some chud shit?

Hey, watch it; don't watch it. But definitely don't watch the show, unless you're a masochist.
>Ein just vibin in the back
Not gonna watch this but the dog is pretty cute. Would pet.
>MOTOKO KUSANAGI is white
>SPIKE SPIEGEL is asian
These people are fricking hopeless.
I'm just disappointed they weren't delusional enough to renew. The Ed cringe kino would have been off the charts.
Disgusting. No wonder this show feels so disorienting and gross all the time.
She actually is hot, that show suffered more from bad script than style.
would like to jizz on that stomach but pull out a second too late half filling her up and risk getting pregnant out of ten.
I couldn't pull out. I would go balls deep every time. Fill that womb.
where booba?
she is, but she doesn't have the right body type for faye
Exactly. Her casting choice was a mistake. Faye uses her feminine charms and sex appeal to get what and where she wants. You don't dress up the hottest chick in the setting as a fat dumpy whatever dressed in dark clothing and layered to mask her sex appeal. No one would fricking want Faye in that capacity and lo and behold no one did. Grand opening and grand closing in the same fricking month it debuted. Frick this show and everyone involved save for the black guy and the dog.
Tummy.
Literally perfect body, if I fricked her I think I would know happiness at last.
Good Lord.
SEXO
Monke SEES action
>ruins perfection with shitty squiggles
women are dumb
Relax bro almost everyone has tats.
I have none but one shoulder tat isn't going to bother me. If she tatted her torso I would be concerned.
That's the only webm where she looks hot because of the angleisraelite distorting her otherwise fridge proportions
Too bad she's a c**t.
Neurons activated
I don't blame them for what they did. NETFLIX' audience is mostly dumpy, mean-spirited women, and as diversity teaches us, women can't relate to media unless they see someone like themselves in it.
>mmm well yes jet but you are black and male
I still can't believe that's an actual line someone got paid to write.
That's not even the worst of it. In one episode Vicious waxes lyrical about having someone shave his balls. Vicious.
Damn, glad I never watched this shit. I legitimately thought the black male line was a meme like morbin time until I saw the clip on youtube. The absolute state of it all, oh boy...
NO RULES
The best.
Did they get those costumes from a Spirit Halloween?
>raceswapped an ashkenazi named Spiegel into a chink
>the entire show got cancelled after 1 season even though worse shows got extended on Netflix
hmm, I wonder if these two facts are related.
I'm not sure it gets much worse than this (though I haven't seen all the shite that's out there), but my guess is they pulled the plug because the viewership was lower than expected and even most normie critics didn't like it.
>SPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKE!! SPIKE SPIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL!!
>heh-heh
I liked it. You gays suck. This and dark crystal deserved better.
>yeah I enjoy things I'm such a rebel
dark crystal was good, shame not enough normies can into puppet kino to make a second season worthwhile. bebop was just shit though, I made it through one and a half episodes and had to tap out.
I also enjoyed it. I was never married to the anime. Imo it's mid, carried by an incredible soundtrack.
Before you @ me I know portions of it are plagiarized.
>Good artists imitate. Great artists steal. -Picasso
no one who watched dark crystal disliked it, though. it's just that a folklore fantasy show with puppets is a hard sell to most audiences, it is a wonder it got made in the first place. bebop live action was shitting on source material while the people who worked on it were pretending that it was the greatest adaptation to exist, respectful and "updated for modern audiences" (code for "your worldview is wrong and deserves to be reprogrammed)
If Cowboy Bebop fans's standards were as low as wanpisstards', this would have been a massive success and gotten another season.
The One Piece show's actually good and respects the source material. They got as close as they could get in 8 episodes.
>The One Piece show's actually good and respects the source material.
Case in point. You morons have no standards and think that something which couldn't even pull off simple shot composition, or camera work, or even just hiring halfway decent actors, was "actually good".
*it was good for a LA anime
happy now?
>it was good for a LA anime
No, it wasn't. It was about on par with Netflix-produced tive action anime adaptations, and arguably worse in terms of technical accomplishements.
And it was significantly worse than Japanese live action anime adaptations, most of which also aren't good.
Nah. Me likey
See:
No standards.
nah
Or maybe you're just a bitter autist who hates everything.
>if you think that a terrible live action adaptation of a shitty manga for toddlers is bad, you must hate everything
Great logic there, pisstard.
all of the bad decisions aside, what actually killed it was
>pastiche neo-noir space detective story with spaghetti western thematic and design elements
>somehow gets turned into lmao so randum xD ADHD moronic starwars knockoff
anime doesn't translate into live action unless you also translate the thematic elements back into something comprehensible in live action
literally all you have to do is fricking copy noir films and the big three of spaghetti westerns, then set it in space
A modern tragedy.
>emotionally mature lead
>emotionally mature
Must have missed that with all the swearing and poop "jokes" and other non-medy.
How did Netflix get rattled so easily? Where they getting mail bombs or something.
At least let it marinate for a while then decide a season 2 isn't happening. No reason go to nuclear because reddit didn't like it.
But Netflix has a ton of garbage shows they won't release numbers for and keep getting renewed.
I honestly think it was some cynical shit like not being woke enough. It always is with these DEI companies.
It's why I don't have a sub, their programming is trash.
nobody liked it, moron
>Where they getting mail bombs or something.
I don't know, but they should be.

>Men's Health
Kek
Did some work for Men's Health in the UK years ago. Given the absolute state of journalism today, I suspect that now they couldn't define what a man is.
>article implying the original did something wrong
The only thing the original did wrong was handing the distribution and adaption rights to morons.
>Adaptation is an obvious frickup, but the distribution of the original was also fricked up, as later version fricked up the contrast and sometimes even the soundtrack so that every bluray version today has something annoyingly wrong with it
The guy who played Jet would have been much better as Dutch in Black Lagoon
I want my man to make the role he was literally based of
theyd all be better off as lagoon characters
I thought that too. Maybe someone younger for Rock, but I would probably accept him too
I miss her
>I was sexually abused and I now I must act and dress quirky face

they should have had r kelly play jet
she can carry the weight of my penis in her mouth,if you know what I mean
i wanted to give it a chance, not be too harsh. i knew i was going to be hard on the show because i love the source material so much, so i really tried to push past the things i was hating about the show. but then episode 2 came, made it about a fictionalized ted k, and dismissed him as nothing but crazy. it's material they didn't even need to touch, pretty much the only episode that wasn't a rehash or twist on an existing episode, and it was so fricking tone deaf.
jet was cool, though.
That episode was a (terrible) rehash of Cowboy Funk, though, which also had the Teddy Bomber character. By my reckoning there were only two Netflix episodes with original (relatively speaking) stories.
>all this b***hing about the main cast when what they did to Vicious is by far the most atrocious
I don't even like Cowboy Bebop all that much but this is NOT Vicious.
>this is NOT Vicious.
Dunno, anon. I found the whole adaptation extremely vicious.
>nearly silent antagonist
>turned into literal comic relief
it's exactly as atrocious as if you:
>make Mass Effect movie, Sovereign is voiced by Ryan Reynolds and constantly makes computer puns
>make Gundam Wing Endless Waltz live action, Heero Yuy played by Finn Wolfhard and they insert a whole coming of age backstory where he actually is really nervous to talk to Relena
>make live action Evangelion original series, Shinji is played by Timothee Chalamet, Asuka is a sassy fat black woman and Rei is played by Hunter Schaefer
>Rei is played by Hunter Schaefer
uuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh but thats kino
Don't give ideas to these awful bastards
lmao he says mochi-mochi? The writers hated the original so much.
I thought it was a joke too. It isn't.
Why is he hunched over like he's walking through a short hallway?
The obvious looking down and underestimating the "weird but kinda cool chink cartoon" is the true racism. They can stuff it full of PoCs if they don't give an effort to understand the material. Likewise, the feverish need to "upgrade" decently written female characters is true misogyny. It's also painfully obvious they watched only the US dub.
The US dub is the better version, weeb. It didn't even change the characters. The voice acting was just better. Even the creator thinks so.
she cute.
>first big role

The funniest thing about the whole CB reboot nonsense were the rabbid fans who tried to shill and attack the anime purists. People will really get behind anything these days. Most media these days is trash, but people will only admit something is trash will it reaches crtiical mass levels of terrible whereby they are forced to.
>Let's make this shit look like a 90s low budget sci-fi series.
