          >We can almost get our own space ship for that much!
He realised they were being taken advantage of and objected.
          >After Han asks Luke where he dug up the old fossil.
He's defensive of his friend who has just been insulted by a scoundrel.
          >After Ben Kenobi dies
Why wouldn't someone be impacted by the death of a friend when they've quickly become such an important part of their life?
          >It’s not much different from bulls eyeing womprats!
Trying to stay positive and keep morale high for what it is potentially a suicide mission.

None of these are bad contextually. They establish him as an ambitious person that stands up for himself and his friends and tries to stay positive in the face of adversity. Two of them also build conflict with another character and this contrast in personalities accentuates the bond built between them as they grow closer through the shared adversity they endure.

          >Luke is a deeply unlikable person.
No. This mentality is shared by the people now producing the dogshit everyone hates which should be evidence enough as to how flawed it is.

      Anonymous

Because he’s an actual character unlike anything seen in Star Wars the past umpteen years.

The movies aren’t perfect and the prequels suck but Luke is a great character. Starts as your typical angsty teen that wants to pave his own life away from his “parents” (aunt and uncle). He is very whiny. Like many teens he doesn’t understand why certain things happen to he and his loved ones. He always had the feeling he was destined for more but even with his new powers things don’t seem to be going his way. Either his powers aren’t all encompassing and he has less weight to throw around in the galactic conflict than he thought or they are powerful enough to make more of a difference and it’s his fault personally for not being better.

He is terrified of becoming like his father to the point that he begins to feel it’s almost out of his control which is completely ridiculous. The angst is almost gone in ROTJ but rears its ugly head at the worst moment in his duel with Vader. He relapses and the progress leading up to ROTJ evidenced by his conversations with Vader on Endor is completely abandoned when it’s needed most. It’s not until he sees Vader's mechanical forearm that he has his moment of clarity. While Luke’s mechanical hand is yet another similarity he has with Vader, he realizes his approach to his relationship with his father is all wrong. If Luke is like his father that also means Vader is like his son. Luke is not 100% doomed to kill Vader in cold blood and follow in his father’s footsteps. When he realizes that, he steps back and offers Vader the opportunity to do the right thing because he knows he will. It is one of the best arcs you’ll find in a mainstream blockbuster. Particularly the relapse.

This is such a weird impulse when you really break it down. None of those women are even organic fans, it’s the job and they are fronting, the shirts are more an advertisement of feminism then Star Wars, and they don’t get the disconnect, it is another flavor of pic related.
        .
You can really get how weird it is if you reverse the roles, like if a bunch of male rights activists were running the wonder women reboot and wore shirts that said the “lasso of truth is male”. Just a complete disconnect.

A science FANTASY needs something ‘magical’ about it. Hence the previous poster’s comments on its mystique being destroyed by explaining ANYTHING about it. I mean, that’s painfully obvious on a narrative sense, but people loved the prequels so it’s expected for them to be extremely dense

What does it explain? Where does this "the Force is actually microbes" idea come from?

Listen to the dialogue. The Force is still magical. There are midi-chlorians that are attracted to the magic. This is a setting with aliens and bugs and all sorts of weird shit. There are species who are "more Force sensitive". Star Wars people are still made up of cells. If a microscopic organism ends up in higher counts in Force sensitive characters, then taking a blood test to measure the count is actually pretty interesting imho.

Absolutely nothing changes about the Force itself. The Yuuzhan Vong had some anti-Force bullshit. The Force was still the same.

greetings from the Gundam Universal Century fandom

cultural marxists and super woke egalitarians HATE the force and they will subvert and remove it if they can. Why? The force is ableist. The force existing is supremacist because some people are born better at it than others. Cant have that! (their worldview is predicated on nobody being born better than anyone else. Everything is socially enforced and humans are blank slates. gender discrepancies and racial differences MUST be society's fault. It cannot be explained any other way. Luke inheriting the force is problematic, Anakin being powerful is problematic) (I know it is a universal force that force users draw from but its been established since the Skywalkers that the force is in part genetic)

I mention Gundam because theyve already gone through this. Their version of the force, "newtypes" are like force users. In-Universe, there are Newytpe/force user supremacists.

As soon as Yas the communist got hold of the series he said NO NO NO Newtypes shouldnt exist they were a mistake theyre a DANGEROUS concept they cause ULTRANATIONALISTS and IRL SUPREMACISTS NOOOO

and the alt-right over there runs the other way with it, saying "frick it. The Newtypes are the only ones that should live and breed. The Earthnoids souls are held down by gravity." and their showrunners overdo the concept of the force.

so yea its inescapable culturewar shit. Eugenicists and communists are still battling like its WWII and it never stops.

    >why does any of this matter its just fiction
yea Im just sharing something interesting I noted.
