    >Completely scrap the live action remake shit
    >Sell less important shit like certain Fox properties and ABC/ESPN shit
    >Test the waters with a half-hour special animated with the original 2D style, if it does well critically start production on a full length film
    >Pander to the boomers and nostalgia crowd. TV spots/advertisements/merchandise, etc with classically drawn/animated legacy characters to bring back people who may have been turned off by wokeshit and lack of characters they're familiar with
    >Make the parks more affordable for people, and focus more on refurbishing and preserving older attractions and buildings and less on big flashy new IP based shit, have a new attraction put in roughly every 4/5 years with smaller scale entertainment like parades and special events being more frequently produced to make up for lack of new rides, basically quality over quantity
    >Actually listen to people's feedback and criticisms, probably the most important thing listed here

There's probably more smaller fhings I'd do that aren't mentioned but I feel like this about covers all the important stuff

Cut the paychecks of everybody in white-collar positions in exchange they may live and work from. Any job that can be done by robots should be done by robots. Open own chain of cinemas that exclusively screen Disney films in incredible formats such as 70mm and IMAX, effectively cutting off a major artery for the movie theater industry. Lots of building, rebranding, and refurbishment at the Disney parks. For instance, Disneyland Paris is renamed Terre Disney and their Sleeping Beauty Castle is redesigned into Prince Adam/The Beast's castle.

I honestly think that the only thing I would do since the company situation is hopeless is invent an excuse to invite all the people who ruined Disney including those outside the company like Alonso, Feigi, Kathleen Kennedy, along with their families. Trap them in a room and have them brutally killed.

Disney's nostalgia appeals did well when they did as little as possible to change them. Today any appeal to nostalgia is warped to the point where it barely resembles the original product

it doesn't matter what your opinion is, that's what they've been doing. they tested the waters with The Princess and The Frog and it did well but not well enough given the sheer amount of effort traditional animation takes. if you could make a show in cel that people today would pay shittons to watch as a niche thing you'd still have trouble keeping it afloat due to how awful the medium is to work with compared to every other. there's a reason the cuphead show wasn't made in cel, the truth is it doesn't fricking matter as long as the show itself is "good" (or, watched). disney has had a good run, but the sad truth is that they're going to need to remodel themselves with an entire new niche in the coming years because nothing they are years behind their competitors in practically every department

Find some way to make money from ESPN.
Make a 2D movie based off of Rumpelstiltskin.
Merchandise Kingdom Hearts outside of gamestores. Weebs love that shit.
Stitch is popular among young girls right now. Rerelease the movie in HD in theaters.
Make the parks cheaper and stop pissing off the government.
Let "Mickey Mouse" fall into public domain to earn back goodwill from the public, but protect the company-used version of him.
Actually go somewhere with a card game, and invest in a mobile platform with it.

Princess and the Frog had a myriad of problems that weren't 2D.
      >Black protagonist with very little agency
If you're racist, you're not seeing the movie. If you're woke, you'd probably be pissed that the female black character doesn't even resolve her main conflict, instead a white woman does. In fact, same white woman gives her the dress used in the promo material.
      >No memorable songs
      >Disappointing villain that did not live up to his cool design
The best part was that fly character's arc and death. And there's a comedic undertone in how he gets killed, so it's jarring.

    1. Release the classic catalogue into theaters on a rotating basis, and set up a subscription program where people can get passes to see screenings for classic Disney films every month (this will include Indiana Jones and the Theatrical Versions of the Star Wars trilogy on top of the obvious Disney/Pixar catalogue).

    2. Put out a public hit list, CALLING ALL SCREENWRITERS: Submit your Star Wars/Indiana Jones screenplay, and if you’re chosen to be adapted, you’ll get 2% of the backend, no questions asked.

    3. Put together a dream team for a traditionally animated film. This project is on high priority, and will be nailed down with the goal of making a classic movie and kickstarting a new division for the company. Market to families, nostalgic Disney adults, hardcore cartoon fans, etc. This is “the” return of traditional animation.

    4. Publicly announce that Disney is a company for families and will from now on stand for the magic of imagination. End all internal “woke” mandates, and shoot down any overt political messaging in favor of universal themes (in return for a renegotiation of the special privileges in Florida).

    5. Lower the capacity of the Disney Parks by 15%, and invest in a new Fastpass system.

I looked at the polls and the article is comparing two entirely different polls, one (the first poll) which only seems to have a favorable or unfavorable choice and the other which has a five point scale ranking from very favorable to very unfavorable. I'm betting that a good chunk of the people who would've otherwise said neutral if given the chance in the first poll chose favorable instead due to the binary option. Also, NBC News only began recording Disney's favorability in 2022 meaning there is no way to compare the favorability to 2021.

At least Disney's favorability is on a decline but it's been a gradual, slighter one (happening since 2017) that, at least recently, has been driven by polarization.

Turning Red has sexual-"empowerment" undertones to it.

The other anon was right, though. You're trying to fish for a few exceptions and being pedantic about the specific year he gave, rather than most of what the company's focus has been gradually shifting towards. If you really gave a crap, you probably should have asked him to prove that the company was "woke" by giving examples (more than TLM).

And quite frankly I should be pedantic, because woke is mostly a mindset by people who find it where ever they look.

You asked for a line, and I gave you the zeitgeist cutoff (where more movies were made for entertainment than messaging). You then prodded for exceptions instead of attempting to understand an easy concept.

Disney rebounding away from its current image and towards an image of bringing joy to all by acknowledging that “Disney Magic” is above such things would serve the company very well. That goes for “anti-woke” too.

I really don’t think it’s hard to understand. For example, do you acknowledge the stunt casting of Ariel in the new Little Mermaid movie? Or do you have to be mentally ill to notice?
Ask yourself, and be intellectually honest, did they cast her purely because she was the most suitable for the job, or because they are participating in the ongoing culture war pissing match and wanted some controversy buzz?

Depends, can you say she's a bad actress, I have no intention of watching it because I don't want to watch a little mermaid remake, I have seen a lot of reviewers who are in the middle of the political divide praise her yet criticize the film.

That could be an element but can you tell me without one hundred percent proof that she wasn't cast because of her acting, Her singing voice? she brings something new to the character.

This is what I mean, man. You can’t even find any common ground on the most basic, easy olive branch layup of an example. It’s just a waste of time talking to someone who weasels around like that.

I don’t care if she’s a superstar, casting Ariel to be black is a choice made with the knowledge that you’re inviting controversy in the way that an accurate-to-original casting choice would not. The only logical explanations for taking on that controversy is
                >A. You’re genuinely fighting for a cause you place above money (I seriously doubt this is the case)
                >B. You believe the free buzz offsets the risk
Unfortunately for Disney, the hidden consequences of continually participating in the pissing match, is eventually you get branded as a company that does that. People who are sick of the pissing match are now sick of you, and your accrued bad blood comes home to roost. All I’m saying is Disney doesn’t need to do this to be relevant. Disney is, honestly, above these games as a brand and as an institution. Disney would benefit greatly from an image makeover, letting the lesser companies piss into the ocean of piss for their scraps. Focus on entertainment. That shouldn’t be a controversial opinion about an entertainment company.

His first attempt had the legislature realizing they would be putting a huge tax burden on the county, and the second attempt was foiled by Disney's clever lawyering. Right, but that's not the point of the lawsuit. No one disputes that Florida has the power to change the district. The claim in the lawsuit is that it's being done specifically in retaliation for Disney's stance on Florida's laws and, again, there's copious evidence of this. DeSantis et al shot themselves in the foot by being so open about it.

    1) give in to all the current union demands that led to the strike. Thus becoming the only company available for work during the strike.

    2) no more live action remakes, full stop on production.

    3) merchandising business model runs the same way. Focus on our live action films, animated films, Disney plus content, and theme parks.

    4) sale off ESPN, your part of HULU, national geographic, Your share of A&E, vice etc. If it isn't related to the core focus. Sale, sale, sale

    5) marvel. Stop with the direction the movies have been going in for the last five years. Focus on X-Men, fantastic four, and spiderman. Avengers will still be around but not the replacement avengers. Bring back older avengers with team up movies for new characters like tigra, wonder man, ghost rider, etc. For the tv show only make them if there is a demand for more of a character from the movies. For the marvel comics shift focus to obscure characters and hire webtoon writers. Give me more shonen inspired stuff and wacky concepts.

    6) no more star wars movies for another twelve years. Make a show about the high republic, have it be your game or thrones. Have mini series about the Jedi masters during the clone wars and order 66. Hype them up like captains are in bleach.

    7) speaking of anime. Let anime studios remake Disney channel original movies into anime series. Turn the whole Rick Riordan presents series into anime. Work with Japan to make a live action bleach series, with Japanese actors but has the western horror asestic of James wan as with an early to mid 2000s punk vibe. Make an R rated adaptation of fate zero, if sussesful then a fate stay night series, the apocrypha, then grand order. Make it like the MCU when it comes to continuity. Debut characters and it they are popular have Thier own series/movie. LET TYPE MOON HAVE CREATIVE CONTROL.

You just need to take an early Eisner era approach.

    1. Slash the budget of every film by half. If it can’t be made for $30 million or less, it doesn’t get made

    2. Produce high concept unique ideas with lesser known talent. A big aspect for Disney in the 80’s was that they couldn’t afford the major A list talent so they often didn’t, which ended up biting them when they paid a ton for Warren Beatty and Madonna in Dick Tracy

    3. Do a major anonymous consumer survey to figure out what markets are not being served by Disney and figure out a way to serve that market. Hollywood Pictures and Touch Stone were both used in the past to allow Disney to release non-Disney projects, we need a return to this.

    4. With a major recession looming, the theme parks are going to get hit hard. Now is the time to focus on simple refurbishment and analyzing what attractions aren’t a draw.

    5. Dig deeper into the back catalogue. Disney could make a ton of easy money by releasing special editions and previously unseen footage from the tons of classics in their portfolio. They also need to go on an awareness campaign to get younger audiences interested in their older works. This would not cost a lot and wouldn’t require new content to be produced.

    6. Delve deeper into streaming and video platforms. Twitch and YouTube have both shown that child content online can generate tons of revenue, Disney should be capitalizing on this. Even something as simple as a “Disney channel on twitch” could potentially be a big win for them, especially if they aim for the nostalgia market and use it to air episodes of old shows

    7. Keep the corporate side more secretive. Announcing things like the MCU in business phases was not a good call. People need to see less of the employees and know more about their content as it comes out

      >Disney channel on Twitch
They already kind of do that, if you go to the official Disney Channel/XD Youtube Channels there is a Livestream that constantly plays episodes or shows like Phineas and Ferb / Wizards of Waverly Place.
I would argue that having Episode Livestreams that end with a simulcast of a new episode premiere would work better, as it gears up interest from people and helps them catch up for a new episode premiere.

Fire all Iger loyalists and work to remove any Disney descendants from the board.
License out old content to other streamers and channels.
Moratorium on any further spending on Disney+.
Take a hard look at the cruise ship business. If it isn't self-sustaining, mothball/sell 2 ships.
End all legal actions in the state of Florida. All that is doing is lining the pockets of lawyers. Quietly spend that money on local regime change instead.
Offer 16% of shares of Hulu to Comcast, bring their control up to 49%, and a 3-year commitment to programming on Hulu.
Re-release old movies during the strikes.
Subsidize/co-produce more foreign content to rebrand as Disney domestically.
Launch more merchandise lines based on legacy properties.
Reverse all "crowd control" policies at the parks, moratorium on price hikes, and stop all retheme projects.
Forcefully retire Kennedy, demote Filloni, entice Favreau back with a big cheeseburger.
Open up more technical production services to rival studios.
    Reform Disney Interactive Studios.
Personally murder whoever fricked up the colors on the 4K remasters, and scatter their body parts in the Gulf of Mexico.
Divest from all print, news, and online news business.
Sell remainder of Fox assets in pieces. Keep the good movies and shows and package them together for licensing to other streamers.
Reduce land holdings, particularly in cities.
Lay off everyone I don't like, has dyed hair, or looks at me funny.

Disney doesn't own any news stations outside of ESPN, when they bought fox, they did not buy the Fox news and sports stations, those still belong to Murdoch

Disney owns ABC News, which in turn owns various television stations and minority holdings in newspapers. Disney also provides venture capital to who knows how many websites. Plus, Disney's foreign divisions all have their own tendrils in various media. If you were to ask Iger to list everything Disney has full or partial ownership of, he wouldn't be able to tell you.

I forgot to mention, Disney owns something like a quarter of Vice through their acquisition of Fox and A&E, and they just crashed and burned too. This is why Disney needs to get out of all of this stuff.

Make kino shit. Talk with Miyazaki, give Goro a chance to make something high(er) budsget with 2D. Get assassinated by Israelian ninjas by the end of the year

      >give Goro a chance to make something high(er) budsget with 2D

God no. That guy's had a tough life under his dad, but he's got no talent. He's great as a buffer between his dad and the real world but is capable of mediocrity at best.

        Go to bed, Hayao.

          Anonymous

Nah, it's true. I feel sorry for Goro, life with/under Hayo sounds like a nightmare. He basically exists as a sponge for abuse. I don't have the link handy, but there was a story about the creation of the Ghibli Museum where Hayao did all these beautiful and amazing designs for the new building. The problem was that many of these were either physically impossible to build, or at least would be astronomically expensive. Goro got the job of explaining this to his father because everyone else was too scared, and his role was to let Hayao rage at him until he accepted the limitations of construction reality.

            Anonymous

Budget. That's the problem. It's always been the problem. Hayao has a name as well, investors took it as a guarantee. Hayao would have an opportunity as well: do something more with Ghibli. Not a chance for money, but a chance for art. I believe it would motivate both to deliver kino once again.

              Anonymous

Why? Hayao doesn't need his kid to make art, he's world-famous for it. He just put out a new film. Goro has had chances and he fricked them up. You can't realistically expect his kid to be anywhere near as good as he is, that almost never happens. Goro didn't even want to go into animation initially, he was pressured into it by his dad.

                Anonymous

Hayao is extremely dismal about Ghibli's future, Jack. He does care. And Goro hasn't had real chances yet. I give them 2D animators, budget for it, carte blanche. Ghibli is doomed otherwise. Hayao has lost his spark as wellv he doesn't believe anymore. This kind of thing would rekindle a fire. Making the mother of all omelettes!

                >Hayao is extremely dismal about Ghibli's future, Jack.

Oh, I know, and it's his own fault. He's personally destroyed every potential successor and next-generation leader of Ghibli. The studio dies with him because of him.

                >And Goro hasn't had real chances yet.

Dude has done three films and they were all mediocre. It's not shame to not be as good as the generational talent his father was, just find your own calling.

                >Hayao has lost his spark as wellv he doesn't believe anymore.

Remains to be seen, there isn't much info about the new one yet. Maybe it's his one last great effort before he checks out.

I would unironically tell him, look, I'm giving you one chance with this money. Talk to your father. Work together for once. I would try to mend their relationship and get him to actually have some pride in himself. I believe in Goro, he's got a few movies done and he's grown despite shrinking budgets. I would use Disney to save Ghibli. Frick the investors. Frick the stock market. I can use the Disney name to shake things up and make REAL art for frick's sake. Make something the world needs for once. Bring sincerity into children's media onve again. And if this means the death of both companies, so be it.

            >I want another Nausicaa,

The film only covers the first two volumes of the 7-volume series, though it will never happen. Ghibli has only ever done one continuation of a previous work (The Cat Returns, a spin-off of Whisper of the Heart), and they allowed Sony to do a live-action sequel to Whisper of the Heart, but there's no way Miyazaki is doing more Nausicaa, let alone probably not doing any films again.

Pre-Fox acquisition I remember reading rumors that Disney had been considering trying to acquire Ghibli. I doubt Miyazaki would ever allow that, though.

Make a tv subscription only porn of all the characters in traditional 2D
The subscribers get official drawn Disney porn from the vault while supplies last

No more live action or go straight to 3D modeling to perfectly match the original movies and add in an EXTRA 30 minutes to every movie with new scenes and scrapped characters to incentivize people to go to theaters

Make a movie about actual black history like this one king whose kingdom was conquered and he became a slave in china and then worked his way up to a military leader then came back home to reclaim his conquered kingdom no more race swapping

Princess power hour series where the princesses are tasked by Mickey to create a perfect princess land that will be built in Disney-world depending on ratings

Kingdom Hearts cartoon with full combat and blood for older audiences

Mickey Mouse cartoon similar to house of mouse but him running Disney while also being an actor and mascot
Various cartoon characters are in the board of directors and want Mickey out so they give him impossible tasks that he has to complete with his standard group of friends fricking it all up in different ways
Youtube series about various Disney characters teaching you how to draw in 2D and the video ends with a short featuring the Disney character of the week

You can have the mods give you my info so you can hire me Disney

Just a personal choice that could backfire or add to the movie in a good way like making another song that could potentially be the next Let It Go
Also none of that hyper-realistic lighting that makes everything hard to see

    >Sell Hulu and focus on Disney+
    >Sell ESPN, sports broadcasting rights are a fricking money sink.
    >Focus on reinvigorating Disney Channel back into a family network and not a teen girl network. Monthly movies, family friendly sitcoms mixed with kids shows. New projects based on beloved IPs, a new Marvel animated universe with Weisman at the helm.
    >Restore parks, lower prices in parks to be more affordable than Universal
    >Open a park in middle America or Texas.
    >Focus on new animated film IPs. Make sure they're not controversial. Bring back the people alienated by newer projects.
    >Slap Feige hard and tell him to get working on the X-Men shit because no one cared about the All New, All Different era during the comics and no one cares in film. Just get to the x-men and start testing waters on recasting major characters whose actors are done.
    >Fire Kennedy. Release the original trilogy unedited and fully restored. Announce a new trilogy unrelated to the Skywalker saga. Build off that universe. Let Lucas do an animated sequel trilogy.
    >Cancel The Simpsons and Family Guy.
