>Zack Snyder was considered to direct X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but Fox ultimately passed on him because he demanded the movie be R-rated.
Did we miss out? Wolverine would have been a much better fit for Snyder’s artistic sensibilities than Superman and Batman were.

>Did we miss out
Hahahaha no. We dodged a bullet. Zack Snyder killed the DCEU.
Upper management killed the DCU. BvS only happened because WB wanted to catch up to Marvel. The next movie after MoS was supposed to be MoS2.
Sucker Punch and Rebel Moon show us that Snyder can't make a good movie even when he is in complete creative control.
The DCEU being as shitty as it was, was a perfect shitstorm of all the chief creatives and business suits being completely fricking moronic, between Snyder not knowing how to write or make a good movie and WB execs doing the equivalent of going from Iron Man 1 to civil war to Infinity War.
No one should ever have complete creative control. Creatives are only human and will inevitably screw up here and there. That’s why you have other people around to keep everyone in check. Snyder obviously shouldn’t be writing his own movies. But if he does, a good script doctor can redraft his stuff to something more palatable for audiences.
I will never get why people think Snyder would make a great universe by his own, through his entire career he only made ONE sucess from a project that was his own vision rather than just copying the source, a fricking zombie movie, a decade before MoS
I wonder if people just mixed him up with Nolan who actually had tens of awards and a flawless career of nothing but sucessful and praised movies one after another.
Can you really call a remake "his own vision"?
By his vision I mean not just copying the entire story and turning it into a movie manga to anime style, yeah the movie was still the same story of a bunch of people who dislike each other stuck in a building while a crowd of zombies outside slowly find their way in. However just like the MCU it was still his own "style" on it.
Also most people probably think he's a visionary because he "invented modern zombies" or made zombie movies faster and more violent even though his Dawn of the Dead remake was simply copying the fast and loud zombies and fast pacing from 28 days later that was a box office sucess 2 years before his movie.
also btw 28 Days Later was loved by critics and audience alike and is considered a modern classic while Snyder Dawn of the Dead was quite divisive, considered a cheap copycat pushing a modern generic trend into a classic.
Even with Dawn of the Dead's success he wasn't on his own. He had James Gunn's script.
yeah, when you watch the interviews Gunn clearly was the one who made most of the job, Snyder didn't know anything about zombies even though he loves writing edgy shit he's not a fan of reading or watching it, Gunn was the zombie nerd
I haven't seen Rebel Moon. Does it have any rape in it? Because I've noticed Snyder likes getting kinda rapey.
>Does it have any rape in it?
Attempted rape in the PG-13 cut, a lot of rape (including child rape) in the R-rated director's cut.
I fricking knew it.
Snyder and rape are like Tarantino and feet.
>Snyder not knowing how to write
Snyder didn't write any of his DCEU films, you fricking moron.
He at least came up with the story for several of them, though.
And? His stories can work with the proper execution ie the proper script. The scripts just needed to be redrafted and the movies needed to be re-edited. There are fanedits that pretty much fix the movies. If they could do it, a pro could do it.
why are you acting like MoS wasn't shit
I agree with snyder killing the DCEU but I think it at least would've been a more interesting film than what we got if he directed it
Yeah, we did. Might’ve even used the R-Rated script that actually properly ties into the first X-Men.
>Did we miss out?
frick no. the movie would probably be more pretencious bullshit, like the Watchmen adaptation
The “pretentious” bullshit from that comes from the original comic.
Zack Snyder randomly push Jesus Christ images every 5 seconds and wanted Batman to be raped, he's unironically insane.
By Selyna Kyle/Zatanna/Thalia AlGhul/Joker? Not so insane anymore
Batman has already been raped in comics and only vampires kvetch over seeing a cross.
By his wife. Not in prison by a thug.
Given how Snyder love is religious symbolism he should've been given something with Xavier or Scott for a fricked up Jesus parallel instead.
>Did we miss out?
It would have been switching out one bad movie for another.
Jesus Christ, what is with all this Snyder hate? Y’all are acting like he’s Hitler or something.
Exact same reason why people hate Rick and Morty
because his movies suck, it's not that hard of a concept
I don't hate him, but It's kind of a build up because he and his fans unintentionally pissed off so many different sides
>Film Twitter/critics/SJWs/etc hate his films for a lot of reasons and by extension hate his fanbase going after them
>Longtime DC comics fans hate having to deal with his fanbase who poison any discussion
>Fandom Menace/Comicsgate crowd hates him and his fans because Snyder disavowed the Geeks & Gamers channel and their crowd. Plus EVS called the Snydercrowd out on their attack on Geoff Johns
>People at WB likely hate him and his fanbase because of all the PR problems (even though certain of these people definitely share the blame)
I'm kind of impressed, really.
His movies aren't all that good
>hate
Hate implies people spend the energy consumed by this no-talent hack.
If you ask people, even if you ask them stupid and obvious questions, of course you're going to get plenty of people who will shit posts. That's why threads like HOW BIG IS TOO BIG with pictures of PeeGee with literally beach balls on her chest get XYZ page views and replies. That does not mean all those people are going to suddenly start picking out (assuming they could even manage to find one and get the nerve to speak to them) girls with chemically inflated plastic fun bags surgically inserted into their upper chests and take them on as life-long wives.
You sure put a lot of energy into an incoherent analogy.
I suppose if you don't like hearing truths like "Hitler's actions put his country under foreign control for decades and he shot himself in a bunker after realizing what a failure he was" and "Zack Snyder doesn't make good movies" then yeah, I guess it is similar.
>Actually, the reason why this thread sucks is because there's actually a full 5 hour cut that i wasn't able to release due to creative differences, you would love to see it, it has more gritty scenes, sex, religious comparasions, slow mo scenes and black and white sequences, really a banger
Zach Snyder fricking sucks. Origins wolverine was an abortion of a movie, but Snyder’s film would have sucked just as much shit. Rebel moon is out and sucks ass, you fanboys can stop pretending he’s good now.
