I honestly believe that CGI is really a money-laundering scheme. If it's so much cheaper and easier, then why are the budgets for middling capeshit in the 100-200M range?
Zack Snyder before Justice League used to be a cheap as frick producer/director. He taught Christopher Nolan that it would be cheaper to actually grow himself the corn crops for Interstellar and then sell the crops.
