Zamn! Didn't realise Shyamalan's first 3 three movies made that much

The Sixth Sense
>$650 million
Unbreakable
>$250 million
Signs
>$450 million
All for original IPs that aren't sci-fi or action. Pretty impressive.

It's All Fucked Shirt $22.14

Yakub: World's Greatest Dad Shirt $21.68

You know what I like about Shyamalan? He's a POC filmmaker. Have any of his films brought attention to his race? How many race based controversies has he indulged in? He was lauded for his skills and was mocked just as heavily when he went down(even today Shyamalamadingdog is used by people but I can guarantee it would cause a shitstorm if a similar treatment was given to a Chinese or Nig filmmakers). Heck, It just dawned on me that he's Indian when I read the redeem comment just now.

Weirdly enough, I thought he was a Christian convert but apparently not religious but just went to a Roman Catholic School.

        >ultra rich dude doesn't care about politics because he knows it works in his favor
        Not that laudable tbh
        >Have any of his films brought attention to his race?
        >How many race based controversies has he indulged in?

His films always have entertainment value outside of Airbender and After Earth.

    >over a billion dollars

Studios take so much money once they agree to finance your movie, and they don't even do the work

    Smh...

He self funded spilt and glass, they were great low budget films. Split is topnotch.
Old was ok too but feel like the actors let it down a bit. The idea was good, execution not so much.
Directors like Peele make their whole schtick about being a minority making films but no one thinks twice about shamalamalam.

People went wild for The Sixth Sense at the time. Literally everyone was talking about it. He was able to ride that for a while until people were getting a bit tired of his twist schtick by the time of The Village.

I actually liked it. It had a weird sense of comfy for me that I can't put my finger on. It felt like one of those eighties films like Batteries Not Included where it's about a bunch of neighbours dealing with special circumstances.

Unbreakable is his best movie and they should have greenlit the sequel immediately.
