Zoomers are retarded.

They would rather watch something that lets them virtue signal rather than something that is actually entertaining.

No it's not. It's earnest, grassroots opposition, organically expressed. That's not the same as being told what to like and dislike, and voicing those prescribed values in a contrived manner as a means to an end socially, which is what virtue signalling means.

When you repeat it over and over it becomes virtue signaling. Stating your opinion in a reasonable manner is fine.

Repetition is not sufficient to turn it into virtue signalling, no. It's the motivation for doing it, not the frequency, that makes it virtue signalling.
Someone who joins a social circle among, say, conservatives, and starts stressing how much they oppose abortion and trannies, when they've never cared about either before, and neither have entered their experience outside of these being hot button issues, is virtue signalling.
A lifelong Christian happening to have these issues as central issue to his politics, and making a particular point of speaking out about them frequently, is not virtue signalling, that's just embodying one's values passionately.

              >A lifelong Christian happening to have these issues as central issue to his politics, and making a particular point of speaking out about them frequently, is not virtue signalling
It's virtue signaling when this isn't a politics board and you're bringing them up for attention. This is the television and film board, there's a separate one for discussing politics.

                >The motivation to repeatedly bring it up unprompted is a desire to virtue signal.
It can be. That's called necessary cause. It fails to satisfy sufficient cause, however, and so room is left for cases where unprompted repetition can occur without virtue signalling. Regardless, the state of slop media makes it so that pretty much every discussion of media constitutes a prompting to bring up the tactics and effects of israeli communism on media.
                >It's virtue signaling when this isn't a politics board and you're bringing them up for attention. This is the television and film board, there's a separate one for discussing politics.
I was being generous to your obvious communism and using the Christian conservative as an example of virtue signalling, not advocating bringing up the particular issues in the example.

Several of the lines that should rhyme in that parody do not rhyme. They also frequently force excess syllables in where they don't fit, and in some cases can't even be bodged to fit. And the stresses of some words force incorrect pronunciation when trying to bodge them into the rhythm of the original song.

It can. You can make that artistic choice. But regardless of that, the two lines in the parody would still ALSO have to rhyme with each other: go/low, goon/____ something that rhymes with goon. Step-bro doesn't rhyme with good. You've failed to make goon rhyme with step-bro.
                >Stop wasting my time now

No they don't. No song ever does that because if it doesn't rhyme in the original, making it rhyme in the parody would make them no longer match the original song.
A parody is supposed to sound like the original. Period. It's not an "artistic choice" lmao, this is a bait-tier copout.

                No.

                > if it doesn't rhyme in the original, making it rhyme in the parody would make them no longer match the original song
"It" (the portions in question here; the lines ending in "goon" and "step-bro) rhymes in the original. "Go" in "easy go" rhymes with "low" in "little low".
And what I was saying was artistic choice was whether or not the parody lyrics rhymed with the original. That is not necessary for successful parody. It's the artistic choice I make when writing parody, myself, but not mandatory.
What is mandatory is making A successful rhyme in the parody lyrics where one exists in the original, which this song fails to do.
                >A parody is supposed to sound like the original.
This doesn't contradict anything I've said, nor my position on the issue at all. I made no claim that "sounding like the original" was a matter of artistic choice.

Yet it's what you criticized as "wrong"
But what am I continuing to respond for? We've already established that you have no idea about any of this and that you're baiting moving the goalpost way past the original claim that the lytics in the image are wrong.
I'm going to ignore you from now on.

                >Yet it's what you criticized as "wrong"
No. I didn't. I criticized as wrong that the parody lyrics didn't rhyme within themselves, where they were required to.
I did not criticize that the parody lyrics didn't rhyme with the original lyrics (although they also don't do that - however doing that is a matter of artistic choice by the parody writer).
I haven't "baited" or moved any goal-posts. My claim has stayed the same. I've repeated it more than once, the same.
My claim was never that the lyrics "were wrong". It's a parody, an original work. The writer determines the new lyrics, so by definition they can't be the wrong lyrics lol. My claims are that
                - the number of syllables often don't fit the structure dictated by the original song and the requirements that define parody works
                - the stresses of the words used, when pronounced properly, also don't fit the rhythmic structure dictate by the original, and even allowing for some wiggle room here, they're far too clumsily inserted (like when I drunkenly fricked your mom) and read badly
                - many of the lines just don't even bother to fricking rhyme where they would need to

It really doesn't matter if you do or don't. It's just matters that the record stands affirming that I'm right and you're wrong.

                Anonymous

The record only shows blatant bait, goalpost-moving, semantics, and a very poor understanding of songwriting.
I was going to ignore your arguments and stop discussing the topic with you, but now I'm going to ignore anything you say.

                >Then your claim remains unsubstantiated.
My claim is that good songs can be written. You understand that, right? So no it doesn't. The fact that I don't choose to write a good song here means that good songs can't be written? You're a fricking blowhard homosexual.

I'm talking about your claim that it's possible to do better than that, AND that you have such ability.
Prove that you can write something that satisfies the following requirements better than the pic:
                >parody of bohemian rhapsody
                >based on zoomer slang and memes
                >matches or can be made to match the original meter
                >sounds like the original song when sung on the instrumental, through rhyme, alliteration, or any other similarity
                >the lines are sentences that make sense
                >is funny (the top priority)
You cannot make something that is perfect on all these fronts, especially considering the limited material, so on certain lines you can only compromise and choose what aspect you want to sacrifice. Obviously you can rephrase everything so that it matches the original perfectly, but then you're left with a less funny song.
This is a meme and it's supposed to be funny while sounding like the original song, and it achieves that better than I'm willing to bet your version would (I base this on your posts demonstrating that you understand nothing about this, or are at least pretending to).
Again, I'm now going to stop arguing with anything you say no matter what. If you want to continue to pretend you're not just writing dumb shit, it doesn't matter to me.
If you want to demonstrate that you can do better instead of continuing to say "I can, I just don't want to", you'd at least look less of a troll.

                >The record only shows blatant bait, goalpost-moving, semantics, and a very poor understanding of songwriting.
You misunderstanding a claim, and arguing with that strawman, doesn't mean that when I reiterate my actual claim that I've moved any goalposts lol.
                >I'm talking about your claim that it's possible to do better than that, AND that you have such ability.
I only made the first claim. I didn't claim to have or not have such an ability. I DID say that refusing to write something doesn't constitute the inability to do so. But I didn't make any claim about my abilities one way or the other. This isn't "semantics" in some sense of being petty or sneaky or dishonest, you're just a sloppy thinker and that's a you problem.
                >Prove that you can write something that satisfies the following requirements better than the pic:
                No.
                >continuing to say "I can, I just don't want to"
                I can't continue what I haven't begun doing.

                >And what I was saying was artistic choice was whether or not the parody lyrics rhymed with the original.
Also "come" and "coom" don't rhyme. Nor do "go" and "goon". So in no interpretation does this portion of the parody work. And this portion is comfortably emblematic of the quality of the whole work.
I'll give you that the slang and jokes throughout are decent themselves, but they were ham-fisted and badly shoe-horned into the structure, and it's no impossible task to fix that, it's just lazy, unskilled composition.

Okay. Make "goon" and "step-bro" rhyme.
                [...]
Yes. Keep in mind that the refusal to do something doesn't constitute any proof whatsoever of the inability to do it.

I was swimming(small hotel pool, crappy swim, I don`t go there anymore) Always people on vacation frolicking etc.

One time- I kid you not. for my entire 30 min swim. 3 teens are in the end of the pool on their phones. One sitting in the corner scrolling, one standing with elbows on the ground playing a game or something, the last ones standing listening to chat sound clips and replying... Iike, if you can`t spend time in the pool with your buddies.. without a phone... my god... we so fricked.

Also in my new gym. This guy was probably mid 20`s or so - On his phone in the sauna... in the motherfricking sauna...

The White Lotus had a ton of that brow-beating writer's politics bullshit in it. The characters voicing it were always idiots, even seemingly from the perspective of the show's frame. I couldn't decide if the show was trying to promote these stances (they were explicitly spelled out, like the dialogue was cut and pasted from commie indoctrination books.
