Back then the min-maxing wasn't so intense that people required a mage in every single dungeon run though. Especially for lower lvls. It was much more relaxed but maybe it's because meta info wasn't as readily available for the community as it is now.

No, no running out of quests is the common 1-60 experience. It's either that or you pad it with dungeons, which you should do, but anyone going solo doesn't. So you quest and do a regular dungeon, easy. Fair. Get in before it's 4/5 and they need a mage or they're not running. So just sit and wait. Sit there around the summon portal playing with your butthole for 20mins while some cuckhold recruits a mage from trade while saying they might have a guildy. It's a shit experience. You know what? I even had a better time questing in Warlords of Draenor than I did 1-60.

I don't think I agree. There's nothing about the Alliance/Horde conflict that necessitates humans being able to beat orcs one-on-one. The Alliance has mages, paladins, dwarf technology, plenty of ways to even the playing field.
Keep in mind that the whole reason the orcs lost the Second War wasn't because the Alliance overpowered the Horde, it was because Gul'dan went AWOL with a bunch of Doomhammer's troops and fricked him over.

The movie orcs are so much bigger than the humans that a battle between the two factions would be over literally within seconds of their lines meeting. It would be like an army of roman legionnaires mowing down children. tbh the players are just fricking window dressing in the final Arthas fight, which comes down to Ashbringer shattering Frostmourne so all the souls trapped inside the sword turn on Arthas and destroy him from the inside.
The last original member of the Silver Hand (which Arthas betrayed and destroyed) uniting the Scarlets and the Argents to storm Icecrown and bring judgment to Arthas is pretty kino and would be a good game in itself, and that's not even getting into all the shit around Ashbringer.
Problem is it's the prime example of the players having barely relevant roles in the final battle of each expansion.

I'm one of those that never read, what happens in the Sylvanas book? I know it was delayed for a long time and there was speculation of re-writes on Christie Golden's part to make the book Sylvanas's motivations closer to what was happening in game.
Essentially, the Jailer convinces Sylvanas to help him by saying that he's going to change the structure of the Shadowlands, because the way it's currently set up is unjust. She believes him like a dolt and his word is good enough for her to commit genocide on his behalf.

I don't think I agree. There's nothing about the Alliance/Horde conflict that necessitates humans being able to beat orcs one-on-one. The Alliance has mages, paladins, dwarf technology, plenty of ways to even the playing field.
Keep in mind that the whole reason the orcs lost the Second War wasn't because the Alliance overpowered the Horde, it was because Gul'dan went AWOL with a bunch of Doomhammer's troops and fricked him over.
The movie orcs are so much bigger than the humans that a battle between the two factions would be over literally within seconds of their lines meeting. It would be like an army of roman legionnaires mowing down children. The last original member of the Silver Hand (which Arthas betrayed and destroyed) uniting the Scarlets and the Argents to storm Icecrown and bring judgment to Arthas is pretty kino and would be a good game in itself, and that's not even getting into all the shit around Ashbringer.

I'm one of those that never read, what happens in the Sylvanas book? I know it was delayed for a long time and there was speculation of re-writes on Christie Golden's part to make the book Sylvanas's motivations closer to what was happening in game.
Essentially, the Jailer convinces Sylvanas to help him by saying that he's going to change the structure of the Shadowlands, because the way it's currently set up is unjust. She believes him like a dolt and his word is good enough for her to commit genocide on his behalf.
Like I said, WoW story wise was always a shitshow. Everything was either unaccessable or forgetable.

All this coping... The entire lore/story premise of WoW was shit and on shaky ground to begin with. They should have continued where Frozen Throne left off, tie the few loose plot points and then move on to something new within the age old status quo of "Horde and Alliance fight for supremacy in Azeroth".

The orcs use wizardry of treacherous demons to invade and displace humans and elves who join up with other humans and elves in a fantasy race allied powers who try to retake their homeland in a fantasy WWII D-day invasion.
Exactly. Then they added depth on multiple fronts by the time of Warcraft III. Blizzard just dropped the ball though. It took them 4 to 5 expansions to return to that status quo, which is just too long.
