Star wars is not a setting, star wars is a space opera character driven action adventure, star wars is luke, the space monk samurai, the x wings space battles, everything is TOY BASED.
Andor spy story is nothing like that, is something alien to the franchise, is on the same terms as a star wars porn movie, it does no belong.
Is moronic to "evolve/grown up" decades old toy franchises, very few fans like that.
This.
The entire time I kept asking “where’s the lightsabers? Where’s darth Vader? Why hasn’t C3P0 shown up for a silly gag? Where’s Ahsoka?” This is not MY Star Wars!
For me it took me months to finish it coz I kept quitting out of boredom. It's taken me 2 days to watch ahsoka. A lot of women talking which is shit but it's a better show imo.
The andor shills used this as a marketting slogan. Yeah, it does strip away everything that makes star wars interesting: aliens, adventure, special effects. It replaces them with hours of mumbling dialog that ultimately leads nowhere. Oh and tons of coal-black Black folk.
>Star wars is not a setting
I wish more people understood this. The Star Wars universe isn't actually very big, and since Lucas was the only person who was willing or qualified to add brand new things to it (some of which was absolutely hated) it's basically never gonna get bigger. The more people try and make new stories, the more they're going to retread the same old tired characters, locations and themes. It's like an AI trying to extrapolate an image based on a small fragment, all it can do is repeat what is already there in different configurations. Mandalorian Season 1 is still my favourite SW show because it doesn't try hard to be Star Wars, it just has its own identity.

Star Wars is a setting, and it's the broadest setting imaginable. Say blaster instead of laser and have a few beeping robots and call them droids and voila you have star wars. Everything else is negotiable
>Say blaster instead of laser and have a few beeping robots and call them droids and voila you have star wars
The discussion in this very thread and about Andor in general, suggests otherwise. People will always demand more of the things they know and recognize from the films. Besides, having blasters and droids is not a setting. A setting is a universe, with lore and rules and structure. Star Wars never had this in the original films, it was just a small story in a big, unseen galaxy.
>it was just a small story in a big, unseen galaxy.
yes that's what makes it an incredibly broad story
political intrigue or sleazy crime dramas in sci fi megacities, wild west stories on the fringes of civilization with bounty hunters and frontier justice, and anything in between, can all be star wars
>political intrigue or sleazy crime dramas in sci fi megacities, wild west stories on the fringes of civilization with bounty hunters and frontier justice
Those are all really interesting ideas and you could stick them in any sci-fi universe you want. None of them are "Star Wars"
>Star wars is not a setting, star wars is a space opera character driven action adventure
There's plenty of stuff you can do with it, didney are just morons and don't know how to utilise it properly. The mandalorian could have been a great episodic bounty hunter series, but they listened to cr*tics who whinged about there not being enough of an overarching plot and ruined it.
Never fininished 1 episode of Ahsoka. Never watched a full OG Star Wars film. Never got past ep3 of Mandalorian or Boba Fett. Never watched a SW movie after Rogue One.
I have not watched any star wars show apart from this one, I have not watched rogue one and I haven't watched rise of skywalker. It was pre good but had a slow start, jail episode was kino
Yeah Ahsoka is so much better, Gilroy is a boring hack that has never seens Star Wars, if Filoni was in charge he would have made Andor good by connecting it to the wider Star Wars Universe and by putting cool interesting rebels/clone wars characters in it!
Also a Star Wars TV show with no lightsabers and no jedi/sith is like The Avengers without Iron Man, Dtsr Wars just dosen't work when you ignore the central dark side light side conflict of the saga.
I don't understand why Cinemaphile loves Ahsoka so much. It's got zero adult - or teenager - appeal. There should be nothing in there for anyone over 12.
Ahsoka appeals to manbabies. The entire premise is nostalgia bait for a fricking cartoon. Hence why it also attracts the most autistic fans out of the tumblr infested shithole that is Cinemaphile.
>Andor is boring.
Andor is boring because andor is a terribly boring character and if they didn't have shots of different planets you wouldn't even believe this shit is supposed to be scifi or that non human races exist.
even my 12 yo ass would be bored by that garbage. it's slow. there's no interesting characters or drama. no spectacle. no great music. no great action. there's not even funny quips.
No bing bing Wahooo cameo?
🙁
You may prefer Ahsoka since it provides plenty of VRRM VRRM lightsaber fighting and classic character cameos out the ass.

Typical Asshoka fan with the attention span and reading skills of a child. Couldn't even finish reading that anons post before replying.

It didn't need to be a Star Wars story. It could have been set in an original universe. But I would watch this over jedi vs. sith story #372

I can only imagine how much cheetoh dust and mystery sticky goop coats your keyboard.
>actually watching star slop
kino.
Best Star Wars thing I've ever watched.
Never fininished 1 episode of Ahsoka. Never watched a full OG Star Wars film. Never got past ep3 of Mandalorian or Boba Fett. Never watched a SW movie after Rogue One.
Imo, it's their best work so far.
>Best work
>Barely watched any others
Lmao gotta be a trolllol

>Decides that the one thing he has watched is the best.
Absolutely based.

This is one of the .000001% of current shows with competent writing and your IQ is 95 max if you don't like it.

bayland and his autistic apprentice are the only things worthwhile, the rest is horseshit

When I found out there was no baby Grogu, I broke my Switch in half.

Never listen to anybody on this board shilling a new show or movie. None of them can be trusted.
