Yeah, you win that one. Easily.
Sometimes an actor kills a role so much that no one can ever step into it again.
At the risk of being accused of being cringey, I would like to see beefy Simmons in an outfit showing off his arms in a cameo in the Deadpool and Wolverine movie as some sort of Alex Jones type energy announcer for Cassandra Nova, chomping cigars and screaming into a mic during the Mad Max style fights in the vehicles. Think the guitar freak on the truck that just wants to shred but Simmons instead.
Dunno, seems fun, and the movie is going for that vibe.

His short facial hair and short head hair really annoys me and takes me out of the flick. Should have had his Days of Future Past look. He was older in that movie but rocked the look. Thicker hair and mutton chops looked good. This looks fricking stupid. Also why intentionally make them look their age? They even aged up Carrey and Daniels in Dumb and Dumber 2 when they actually looked good in real life.

If it flops capeshit is dead for at least 5 -10 years. Proves audiences are sick of the genre and theyll have to wait a generation to reboot. Nothing of value will be lost.

But, honestly, even marvel know it’s dying. Doubling down on dumbfrick multiverse and quantum blahbah and silver surfer world destroyed shit is pure comic nerd stupid lore territory that mainstream audiences don’t give a frick about.

Where were you when the X-Men saved Marvel again?

      Anonymous

They were the only ones that could've done it. With the Avengers gone (the one that matter anyway) the MCU was left with no one to replace them, so the X-Men were the only ones up to the task, since it's a) a proven successful franchise and b) highly popular for decades.

Not the FF, not the Thunderbolts, not any other team in Marvel's existence.

        Anonymous

In live action, most of the X-Men movies didn't come close to the bigger MCU movies or Spider-Man. The ones without Jackman didn't do that well, and Deadpool outperformed them all. This movie is likely to be the high water mark of anything X-Men related in the MCU.

tbqh it seems really misguided to make a huge deal out of bringing back Huge Jackedman Wolverine, it's like they're giving up the potential of a proper new MCU version of X-Men in favor of short-term "YOU RECOGNIZE THE THING, RIGHT?1" box office success that isn't sustainable.
It's been 7 years since Logan, if they did a good job with introducing a new actor as Wolverine right now people would accept it, but no, they're pushing that back indefinitely and instead giving us shitty CGI Kelsey Grammer Beast etc

        Anonymous

        >short-term "YOU RECOGNIZE THE THING, RIGHT?1"
That's what the MCU's entire Multiverse Saga is built on, the idea that casual normie audiences have massive nostalgia for all those old pre-MCU Marvel movies and it would just be like a victory lap but instead it's been part of the MCU's downward spiral.

For the comics themselves, Spider-Man wasn't actually doing that great during the bankruptcy years, he was stuck in a slump for years after the Clone Saga. Even the whole "X-books kept Marvel alive" narrative isn't really true, people pretend the Heroes Reborn books weren't outselling all but three of the them so they can insist nobody cared about any of those characters until the MCU.
