You don't get it either. Fence sitting and those who are willing to mediate are fine in times of peace, but in times that desperately need change all they do is delay the natural process of change and get in the way. You make the mistake of thinking that people 100% believe that no bad things will happen as a cost of extremism. Rather, they see that bad costs as minimal compared to the good that can be achieved. All relevant civilizations have been crafted on this principle and it is the height of arrogance to assume our civilization made of dumb plebs is any better than past ones. Fence setting is just maintaining the status quo, and the status quo is failing in modern times. People that still believe that "democracy = good at all times" and that "everyone, even morons and malicious people, need a voice and power" are idiots.

Most people are fence sitters by nature, sure, however most don't but into conversations and make shitty posts on an anonymous image board. It depends on the context, and in the case of ridiculing extreme ideologies who want to divert the course of hellish modern society, it is worth calling cowardice.
>You make the mistake of thinking that people 100% believe that no bad things will happen as a cost of extremism. Rather, they see that bad costs as minimal compared to the good that can be achieved.
Sure, but it's still good to have people pointing out the costs and the bad that can come. By definition an extremist will deem the bad as an acceptable cost, but in truth it might not be. They have a skewed view of it.
People who don't fully understand the costs are no better than plebs. Some plebs can still be extremists, but because they cannot see the other side or misinterpret it, their opinions do not matter when it comes to actual policy unless those plebs somehow get the power to make policy.

The whole point of having a cult of personality which many extreme ideologies have is to prevent this very thing. It's not just to inflate the ego of the guy in charge. Also a focus on youth groups like the Hitler Youth and other similar organizations in extreme ideologies reinforces this. No one claims that this system won't eventually corrupt, the whole point is to try and make a system that is symbiotic and checks itself and make the good times last longer.

yeah but that's justin. he's honest
he's like one of those agnostics that honestly does not know if there's a god, and admits it.
I remember a fun interview thing I saw with him, and he starts going on an autopilot eco tangent, and then goes "I mean unless that's not true, and we were lied to." and not in a sarcastic way, but in a realistic "the facts are not the facts" way. Definitely one of the good ones. and I can only assume going through this shit is going to push his needle a bit to the right side of the fence.
I’m at work so haven’t watched it yet but maybe that’s less Justin being gone and more shows kinda going softer these days in general? I feel like it’s happening with Rick and Morty too but it’s actually welcomed there since everyone on that show is a c**t. Well Summer mainly.
Yeah but there's like barely any gay shit in Rick & Morty besides a few one off joke episodes like the Beth/Space Beth thing (which didn't happen until Justin stopped writing for the show)
So I do kinda get the feeling that Justin himself might not have been to comfortable with Terry and Korvo being so openly affectionate with (this season is literally the first time we actually see them doing anything sexual on screen)
>they actually did it
Lmaooo what a pointless gesture. Hulu still has to credit Roiland as co-creator regardless, so all this does is bring MORE attention to what ideally should be swept under the rug. I know the cold open directly addresses and lampoons the voice change, but I imagine the rest of the Solar Opposites crew would want the series to continue as normal from there on. Skyler Page and Chris Savino were still credited in their own shows, so what good does this title card change actually do?
>so what good does this title card change actually do?
Punishes these morons for their moronic decisions by hopefully bringing this farce to a screeching halt.
I didn't know Justin was fired as a Va, saw that the new season dropped, got excited and then was almost immediately so disappointed. His voice is most of the reason I liked the show. I skipped all the way to the last episode of the season to see if they changed his voice back but nope.
Show is ruined. If this happens to Rick and Morty then I guess I'm dropping that too. Sucks to lose two of very the few shows I enjoy. Feels bad, man.
So you're saying you enjoy these shows but something as small as a change of voice is enough for you to completely lose hope in it? I get it that Roiland's voices are good but it sounds like you didn't even like the shows then.
NTA but Roiland's comedic delivery and adlibbing was a major component of the show. Replacing the main VA on a show like this can easily effect the quailty of it's humor. It be like removing Dan Castellaneta and recasting Homer Simpson.
Its more than that Anon.
Rick & Morty was Dan and Justins show. It was their creation. Justin has such a huge impact on it, hes practically half the cast! To remove someone with such a huge reach, a huge investment in a product and property. Its like removing half of the hard drive on your computer.
>I skipped all the way to the last episode of the season to see if they changed his voice back
Don't do this to yourself, just bury it and do not look back.
Somebody was after Roiland, man. I remember when bread tubers were all piling on Rick and Morty with the most hackey and brain dead woke culture attack and criticism videos I ever saw. Then it all died down, and a crazy sexual assault allegation comes against him that got him dropped from the show and then almost immediately the charges disappeared.
Nah, Roiland fricked up in one core regard. The Hollywood types are never afraid of what the verdict is, they're scared of a trial. Once it goes to trial, the charge is public information. Why do you think all those #MeToo cases often involved stories of attempts to settle or hush money? They want these things to be silent BEFORE people can have all the details
Cinemaphile is the microcosm of the internet. If something is popular, it will be popular here. If it’s not popular here, you can bet yo ass it ain’t popular anywhere else.

Do people still even care about any of the shitty shows this guy is in? The stupid cancel attempt aside, Solar Opposites' only appeal is the Wall thing, and Rick and Morty died after they started pandering to the autistic fanbase season 3's premiere spawned.
most outrage grifters, especially those that cover popculture, will always say they are center-center left in an attempt to make themselves seem trustworthy + discredit the left eaiser if it comes from someone that isn't on the opposite side. people like the Quartering still say they aren't conservatives despite everything they say or do say otherwise
>I really doubt Mike McMahan doesn't know more than he lets on kek
He was at best complacent and at worst yet another creep who threw Roiland under the bus to save himself.
We'll probably never know. What we DO know: >domestic abuse charges were dropped months ago over a lack of evidence >he was verifiably messaging 16 year old girls and bragging about inventing Rick and Morty as a way to chase tail >while you can't expect people to jump to his defense and put their own careers on the line, the amount of people going "yeah, actually he was awful all the time, here's a weirdly specific personal memory of a time he was awful at the office" outweighed the people being neutral or refusing to comment by a lot, even in situations where their job security entirely hinged on Roiland existing, like Squanch Games
All we can do is speculate. Personally, the most reasonable version is "toxic relationship boils over into false claims of abuse, but Roiland had been a dick in varied and myriad ways to underlings, equals, AND corporate overlords for his entire career, so everyone was happy to use the HE HURTS WOMEN outrage as their one chance at excising him from their lives without fans getting outraged enough to tank all of his projects"
Rick and Morty will be fine, there will be enough people hate watching the next season/curiously watching the fire. So it’ll get enough views that they’ll think it’s fine next season they’ll lose almost all of them than they’ll get a finale season. Same thing happened to the office when Steve Carell left.
I agree. My point is that firing him for being a shitty coworker/unreliable showrunner at any other time could have easily been taken as "oh, they're trying to steal his show/game/etc" and then you have to deal with a fan revolt (and that could torpedo careers, especially for the game devs, considering when High on Life had to release). Everything is likely to tank without him, but tanking because everyone tries the replacement and agrees the soul was removed at least keeps the projects afloat while everyone finds new jobs, in a way that tanking because Roiland weaponized his cult of personality doesn't. The tanking is almost guaranteed, but the speed of the tanking was controllable.
Doesn’t matter this is modern America, if your canceled your done. Welcome to the new age. Ironically Rick and Morty made a joke in season one about Gaslighting not being real.
>get any VA or different sounding voice that’s funny enough to replace >get the most generic and cliche british accent to be the new voice for Korvo instead
Yeah this is definitely gonna be their last season. Wouldn’t mind an edit of the season with AI voice replacing it.
Liked the show, but not enough to look past the gross drama that I will think of whenever I hear Korvo's replaced voice. I didn't renew Hulu anyways. Pass.
It really bothers me that she's still untouchable. I was willing to excuse Tiffany Haddish in Haunted Mansion and The Afterparty since those two productions' hands were tied and it was too late to re-film EVERYTHING, but if Solar Opposites was able to redub all of Korvo's lines then they def should've recast AISHA by now. I remember there being complaints when it was announced that Haddish return for Girls Trip 2, but that seems to have died down, as with all celebrity controversies.
No one is denying Roiland was a c**t but keeping Tiffany after she literally got child abuse/grooming allegations feels entirely hypocritical but because she's a woman no one is calling that out
Anyway, the biggest difference is that Haddish likely had people who still want to work with her unlike Roiland, it's the same reason why Harmon still has a job. If Roiland was able to keep actual connections, he would still be on his shows.

It seems like Dan Harmon and Alex Hirsch lost contact with Roiland years ago (likely the same with McMahan), but I'm especially curious about Roiland's present relationship with his most recent collaborators: Michael Cusack and anyone he worked with at Squanch Games or on The Paloni Show. Myke Chilian is a buddy of Roiland's from waaaay back in the day (the reason Rick and Morty looks more constructed than Roiland's shitty doodles, Gweeseek/Meeseeks, etc.). He did a Paloni short too. How awkward is it for him right now?

The biggest get Squanch Games had was picking up the Mr. Boop guy and his immediate response when Roiland crashed and burned was to say he was a monster and that he hated working with him.
>Didn't Roiland do frick and all on either show apart from supply voices and get drunk for years now?
Rick & Morty yes but it's still unknown how much involvement he had on Solar Opposites
The fact that the new season has a slightly different tone compared to the last 3 seasons (The characters feel a bit lighter and softer) makes me feel like his absence definitely affected it
>it's still unknown how much involvement he had on Solar Opposites
Seems it quickly became more McMahan's show than Roiland's. This was the writers' room as far back as October 2021. Whatever changes you're feeling from this latest season's writing didn't come from Roiland's firing just a few months back. I'm sure the "lighter tone" was a conscious effort by all the writers that's been a long time coming.
I'm curious if the recast implies they either wanted to move away from Justin's voice or if Justin may own the characterization of the voice? Is that why Korvo has a different voice entirely, rather than an impression?
Is that why nothing's been announced for who will be replacing Justin for R&M?
Or, I'm completely wrong.
The fact that Red Goobler sounds exactly the same despite being recast tells me that they could've easily found a sound alike for Korvo if they wanted to which implies they probably wanted to move away from Justin's voice
I, uhhh, I-I dunno, man. It- it might be good, you know? It could be like- like those animes, you know? Like Ghost in the Shell. Have you ever seen Ghost in the Shell? I-it's good. You should watch it. Anyways, I bet Solar Opposites will be bad without Roiland. Mr Peepee Gazooba probably won't even be in it anymore, you know?
Couldn't stomach watching the first episode. Not worth watching it. Frick the networks that rid Justin Roiland. He was the voice and a damn good one at that. Frick the networks again. I won't support any of them. Since Justin is a multi-millionaire. I hope he funds for a network that airs his shows and other things.

>I'm not going to debate you on Cinemaphile about the worth of democracy or any of that. Maybe that came up earlier in the thread but I wasn't part of that conversation and don't care. I'm talking about how people act, regardless of the particular issue. And how the "fence sitter" insult is usually bullshit.
It depends on the context, and in the case of ridiculing extreme ideologies who want to divert the course of hellish modern society, it is worth calling cowardice.
People who don't fully understand the costs are no better than plebs. Some plebs can still be extremists, but because they cannot see the other side or misinterpret it, their opinions do not matter when it comes to actual policy unless those plebs somehow get the power to make policy.
>their opinions do not matter when it comes to actual policy unless those plebs somehow get the power to make policy.
More likely than you think.
The whole point of having a cult of personality which many extreme ideologies have is to prevent this very thing. It's not just to inflate the ego of the guy in charge. Also a focus on youth groups like the Hitler Youth and other similar organizations in extreme ideologies reinforces this. No one claims that this system won't eventually corrupt, the whole point is to try and make a system that is symbiotic and checks itself and make the good times last longer.
are you not aware they literally are making policy now.
or did I get lost on which they we're talking about here.
Democracy is flawed because of this and it allows a nobility class to form even though it claims to not have nobility. Also the iron law of oligarchy heavily applies deeply.
kek, moron. I can assume you are a democracy/libertarian/ancap gay from this post alone. I'm glad I hate you gays as much as I hate Marxists.
>"Maybe drag queens exposing themselves to children and priests molesting choir boys are both bad things?"
>"lmao frick off "both sides are bad" fence sitter"
That's not fence sitting, that's blowing down the fricking wall. Fence sitting implies passivity.
there are shitloads of people who would disagree
Pleb opinions don't matter to me
>I know plenty of homosexuals IRL
of course you do you fricking homosexual
those are both on the same side, and both responsible for the narrative that they are the two extremes. please stop not-knowing-that.
yeah but that's justin. he's honest
he's like one of those agnostics that honestly does not know if there's a god, and admits it.
Yeah but there's like barely any gay shit in Rick & Morty besides a few one off joke episodes like the Beth/Space Beth thing (which didn't happen until Justin stopped writing for the show)
So I do kinda get the feeling that Justin himself might not have been to comfortable with Terry and Korvo being so openly affectionate with (this season is literally the first time we actually see them doing anything sexual on screen)
this show is literally the cleveland show but rick and morty
yeah, it's great
No. I won't watch it either. Justin got done dirty
I can already tell Glen and the Silver Cops plot line is gonna carry this season
>they removed Justin's name from the credits and the title
Fine I'll watch your show
>they actually did it
Lmaooo what a pointless gesture.
Same. I saw the clip they dropped last month and lost all interest in the show. I don't care for British sounding people
So you're saying you enjoy these shows but something as small as a change of voice is enough for you to completely lose hope in it? I get it that Roiland's voices are good but it sounds like you didn't even like the shows then.
NTA but Roiland's comedic delivery and adlibbing was a major component of the show. Replacing the main VA on a show like this can easily effect the quailty of it's humor. It be like removing Dan Castellaneta and recasting Homer Simpson.
>change of voice
>small
Did you piss off a Hollywood boss, Justin?
Nah, Roiland fricked up in one core regard. The Hollywood types are never afraid of what the verdict is, they're scared of a trial. Once it goes to trial, the charge is public information. Why do you think all those #MeToo cases often involved stories of attempts to settle or hush money? They want these things to be silent BEFORE people can have all the details
Reminder that Mr. Not-Allowed-To-Be-Near-Children lurks here.
I don't have Hulu, can I watch it anywhere else yet?
Why would you? To reward cancel culture and blatant theft of someone else’s intellectual property?
No because I literally can't use Hulu in my country. I give zero fricks about that other shit.
Don't pretend like you aren't watching LibsofTiktok 24/7
I don’t, Mike. There are ways to be a liberal without becoming a brain-rotten regressive woketard like you.
Kim cartoon will probably put it up eventually.
Guess it's too niche now for someone to bother putting up a mega.
If it’s so niche how come it keeps getting renewed? Does the showrunner have dirt on someone in Hollywood?
Niche on Cinemaphile, you absolute shizo. How culture war moronic are you? Frick.
Cinemaphile is the microcosm of the internet. If something is popular, it will be popular here. If it’s not popular here, you can bet yo ass it ain’t popular anywhere else.
Solar Opposites is an accounting scam. A get-rich-quick scheme for its producers.
Cinemaphile is a hive of contrarians. How new are you? If something is widely popular, chances are strong it'll be unpopular on Cinemaphile.
>Cinemaphile is the microcosm of the internet
2007 was 16 year ago. It's time to let go.
Do people still even care about any of the shitty shows this guy is in? The stupid cancel attempt aside, Solar Opposites' only appeal is the Wall thing, and Rick and Morty died after they started pandering to the autistic fanbase season 3's premiere spawned.
>Solar Opposites' only appeal is the Wall thing
Maybe if you're a liberal arts major
non sequitur reply
Hit the nail in the head lol
Hats off to the anon
Yeah I actually didn't care much for those segments after the first couple of episodes.
>Solar Opposites' only appeal is the Wall thing
I personally gave up on this subplot after Tim's death. In that moment it became clear to me that this plot line is not going anywhere is it?
No, it isn't and never was, and only serves to get in the way of watching an otherwise episodic series out of order.
It never was
The trailer about the replacement voice actually made me consider checking this show out again.
funny how anytime Clownfish TVs views dip we start getting thinly veiled to outright shill threads on Cinemaphile
for a youtube channel who claims to support worker's rights they sure shit on the sag aftra strike
WGA and SAG-AFTRA are commie wienerroaches.
most outrage grifters, especially those that cover popculture, will always say they are center-center left in an attempt to make themselves seem trustworthy + discredit the left eaiser if it comes from someone that isn't on the opposite side. people like the Quartering still say they aren't conservatives despite everything they say or do say otherwise
are the accusations even true?
I don't want to defend the guy i just know it alll happened some time ago and didn't hear much of it for a while
Funnily enough is that the incident just so happened right before Solar Opposites came out too
I really doubt Mike McMahan doesn't know more than he lets on kek
>I really doubt Mike McMahan doesn't know more than he lets on kek
He was at best complacent and at worst yet another creep who threw Roiland under the bus to save himself.
We'll probably never know. What we DO know:
>domestic abuse charges were dropped months ago over a lack of evidence
>he was verifiably messaging 16 year old girls and bragging about inventing Rick and Morty as a way to chase tail
>while you can't expect people to jump to his defense and put their own careers on the line, the amount of people going "yeah, actually he was awful all the time, here's a weirdly specific personal memory of a time he was awful at the office" outweighed the people being neutral or refusing to comment by a lot, even in situations where their job security entirely hinged on Roiland existing, like Squanch Games
The projects will tank since he did the majority of the dialog and that'll be either poor impressions or radically different.
Rick and Morty will be the test
Ironically Rick and Morty made a joke in season one about Gaslighting not being real.
it's not good but I think I'm just tired of the characters and the premise
>get any VA or different sounding voice that’s funny enough to replace
>get the most generic and cliche british accent to be the new voice for Korvo instead
Yeah this is definitely gonna be their last season. Wouldn’t mind an edit of the season with AI voice replacing it.
>Yeah this is definitely gonna be their last season.
It literally got renewed for a 5th season a few months back
>It literally got renewed for a 5th season a few months back
Yeah that will be the last season
Liked the show, but not enough to look past the gross drama that I will think of whenever I hear Korvo's replaced voice. I didn't renew Hulu anyways. Pass.
>Tiffany Haddish
>Tiffany Haddish
So lemme get this straight. Justin Roiland has to leave but this b***h gets to stay on?
When will this sexist propaganda end?
It really bothers me that she's still untouchable. I was willing to excuse Tiffany Haddish in Haunted Mansion and The Afterparty since those two productions' hands were tied and it was too late to re-film EVERYTHING, but if Solar Opposites was able to redub all of Korvo's lines then they def should've recast AISHA by now. I remember there being complaints when it was announced that Haddish return for Girls Trip 2, but that seems to have died down, as with all celebrity controversies.
It's almost like Justin Roiland was completely unlikable and everyone was glad to get rid of him.
No one is denying Roiland was a c**t but keeping Tiffany after she literally got child abuse/grooming allegations feels entirely hypocritical but because she's a woman no one is calling that out
Weren't those charges dropped?
Anyway, the biggest difference is that Haddish likely had people who still want to work with her unlike Roiland, it's the same reason why Harmon still has a job. If Roiland was able to keep actual connections, he would still be on his shows.
>Weren't those charges dropped?
Justin's were too
>If Roiland was able to keep actual connections, he would still be on his shows.
But this is factually correct. The animation world is filled with nothing but pure nepotism. As long as you've got connections you can completely get away with anything
Iirc weren't those all old Newgrounds guys? Feels like they'd step back since from what I can tell, people in the animation industry now are frothing at the mouth to get them for making fun of them back when they were weird LiveJournal kods
>Michael Cusack and anyone he worked with at Squanch Games or on The Paloni Show.
Even if they're still in contact with Roiland, making it public would be career suicide for them.
The biggest get Squanch Games had was picking up the Mr. Boop guy and his immediate response when Roiland crashed and burned was to say he was a monster and that he hated working with him.
>Korvo got a entirely different voice
>The Red Goobler sounds nearly the same
b***h what the frick???
Does anyone have a mega?
I don't
I'm really looking forward to this. I'm done with Mech Cadets and need a new show to binge.
Didn't Roiland do frick and all on either show apart from supply voices and get drunk for years now?
>He thinks voice acting is not work
Frick off with your shit tier opinion
Literally random Youtubers can do it.
>Literally random Youtubers can do it.
If that is the cae, why are you not making money from it? Hmmmm? Where is your house, your fame, your wealth? where is it if it's so easy to you.
Go on, spit out more shit tier opinions. Scream into the void as loud as you can, here on Cinemaphile. Do it, homosexual.
>Ignoring the industry incest.
I can pretty much tell you're just shitposting.
>I UH UH I RAN OUT OF RETORTS UHH UH UH YOU'RE THE SHIT POSTER!!!!
MMM HHMMM
>He thinks it's about talent and hard work and not just knowing the right guy.
Boomer delusion.
>It's really all of the above, network, talent, and hard work.
> HEHE I CALLED YOU A BOOMER, I WIN!
Right...
If talent and hard work actually applied the industry wouldn't be the gutter right now.
>anon's never been in the inudstry
>anon has never worked a day in his life.
>anon is an armchair schizo.
>Defending a dying industry he has no part in.
Is this your role in life, anon?
>dying industry
>Is on Cinemaphile
Your hypocrisy is laughable.
OOOOooooo, Got him again, Anon. Another Ruin!
>Boomer delusion.
You sure got him, Anon. Thread Ah ruined!
>HE STILL GUILTY BECAUSE..............
>hehehhHES TILL USE MKAY!?
Why are youtubers such garbage suck up for commies?
I can't even finish episode one. How are you nerds excited for this Rick and Morty clone
Solar Opposites was never good
why would you watch a show that did that
do you think if you placate them, they won't do it to you? they'll do it to you, anon.
This has to probably be the longest Solar Opposites thread that I've ever seen on this website
Althought granted it's mostly because of the Justin Roiland controversy but still
It is vastly superior to Rick & Morty post S2 and I'm tired of pretending like it isn't
I've seen longer, mostly when anons finally admitted what made them horniest about the show.
Wish I had been here for that thread
Also CUTE!
2 hours for what?
When the new season came out at midnight
Everyone only likes The Wall subplot anyway
I hope with Roiland gone there's less forth wall breaking jokes, season 3 had way too many
>season 3 had way too many forth wall breaking jokes
Did it?
I liked it
If I owned a foreign animation studio I would hire Roiland to make a successor to Either R&M or SO, and eat these homosexuals lunch.
Where is that from Anon? It looks familiar...
Son of the White Mare.
If Justin actually lived in the east he'd still be making big bucks since the east doesn't give about grooming allegations
Just look at the creator of Ruroni Kenshin. Dude had real life child porn and got away with it scott free and is still out there doing his thing
grass tastes bad
Has anyone ever drawn the Opposites as irkens? would be an amusing idea
