there is literally one black guy in the whole show, holy shit you people are fragile lmao--also the asian girl scientist and the black guy are actual characters from the books, they just first appear in the second and third books, god you people are so stupid
Nobody is trying to erase them; they're all over Cinemaphile, safe and sound. You can scan for them by saying Asians have small dicks and they call back with something something black wieners!!!!
Bearing in mind the concept of hard science fiction, what would happen if I unfolded my proton-sized wiener in 2D while inside a three-dimensional human vegana?
They catered to the normie audience, especially to white women. Dumbed down science, bare-bones plot, no sense of supense or atmosphere, awful characters and unbearably bad quippy dialogue. How can anyone with half a brain can say that this is a good adaptation?
DO NOT WATCH THE NETFLIX VERSION WATCH THE CHINK ADAPTATION OR READ THE BOOKS
the countdown is a bluff to try to demoralize you from fighting back, once they see it isn't going to work they stop and leave you alone because they can't actually do anything on the macro scale till their ships arrive
It was good until they scene where they came up with the plan to use a chain of nuclear explosions in space to accelerate a ship to .01c. Everything felt ridiculous and not even believable as sci-fi after this.
good bait

both are chinks, there are no Black folk in the book
Never read the book, Never will read the book. That said I enjoyed it well enough. 6/10. Diversity hires weren't that annoying. Too much girl power slop but wasn't unwatchable because of it.

except that is a real proposal from reality called Project Orion that the U.S. did start to develop and is based on a real phenomenon known as nuclear thermal propulsion, god you are so fricking stupid dude lmao

What went wrong?
nothing, it was pretty good outside of the first episode, the real issue is Cinemaphile is full of morons who think they are smarter than they are
That's actual science, you got filtered when they gave you real science....... you inbred.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_pulse_propulsion#Medusa
did you not watch the show? they say why, its basically what this guy
Because it's incredibly difficult and lacking in immediate results while also using a sizeable number of our nuclear armaments.
said, they explicitly said all of this in the show are you a moron? are you unable to follow what happens on a screen? do you scroll through tiktok while you watch or something? genuinely baffled how you could be this dumb
Calm down sweatie.
I'm not giving out (You)s to the others who clearly get their science knowledge from IFLS.com. Project Orion is so absurd it's not even passable as sci-fi. Just because it was a government funded program at some point doesn't mean it's good science. Just read the Wikipedia section "Potential Problems (and note it's the bulk of the article)
If it was "actual science" why did the panel of "actual scientists" scoff at her idea?

it always amazes how the biggest critics of this show are the stupidest
Because they are elitists and wanted real solutions not crude af solutions. But wade liked it and in the books her superior liked it.
>nuclear propulsion idea fails because...uhh... somebody didn't tighten a bolt enough!
They couldn't have just made a math or timing error during a split second window? They had to make everyone involved look like a moron instead?
Bro several nations tried to land a rover on the moon. Indian missed it's location, US tipped over, Russia crashed, Japan did a 180, Another american lander didn't even make it to the moon and I think UK also fricked itself. Can you see a trend here friend? This shit is HARD
the idea of a planet size omniscent computer that can track everybody and record and analyze everything in real time and provide innovative solutions on the fly does not confound you?
everyone shitting on this guy can't explain how the dude's brain could survive the insane acceleration. in fact, the entire probe would be squashed to shit after the first nuke.
>nuclear propulsion idea fails because...uhh... somebody didn't tighten a bolt enough!

Spaceflight is difficult and complicated. Shit will go wrong in 11 different ways. A math error is no more or less moronic than a bolt being pried loose by multiple fricking nukes. Sometimes it's a math error like that Japanese moon landing the other day, sometimes it's tiles coming off a shuttle, and sometimes a bolt comes loose.
>aliens can frick with your vision >they can’t read our thoughts
seems like a big assumption they can’t do that. no clue how they jumped to that conclusion
in the books when the aliens talk to the extremist humans, they realize really quickly that the aliens are really dumb and childlike when it comes to intrigue. The aliens don't know what a lie is because they can read each others thoughts since their brainwaves are visually visible due to them being transparent. When they are unable to do the same to humans it freaks them out because humans can easily trick them, which is one of the reasons why they want to wipe out humanity so much because it is super dangerous to them. It is a pretty major plot point in the second book

they understood what a metaphor is after first time encountering one, so i dont think they are as autistic in the show as you think.
and i read spoilers and i hate what comes up but theres a lot of room here to make an interesting original story with the way current things are set up. i just hate knowing how it ends up, gives me no hope for future seasons unless dnd completely rip the story to shreds. which i hope is what happens.
I don't think they'll rip the story to shreds but the ending probably does gets changed. It's probably too weird for audiences as is and I'd bet they are sensitive after the criticism of GoT's ending.
the ending is fine, humanity gets punished for being selfish and weak and not trying to make sacrifices, while those that seeked to survive and strike out into the abyss despite the consequences become the future. My only criticism is that the main b***h from book 3 didn't die with everybody else like she deserved.
humanity isnt selfish or weak though, thats just the author coping. probably because hes chinese. in american first contact films the aliens usually get fricked up in the end because animals are essentially wild animals but slightly less dangerous, and humanity's mandate is to snuff out whatever tries to threaten it, aussies legitimately mobilized their military when emus started threatening their farmers and lead a battle against the local population. any good alien story needs to end up in aliens getting herded into pens for questioning and executions, and then humanity deploying on space ships to go frick them upp.
If aliens exist irl we would get stomped. A civilization that managed to crack interstellar travel will find it trivial to accelerate a couple of asteroids to extinction level speeds and send it our way.
I posted this same thing in the other thread, but I think it's worth repeating because I didn't get a satisfactory answer. It makes little sense to me that the aliens are able to remotely screw with particle accelerators or print numbers into people's vision yet seem limited in other ways. If their plan is to conquer Earth and they have a granular enough level of control to screw with subatomic reactions light years away, they can't do something simple like kill all humans instantly with an engineered virus or something like that.
I heard that the series is like Terra Invicta meets The Expanse so I tried watching it with the lady and literally could not make it half the episode. I'm just sick to death of this DEI trash. I'll try reading the books at some point, I'm quite sure that the show is just some loosely-based bullshit that changes everything to women and blacks anyway.
>What went wrong?
They cut out half the Red Base story
They've given sophons some kind of indeterminate psychic powers over humans
They didn't really have Auggie do anything other than get bullied by Wade
The fat frick only existed to die
They cut half the video game scenes including one very important one
Too much focus on cancer guy
The sfx were mid for the boat exterior and the flashing sky
Most of this is nitpicking though. I would call it very good if they cut half the "i'm dying but I won't tell her I love her" bullshit for the video game level where the aliens tell the player exactly how shitty their world is and how broken the people are.
No. Only frauds break out out buzzwords in front of normies. Real scientists strive to explain things in the simplest possible and most broadly understandable language and only use technical terms when necessary.
No, we do not. If asked we try to explain it to them in terms they can understand, but not in a condescending way. We also simplify things when talking with other scientists from other fields. >t. Organic Chemistry PhD student.
Here is how I would do it if I was a scientist trying to explain to a normie what I do: >I run a company that designs synthetic polymers, think of nylon, for example, that have a wide range of applications. >I'm a researcher in the Physics group at Imperial College. Currently I'm analyzing results from particle accelerators from all over the world.
Yes, have you not heard of Niel Degrasse Tyson?
Scientists are the most embarrassing people there are
Their entire field is literally held hostage by the claim that men can get pregnant
>Yes, have you not heard of Niel Degrasse Tyson?
I'm blown away that he didn't have a cameo in this show after ep 5 during the montage with Biden's reaction
The scene was stupid but that's pretty much the only scene of its type in the show.
Do real scientists really like flexing their knowledge on normal people like this?
Right before that webm the women are bemoaning that their favorite spot has turned into a karaoke bar.
They don't give the guy shit in any way, he plays along and leaves because it's his turn to sing.
You are sensitive.
>should we stop going to this bar which clearly went downhill long ago? >should we just tell the guy we're not interested politely? >nah lets show him we're bad science b***hes and make him feel small for trying to hit on some chicks at a bar
They weren't that bad. They mostly just said what they did. I'm sure you brag about what you do at work sometimes, too, right? Wendy's should be proud to have you.

here, I generally agree with you. It was a little on the nose imo but not that bad compared to a lot of media nowadays. They don't really belittle the dude, and he doesn't seem to really care.
why the frick did they turn the main character from a nerdy (but brilliant) asian man into a white woman with a BBC fetish? seriously, how the frick do we stop the woke mind virus? they've gone too far.

Jesus Christ, frick off.
i find it stupid that alien civilization capable of interstellar travel who is able to build planet sized computer which can transfer data with faster than light speed would ever be scared of humans, even in fricking 400 years we wont even be close to that, not only they can watch our progress and copy everything but also do their own + they can easily delay our research. Also that part when for no reason they revealed the plan to entire world that they are going to kill us is moronic af.
The idea of civilizational stagnation and rapid progress is a major theme in the books. ie alot of progress can happen in a short amount of time if a civilization is put under the right conditions, so you can never sleep on an enemy that you have a tech lead on. The idea is that if left alone humanity could have a sudden major tech progress explosion that is enough to destroy the expeditionary fleet in 400 years since the fleets tech won't progress.
The author is also probably trying to convey the idea that too much censorship and authoritarianism can stagnate a society as a metaphor for maoist china, and that opening things up is a good thing.
This. There is just so much shit that doesn't make sense in 3 Body Problem. But it throws so much intelligent-sounding technical jargon at the audience that pseudo-intellectuals believes it's actually a "smart" story even if the main plot line breaks down under even minor scrutiny from a normie.
maybe they hibernate during travel, but that also doesnt make sense they have earth sized super computer with advanced AI, it can handle to spy on all research data on earth but cant do it itself, Humans are already losing to a primitive LLM ran on vide game GPUS and singularity will probably mean end of employment for most of us, theres no way super advanced ai cant do research by itself.
Taking a shit in someone's particle accelerator and scaring them with fake numbers isn't lying to them.
It felt forced to me that the Irish guy who was running the investigation into the mysterious deaths of scientists was suddenly in charge of a space program to meet up with aliens.
It was forced. They merged two unrelated stories together to keep their main characters together.
The show doesn't have time for any of it's ideas to breathe for even a second
Which is probably for the best because they are bad, shitty versions of ideas that were told way better in other ways ie the book or chink show
This show is just bad.
It felt forced to me that the Irish guy who was running the investigation into the mysterious deaths of scientists was suddenly in charge of a space program to meet up with aliens.

The original material was written by a Chinese man with a very nonsensical Chinese view of the world. Then it was handed over to 2 dumbasses who fricked up Game of Thrones to translate to a TV show.

I must have missed something in the Chink one because I'm confused why the Global Defense Org or whatever is with all the generals is convened from the start. Did they know about the aliens or were they organized because of the weird shit with the scientists?
Yes. Dead scientists. They bring Ding Ye in to investigate the dead scientists and infiltrate the ETO (They technically do not know it's the ETO yet but they suspect there is foul play from an organization).
Why couldn't the aliens travel to another planet and terraform it? Are they just so autistic that they need someone else to politely invite them to come over?
Aliens only have one planet in their solar system. Nearest solar system is Earth's. Time is a factor as their planet could be destroyed at any time.
>live in the worst possible solar system imaginable >somehow manage to achieve incredible progress in all scientific fields >closest planet to yours is capable of sustaining life and has a perfect stable orbit >somehow never have the need to study it until some random chinese woman contacts you
This shit is looking worse and worse chief
Boring characters. The book at the same problem, but at least the book knew it was just using them to exposition dump scifi lorebuilding on you. The show forces the shitty boring characters on and skips all the lore also.
> Cut to a scene with a particle accelerator > show DEI science man > compare him to Einstein >"Science is broken n sheeeit'
> Cut to a scene in a bar > Man goes to a bar to try to meet people > approaches two women > small talk > well actually I'm a nuclear physicist and I've been published all around the world and Bubba blah blah blah
Turn that shit off. If anybody finish this entire series they are fricked in the head.
Why couldn't the aliens travel to another planet and terraform it? Are they just so autistic that they need someone else to politely invite them to come over?
They evolved and repeatedly got near extinct in a triple star system which is rare itself, no time for terraforming. Their fleet was already in space when they made contact with earth. According to the dark forest hypothesis which was inspired by the book, if first radio contact is made it is kill or be killed as humans would scientifically surpass them before they reach earth. Humans would likely destroy their home world and fleet first, that is their logic.
>How true to the book is the Chinese version? Is there actually a chapter on the trail of the Trisolaran that send a pacifist message?
word for word and yes
I downloaded chinese version and it literally starts with the chick who sends the aliens the massage to aliens, cuckflix version had a lot of more context to things which happened before, did i miss ep or its supposed to start that way?
Chinese version of the book pseudo-censors the cultural revolution stuff by shoving it in the middle instead of the beginning
I'm no expert, but I think the Chinese censors do read the book.
I also think the Chinese censors strongly prefer for the embarrassing stuff to be sandwiched in between the actual story the reader is invested in versus being on the first fricking page/scene.
It's really not that cool unless you really don't like reading. Adapting word for word means the pacing is atrocious and it's not a story that is super elevated by strong acting or visuals even if the show had them.
I downloaded chinese version and it literally starts with the chick who sends the aliens the massage to aliens, cuckflix version had a lot of more context to things which happened before, did i miss ep or its supposed to start that way?
the one and only thing that wokeflix got right was the opening scene. you can turn it off after that because it's just woke trash. ignore the shills who respond to this or say otherwise. and yes, there are shills out in full force defending this trash adaptation.
the Chinese version is better as far as being closer to the book, but the pacing is very slow and boring. honestly just read the book and ignore the shows, you'll have a much better time.
they never show themselves, but we get some descriptions of what they are like. They can travel really fast enough that the "human computer" idea actually works for them. They are transparent and have lights that flash inside them (another reason the human computer works) and these lights also reveal they are thinking so they can't lie to each other. They can also dehydrate themselves like a tardigrade sort of and keep themselves alive for very long periods.
this is an extremely likely scenario since it's book-accurate, will save on CGI, and if they do make it people will complain regardless of what they look like
Well all the chink versions are done without the author's input, whereas the Netflix one has him on board. He never wanted them to be shown, so they probably won't be.
nobody here has read the prequel where ward was the first contact with the hot sophon and when she revealed that he couldn't freeze himself forever to bone her in eternity he went calmly mad and dedicated everything to destroy all trisolarans but that was the plan all along because 2d entities entirely unmentioned in the original trilogy had planned it all out using anime to dull the 3d weaklings with only hints of their existence. tldr lmao wait for the last season if they make it that far, you'll see
>have to use subtitles to watch Chinese version of the show that apparently uses the book as a script
does nobody see how ridiculous this is or does everyone on this board speak Chinese?
Dimension just means property. You see 3 dimensions but there are other properties like smell.
Then there are other properties we can't perceive. It's suggested everything is made of waves, which is a lot easier to conceptualize if you go read about discrete cosine transformation; how images are compressed.
Lastly there is the idea some dimensions are 'the same direction', like entropy and time increase in the same direction.
Don't think too hard about it.
If it made any sense then it would be reality instead of a fictional device meant to emphasise that an alien society is far more technologically advanced than our own.
The more I watch this show the baffled I am by moronic it is >NO WE CAN'T USE A MISSILE TO SINK THE SHIP WHAT IF WE DESTROY ONE OF THE HARD DRIVED >Let's just slice to whole ship to ribbons with nano fibers
They were supposed to be normal hard drives and it some super quantum encryption drive. They also wanted all the drives and didn't care about slicing them. They were trying to prevent them from actively deleting the data which they would do if they realized they were under attack.
>Post opinion >showcase video adding to that opinion with lengthy criticism >cry about how I'm posting another person's argument, like a baby >You're a complete dumbass and shouldn't be trusted to operate scissors
The only thing it shows is that you don't think for yourself.

The eye in the sky is not a sophon. I mean, it is in the show, I suppose. In the books the eye is an advanced species Trisolarians unfolded by accident from within a photon into their upper 3rd dimension, which they had to kill. They kept it in the show and I guess it is an unfolded sophon in the show, but that's not for sure.
The Trisolarians did not have an easy time making the sophons, and once out of fricking nowhere after unfolding a photon they were attacked by some weird ass evangelian angel type monster that looked kind of like an eye. They blew it up pretty quickly, and just tried to not think about wtf had just happened. I don't think it was ever brought up again.

I think it was supposed to be a hint at the higher dimension beings from the third book who lived in the four dimensional space bubble because they couldn't survive in the three dimensional universe.

>Lived in the 4D bubble
You mean the grave they met before they destroyed the droplet from within? I was under the impression that 4D grave they met was actually the same thing that happened to our solar system when it was flattened into 2D, but they were originally a 5D species who could not survive in only 4D. I actually haven't finished the very last chapter of book 3, and I heard it actually flat out states what I suspected about the 4D grave, but idk.
Anonymous
If I remember correctly the bubble was gradually collapsing into 3D just like our solar system collapsed into 2D, and the 4D beings inside would be killed when it did so, hence the 4D space being a grave but it's been a few years since I read.
Anonymous
Yeah, they met a grave floating in 4D space which had an AI they could talk to, but that was because I assume their society was flattened from 5D space and to them 4D space is like 2D is to us, which is why their grave is floating within 4D space. I started reading all 3 books when the year started, so some of it is fairly fresh in my memory.
Anonymous
The implication is the 4d area was just a remnant of the 4d universe that was traveling about via some force. They imply the collapsing of dimensions imparts a force on everything akin to what we know as dark energy. I like how the author couldn't even explain his 4d bubble universe shit so they just say "its too hard to explain" and then they give the 4d thing a fish and leave.

I tend to believe it was just a grave for a 4d civ that was aware that the space it occupied was collapsing, because it was fully functional and recognizable as a monument within the 4g space
2 months ago
Anonymous
Hmmm. Well, your explanation also kinda makes sense. But if you had the time to make a GOOD grave, instead of just tossing your paintings out into space like Saul/Luo Ji did, then I bet some type of big AI structure that could operate in a lower dimension would be what you'd make.
There were a lot of other graves, which I assume were other 5D species that got flattened because of 5D dark forest attacks. That 4D bubble was just a big graveyard, but the shrinking of 4D space wasn't what killed them, it was just the end of their graveyard.
I still think my theory makes more sense.

Showrunners are Weiss and Benioff. People have this impression that they were actually good at their jobs when they're motivated and doing an adaptation. They were never good. Ever. They had some good seasons in early GoT because GRRM babysat them and HBO executives bullied the frick out of them. It had nothing to do with their actual ability.
I haven't watched all 30 hours of the chinese series, but this is from the episode that people are shilling as "the chinese did it better." If this is the best they can do, then I can only imagine how bad the chink version actually gets.
These are in-game. In the tencent there is much more game and they distinguish it from the live action with PS3 graphics.
None of the adaptations for The Dark Forest are going to be satisfying at all. The animated adaptation was weird and kind but f stupid, but it will still end up being the best of the three.
Why didn't they realize that the actual issue was the human extremists and not the aliens? All they had to do was weed out and infiltrate and wipe them out. The aliens can't tell if humans are lying, they shouldn't be able to tell if their human collaborators get replaced. They have 400 years to find the human traitors and then feed the aliens shit info that makes them fly into the solar system's version of Detroit

Because of the CGI? It's supposed to be a human develop video game on short notice by the ETO who just guessed what they looked like. It's far closer to the book.

is the writing in the books, I'd rather try to work my way through Infinite Jest.
It's always abstract when talking about them, idk what your problem is with it. But large parts of the series are a huge drag; I really love how Netflix's is trimming so much fat and getting all three books to fit into one story, with the characters all knowing eachother and being there from day one.
There being an entire chapter for the creation of sophon is because it's the climax of the book. Like how the droplet is the climax of The Dark Forest. What you consider a huge drag is what the books are about.
I didn't see it as a drag, but the imaginary waifu, the australia parts, the mental seal ammounting to fricking noting, even though it is a cool concept.

I do not recall them being sealed. iirc he was about to be arrested by the crew of 4 ships including the one he hijacks but once they hear about the fleet being btfo they decide he was right and continue on.
iirc all that came from the mental seal plot was humans advancing computer tech a shit ton and then after the wallbreaker was revealed to have sabotaged the mental seal project the humans said "we knew this was a bad idea in the first place" and shutting it down
With that being said it's been a few years since I read The Dark Forest.
He's just shit at writing people. It's one of the greatest flaws in the books imo. He has this sort of platonic ideal of people and just writes to that.
All the Western men are arrogant, all the Russian men are pragmatic and all the women are kind and empathetic to a fault.
They give him a ship and a pocket universe and he takes it to the planet that he bought for Cheng, where he lives happily ever after with her best friend AA

The series of events is: >Cheng and AA arrive on planet blue >They meet guy from spaceship Gravity there >Gravity guy takes Cheng on tour of solar system >AA stays behind because Cancerman is about to get there >Death lines hit and turn system into black domain >Cheng and Gravity guy sleep for millions of years or some shit while the neural computer comes online because regular computers cant work in black domain >Cheng and gravity guy arrive on planet to find millions of years have passed and the only remains of cancerman and AA are carved on bedrock >Cancerman leaves the pocket universe he got form Trisolarns as gift for Cheng.

Trisolarans had the tech anywhere between 1-287 years after the Black Forest strike depending on where Tianming was before the aliens dropped him off.
There are some convoluted scenarios that could involve them having it later but none seem very likely because AA wasn't registered in the pocketverse.

Its totally answered, moron.

Because dimensional warfare gets fricked up. Eventually lots of civilizations abandon the whole fight and create pocket universes, but a group that monitors the amount of mass left to start the universe over in 11D urges them to give back the matter as the process won't restart without it.
There's a brane-wide call to disassemble all pocket universes.

No, its from the very canon Death's End. I don't red fanfiction.

Thats not exactly true. It is implied that both Humanity and the Trisolarans go on to build a lasting presence in the universe 10's of millions of years into the future.

Spoiler, but
Thats not exactly true. It is implied that both Humanity and the Trisolarans go on to build a lasting presence in the universe 10's of millions of years into the future.
It has been proven that when shown images of interracial couples, scientists literally found the same stress proteins in people's saliva that they find when showing people images of maggots.
This is the reason why they constantly spam interracial couples. The typical brain response of white men and women seeing IR couples of the opposite sex is stress, threat, and disgust. ((They)) want white people to be in a constant state of flight or fight and despair, unable to have healthy productive lives beyond being tax cattle. Aware that we’re going extinct but helpless to do anything about it
>((They)) want white people to be in a constant state of flight or fight and despair, unable to have healthy productive lives beyond being tax cattle. Aware that we’re going extinct but helpless to do anything about it
You're overreaching there.
I like the approach of doing all 3 books at once. They didn't do a good job of establishing why the nanomaterial was important though. no mention of space elevators and apparently they are just going to build ships on the moon for some frickin reason? Didn't hate any of the characters except Auggie who is unfortunately going to be sticking around filling the role of AA obviously. Wonder if they will have the pajeet be Zhang Behai
I think you missed quite bit, but it all does go by so quickly. >Moon
Jin tells Wade forcing Sophons to go to/from the moon will help reduce what they can pull off. >Nanoparticle
Used in the sail but yeah no mention of space elevator yet >Auggie
But if she is also Saul's dream girl then she'll have to go to sleep at some point
My favorite change is how there are now nearly 300 nukes already in space from the early failure of staircase, so Saul can use those to do deterence.
you're right anon I've had a few and I was thinking more about the books than what was explained in the show. I hope you are right about Auggie but she is also the cheng xin stand-in's best friend so I'm not optimistic. hopefully they are both on ice for most of season 2 for Dark Forest kino
They clearly are going to on some level with what's been set up. I wouldn't bet on it sticking to it too much, but I don't really care because that's what the chink version and books are for.
The 2D solar system was completely moronic.
I understand that all the science in the books is based on string theory and in string theory, folding space into a lower dimension can make sense. But the fact that character can SEE the 2D solar system is completely deranged, how the frick is light travelling in and out of 2D space, why is something in 2D space reflecting light in a non 2D direction. It literally describes people getting turned into flat Stanley. Complete nonsense for a series that's 'HARD' sci-fi. Might look cool on on the show though.
>space reflecting light in a non 2D direction
Because we're in a higher dimension and can observe lower dimensions just fine. That's how it is. The ray reflecting off on that axis wouldn't mean anything to flatlanders, but its no problem for us.
Good to hear that the Spanish conquistadors and English colonisers have had their image renewed in the eyes of woke morons from evil invaders to misunderstood migrants.

there is literally one black guy in the whole show, holy shit you people are fragile lmao--also the asian girl scientist and the black guy are actual characters from the books, they just first appear in the second and third books, god you people are so stupid
Holy frick you're moronic beyond belief. Do you know the difference between a character in a book and the fricking casting of a character in a book?
Black and Latina boss girl geniuses? Unrealistic.
Why are you trying to erase asians incel?
Nobody is trying to erase them; they're all over Cinemaphile, safe and sound. You can scan for them by saying Asians have small dicks and they call back with something something black wieners!!!!
Asians have small dicks but the only white guys who frick asians also have small dicks. BWC can’t fit
>NOOOOO HOW DARE YOU QUESTION AMERICA'S OBSESSION WITH BLACKS
kys chud
Pretty sure BBC spam is literally just an Asian chud invention.
D N D
is she supposed to be Chinese or Japanese?
American
She'll never settle for proton-sized asian dicks.
Bearing in mind the concept of hard science fiction, what would happen if I unfolded my proton-sized wiener in 2D while inside a three-dimensional human vegana?
Laotian.
The ocean? Which ocean?
I'm still not sure if she was bad at acting or her face is incapable of expressing emotion
She's a scientist. They're just cold and calculating like that
She looks so weird. I like looking at her face. She is really not pretty.
She's got a nice ass for an Asian girl.
They catered to the normie audience, especially to white women. Dumbed down science, bare-bones plot, no sense of supense or atmosphere, awful characters and unbearably bad quippy dialogue. How can anyone with half a brain can say that this is a good adaptation?
For the love of god what happens at zero?
The sophons basically torture you until it becomes unbearable and then you either have a nice day or stop doing le science.
all the did was show a clock countdown. if you're such a pussy that you pay attention to a deadline without context, you deserve everything bad
You learn that the numbers can't actually hurt you and you can use your razor wire to massacre women and children freely 🙂
They deliberately chose to space out the wire to ensure even children would be cut up.
Like we said in the last thread, fricking nothing. It was literally a scare tactic.
DO NOT WATCH THE NETFLIX VERSION WATCH THE CHINK ADAPTATION OR READ THE BOOKS
the countdown is a bluff to try to demoralize you from fighting back, once they see it isn't going to work they stop and leave you alone because they can't actually do anything on the macro scale till their ships arrive
good bait
both are chinks, there are no Black folk in the book

>WATCH THE CHINK ADAPTATION
im sorry chang, not gonna watch 30, thats THIRTY, fricking episodes.
The Chinese show is comfy to put on in the background late at night or on a 2nd monitor after you already read the books and know the story
t.Tencent shill
It was watchable until the aliens revealed themselves, then it turned in to something completely different. I lost interest there
Never read the book, Never will read the book. That said I enjoyed it well enough. 6/10. Diversity hires weren't that annoying. Too much girl power slop but wasn't unwatchable because of it.
I agree with this assessment. It's good enough to watch but not good enough to recommend.
It was good until they scene where they came up with the plan to use a chain of nuclear explosions in space to accelerate a ship to .01c. Everything felt ridiculous and not even believable as sci-fi after this.
>It was good until they scene where they came up with the plan to use a chain of nuclear explosions in space to accelerate a ship to .01c. Everything felt ridiculous and not even believable as sci-fi after this.
except that is a real proposal from reality called Project Orion that the U.S. did start to develop and is based on a real phenomenon known as nuclear thermal propulsion, god you are so fricking stupid dude lmao
nothing, it was pretty good outside of the first episode, the real issue is Cinemaphile is full of morons who think they are smarter than they are
Project Orion was fricking stupid, though. I think Freeman Dyson just wanted free gummint money.
Why is this unbelievable? It's based on the Orion project. It's probably the most believable thing in the series.
moron
That's actual science, you got filtered when they gave you real science....... you inbred.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_pulse_propulsion#Medusa
If it was "actual science" why did the panel of "actual scientists" scoff at her idea?
Because it's incredibly difficult and lacking in immediate results while also using a sizeable number of our nuclear armaments.
did you not watch the show? they say why, its basically what this guy
said, they explicitly said all of this in the show are you a moron? are you unable to follow what happens on a screen? do you scroll through tiktok while you watch or something? genuinely baffled how you could be this dumb
Good to know you're just fricking stupid.
>ad hominem
Your concession is accepted
Just returning your original ad hominem, bro.
it always amazes how the biggest critics of this show are the stupidest
>to the others who clearly get their science knowledge from IFLS.com
>I get my science from wikipedia
oh my lol
Because they are elitists and wanted real solutions not crude af solutions. But wade liked it and in the books her superior liked it.
Bro several nations tried to land a rover on the moon. Indian missed it's location, US tipped over, Russia crashed, Japan did a 180, Another american lander didn't even make it to the moon and I think UK also fricked itself. Can you see a trend here friend? This shit is HARD
You got understand a proton has 11 dimensions!
the idea of a planet size omniscent computer that can track everybody and record and analyze everything in real time and provide innovative solutions on the fly does not confound you?
everyone shitting on this guy can't explain how the dude's brain could survive the insane acceleration. in fact, the entire probe would be squashed to shit after the first nuke.
anon, they accelerated him at 1 g
started pretty solid with interesting suspense, but lost its charm by episode 4. probably not gonna watch season 2
I liked the part where they mercilessly sliced up a boat full of minorities and rich people.
>nuclear propulsion idea fails because...uhh... somebody didn't tighten a bolt enough!
They couldn't have just made a math or timing error during a split second window? They had to make everyone involved look like a moron instead?
Spaceflight is difficult and complicated. Shit will go wrong in 11 different ways. A math error is no more or less moronic than a bolt being pried loose by multiple fricking nukes. Sometimes it's a math error like that Japanese moon landing the other day, sometimes it's tiles coming off a shuttle, and sometimes a bolt comes loose.
Too spicy for China.

>aliens can frick with your vision
>they can’t read our thoughts
seems like a big assumption they can’t do that. no clue how they jumped to that conclusion
The book they go with the theory that the brain is based on quantum processes. This theory is real but unproven.
in the books when the aliens talk to the extremist humans, they realize really quickly that the aliens are really dumb and childlike when it comes to intrigue. It is a pretty major plot point in the second book
>they can’t read our thoughts
Except they can in the videogame, the AI is from the aliens, and she can scan your brain and know all about your past
they understood what a metaphor is after first time encountering one, so i dont think they are as autistic in the show as you think.
and i read spoilers and i hate what comes up but theres a lot of room here to make an interesting original story with the way current things are set up. i just hate knowing how it ends up, gives me no hope for future seasons unless dnd completely rip the story to shreds. which i hope is what happens.
My only criticism is that the main b***h from book 3 didn't die with everybody else like she deserved.
humanity isnt selfish or weak though, thats just the author coping. probably because hes chinese. in american first contact films the aliens usually get fricked up in the end because animals are essentially wild animals but slightly less dangerous, and humanity's mandate is to snuff out whatever tries to threaten it, aussies legitimately mobilized their military when emus started threatening their farmers and lead a battle against the local population. any good alien story needs to end up in aliens getting herded into pens for questioning and executions, and then humanity deploying on space ships to go frick them upp.
>e animals are essentially wild animals but slightly less
fricked up that sentence beyond belief
i mean aliens are wild animals, more dangerous
If aliens exist irl we would get stomped. A civilization that managed to crack interstellar travel will find it trivial to accelerate a couple of asteroids to extinction level speeds and send it our way.
>creators of game of thrones
kek nepo dan strikes again
I posted this same thing in the other thread, but I think it's worth repeating because I didn't get a satisfactory answer. It makes little sense to me that the aliens are able to remotely screw with particle accelerators or print numbers into people's vision yet seem limited in other ways. If their plan is to conquer Earth and they have a granular enough level of control to screw with subatomic reactions light years away, they can't do something simple like kill all humans instantly with an engineered virus or something like that.
virus's are too large, they can only affect things on the quantum scale.
>subatomic level
>viruses
Everyone thinks they're a genius today
I heard that the series is like Terra Invicta meets The Expanse so I tried watching it with the lady and literally could not make it half the episode. I'm just sick to death of this DEI trash. I'll try reading the books at some point, I'm quite sure that the show is just some loosely-based bullshit that changes everything to women and blacks anyway.
This is mostly true, it's asian men and white men in the books with very few asian women.
I would call it very good if they cut half the "i'm dying but I won't tell her I love her" bullshit for the video game level where the aliens tell the player exactly how shitty their world is and how broken the people are.
its not rly woke or whatever ppl r saying itt, its 1-2 scenes that were added in later because studio politics
>People are saying it's woke
Bug incels aren't people, anon.
this is what went wrong. people want interesting stories and characters, not reddit posts.
its' not the show's fault, it's netflix's
The scene was stupid but that's pretty much the only scene of its type in the show.
Not nearly the same
You will never be a woman and I will never watch your show.
cringe
There is a scene in the first episode where some woman is saying she doesn't believe in god because they come from a family of scientists. MUH SCIENCE
Do real scientists really like flexing their knowledge on normal people like this?
No. Only frauds break out out buzzwords in front of normies. Real scientists strive to explain things in the simplest possible and most broadly understandable language and only use technical terms when necessary.
No, true mastery of a subject is being able to explain and talk about it using basic common words children understand.
Notice, she said used such bullshit jargon describing polymers when they all apply to any polymer.
She reminds me of those coding boot camp people that call themselves engineers without even building anything
no, real scientists believe science is for everyone (even normies) and try to excitedly ELI5 if anyone shows the slightest interest in their passion.
No, we do not. If asked we try to explain it to them in terms they can understand, but not in a condescending way. We also simplify things when talking with other scientists from other fields.
>t. Organic Chemistry PhD student.
Here is how I would do it if I was a scientist trying to explain to a normie what I do:
>I run a company that designs synthetic polymers, think of nylon, for example, that have a wide range of applications.
Right before that webm the women are bemoaning that their favorite spot has turned into a karaoke bar.
They don't give the guy shit in any way, he plays along and leaves because it's his turn to sing.
You are sensitive.
>should we stop going to this bar which clearly went downhill long ago?
>should we just tell the guy we're not interested politely?
>nah lets show him we're bad science b***hes and make him feel small for trying to hit on some chicks at a bar
btw im downloading the chink version of this show as we speak after trying to watch this trash. i bet it'll be based

They weren't that bad. They mostly just said what they did. I'm sure you brag about what you do at work sometimes, too, right? Wendy's should be proud to have you.
personally im a sandwich artist, dont think i could explain it to a layman
here, I generally agree with you. It was a little on the nose imo but not that bad compared to a lot of media nowadays. They don't really belittle the dude, and he doesn't seem to really care.
why the frick did they turn the main character from a nerdy (but brilliant) asian man into a white woman with a BBC fetish? seriously, how the frick do we stop the woke mind virus? they've gone too far.
>main character
I am assuming picrel is you because you're moronic.
I see GRETA: ORIGINS is off to a fine start. Still shouldn't have race swap though
pro-tip for coomers trying to be sneaky: generally guys who are against race mixing don't use porn terms that only exist to hype up black male desirability.
>how the frick do we stop the woke mind virus?
You help the aliens win
just start a race war and hope the whites win. that's a far better solution.
No thanks

Amazing. I'm so glad I watched the Chinese one, no diversity and no feminism. Hell there's even one part where they flat out state climate change is bullshit made up by the Trisolarans to make humans limit their own progress.
So is this the new shill angle? Watch the ESG propaganda to own Chyna?
>climate change is bullshit made
lmao meanwhie netflix version shows tv news report where they blame locust plague on global warming
Do you understand the argument of climate change and global warming at all? Because right now you seem confused

i find it stupid that alien civilization capable of interstellar travel who is able to build planet sized computer which can transfer data with faster than light speed would ever be scared of humans, even in fricking 400 years we wont even be close to that, not only they can watch our progress and copy everything but also do their own + they can easily delay our research.
The author is also probably trying to convey the idea that too much censorship and authoritarianism can stagnate a society as a metaphor for maoist china, and that opening things up is a good thing.
>fleets tech won't progress
Whoopsie doodle, we forgot to put a lab on our continent sized space ship
This. There is just so much shit that doesn't make sense in 3 Body Problem. But it throws so much intelligent-sounding technical jargon at the audience that pseudo-intellectuals believes it's actually a "smart" story even if the main plot line breaks down under even minor scrutiny from a normie.
ah yes let me run a system wide particle accelerator on a generational spaceship and build near light speed spaceships on it, fricking moron.
>can make a super computer out of a single proton
>somehow miss a habitable planet just 4 light years away
Whoopsie doodle
maybe they hibernate during travel, but that also doesnt make sense they have earth sized super computer with advanced AI, it can handle to spy on all research data on earth but cant do it itself, Humans are already losing to a primitive LLM ran on vide game GPUS and singularity will probably mean end of employment for most of us, theres no way super advanced ai cant do research by itself.
>let me go all in 400 years early
What an arrogance. Lol
>Buys $100 Katana from mall ninja store
>Sent me straight to doomsday, doc!
>I'm ready.
>not only they can watch our progress and copy everything but also do their own
How is that going to help the invasion fleet?
What are you even trying to say? I sear anytime someone says "capable of interstellar travel" it's followed by gibberish
3 white guys. 3. And 1 dies quickly and one is basically useless. What. The. Frick.
At least Davos is basically the main character in the last 4 episodes
>le aliens can't even conceive of what a lie is
>constantly deceive scientists into thinking they are crazy until they kill themselves
ok
Taking a shit in someone's particle accelerator and scaring them with fake numbers isn't lying to them.
It was forced. They merged two unrelated stories together to keep their main characters together.
the extremist humans are basically acting as the strategists for the aliens at the very beginning. it's implied that's a human idea.
Well one line explaining that would have been enough for me.
The show doesn't have time for any of it's ideas to breathe for even a second
Which is probably for the best because they are bad, shitty versions of ideas that were told way better in other ways ie the book or chink show
This show is just bad.
Guess I gotta try the China version, saw it on prime
It felt forced to me that the Irish guy who was running the investigation into the mysterious deaths of scientists was suddenly in charge of a space program to meet up with aliens.
>What went wrong?
The original material was written by a Chinese man with a very nonsensical Chinese view of the world. Then it was handed over to 2 dumbasses who fricked up Game of Thrones to translate to a TV show.
imagine betraying the revolution so hard you end up betraying the human race too
at least deng only betrayed the revolution
not enough sissy homosexual femboys
Can't wait for S02 so I can fap to future frickboys living in artificial underground trees and being rammed by floating Tesla-powered dildos.
I'm not a wallfacer, I have nothing to fear
I must have missed something in the Chink one because I'm confused why the Global Defense Org or whatever is with all the generals is convened from the start. Did they know about the aliens or were they organized because of the weird shit with the scientists?
Frick I typed this like a moron...
someone help me I'm dumb. Why are all the generals meeting at the start of the series? Because of dead scientists?
Yes. Dead scientists. They bring Ding Ye in to investigate the dead scientists and infiltrate the ETO (They technically do not know it's the ETO yet but they suspect there is foul play from an organization).
Aliens only have one planet in their solar system. Nearest solar system is Earth's. Time is a factor as their planet could be destroyed at any time.
Cool thats what i thought thanks anon
i really like the Chinese show
>Nearest solar system is Earth's.
>live in the worst possible solar system imaginable
>somehow manage to achieve incredible progress in all scientific fields
>closest planet to yours is capable of sustaining life and has a perfect stable orbit
>somehow never have the need to study it until some random chinese woman contacts you
This shit is looking worse and worse chief
Is the Chinese version finished or its also not full story? also is it actually good and worth watching?
>Is Chinese XYZ any good?
The answer is always no.
Wrong.
Is that after she ate her dog?
Its only first book so far afaik but its a pretty close adaptation. Yeah its much better than netflix trash
>+10 Social Credits were deposited into your account
It was made for the capehsit audience
?si=pZb5LVj7MpPqeF3i
Boring characters. The book at the same problem, but at least the book knew it was just using them to exposition dump scifi lorebuilding on you. The show forces the shitty boring characters on and skips all the lore also.
> Cut to a scene with a particle accelerator
> show DEI science man
> compare him to Einstein
>"Science is broken n sheeeit'
> Cut to a scene in a bar
> Man goes to a bar to try to meet people
> approaches two women
> small talk
> well actually I'm a nuclear physicist and I've been published all around the world and Bubba blah blah blah
Turn that shit off. If anybody finish this entire series they are fricked in the head.
the sad part its unironially still much less pozzed than 99% of netflix shows
Why couldn't the aliens travel to another planet and terraform it? Are they just so autistic that they need someone else to politely invite them to come over?
They evolved and repeatedly got near extinct in a triple star system which is rare itself, no time for terraforming. Their fleet was already in space when they made contact with earth. According to the dark forest hypothesis which was inspired by the book, if first radio contact is made it is kill or be killed as humans would scientifically surpass them before they reach earth. Humans would likely destroy their home world and fleet first, that is their logic.
How did they do it?
How true to the book is the Chinese version?
Is there actually a chapter on the trail of the Trisolaran that send a pacifist message?
>How true to the book is the Chinese version? Is there actually a chapter on the trail of the Trisolaran that send a pacifist message?
word for word and yes
Chinese version of the book pseudo-censors the cultural revolution stuff by shoving it in the middle instead of the beginning
Always thought the author's explanation was weird. Do the Chinese censors not even bother reading halfway through the book?
I'm no expert, but I think the Chinese censors do read the book.
I also think the Chinese censors strongly prefer for the embarrassing stuff to be sandwiched in between the actual story the reader is invested in versus being on the first fricking page/scene.
>word for word and yes
That's pretty neat. I read the book descriptions after watching the show, and the Singer chapter sounds interesting too
It's really not that cool unless you really don't like reading. Adapting word for word means the pacing is atrocious and it's not a story that is super elevated by strong acting or visuals even if the show had them.
No visual description is ever given.
I downloaded chinese version and it literally starts with the chick who sends the aliens the massage to aliens, cuckflix version had a lot of more context to things which happened before, did i miss ep or its supposed to start that way?
Flashbacks give the context.
the one and only thing that wokeflix got right was the opening scene. you can turn it off after that because it's just woke trash. ignore the shills who respond to this or say otherwise. and yes, there are shills out in full force defending this trash adaptation.
the Chinese version is better as far as being closer to the book, but the pacing is very slow and boring. honestly just read the book and ignore the shows, you'll have a much better time.
is Chinese version finished or they are still making new seasons?
it just covered book 1
Season 2 is being made.
they made sophons too strong. If they can hack and control cars why cant they crash every plane in the sky simultainously?
couldn't the sophons just frick with the senses of the wallfaces until they rope?
What do the alien frickers look like?
Embrace the mystery.
ant sized
microscopic bears.
In my imagination I pictured the blue unicorn fricker from animorphs because he also communicates telepathically and is a smart dude.
bags of sand
They look like the one thing Chinese people fear most...
Escalators
Like the Egypt planet water dudes from Futurama.
they never show themselves, but we get some descriptions of what they are like.
I kinda we never see them, keeps the mystery and we don't have to get shitty cgi
this is an extremely likely scenario since it's book-accurate, will save on CGI, and if they do make it people will complain regardless of what they look like
did the chink version show the aliens?
Lol yes
see
Well all the chink versions are done without the author's input, whereas the Netflix one has him on board. He never wanted them to be shown, so they probably won't be.
nobody here has read the prequel where ward was the first contact with the hot sophon and when she revealed that he couldn't freeze himself forever to bone her in eternity he went calmly mad and dedicated everything to destroy all trisolarans but that was the plan all along because 2d entities entirely unmentioned in the original trilogy had planned it all out using anime to dull the 3d weaklings with only hints of their existence. tldr lmao wait for the last season if they make it that far, you'll see
>have to use subtitles to watch Chinese version of the show that apparently uses the book as a script
does nobody see how ridiculous this is or does everyone on this board speak Chinese?
>popular media is now showing commies for the brutal unthinking savages they are
Baseado, society is healing.
That's a good thing, thoughbeit. The most brutal of apes always win.
I'm trying real hard to wrap my head around this 11 dimension proton but I just don't get it
then again I am a midwit...
just ignore it
it might as well be magic for 99% of the series
Dimension just means property. You see 3 dimensions but there are other properties like smell.
Then there are other properties we can't perceive. It's suggested everything is made of waves, which is a lot easier to conceptualize if you go read about discrete cosine transformation; how images are compressed.
Lastly there is the idea some dimensions are 'the same direction', like entropy and time increase in the same direction.
>folds paper in half and smells it
Properties are not dimensions you fricking moron
>like smell
>It's like JPEGS!
Thanks Dunning Kruger.
pretty sure its a homage to strong theory
Don't think too hard about it.
If it made any sense then it would be reality instead of a fictional device meant to emphasise that an alien society is far more technologically advanced than our own.
The more I watch this show the baffled I am by moronic it is
>NO WE CAN'T USE A MISSILE TO SINK THE SHIP WHAT IF WE DESTROY ONE OF THE HARD DRIVED
>Let's just slice to whole ship to ribbons with nano fibers
Anon, the ribbons are like feet apart
the chink version unironically did a great job with this...its honestly so much fricking better
They were supposed to be normal hard drives and it some super quantum encryption drive. They also wanted all the drives and didn't care about slicing them. They were trying to prevent them from actively deleting the data which they would do if they realized they were under attack.
you can repair a clean cut easy, you can't repair if it got blown up you fricking moron
The source material is garbage, thus the tv adaptation will also be garbage.
>nigflix
She did nothing wrong.
It was dumb.
?si=__kcTN65G_axDmoV
>here's my opinion
>posts someone's youtube video
baka tbh senpai
>Post opinion
>showcase video adding to that opinion with lengthy criticism
>cry about how I'm posting another person's argument, like a baby
>You're a complete dumbass and shouldn't be trusted to operate scissors
Get your own opinion, child. Stop using tubers to think for you
Get a better argument than "I don't like listening to videos that show me I'm wrong!"
The only thing it shows is that you don't think for yourself.
And if you parrot the idea from others that you can't reference other peoples' arguments that DOES mean you think for yourself? Jesus, talk about getting yourself into a corner.
some people from their own ideas, anon.
Some people have already created excellent arguments to source. Crying about it because you can't argue against it doesn't make it right.
"WAH! ARGUMENT ISN'T YOURS, THEREFORE IT CAN'T BE CORRECT!"
Why doesn't the sophon unfold and just block the sun until humanity is gone?
Or why don't the Trisolarans/Bing-Chillings just make every human see signs until the go insane and kill themselves?
Because then people could shoot rockets at it and destroy it.
Why doesn't the sophon just dodge the rockets using 11D chess?
It can only do that while folded
The eye in the sky is not a sophon. I mean, it is in the show, I suppose. In the books the eye is an advanced species Trisolarians unfolded by accident from within a photon into their upper 3rd dimension, which they had to kill. They kept it in the show and I guess it is an unfolded sophon in the show, but that's not for sure.
>In the books the eye is an advanced species
wait what? can elaborate wtf that means? where did the species even come from?
If I remember correctly the bubble was gradually collapsing into 3D just like our solar system collapsed into 2D, and the 4D beings inside would be killed when it did so, hence the 4D space being a grave but it's been a few years since I read.
>3d solar system collapsing into 2d leaves a painting
>4d system collapsing into 3d just fricking explodes into raw materials???
I tend to believe it was just a grave for a 4d civ that was aware that the space it occupied was collapsing, because it was fully functional and recognizable as a monument within the 4g space
Jesus. That's a lot of word salad and utterly nonsensical jargon.
Who the frick thinks this is good writing?
I will now read your book
They want some humans alive as slaves/willing servants
Why? It would be easier for them to just kill them all and then take Earth's resources, which is what they basically do with Death's End.
>Death's End.
I'm glad the Trisolarans home-world got what it fricking deserved.
why did their homeworld matter though? They've been space faring for hundreds of years already, they could have just kept going.
They did. That's what happened once there was no better alternative.
There was still plenty alive on their homeworld, they couldn't take all. And kept going where? Earth? They knew the same will happen to Earth, which it does.
just anywhere, their homeworld was going to be fricked either way.
Pretty sure that's what happens? Don't they stop going to Earth and fly elsewhere.
they're so advanced but can't make slave robots?
Showrunners are Weiss and Benioff. People have this impression that they were actually good at their jobs when they're motivated and doing an adaptation. They were never good. Ever. They had some good seasons in early GoT because GRRM babysat them and HBO executives bullied the frick out of them. It had nothing to do with their actual ability.
HOLY SHIT HOW WERE THE CHINESE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH SOMETHING LIKE THIS?!?!??!?! THE WEST CAN'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO COMPETING.
>They've reached The Matrix: Reloaded levels of CGI
Almost looks good, if you squint you eye- ohh. So that's it.
d-did it just Naruto run?
These are in-game. In the tencent there is much more game and they distinguish it from the live action with PS3 graphics.
>aliens declare war on humanity
>hispanic chick is all like "My le wires, they le killed people"
None of the adaptations for The Dark Forest are going to be satisfying at all.
I haven't watched all 30 hours of the chinese series, but this is from the episode that people are shilling as "the chinese did it better." If this is the best they can do, then I can only imagine how bad the chink version actually gets.
Wait, is this a new season? I don't remember this.
what the frick is going on here?
Because of the CGI? It's supposed to be a human develop video game on short notice by the ETO who just guessed what they looked like. It's far closer to the book.
>i-i-it's supposed to look bad
lol the absolute state.
It's supposed to look like a game and not real life.
>The building is supposed to crumble
>The tunnel is supposed to flood
>The baby formula is supposed to have steroids
>The food is supposed to have gutter oil
>The missiles are supposed to be full of water
>The escalator is supposed to kill you
>The dog is supposed to be eaten
?
The scene it's depicting is when they go into a VR game made by ayy sympathisers to recruit new members.
He didn’t say that you fricking mong
That is exactly what he said you fricking moron.
Lol, it looks like the late 90's CG they used in all those shitty music videos from the era.
>chinese dressed like Neo
>the aliens have matrix code running along their bodies
Wut
Chinese are so unoriginal. Liu Cixin must be some type of Super Chinaman; the first of his kind to create something new.
When you can't wait for the cancer patient character to die, then it's not a good sign.
dude dying by cancer is fricking hell
I know, but frick that dude
should I watch the Netflix one or the Chinese one?
Read the books
If
is the writing in the books, I'd rather try to work my way through Infinite Jest.
Go do that then
It's always abstract when talking about them, idk what your problem is with it. But large parts of the series are a huge drag; I really love how Netflix's is trimming so much fat and getting all three books to fit into one story, with the characters all knowing eachother and being there from day one.
The scifi babble is the point, not the characters.
>The scifi babble is the point, not the characters.
That's a hard sell for larger demographics. Normies want to connect with characters
I feel like a lot could have been cut or sped up.
The seal saved humanity though by creating a ship of defeatist tha bailed on the doomsday battle.
I don't remember that. I thought captian astroid bullet was not sealed... But the crew was? Guess I forgot.
they fricked off and colonized a planet elsewhere with a name even more uncreative than the original planet
Netflix.
Has anybody seen The Wandering Earth movies? How are they?
Stupid fun. I wish they would do The Dark forest in that style.
Does the author hate women or something? How come he made a woman doom the human race? Twice?
He's just shit at writing people. It's one of the greatest flaws in the books imo. He has this sort of platonic ideal of people and just writes to that.
All the Western men are arrogant, all the Russian men are pragmatic and all the women are kind and empathetic to a fault.
Trust fund band
>small woman slams full grown man against glass strong enough to crack and kills him
Was she an alien or something? Cyborg? Enhanced?
She collects powerful 11D cosmic energy via her peach fuzz, and can unleash it at will.
This never happened in the book so it's them just making shit up. Unsurprisingly everything they make up makes no sense.
So theoretically the aliens can show 24/7 BBC porn on everyone's vision if they want right?
the old guy saying "boring as frick" really took me out
old people don't talk like that
I always hate that kind of shit. It's like when the strong minded lesbian teen of dubious ethnicity swears with every other word.
I miss BingBing Wahoo
I'm going to marry her and not one of you can stop me.
The only thing that can stop me is my outward appearance and utter helplessness.
That looks like a dude.
There’s no way to tell asian women and ladyboys apart. When people see a white guy with an asian woman they assume he’s with a thai ladyboy
What do the aliens do to the guy's brain? Do they frick it?
yes
bukkake sex party
very erotic
No they grow him a body then grow him all the food he can eat from the seeds, then tell him the secrets of the universe.
why? what happens to him at the end?
They give him a ship and a pocket universe and he takes it to the planet that he bought for Cheng, where he lives happily ever after with her best friend AA
if the aliens have a pocket universe why didn't they just go there?
Just one of the many MASSIVE plot holes in these books. Idk why they get so much praise.
It's literally like billions of years after book 1
Lol no its not, its like a couple hundred years after the flattening of the solar system. The billions of years thing happens after they decide to abandon the pocket universe because some ayy told them to.
don't they hit that gravity line or whatever and it takes them multiple millions of years. The etching on the planet has been worn away by the passage of time. That's all before the pocket universe.
Yeah but the guy arrives on the planet before the gravity lines hit. The other guy from Gravity meets her there and takes her on a tour of the system before cancerman arrives and that is when the gravity lines hit. She is trapped in the ship with Gravity guy, and AA and Cancerman get trapped on the planet. He leaves her the pocket universe as a gift.
I forget how much time goes by while they're stuck in the black domain but its a lot. That's before they go to live in the pocket universe.
The series of events is:
>Cheng and AA arrive on planet blue
>They meet guy from spaceship Gravity there
>Gravity guy takes Cheng on tour of solar system
>AA stays behind because Cancerman is about to get there
>Death lines hit and turn system into black domain
>Cheng and Gravity guy sleep for millions of years or some shit while the neural computer comes online because regular computers cant work in black domain
>Cheng and gravity guy arrive on planet to find millions of years have passed and the only remains of cancerman and AA are carved on bedrock
>Cancerman leaves the pocket universe he got form Trisolarns as gift for Cheng.
I
wrong.
Trisolarans had the tech anywhere between 1-287 years after the Black Forest strike depending on where Tianming was before the aliens dropped him off.
There are some convoluted scenarios that could involve them having it later but none seem very likely because AA wasn't registered in the pocketverse.
Its totally answered, moron.
see
There's a brane-wide call to disassemble all pocket universes.
Because dimensional warfare gets fricked up.
Eventually lots of civilizations abandon the whole fight and create pocket universes, but a group that monitors the amount of mass left to start the universe over in 11D urges them to give back the matter as the process won't restart without it.
That from the non-canon book 4 I have heard about?
No, its from the very canon Death's End. I don't red fanfiction.
lol, Freudian slip, fricking reds and their bug novels
I think it mainly comes from book 3. The 4th book is more about some holy war between god and the devil.
where do all these new random characters pop up? It's like its not even about the humans vs the 3bodiepeople
Our conflict with the TriSols gets sort of dwarfed as the story goes on.
Oh so there are even higher stakes ? I like that, I might just read the books then
kinda sucks there is no real conclusion or winner
Thats not exactly true. It is implied that both Humanity and the Trisolarans go on to build a lasting presence in the universe 10's of millions of years into the future.
no frick that, they would Enders Game it. Don't start shit you can't finish.
Spoiler, but
is correct. Things sort of do an don't work out.
Believe it or not he lives happily ever after marooned on a planet banging some hot yellow tail for decades until death from natural causes.
Too many interracial couples.

>White people are-
Aren't israelites not having enough kids? And Asians? This some massive global Mexican conspiracy?
billions must die
Used in the sail but yeah no mention of space elevator yet
>Auggie
But if she is also Saul's dream girl then she'll have to go to sleep at some point
My favorite change is how there are now nearly 300 nukes already in space from the early failure of staircase, so Saul can use those to do deterence.
you're right anon I've had a few and I was thinking more about the books than what was explained in the show. I hope you are right about Auggie but she is also the cheng xin stand-in's best friend so I'm not optimistic. hopefully they are both on ice for most of season 2 for Dark Forest kino
By what force on earth would d&d be compelled to stick to the real story after the abomination that is season 1?
They clearly are going to on some level with what's been set up. I wouldn't bet on it sticking to it too much, but I don't really care because that's what the chink version and books are for.
How is the fat black nerd pulling so many women? This is probably the biggest plot hole
What the frick is this?
I found it while looking for pictures of BingBing Wahoo.
The bugs are literally killing each other over this crappy show.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/xu-yao-death-sentence-poisoning-netflix-producer-xu-yao-china/
sounds like book 2 and 3 are CGI heavy
Oh its going to be a cgi shit fest.
3 is borderline unadaptable from a visual perspective
The 2D solar system was completely moronic.
I understand that all the science in the books is based on string theory and in string theory, folding space into a lower dimension can make sense. But the fact that character can SEE the 2D solar system is completely deranged, how the frick is light travelling in and out of 2D space, why is something in 2D space reflecting light in a non 2D direction. It literally describes people getting turned into flat Stanley. Complete nonsense for a series that's 'HARD' sci-fi. Might look cool on on the show though.
sounds like it would looks like loony toons
>space reflecting light in a non 2D direction
Because we're in a higher dimension and can observe lower dimensions just fine. That's how it is. The ray reflecting off on that axis wouldn't mean anything to flatlanders, but its no problem for us.
I find it hard to believe this is the first fricking time the old guy has read the Little Red Riding Hood story.
I can only find the animated TDF on nyaa but I was hoping to stream it somewhere. Seems impossible.
Nothing it's pretty good. A little woke but apparently not woke enough for some people.
Good to hear that the Spanish conquistadors and English colonisers have had their image renewed in the eyes of woke morons from evil invaders to misunderstood migrants.
They can't make sense of it because we don't quite know how dark or light the alien's skin is. PLEASE! TELL US IF THEY ARE DARK OR NOT!
>just discovered humans can lie after decades
