It’s not mad max because it’s a prequel spin off with a boring character, I’m not looking forward to it because I found the character meh and I don’t need to see it on screen for two fricking hours

originally a furiousa standalone movie was planned before fury road, but the original plan was also to make furiosa Max's love interest that he eventually settles down with and finds love again. So it kind of make sense to flesh her out as someone that would be important to Max. But they changed it with Fury Road where they just go their separate ways at the end so this ends up as just a girl power fantasy.

A Max and Furiosa romance was never on the table, iirc. They had written Furiosa for another "wasteland" story so her character and history was already fleshed out (which is why we have a Furiosa movie) when they started working on Mad Max Fury Road they added Furiosa to the movie because they didn't like the story of Max stealing another man's wives. As you see in the movie, Max and Furiosa build up a grudging respect and friendship. Originally Max was supposed to ride up into the citadel with them but it was changed on set because Max still has his own shit to work out and it didn't make sense for him to join them in "civilization" yet. Idk you morons mention "girl power" whenever this movie is brought up for discussion. None of the women in this film or universe have any power. Even Furiosa is under the thumb of Immortan Joe, she doesn't have command of any one, and we have no idea about what happens after the film ends.

That's all true but unless there's something interesting hidden in the story, you already know that Thor's character lost, Furiosa won, and she reluctantly teamed up with Immortan Joe. Seems like a waste of time

I'm not surprised when they did this with fury road.

I turned it off half way , no way mel would of taken that effiminating(He's so scared of king joes boy nux, a pregger has to show him how to use a shotgun).

I watched the 3d re releases of the 1st 3 in the mid 90's, fury road's not even close to mel's max.

Wtf movie did you watch anon? Only two of the wives are pregnant and neither one uses the shot gun or any gun at all. Max tried to kill Nux a few times during the start of the chase, tried to blow Nux's arm off but the shot gun wouldn't fire, and then he winded or knocked Nux out after he finally got the cuff off and strong armed The War Rig away from Furiosa and The Wives. Max came in and b***h slapped everybody through nearly the entirety of the movie, once he gains a bit of his sanity back.

Maybe to establish that the character means nothing right away? It’s weird to make this movie at all, the story of how the side character of the last movie went to work for the villain of the last movie? Literally who fricking cares?

Much like the new Harley Quinn featuring Joker movie, it's to make a popular guy IP more inclusive because too many guys like it.

George Miller got scared by the de-aging technology he saw in that Scorsese movie. Said it looked like crap. So he replaced Charlize with the younger Anya. It was an over reaction possibly, Charlize does not look "that" old that he needs to use de-aging on her. Makeup, losing 5-10 pounds (even though she's already thin) and her having longer hair would have easily done the job. Current Charlize Theron doesn't look much different than her younger self. Anyway that's the "official" statement or reason we got when the casting was first announced. During the making of Fury Road Charlize and and Tom Hardy butted heads because she didn't like that he was constantly late to set, and she ended up wanting protection while on set. George probably had this in mind when thinking about future projects for Mad Max.
