Joker
Excalibur. I hate fantasy but it was great.
Also this.
i dont despise it but crazy, stupid, love is the only romantic comedy i enjoy a ton
For me it's this and 10 Things I Hate About You
Came to post exactly this. That film deserves to be remembered as a true classic.
>666
Same
For me it's Just Married with my eternal waifu Brittany Muphy, it's a cute movie and she is absolutely adorable in it. Ashton Kutcher is a little hammy with his le tall silly loud frat bro act but overall the movie is really well cast, Tom Leezak (ex bf) is a perfect douchey rich ex, Brittany's family is well cast, frick I love that movie
Moulin Rogue is very fun
This was legit my pick. I liked how the character threads tangled up the way they did.
Not watched this movie but 50 first dates is my only romcom I have enjoyed and I actually like it for the romance more than the comedy
La La Land
These are all good.
This. Almost turned off after the first scene but so glad I didn't.
Also Druk, usually not a fan of comedies but liked that one a lot
A Star is Born
Hated La La Land but technically its kino
I enjoyed Gaga in ASH Hotel but this movie fricking sucked and bradley cooper looked like a Bogdanof jr.
Down With Love is adorable and charming as frick and I never give romcoms the time of day
Moulin Rogue - musicals
Where the heart is & Stardust - romance
Sweeny todd
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
Chipwrecked. Not sure what genre it is, sometimes I watch kids movies.
Bridemaids
The World's End - action comedy
Hate musicals, actually liked this. It helps that it's not THAT kind of musical, they're actually singing songs as a band in the film. And the main girl was stunningly beautiful.
I can never tolerate when everyone in the vicinity bursts into a dance routine in musicals usually. It looks so stupid.
This one is bretty gud, but I wouldn't call it a musical at all, it's a coming-of-age flick in it's entirety.
It's a musical in that they play entire songs throughout the film in-universe, and they're composed specifically for the film. They're not just on the soundtrack or something. I don't think it's not a musical just because it's not a song and dance number type of song.
i hate musicals generally too, the only ones i've enjoyed have been that, once (2007) and dancer in the dark (2000)
That she was
Despise musicals but Grease and 100% unironically the Muppet movies (Christmas Carol and Treasure Island especially) are in my top 10, and not just because of nostalgia
Everyone Says I Love You. I remember seeing it in the theater and being appalled when I realized it was a musical, but to my surprise I ended up really liking it.
Same for me with LaLa Land. I wasn't aware it was a musical, and I ended up liking it.
Dredd was the only capeshit I enjoyed
Dredd is not capeshit.
yes it is
No it's not.
Capeshit is whatever Marvel or DC churns out for their commercial machine.
Dredd is from indy publishers that know how to use good characters to tell good stories.
>it's not capeshit because...it just isn't okay?!?!
lmao kys capeshitter
that's not what I said, but okay. cope homosexual.
I normally hate indie sci fi shit but Parallel was great. Interesting premise but doesn't rely on special effects or mcguffins, it remains a character driven story.
As a bonus, it also has a Berenstain Bears / Mandela effect reference.
Blues Brothers
I FRICKING HATE ROMANTIC COMEDIES
can hardly wait is a good film, cannot explain that, tide comes in and tide does the opposite i think
I hate this b***h's face
I hate romcoms, and I especially hate those gimmicky ensemble ones like Valentine's Day.
But I like Love Actually. And I know it's dumb and cheesy and entirely hypocritical of me. But I just like it. It's standard Christmas time fare for me every few years.
God damn what a gay
ditto
Good post, and agreed anon.
Same here. I dig Love Actually, and I hate Rom Coms
>I love the part when Liam Neeson pays off his step-son to take the blame after getting caught watching porn, by his father-in-law.
He doesn't like your face either
I wouldn't say I hate the genre entirely, but Chronicle was very good for a found footage film.
I can't even think of a film I've seen in any of the genres I despise.
A challenge: learn how to use a semicolon and not mistake it with the colon.
I normally preferred the non-musical animated films, but I not only liked the songs of this film, I thought they all bar one suited and enhanced the film instead of feeling like the movie just stops to play a barely relevant pop song like so many of the Disney ones. The one the Pharaoh's priests sing is the only one I thought was out of place musically and narratively, I would cut that if I was in charge. But all the rest are good, especially the opening song.
I can't remember any songs except this one and maybe this is the one you don't like but otherwise I agree
That’s easy, RRR. I don’t like action movies or musicals but it blew me away.
Is this Bollywood?
cos he's making up bullshit
technically Tollywood for telugu films
This shit was a great. Also A Knights Tale. It was medieval horse shit rom com, but I loved it and most ledger movies besides the dark knight and broke back mountain.
We've been over this, A Knight's Tale is a sports film, not a romcom.
>sports film
its certainly scored like one. i hate that movies soundtrack.
I can understand that classification but if a girl drags me to see it. Its either romcom or horror from mid 90s to 2010. Superhero movies, and harry Potter/vampire craze pretty much killed movies for me.
Generally don't like documentaries but Der Ewige Jude just drew me in.
>it's funny because HAHA HITLER
I don't mind if you post shit for edge points or because you're genuinely convinced Black folk and israelites are to blame for your misery, but pretending it's funny by virtue of going against societal etiquette is just pathetic. Do you expect people to get offended here?
Notting Hill
Whoops-a-daisy
The Suicide Squad - Superhero movies made in or after 2008
Is this Lana Rhoades?
It's the girl who shoved a live rat up her ass.
>shoved a live rat up her ass.
That doesn't sound healthy for her or the rat.
From what I understand the rat remained cozy for up to 3 days before it came back out again.
No.
she looks like a different pornstar
Which one?
i think thats uma jolie
She looks latina
I really don't care for found footage, nearly all I've seen are just standard narrative films but with shitty camerawork, there's zero attempt to alter the narrative or the format to account for it actually being filmed in-universe, which usually has the laziest excuse for someone to be filming scenes all the time as well.
But this was great, and did exactly what I want to see out of found footage; actually changing up the format and dispensing with traditional film narrative, in this case a documentary style (and actually a documentary, not just some morons running around shaking a camera).
You should watch Lake Mungo (2008) if you haven't already. It uses found footage to present scenes out of order, revisit the same events from multiple angles, and features the use of Photoshop/After Effects as a plot point. I also dislike most found footage movies but I enjoyed this one a lot.
Atonement - period drama
I feel like I would enjoy Remains Of The Day if I ever get around to watch it
its excellent
I recommend you watch
very precise movie
The Dunkirk scene in atonement is on an unfathomable level of kino. It's got more kino in one take than the entirety of Nolan's shitty dunkirk movie
imagine disliking an entire genre
Imaging disliking only one genre when there are so many to dislike
jesus christ superstar
before trilogy
American Psycho.
>Horror/Thriller
>Comedy
So latina, got you.
No, not latina. Those are the descendants of Spanish mixed with natives in central and south America. Proper Iberians are just caucasians
I love the irony from the file itself
we should stop saying latinos when we really mean latinoamericanos
return the name latin to the romans
sametroony
we should stop saying latinos or hispanics when we really mean latinoamericanos and hispanoamericanos, return the name latin to the romans and hispanic to hispania (name).
If you mean those living in the americas we should use american in the names.
Are "gay movies" a genre? Anyway, this movie is fricking hilarious.
>Anyway, this movie is fricking hilarious.
It really is. Never seen the original but this is great and the cast is so good. Mike Nichols is also a great director and very reliable.
the original french/italian movie is pretty good, but I'd say the american remake is about on the same level. I like Tognazzi and Serrault more, but the character played by Gene Hackman is funnier.
Ironically while playing a gay man, this is the only time I saw Robin Williams play the "straight man". It's one of his most subdued performances and easily one of his funniest for that reason. Nathan Lane and Hank Azaria chew enough scenery for four people.
Very well put, anon
>I've never seen so much go so wrong so quickly! I'm sweating like some kind of farm animal.
>that cast
>that director
No way this film wasn't gonna kick ass, and sure enough it does.
KINO film
>It was perfect, I just never realized John Wayne walked like that
incredible movie
I said latina because I’ve seen Mexican girls who look like her.
Can a balding 33 yo wizard get a gf like this?
Do you have a large penis or significant wealth?
Can I do it with a significant penis?
No and no.
Well perhaps you have a wonderful personality.
of course, just be yourself
The VVITCH
Horror is gay
The Before Series - romance films.
Call Me By Your Name - gay films
Annette - musicals
Assassination of Jesse James - Biopic
I remember really loving Once when I first saw it, but I'm afraid to give a rewatch in case I regain my senses and hate it.
I hate RomComs, because they are never funny as comedies and the romantic parts make me angry or sad.
But I really liked Love Actually.
A Knights Tale.
It's a romcom but I love it.
That is not a romcom.
>not a romcom
Romcom requirements
>The Eccentric Best Friend
>The Unexpected Love Interest
>The Near Breakup
>The Grand Gesture

>The Other Love Interest
>The Beautiful Setting
>The Concerned Parent
>The Rain Scene
>The Epic First Kiss
Knight's Tale is a romcom
Sports films often have love interests. It's a sports film. The jousting is the main plot on which the film turns, not the romance.
This right here. Many movies include romance, but that is not what they are about.
A film is a romcom because it has a happy ending? What nonsense is that? There isn't even an "other love interest" either, and the only rain scene I recall is the actual pivotal emotional crux of the film, which is him reuniting with his father. Half that stuff doesn't even apply in fact.
99% of rom-coms are chick-flicks, but not ever chick-flick is a rom-com
I've never heard of anyone disliking A Knight's Tale. Anyway, that's a sports film, not a romcom.
i never liked any movie that had anachronistic music. its extremely cringe
What music would you have had instead? Orchestral music would be no less anachronistic.
not as much and they alread had some instruments
They didn't just do modern music for kicks. It's intended as a "translation" aurally. Because medieval music just sounds strange to us, but to them in the film's period it WAS their rock music. You even see it when they play Queen at the start, the row of guys lift up their trumpets and you hear the guitar riff from We Will Rock You playing.
Either way, orchestral music wasn't invented for hundreds of years after the period either, it would be no more accurate.
The Wailing - horror
Dunston Checks in
La La Land comes to mind. Maybe because i watched it with my ex gf years ago but it was a kino movie theater experience
Not a Marvel fan but I liked GOTG 1 and 2. They have that jokey style and all but they also had some actual sincerity and decent characters
The Umbrellas of Cherbourg and Rocky Horror Picture Show, musicals.
Rocky Horror gave me a boner when Frank seduced Brad.
Also when he seduced Janet.
booba
I liked Lady Bird. Genre is made for women liberal a24 movie I guess?
yeah, it was pretty good, but I already liked Gerwig's work as a screenwriter.
Booksmart by Olivia Wilde was also better than expected, in the same genre
Is "Any Given Sunday" a sports movie? Because I like that, but I don't like sports movies.
And Moneyball.
Bone Tomahawk, i hate horror
I despise film as a medium, so every film I enjoy is a pleasant surprise
The Batman was the first comic book film I've seen in a while I actually liked, I had started avoiding them in fact. I especially liked that it didn't look cheap and fake like the Marvel or Snyder films constantly do.
She's god damn gorgeous. What's she in?
Phantom of the Paradise - musicals
A "dog movie" that's actually kino.
YAG
Yag?
That's because parts are actually 'real'. I remember an interview with Ethan where he described the process of filming as the most 'real' acting he ever did because they filmed the process of him and Fang becoming acclimatised and trained to teach other's behaviour. Great interview. Unlike his daughter, Ethan is an amazing actor.
Fun fact, same dog actor that was in The Thing
that fact is not, in fact, fun
That's lewd, Daniela.
Golf movies
There's Something About Mary (romcoms)
I despise anime but this was p good
if you enjoyed this you dont actually despise anime, you just think weebs are cringy
I love anime and thought that film was demonstrably overrate.
Pedo Film
This movie was fine until about 3/4ths through and bradley cooper and his homosexualy face shows up, massively overacts and ruins the narrative. it's just dumb.
absolute bait
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
Another Burton: Biopics, usually the most dull and boilerplate genre, but I love this one
>Ed, visions are worth fighting for. Why spend your life making someone else's dreams?
>musical
rocky horror picture show
I'm only contributing because we appear to be getting at least some pics of that mexican lady so..
The gifted genius homie genre really piss me off. Flicks like Good Will Hunting, A Beautiful Mind and Powder are dogshit. But this one was actually pretty good. Though I hear the guy it's based on is actually a crap pianist in reality so
Portuguese
pitbawd?
my sassy girl (the korean one)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Musicals
Just absolutely brilliant.
romcom - jerry maguire
musical - south park movie
horror - pontypool
parody - black dynamite
Hercules (musical). la la land is on my list
ANONS???
Is this Lana Rhodes or the rat girl
given it's not a bogged plastic prostitute I would wager it is rat girl
Oof. Hadn't seen her in a while.
Horrible
The lips are a bit much but she’s still hot as frick. I don’t see what all you homosexuals are up in arms about.
>fake breasts
>fake ass
>bogged face
no thanks
For me? It's the shit that she's done. Those lips have been inside the rectum of a Black person. Would never want to touch that filthy fricking prostitute.
So it’s the coal burning that gets you? How do you deal with this in real life? Like is this a question you ask a girl irl and if she says yes you never see her again? Serious question.
I think you are genuinely mentally ill.
I don’t see what bearing my mental state has on my question which I see you conveniently didn’t answer. You do date women right anon? How do you handle getting this info and then what do you do about it.
kek if you would like to know, yes the question does come up "Have you ever dated a black person?" the question goes both ways, and usually it's even the girl who brings it up. Most white girls tend to say "Noooo. I'm not racist, but... uhh. Black dick is kinda gross to me." That is usually how that goes.
Sorry, Black person boy.
Interesting. Can’t say I’ve ever asked this question. I’m no stranger to racist white girls. Pretty much all white people are racist to some degree. I’m not black. I am puertorican and I exclusively frick white women. Lots of white girls flock to Hispanics because it’ll piss daddy off but it’s not going “too far” and all the way to black. I take full advantage. If it ever becomes serious and it’s time to meet racist old dad then I know how to turn the charm on and leave a good impression because I’m not a moronic Black person or some ghetto ass Hispanic.
I don't think you've ever been in a relationship, Paco.
Ah cmon guys. Just trying to be a bro. I was genuinely curious how white people discuss coal burning in new relationships since so many of you seem to have a problem with it. The only ones who get saltier about it are black women that frick white guys.
The topic of "who you've dated before" pretty much always comes up in any relationship, stupid beaner.
imagine thinking they have relationships to bring this up in
Fair point. I forget who I am talking to sometimes. I always think of the meme of a sweaty Cinemaphile virgin being just that but then I try to ask serious questions and get responses that could only make sense coming from the mind of a turbo virgin.
Cool fantasy bro. Just want you to know that your post reeks of virginity and inceldom.
Generally I don't date women who have had every kind of sex imaginable with a hundred men for money
I didn't ask you virgin frick.
For me it's drinking piss from some guy that looked like he had AIDS.
I mean this is a more valid concern for suppose but aren’t pornstars tested regularly? That being said I highly recommend getting your pissing wiener sucked. Heavenly feeling.
I'm not really into guys, but thanks anyway.
You've never dated anyone have you? Paid for sex, maybe, but you've never dated I think.
who hurt you sissy
>rat girl
WHO?
Daniela Melchior, who played Ratcatcher 2 in The Suicide Squad
she looked cute in the movie "Parque Mayer"
And this one, Pecado
boob
her skin is really beautiful bros
True
is that liza rowe?
No.
Hot Fuzz for parody movies.
don't you like movies like Airplane, Top Secret or The Naked Gun?
Not hugely
I usually don't like action movies but Predator and Predator 2 are fine
Punch Drunk Love, The Fountain
Tried to find a middle ages fantasy movie I liked, but I guess I don't really like any of them.
YA films, I actually enjoyed this one. The gimmick was neat. Sadly the sequels went away from that straight into generic YA dystopian territory and I lost interest.
I remember watching this in college and annoying this guy because I was predicting every development and plot twist all the way through correctly just by blindly guessing without much thought. Finding the bones in the woods, the conversations they'd have, who would be where at what time, who was dying to the bugs, the devices, etc, etc, even the ending twist.
I had never seen it before, idk how I did it, maybe it was just very formula.
Guys. I'm in love.
Lana Rhodes hasn't done anything in years idk why she gets mentioned at all. She's over. Get over it.
no one does except this one guy who seems to think he's a genius for saying it every time he sees Ratcatcher
I have hated most of these live action Disney remakes, and found them consistently inferior to their animated films with ugly fake looking visuals and lifeless recreations, but actually I liked their Cinderella redo. Good production design and casting, and it actually improved on some aspects of the animated film, which is slight in plot even by older Disney films standards.
Oh right you can show up NOW but 700 threads of Sarah Gadon spammed obnoxiously for the last two months and you're nowhere to be found.
The hypocrisy is tiresome
Hate sports ball movies but Rudy was pretty good
>is israelite a genre?
>musicals
>spoof film
Scary Movie 3, it has some really funny shit going on. It's hilarious.
>romcom
The Hottie and the Nottie
One of the lowest scores on imdb, still it's the same shit as American Pie or whatever from that era. Can't say i *really liked it* but it wasn't that bad
Biography - Downfall
Romcoms are usually complete shit but I thought Crazy Stupid Love was pretty good.
Joke's on you, I've got Cinemaphile x
biopics - I'm not There
50 First Dates
1776, musicals.
I may have to look at La La Land.
Don't usually like kids movies
The lesson I'm learning is stay away from American pornstars and head towards Portuguese actresses
At the very least, she probably never stuck her face into the butthole of a Black person. I mean... you never really know, but there is no documented proof of it.
>he doesn't know
Green eyes > blue anyway
Perhaps
if direct to video disney sequels is a genre, I enjoyed cinderella 3 and pocahontas 2, I like how they try to expand the world
Cloverfield
i can't stand musicals but mighty wind is one of my all time favorite movies.
Along with Blade Runner 2049, the only "distant sequel to old property" so popular in the last ten years that I've enjoyed, the rest are just lifeless rehashes.
>itt Cinemaphile hates on musicals
Also God of Carnage
Sweeney Todd, i fricking hate most musicals.
BENJAMIN....BARKER!
Before Sunrise / Sunset are the best romantic films ever.
I dislike romantic films.
(Love Actually is also fun)
((Before Midnight was good, but not on the same level))
Frozen
Why do the transgenders of this board (the janitors) delete any pics of attractive women even if it's on topic and relevant to the discussion?
They're paid off with empty peanut shells by that Gadon spamming homosexual
She looks familiar
she was in The Suicide Squad
>musicals are bad because...
I expect the replies to be dogshit with no original thought
Too many have songs that have no real place in the narrative other than to have the film/play stop to play a pop song. The best musicals integrate their songs into the narrative and the overall score.
>my taste is piss
anchovies tastes good you contrarian frickwad grow up
>implying
but anon i unironically like some musicals for the dancing alone. same reason i like martial arts flicks. just a sucker for good choreography
For all you gays who aren't into romance movies, be sure to check out Dangerous Liaisons 1988. It's simply one of the best romance movies ever made, top 5 no questions asked. Malkovich gives a top 3 performance that isn't anything like his usual meme self and Glenn Close gave her career best in this one. Fricking classic
>ITT: guys who are insecure in their masculinity going "I usually hate romcoms/musicals/cartoons but this one was really good. I'm not gay, shut the frick up!"
no anon op asked for film anon like in genre anon don't like
musicals are the anchovies of cinema
what was the image in the deleted post depicting
>really dry documentary about some shit that happened before you where even born

Watched this after Stone's JFK, good shit

The Dark Knight trilogy

Mean Girls is the only chick comedy I have ever enjoyed. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that it tricked me into trying more chick comedies and they were all universally trash except Mean Girls.
The thing. I love sci fi, but hate thrillers. What they do in that movie is absolutely masterful. Perfect film making, perfectly executed, notoriously underrated. The kicker is that if you speak polish or whatever language "he's" speaking at the beginning, you get a little spoiler.
Film: Elysium
Genre: Matt Damon movies
Really? That one?
Yes
damon is a kino machine and i'm tired of pretending he isn't
Heckin cute and valid. Same guys that did district 9 and chappie right?
Annie Hall - Romantic Comedy
I'll give you two:
Big Trouble in Little China and kung fu Hustle
Not a movie, but girls und panzer, the series and film
I despise sports and anything sports related
When I finished this, I went full autism
Hair, Musicals
My wife, as I normally dislike women
Never really disliked a genre, but I don't think much about romantic comedies, save for the kino that was Annie Hall
Just Friends - romantic comedy
I hate musical films, melodramas, and romance. And there's literally no fricking exception. Except if you count Fantasia, but this is a cartoon.
Mamma Mia
musical prostitutecore
our little sister - slice of life / drama
Ghibli films
Mr.fox
My favorite movie of all time, but I generally dislike Wes Anderson, his movies are boring autistic crap, but even a broken clock is right twice a day
Every single movie he makes is about dysfuntional father-son relationships
Nightmare on Elm Street
I hate slashers. They're so formulaic and boring. Halloween and Friday the 13th and Scream and all their sequels are all so forgettable. I don't know why I keep giving slashers a second chance. But I think the surrealism in Elm Street makes it far more interesting than your average slasher fare.
Romcom- I Give it a Year
I was at a bar last saturday and there was a girl that looked exactly like this chick, same skin tone, same big green eyes, tiny nose with a tiny piercing, etc. She was dancing with this guy I though was her boyfriend but soon enough I realized it was just a friend. While dancing she would turn in my direction but never look at me like consciously avoiding me. But every time I moved around the bar, which was packed, she would appear dancing next to me again. Her friend kind of tried to tell something to my ear but I couldn't hear what. She was just too pretty and my autism never let me talk to her, but I'm pretty sure she was into me. I think I'll go to the same bar again next week in the chance I see her again.
too late
anon
too late
the moment has gone she has moved on
just accept it
If she is there next week, just go for it
best of luck, you deserve it
Musical-Little Shop of Horrors
Romantic Comedy-Princess Bride
Australian Cinema-anything George Miller
Historical Drama-Amadeus
The Superman with Reeves and Hackman. Still best of the genre.
I had this recorded onto a vhs and watched it countless times but I can never remember any of it except Lois falling off of Niagara Falls for some reason and also the tomboy alien girl that I found a little hot but also kinda not hot
That's a man ain't it?
Bay's movies are trash, but the first Transformers movie is kino and it has soul/heart.
>)
All Transformer movies are kino
the 1st one is just a;lso a really fricking good movie
Rock Opera is kinda cringe but I'm always on lookout for de Palma kino.
I don't despise documentaries but I prefer reading a book to really learn something in depth. That said, The Century of the Self was riveting.
Mean Girls
Zombie - The Return of the Living Dead
Children's - Flight of the Navigator
Musical - Jesus Christ Superstar
RomCom - Romancing the Stone
>A challenge; name a film you really liked, in a genre you normally despise.
I despise musicals but I loved South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.
I don't really despise any genre, I only really watch movies that I anticipate I will like.
>musicals
blues brothers, pitch perfect
>rambling movies about nothing that can vaguely be considered romantic comedies
aloha
>zombie
life after beth
>spoof comedy
not another teen movie
>psychological horror
the voices
>western
high noon
>quirky indie shit
drinking buddies
>chick flick thriller
a simple favor
Despising a whole genre sounds like you're just low IQ or filtered tbh
hate period drama romance but like this movie a lot
Fireheart. It's a computer animated 'cartoon'. Not only that, but a lot of the imagery for characters is taken from more popular other cartoons (Minions, Into the Spider-Verse).
Yet the story is good and there's just something about it that I love.
test
Not a child, don't like children's movies. Loved every second of this and welled up at the end. Pure kino.
