Basically [...] and the fact that kids are more interested in teenage life than anything. The 2000s and even the 90s was full of >Make child/pre-teen character >Write for them as if they were in their mid teens
Trying to cash in on the immense popularity of shows like 90210 and Dawson's Creek
Because then it wouldn't be a kid's show or something. If they were actual teens, they'd have to deal with teen issues full stop, and they wouldn't, because then it wouldn't be a kid's show and their cowards or something, at least the execs are. >Mandatory alcohol episode >Drug episode >STD episode
Shit's moronic, but I guess kids larping as teenagers are more relatable to kids than actual teenagers.
Because it was Nickelodeon so it had to be acceptable viewing for 8 year olds. So the characters are preteens and the issues are watered down to Jr High levels.
One possibility I've heard is that the show was originally developed with the concept of them being teenagers with scripts written with that in mind but Nick execs insisted on it adhering to the ten years later concept from All Growed Up for marketing purposes. So they simply denied the characters by a couple years but kept a lot of the previous material intact despite feeling a bit off in tone.
Most likely it was a combination of writers being able to remember their teen years more clearly than the preteen years and unused scripts from other projects.
what were they THINKING? that's fricking brutal to put in a kid's show. Thought it was gonna be like, some minor lifts, obvious but not. Like. CHER or frickin madonna level.
No they weren't, they were unique and recognizable, but it was the classic big deformed head on a stick neck and weird body of the company.
However, I have to admit that I fapped a lot to those characters.
The big round heads were designed for baby characters but they couldn't change them too much to suit tween characters (who are written like older teens) without them being unrecognizable so it ends up looking weird.
The adults in Rugrats also had big heads. Honestly I don't even think the All Grown Up designs look particularly weird for cartoon kids, there's plenty examples of cartoons with even bigger head to body ratios and no one complains.
Not the most attractive style or the most skillfully drawn, but the designs were thoughtful, varied, and served the characters. You could tell them apart, but they still had cohesion. They had personalities and wardrobes to match. The layered fashion in particular is a nice kind of idealized realism, like the girls in Clueless. They're exceptional, but doable.
this + are ANY episodes worth watching? Any noteable moments worth looking up on youtube? Havent seen it since i was a kid, same with rugrats, only i actually look back fondly on rugrats.
I always thought they dress like they fell in a laundry basket. Odd because I don't think characters from As Told by Ginger dress this colorful. It might have something to do with the show's tone problem.
>this show teasing these 2
It wasn't but they genuinely had comedy duo chemistry. Who'd knew seeing the bully getting aggravated by the kid she's supposed to be bullying would be actually be funny? Had something to do with that Hey Arnold guy that co-created the original Rugrats.
More midriff
More midriff due to being chubby
‘How do you do fellow kids’: the studio
I mean look at rocket power. These are European israelites writing this!
Rocket Power was good and I'm tired of pretending it's not
Why’d they write them as teenagers? They’re 12.
12 year olds aren't interesting.
Actually they're ten. Angelica and Susie are 13, and Chuckie may be 12
What are ten year olds doing getting their first kiss and thinking video characters are kinda hot?

This is an exaggerated complaint.
They still act like kids, at least in season 1.
The show was apparently originally going to be set in high school but then last minute suits stepped in and said to change it to elementary school

By that point they were living in America
We're all living in America, anon.
yes
I'm disappointed we never got an abdl episode.
based anon.
this show was okay, like with rugrats i only care about angelica. botoxed charlotte is creepy as frick tho.
>botoxed charlotte is creepy as frick tho.
pfft if they really did that then it's accurate to her personality then.
picrel jumpscared me when i was looking for that angelica pic
being embarrassed isn't always so bad
what were they THINKING? that's fricking brutal to put in a kid's show. Thought it was gonna be like, some minor lifts, obvious but not. Like. CHER or frickin madonna level.
That's funny considering how many people see her as a role model.
She became an obnoxious stay at home mom who embarrasses Angelica constantly.
>like with rugrats
she's my favorite character
Yeah I know
Consider this a gift https://files.catbox.moe/x99h5x.png
shes so cute
UOOOOOHHH

For Klasky Csupo design, they were.
Still not peak like the human females on Duckman though.
This although mostly the first part since the Duckman girls tended to be caricatures. Sexy caricatures but I wouldn't call it 'good design'.
I will defend this show's art design. Good colors, detailed and varied clothing, good angles, consistent animation
It's just a shame the writing was so lame
honestly, yes.
the early 2000s fashion is scarily accurate

Lil was always cute.

Kimi certainly is doable.
I ship it
I suppose, I mean nowadays the fashion is pretty dated.
yes
except maybe for poor, mogged Lil
I do declare, Lil DeVille was the fairest of them all.
By her own brother, nonetheless.
So did Phil pretend to be his sister because he was gay for the guy that she likes?
Lil wanted Phil to dump him, but they connected.
I don't blame him, that guy was cool, Lil is gay for turning him down.
Would Kimi
brehs
>Angelica is so flat even the chinese girl has a fatter ass
Don't forget
>shoulders wider than hips
is so flat even the chinese girl has a fatter ass
i see no difference between the two anon
I'll always kek at the episode when lil started getting breasts, and phil was confused as hell about it lol. This show was wild.
I thought they were, for pretty much all of them
Yeah
they look fine to me
imagine if they looked like as told by ginger
anyone got a mega for the show?
this + are ANY episodes worth watching? Any noteable moments worth looking up on youtube? Havent seen it since i was a kid, same with rugrats, only i actually look back fondly on rugrats.
Charlotte getting fired was great.
>extra boys randomly show up as their friends for this ep, literally never seen again in the show
No, they were shit designs and you're a Black person. Frick you.
>Angelica has a choker and wears eyeshadow
at least Betty was more of a recurring character, she was always the funniest adult.
They ruined her in the reboot. They did Howie dirty.
when kimi and lil try out bras bruh
I wonder if Phil thinks his sister is hot
I can't believe they got away with that cupcake joke
>cupcake joke
Refresh my memory, please
phil calls lil flat
found from an old mega thread

Thanks, Anon.
thanks mate
>still never got an answer on if this is worth watching but i guess ill find out kek
Yes.
Yes, it is.
One of the few shows where they have different outfits.
Hell no
The only good thing about this spin-off was when Jonathan btfo’d Charlotte
they should have been in high school.
As Told by Ginger already covered that late middle school-early high school age group and it was far better than All Grown Up
Ginger was a hideous show. All Grown Up was more presentable. also better characters.
Ginger has weird and ugly character designs but the writing is much more interesting.
Malcolm in the Middle drip
I think they worked for the time period but they aged pretty badly.
I always thought they dress like they fell in a laundry basket. Odd because I don't think characters from As Told by Ginger dress this colorful. It might have something to do with the show's tone problem.
For some reason, I remembered this show teasing these 2 but I was apparently wrong

No klasky kupo is ugly gross out humor israeliteslop. It does not work for this type of show
