Already been considering going back to cable. Too many streaming services now, its not cost effective anymore
There is nothing good on cable besides sports though
Did this guy just call sports good lmao
yes
he lets the community softball team frick his wife
My parents have cable and whenever I visit them I’m forced to watch it and it’s the most boring repetitive bullshit and the commercial breaks are super long now.
>what is a remote control?
just because streaming is fricked doesn't mean cable is an acceptable choice. You're either an old man or a cable lobbyist you fricking moron.
^
Or maybe not a poor
>im considering going back to a format with completely different shows that is also ad supported because streaming services are also ad supported now
By the way, you morons do know that you can pay for one streaming service at a time and rotate what you're subscribed to every month to save money, right?
>pay
That's were you're wrong.
That’s more effort than 95% of the empty heads are willing to exert and you know it.
By the way, you moron do know that you can torrent literally everything for free and save money, right?
you cant torrent the sensation of touching grass, anon
Pure unadulterated copium
Keep wasting your money, NPC
>hes torrenting touching grass
you mean consider torrenting
>Zoomers STILL don't know how to torrent
Get with the program already.
I haven't had live TV in about 14 years. I never see it except in public and the commercial breaks make me dizzy now.
I watched Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives because that's the only thing they play on Food Network anymore and the show itself makes me dizzy. It's like it was edited by someone with ADHD.
Cable is absolutely not an acceptable alternative.
just pirate everything. frick the israelites
fricking dumbasses, just fricking pirate like the rest of us. I haven't watched a movie with commercials in ages. Streaming services are the enemy by definition. Never give your shekels to your corporate overlords.
Don't forget, pirates sail the red sea.
Just get an antenna and download shows.
Just go to sleep and dream of stuff.
Consider piracy. A VPN costs about $3/mo and lets you torrent whatever you want to watch without fear from your ISP or copyright watchdogs.
What happens when they go after all the people who have bought VPNs?
>vpn
Good goy. You know isps don't actually give a shit what you do, right? They want your money
They fricking shut off my internet and refused to turn it back on until I admitted guilt, and then they threatened to cut service if I did it again. Maybe they don't care in the third-world, but in America the ISPs are lapdogs to the entertainment industry.
which isp?
Black person I'm american. They say that to everyone, that's the part where you sack up and tell them if they ever mess with your connection again you'll take your business elsewhere. You will never hear from them again
I've been torrenting 24/7 in the UK for about 15 years now with three different ISP's and never once had anyone mention it.
>Give money to streaming service/cable company
:[
>Give money to vpn services
:()<-3
stfu you absolute morons. paying customers subsidize your piracy, so that streaming can continue to make money and the content that you pirate. the content doesn't exist out of thin air and ppl don't work for nothing. at least understand the structure of piracy and what makes it an option instead of trying to convince everyone to torrent.
prostituteshit, you the paying customer, are the problem. You keep this shitshow on the road. If you want to change how the film industry works it has to get burned to the ground first. I'll pirate until there's nothing left to pirate. Then I'll know the system will change. Maybe they'll frick it up again. And the cycle will continue. One pay system for all. Not some bs scam where we pay money to everything and everyone for the same content were in the end we own absolutely frick all.
Yeah that's totally how it will work instead of they'll just stop making stuff period and then you won't have anything.
Nonsense, at most those greedy corporate bastards will go bankrupt and someone else will take their place.Tv& entertainment in general will never die. Just the way it is financed and/or produced will change.
That's literally what /tv does btw. In any case I've no idea what your response has to do with my rant. You completely missed the point of my post. But have a good one sir.
>i'll waste my time pirating and watching a bunch of shit that i will inevitably b***h and moan about
cope harder or at least be honest with yourself.
Cable is horrendous now. Comedy Central plays Seinfeld and the office all day. It's honestly sad
The flip side of that is that Netflix doesn't have The Office anymore so with cable you can have The Office without having to pay for Netflix or Peawiener.
I like cable like dish or xfinity just for being able to switch to a channel when there’s nothing on or trying to decide watch to put on
>entire thread misses the joke
I got it, anon
explain it then, einstein
You wouldn't get it.
Then you're samegayging, got it.
What is lil zoomie gonna do? Pirate?
Zoomers are too scared of their own pidgeon to pirate.
No, because that requires more than a two second attention-span to figure out.
Jokes on you Boomers, Alexa just got upgraded so I can just ask it to do all the hard work and thinking for me.
They’ve been doing this for over a year now. How is this news?
I think they were only doing it with ads for their own stuff as a test
this is full blown commercials and it won't just be one before a two hour movie
Amazon bought imdb and created imdb tv, an ad-based service like tubi. It's called freevee now.
I'm using my prime account to get another disk asap.
Freevee is pretty good, my mother watched the entirety of The Virginian on it. The whole fricking show, it's 249 episodes and they're all an hour long. It took months.
I stopped watching movies, TV, and video israelite. I started losing weight and going outside more and now I'm fricking a new pussy every night
traded one israelite for another
I stopped watching TV in 2011. I'm not subscribed to any streaming service - never have. I only watch physical media. I own around 300 blurays/dvds. Mainly cult films and b-movies. The most recent movie I own is The Raid 2 (2014). Not been to the cinema since Dredd (2012).
Based. I don't pay streaming either, and the only things I watch on TV anymore are the channels with old sitcoms from the 60s to have on in the background. For kino I either buy physical, pirate, or watch on free platforms like Pluto and Tubi.
Surprised someone else here watches Pluto and Tubi, it's great for me since I'm too lazy to pirate and most of the stuff I actually want to watch is old movies I haven't seen before. It's like why bother going out of my way to pirate when there's more than enough for me to watch on these services without getting bored.
Youtube is the place for old movies. Better quality and no commercials.
>Better quality.
That varies. Sometimes the only option on YouTube is 360p. When I want to watch something that's on both YouTube and Tubi, I check both for a few minutes to see which one has the better quality. It's usually something you can tell at a glance.
Pluto quality is admittedly pretty bad and I only use it if there's no other option.
You'll never see something like this on Tubi, though.
Not on Tubi, but that movie is on TCM all the time. If you're unfamiliar with TCM that channel airs movies uncut, uncensored, without commercials, and in the highest quality possible. It's great.
In this specific movie's case they even include the 10 minute overture at the start which I just checked and that upload doesn't. Not to say the overture is all that vital, but it just shows the degree to which TCM goes the extra mile.
And not to downplay YouTube, but Lawrence of Arabia is not a particularly obscure movie so it's kind of funny to me that you would confidently imply that YouTube is the only place to find it.
This is what I will do once I’m done with college and actually have some money and room for stuff
I will also be getting a dodge charger so I can sit in my garage play creedence on my vinyl player while sipping on a beer, smoking a ciggy and polishing my charger that I will never drive because I hate people

I dunno if this is a thing outside America, but we have a library which is basically Blockbuster but free, you can borrow any movie you want once it's out on DVD. The only downside is it's only DVDs, almost never Blurays. The one time I got a Bluray was when I borrowed The Tree of Life and it turned out to be this weird DVD-Bluray combo box.
I haven't been to my local library in a while because it's depressingly empty but we have movies for loan, just usually odd/foreign/bad ones.
those prices are from the neat and clean used media store in my tiny shitkicker town, there's also a hoarder lady with a store that sells DVDs for 1 dollar (really good selection but you have to wipe everything down with alcohol after you get home) and if i go up to the Big Shitty there's a bunch of used DVD stores with more normal prices, anywhere from 1-20 bucks depending on how old and good the movie is.
I found Waterworld on Bluray for 30 and Beyond the Black Rainbow on DVD for 1
>second hand dvds

cases in the freezer for a week
What were your go tos? Mine let us take out 3 at a time and if nothing stood out i defaulted to the rock, con air, and the thief and the cobbler
My library lets me borrow at least a dozen DVDs at a time, more than I can possibly keep up with, I've never hit the upper limit so I don't know what it actually is, renew them endlessly as long as nobody is waiting for them, there's a bunch of shelves filled with all the DVDs but if you go on their website before you visit you can request stuff and they'll order it from a different library if they don't have it, and they leave it at the "reserved" shelf with your name on it, for you to pick up. You don't even have to talk to anyone, you scan and check out everything yourself at a little computer kiosk. There are very few movies that they don't have. As long as it has a DVD release, it's probably there. It's the best thing that nobody knows about.
By the way, where on earth do you get DVDs and Blurays for so cheap? Every time I've looked up a Bluray because I like a movie so much I consider owning it, it's like $15.
Buy it used you fricking troglodyte
I haven’t watched any of the movies or shows people post here I just like to make people mad

I'm struggling to lose weight. I get so bad urges to eat shitty food.
They put stuff in food in America, like chemicals and stuff because food is poorly regulated here. Move to England and you will lose weight without even having to change your diet.
but the obesity rate of england has rapidly caught up to the usa in recent years?
last i checked both countries are ~70% overweight, 40% obese
just about
you can't deep fry your toast sandwich and call it healthy because there's no chemicals in the cooking oil
Olive oil is actually healthy so if you use olive oil to deep fry it's ok.
olive oil is shit for deep frying. Use butter or ghee.
>stuff like stuff and like
Literally just move more. Instead of a 10 minute drive, go for a 60 minute walk. Structure your day around a walking route. Do some pullups, work on your pullups until you can do 10 perfect pullups, its a good guage of fitness and it'll take some time to reach a flawless 10. When i was homeless I walked absolutely everywhere, ate like a pig all the time, worked labour intensive jobs and I got absolutely shredded. Golden tan, felt like a sexual tyranasaurus because i wasnt watching porn, bathed in the ocean, and would soap up in the beach showers. I'm not saying you need to be homeless to be fit, but walking a lot, being in the sun, working out, not watching porn. They honestly do help a lot.
The rest sounds good but that much exposure to the sun sounds like a one way ticket to skin cancer.
skin cancer is a israeli lie
our ancestors were out in the sun 10x more than we are and they were fine
Our ancestors, huh? You mean the ones who had an average lifespan of 30 years?
Fricking idiot.
Average lifespan was low due to infant mortality, wars due to soldiers being young, and widespread diseases. If you lived to adulthood you had a decent chance to live to your 50's or higher. However skin cancer is real and generations of less and less UV exposure has made us more susceptible to it.
They also lived to be like 25 on average and now anyone who can breathe gets to be 80+
>They also lived to be like 25 on average
Infant mortality skews those results from years ago esl. You non Americans are dumb as shit. inb4 troon rage

This is what I did, it worked for me, I don't know if it will work for you.
You don't need to be at much of a caloric excess to gain significant weight over time. The number to know is 3500 kcal = 1 lb fat. Just 100 extra calories/day is 10lbs per year. My strategy is to eat normally for most of the year, then spend 1 or 2 months dieting at a daily deficit of ~750 calories.
The key to this is consistency and data. Weigh yourself at the same time every day and write it down. When dieting also record the calories of everything you eat. Then you will know if your plan is working or needs to be adjusted. Eat primarily lean meat and vegetables since those are the most filling for their calories.
>Cinemaphile - Television & Film
Or if you don't want to look like a sóyboy just do squats and oats until you can 1-2-3-4 plate then reverse diet.

Black person please - I block ads on twitch. But since I won't pay for prime which no longer guarantees faster delivery, I'll just pirate Prime instead.
there's ads on twitch?
yeah, they just remove the "i" to trick you
heh
who watches media on a computer? don’t you have a TV?
It already has ads though
I don't need their "content" that much.
Same, I use prime maybe twice a year now at this point.
Only ones I use regularly now are Hulu and Max.
I hate Cory Doctorow with all my heart, but he really was right about this one.
>waaaahhh he insulted my orange daddy!
Grow up.
Cory Doctorow has been shit for literal decades anon
People here only started caring enough to hate him because he didn't start worshipping the antichrist like they did.
The thought that someone would say "I hate Cory Doctorow with all my heart" when his most notable trait is... being against DRM? Is pretty pathetic.
this is how everything is
in order to attract people, think, the wild west or the internet at large, it starts off wide open, unregulated, shilled as the best thing since sliced bread etc.
once people get invested then they start slowly taxing, regulating, and squashing the life out of what made it cool and desirable.
rinse, wash, repeat.
its the same premise as hooking a client on a new drug, give them a good deal and then slowly line your wallet over time until they lose all ground in negotiations.
yeah, similar strategy
This guy is a moron and you're a moron for agreeing with him. The "solution" isn't to trust that companies have the best interests of consumers at heart, it's to vote with your wallet. It worked with Womyn Ghostbusters, it worked with Bud Light, and it's working on Disney well enough for the stockholders to get concerned.
Or maybe, just maybe, we're experiencing the failings of late stage capitalism taken to levels previously unseen and live in a world with instantaneous communication so we can see it happening faster, at real time, connected across the world to complain about it.
>connected across the world to complain about it
pretty much everything everyone b***hes about and some hustle on the side for money because that also is a booming thing
>failings of late stage capitalism t
moron
>it's working on Disney well enough for the stockholders to get concerned.
It is very famously not working with Disney. DeSantis keeps trying to back out of it because he realized he bit off more than he can chew, he keeps saying he's done with them meanwhile they're suing him into oblivion.
cope
all it matters with propaganda is if the people you're selling the lie to believes it
Who cares about the stock price. That's speculation. What matters is the dramatic drop in the sales of Bud Lite.
AnBev is a huge conglomerate. Bud Light is part of it. Bud is down catastrophically for a very long time now. There was no bounce back. No blow over. There’s sustained damage to a brand that tried to do something woke to reach a new “not fratty” audience for marginal improvements in sales.
With Bud being one of their strongest brands prior to this it’s absolutely crushing as a result and marketing people have spoken out on it having a “chilling effect”.
>I hate Cory Doctorow with all my heart, but he really was right about this one.
I mean it's not a new concept enshittification is just neoliberalism in action.
Yeah I think about this concept more and more lately.
>dump billions into shitty LotR fanfic series
>we need more money!
Netflix has been doing the same thing for years, though.
This. Just cancel s2 and stay commercial free.
People are delusional to think that show has anything to do with this, they would be announcing they're adding commercials even if they were making money just because the goal of these corporations is always to make more money.
This is clearly a direct result of the writers' strike. The people who run streaming services know they will eventually have to pay writers more and that will eat into their profits. And these people aren't just going to accept a profit loss. Expect every streaming service to inevitably implement ads and higher subscription prices.
You are moronic. This is only about increasing profit, they will never give in to the homosexual guild and their broccoli head demands
>implement ads and higher subscription prices.
but is it worth it?
they could pull this shit 20 years ago because there was actually stuff people wanted to watch.
it's a bold strategy
and dont forget they already make money on mining your info lol
your getting triple, nay quadruple taxed to watch black lesbian queen slay 3
>And these people aren't just going to accept a profit loss
Greed builds on greed tale old as time
If they actually cared about money they wouldn't be dumping billions of dollars into a series that no one watches. None of the CEOs care whether Amazon goes bankrupt or not. They'll just use their israeli contacts to hop onto a different corporation once Amazon fails, like they always do.
They've released the numbers that the series is by far the most watched show on Amazon but since you threw in that schizo shit about the israelites I'm sure facts don't matter to you and you'll proceed to give me some bullshit about how the numbers are fake.
>set show to autoplay on the homepage
>count all autoplays as views
>view number goes up
wow impressive
Yep, that's exactly the bullshit I expected you to spew. Come join us in reality when you're ready, we'll be waiting.
kind of funny how you people are so emotionally invested in defending trillion-dollar transnational corporations
What do you mean "you people"? I'm definitely not israeli if that's what you're implying. No, seriously.
I had prime for a year and the only good thing I watched was the expanse.
You have to know what you’re looking for and when you find it, you have to pay extra.
prime was the best streaming service overall with a huge amount of both free and reasonably priced rentals at the click of a button. I haven't watched it in a couple years really because of been training for the war, but I hate to hear it.
Just checked, still no ads on qbit.
qBitTorrent + Jackett + Radarr + Sonarr = bliss
I constantly get a "jackett error" message that doesn't seem to affect my searches, but I can't find anything online that solves the issue.
Use prowlarr instead
I don't want to torrent shit though, any good streaming sites for movies?
>I don't want to torrent shit though
Sorry to hear about your condition.
Torrenting is like telling the cops you're a theif.
yeah, you wouldn't download a car would you though?
Not if it would label me for life from the judicial system and hurt my career prospects.
im a pirate chad but this is deeply disturbing
i gain everything by the goy continuing to pay for entertainment and subsidize my kino
if they keep this shit up people will turn to pirating and they might actually have to make it harder for me
Keep calm my brother of the salty seas. Our fellow zoomers are too moronic to understand piracy and gen alpha doesn’t know how to use anything other than tiktok and literally every other generation is completely technologically illiterate yarr
This.
I'm shocked how many people here still have no fricking clue how to pirate.
Guide me.
just use fricking google holy shit
>everyone dropped cable for streaming to get away from the constant commercials
>now every streaming service has commercials
The only way to win is to not play.
I don't even mind commercials as long as I don't have to pay out of pocket to stream what I want on-demand. The problem is that Prime is so shit that you have to pay a fee to "rent" almost anything worth watching on top of the monthly subscription you already pay. Now they are going to add commercials to that? Frick that. This is why Pluto is better.
>have to pay a fee to "rent" almost anything worth watching on top of the monthly subscription you already pay
maybe things have changed but they used to have a decent amount of movies on rotation every month and yeah you had to rent stuff, but they had everything and the rentals where fairly cheep.
if you bought shit from prime and had a store card it would pay for most kino you would watch in a month
you're not doing it right
sunshine
but its sounds like they made it gay now
such is life!
>I don't even mind commercials
imagine thinking this, let alone typing it sincerely
Nobody wins some just lose more slowly
Oh no! those poor souls paying for prime video...
Apparently most people don't actually pay for Prime Video because it just comes for free with Prime Shipping which everyone buys.
Cable didn't have commercials at first either. It is never enough.
seriously what are people even watching in the first place
NOTHING looks even marginally good or entertaining
I really started to loathe streaming when they started pushing original content. I felt like a hacker when i found out i could get international netflix and watch all the cartoons i wanted that i couldnt get in Canada. Netflix and all those smaller free streaming services with ads were the peak of streaming because i could find old movies i loved like Indiana jones, and new movies I never heard of from other countries, or old films I never got the time to see. Now they push original content, and reprioritize where their money goes which means less money for licensing films i wanna see, and more money put into cheaply made modern bullshit
Prime gets streaming rights to a lot of good theater movies like Top Gun Maverick, it's actually comical to compare Prime and Netflix when you see just how rarely Netflix gets the actual good movies because they all go to Prime. It's no wonder Netflix is so heavily reliant on "Netflix Originals" where with Prime that is just one small facet of their content.
How come the lefties of hollywood are all grifters who lie constantly?
And take Russel Brand and Danny Masterson with you.
>throwing two of your own under the bus
Sad
Excellent. The lugenpresse is collapsing and antisemitism is sky-rocketing.
I've already been seeing unskippable ads in the beginning of movies and shows on Amazon for probably a year and that pisses me off. If they go full-blown TV with ad breaks every 10 minutes then there is literally no point in paying for streaming.
You can skip them but they're intentionally as annoying as possible about it, the cursor defaults to the "watchlist" button so you press the center button trying to skip and accidentally add it to your watch list. You have to press right and move the cursor to the skip button and then hit skip.
Streaming services are collapsing.
It makes sense since streaming isn't profitable, and charging an extra $3 for no ads will help.
Just curious, is pirating still popular? I heard the younger generations are technologically moronic.
Most zoomer normies don’t know how to do anything that isn’t social media related and gen alpha is completely clueless about the “dark side” of the internet.
Most of them think Cinemaphile is this mythical beast it’s fricking hilarious
>Most of them think Cinemaphile is this mythical beast it’s fricking hilarious
lol
That's just millennials coping about the younger generations same way boomers would cope about millennials. I'm the smart millennial who knows not to underestimate gen z.
I’m a zoomer that grew up online so I know all this shit but I also know that 95% of zoomers are completely clueless about pirating and illegal streaming because I fricking talk to people about it
it's because zoomers dont use computers
it is completely accurate my guy
>t. spent too much time on Instagram interacting with normies
there is always a small% of people of any generation that know how to do things and the rest are moronic.
Trying to find stuff like old comedy specials is so hard now. I should've saved a bunch of shit years ago.
They are, we somehow learned and unlearned how to use computers in the span of a generation. I hear the same moronic shit from people in their teens that I do from people in their sixties.
2 generations had to learn fundamentals
i had to learn ms-dos to play fricking video games on a pc when i was a kid and needed to learn how to configure a dial-up modem to connect to the internet
now they just buy an iphone or mac and everything is set up for them
For years I saw people posting cherrypicked polls like "Heh look at this you frickers, gen Z is more conservative. We are winning." Then that turned out not to be the case and people start screaming "OOOOOOH I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG GEN Z WE MUST RAISE THE VOTING AGE NOW". Just funny how quickly the pivot went from worshipping them to despising them just because they turned out to not be sociopaths.
Well they love trannies and other invented social diseases so clearly they are sociopaths
all lgbt-alphagettos are mentally ill perverts. it's made up by israelite (sexologists) for population reduction
I feel like it's more than that, the helicopter parenting of the 90's was brought to the new generations and they are incapable of critical thinking because their whole lives have been endlessly curated by their parents. As a result, the basic tenet of just looking shit up escapes people. I've got a friend who is 24, he had an issue getting a package because the post office didn't give him the locker key. He's freaking out, so I looked up the number for the post office and bam, problem solved. The first fricking thing I thought of never occurred to him and he wasted a weekend worrying about it.
not a Zoomanoma but I used to pirate hard to get thing a decade or so ago and it was a major pain in the ass so I stopped. There's nothing left to watch so I've moved on
That's part of it too, all the good piracy websites got shut down and the ones that remain are a mess of viruses.
not anglos pirate everything.
I have a buddy that's been terminally online just as long as I have, we're both in our late 30s and he's always been a little homosexual that's terrified of pirating because he genuinely believed the "you wouldn't download a car" ad and got scared by the first ISP letter he got as a teen. I don't really think it's a generational thing, it's more a susceptibility to propaganda thing.
nobody even watches prime video
Why would I pay 15 dollars per month to watch shitty movies with ads when I could watch shitty movies with ads for free on Tubi?
because you get "free" shipping on you 6 dollar Chinese shit
I would like to add that amazon has one of the shitiest searches algos around and seems to be purposefully made that way to funnel you into buying more expensive shit from their distributors.
>Go to yandex
>type "Watch {show/movie} online free"

capitalism is totally sustainable you guys
it's more sustainable than your festering wound
you can also use internet and pirate everything in capitalism, now try doing that in north korea, you fricking subhuman trash
Always straight to the third world countries with you people. There are plenty of socialist countries that are great, like Sweden, but nobody ever mentions those.
Sweden is like 15 years away from being a third world country lmfao
the whole west is 3rd world for millenials and zoomers
you mean the ones run by Caucasian people. don't worry that is being destroyed by foreign invaders as we speak
the opposite is true
morons like you always point to sweden (which is in freefall as we speak) instead of the countless other examples of socialism/communism which reflect the end result, rather than the transition period

WORKER AND PARASITE
Streaming has never been profitable for Amazon. They've been doing it as a way to increase prime memberships, which is very profitable for them, but the streaming in and of itself doesn't make money. The need to raise prices comes from wanting to actually make streaming profitable, and also to offset any extra costs from whatever deals the unions settle on, plus the general devaluation of the dollar through the evil practice of inflation.
That's exactly why this is bullshit, they rake in so much money from Prime memberships that they can afford to lose money on streaming and just have it be a nice bonus thing they offer to incentivize Prime memberships. But no, they're greedy.
It's not a fricking charity. They want to make money, not lose money.
Which is why they make money from Prime memberships. You know what causes people to buy things? Giving them a good deal. This, my friend, is not a good deal.
>Streaming has never been profitable for Amazon.
Why do people still naively believe and repeat lines like this? Everything to do with mainstream neoliberal economics is BS until proven empirically otherwise.
Amazon itself has never been profitable. Yet it's continually grown to be one of the biggest companies around and Bezos is one of the richest men on the planet. Hmmmm. Could it be that accounting israelites just got up and told lies to the public? No way.
The ironic thing is I don't think Bezos is even israeli, people just call him israeli because apparently in people's minds, having money = being israeli.
Whatever he is he's fake as frick and obviously a front for the "Intelligence" community. Or at least he's been selling his ass to them and other powerful interests.
This is rarely talked about when discussing Jeff Beelzebubos and his rags to b***hes story, but Amazons most profitable group is web/data hosting and I firmly believe it’s because they have fat contracts with the glowBlack person spooks to harvest data off Amazon servers and give it over to the alphabet boys.

You realize that there's probably a billion more people with phones than a decade ago, right? The costs for streaming are just going up and up with new customers. You could call that unsustainable growth, but it's not a simple as just trying to wring more money out of people.
the other day I had to pay 60 euros to get free shipping. amazon is circling the drain. I'm happy I got out of prime.
>mfw I don’t stream
>mfw I push my running man vhs tape into my vhs player for the 1000th time and I actually rewinded it before I went to bed the last time I watched it
Ad companies have pulled off the greatest trick in history convincing companies that buying ads = making more money and that ads NEED to be everywhere
>Make billions of dollars
>Ruin everything in effort to make another billion
Asinine shit.
noooo not muh heckin tv shows nooo
I've been thinking of getting rid of it for a while now, I barely watch anything on it and I've heard that Grand Tour is ending next year, so this sounds like the end for me.
If that happens I’m canceling prime and pirating or buying dvds
How do their shitty ads even generate any money
Most of the time they're advertising the streaming service that you're literally watching the ad on, it's like what was the fricking point of interrupting me using your service to tell me to use your service? Fricking moronic
The same way any other form of advertising generates money, the company pays them to show the ad because the venue has value in the form of exposure.
go woke go broke
YEAH! Oh shit. Nevermind.
Good thing I only have prime for the shipping. Never going to buy the music israelite or the video israelite.
she's hot
Hulu no ads is going from 14.99 to 17.99, will probably just cancel it.
>Amazon Prime putting ads into their pay service
>Paramount+ putting ads, I mean PARAMOUNT ADS into their ad-free service
When will it end?
>oh no, you have to watch a few 5 sec ads. How terrible
Grow up.
>oh no, you have to not make 2 cents from anon watching the ad
Grow up, Chaim.
oy vey but the shekels and the propaganda opportunities
>hmm, how can I fit /misc/shit into this
>hmm, how can i simp for greedy israeli oligarchs on my Friday night?
>oy vey you can't make jokes about israelites!
ACCELERATE
the sooner all legacy media collapses the better
Is there a single streaming service worth subscribing too? It's all goyslop "content"
no. never been a better time to have an antenna though. lots of great non-pozzed reruns
people will still pay for it
you won't do shit
you will eat the bugs and you will be happy watching netflix with ads.
Why don't they just try making shows that aren't total shit? They throw so much money at producing or obtaining content and yet haven't created a single thing of value.
*blocks your path*
>capeshit
>not total shit
>one example in a million counter examples, is the case that proves the point
>You know that thing that was unskippable and caused everybody to stop watching cable?
>What if we add that back to streaming and start charging extra for ad-free
It was always going to come back to this once the streaming companies became the big dogs wasn't it?
>It was always going to come back to this once the streaming companies became the big dogs wasn't it?
well no shit, do you think Uber is going to not charge Taxi Cab prices once they run them out of business? The point of these "new techs" is to disrupt the current market and then charge as much or more of it once they're entrenched, tales as old as time, set up shop lower prices to outcompete and kill your competition, gouge.
except now the ride experience is worse than Taxis, the drivers get paid worse than Taxis so they give less of a shit, and the company doesnt even make a fricking profit.
AirBnBs now are worse than hotels in every way.
removing the personal aspect just lets them be shittier
>except now the ride experience is worse than Taxis, the drivers get paid worse than Taxis so they give less of a shit, and the company doesnt even make a fricking profit.
>AirBnBs now are worse than hotels in every way.
>removing the personal aspect just lets them be shittier
Well yes but that's not the concern of the people taking the money now is it? When has a corporation ever actually cared about the end user? This has always been how it is.
thank god states are putting in restrictions against gig economy bullshit.
a few big ones and all those companies will go under paving the way for better experiences locally
>thank god states are putting in restrictions against gig economy bullshit.
>a few big ones and all those companies will go under paving the way for better experiences locally
Hard to say what will happen, Taxis companies come back to prominence, all rideshares die completely, gonna depend on the margins.
Yeah I don't think it will be "better" so much as "back to how it was before." You won't get people who try to cheat the system by multiapping because they can actually get fired from their jobs.
>"back to how it was before."
Which is better, you need actual people liscensed to operated a taxi-cab, with liability to the taxi company, can't get rides from meth'd up morons speeding 60 past the limit because you rolled the wrong day to get an uber from this dude.
The only reason Ubers was ever better was cheaper prices, potential less wait times, and the early days of Uber, the drivers actually surprisingly gave a shit.
>paying, MONEY, to watch woke schlock
>Prime
cancelled this month when I realized I haven't ordered any amazonslop lately and I live close enough to a distribution center I get 2 day shipping on free shipping anyways most of the time. Ads are just a cherry on top why I won't go back
>Netflix
Cancelled this month anyways, which I only had for 2 months because of a few shows they put out I wanted to watch, probably won't go back to anymore.
>Max
Cancelled shortly after dropping HBO from the name, and the end of succession (Last good thing HBO will ever release)
>Hulu
My ace in the hole for easy, replayable shows I love for background noise like IASIP, is raising their base price to 18 dollars next month.
Cancelled this month as well.
>AppleTV+
Still cheap, still has shows I want to support like severance, silo and shows I did support like Ted Lasso that are now over. Will probably drop eventually after severance ends, but as a streaming service it's all 100% original content. and just seems to be prestige content to add to the apple brand name.
surely, certainly we're going to see streaming fall off a cliff right? I used to keep these all running together concurrently, but now they're just asking to much while constantly making the product worse.
I truly don't get their end game.
>surely, certainly we're going to see streaming fall off a cliff right?
No. Cable is dying, and streaming is where all content is going. Even sports, the only thing cable really has going for it these days, are now moving to streaming. It's still got a few years, but streaming is the future. They're maturing now and figuring out how to make money rather than operating at a loss to grow subscribers. Even if you pay for all the major services, with their recent price increases, it's still cheaper and more premium than cable. And you obviously don't have to pay for all of them, just the ones you want.
Yeah buit if al lthe content theyre selling is trash certainly zoomzooms will just stick to their influencers.
That's why you're seeing services cut back on the number of shows they're making. They were previously trying to just pump out endless content to get as many subscribers as possible, but now they're focused on fewer shows and profitability.
Also the library of classic films on Max is worth the price alone, even without any new Max content.
enjoy you expensive slop
I have YouTube TV, it's good for a bunch of shows that are on TV all the time without paying a service, I have the entirety of IASIP recorded and you can fastforward through commercials so I can watch it any time.
Google keep jacking up the price though. Pissing me off.
I've been a pirate for life though, I just archive everything I like on a NAS.
Writers call themselves artists but they really just sell soap.
Prime used to be my favorite streaming service. They had tons of stuff I wanted to watch, old stuff, cheesy barbarian movies, black and white. Then they moved everything I like to freevee. Fricking trash morons. I HATE THE ADVERTCHRIST I HATE THE ADVERTCHRIST.
This.
> couldnt get in Canada.
Also this
Get a vpn and download stremio app or get a vpn and use himovies.to. It's that easy to be a pirate
>I steal movies, I never pay for them
>Why doesn't Hollywood make movies that appeal to me?
nta, but Hollywood hasn't made movies that appealed to me in years and I only recently started pirating.
>increase revenue
Brave browser blocks all 3rd party ads, I don't think it can block Amazon prime ads though
I know that google can see the sites I visit. I just don't want the porn sites clogging my history. Incognito is good because if I'm typing a website when I'm not using incognito it doesn't suddenly suggest a porn site I've been to. So I use it because I, personally, reap the benefits.
ok, but you'll still end up getting ads related or semi-related to the sites you're visiting on Incognito
so no, you're not reaping any benefits. Google is reaping benefits by selling your browsing history (including incognito history) to 3rd party companies that can do whatever they want with that information (your IP is forever linked to this data that Google collects, btw)
>ok, but you'll still end up getting ads
Are you moronic? I use Adblock.
>Adblock
lmaooo. Damn, didn't realize I was talking to a genius! You're absolutely safe from Google's data harvesting and malicious 3rd parties with your little ad block.
I regretted using the word moron because that's not a word I like to use but your response shows me that you have well and truly earned it.
>google can see the sites I visit
WHAT????
god is always watching what's the issue anon.
Thoughts on Matthew 19:24?
Jesus beloved in charity not socialism
All I do is rewatch Star Trek DS9, Voyager and the Lord of The Ring movies. And I watch wrestling in demand using the channels app. I have no need for new shows and movies. I literally have enough to last a lifetime.
i dont know who pays for prime video on its own, every one pays for prime for the delivery service.
they can frick over their platform but people will still be forced to buy their sub for the main service, prime video was a great toss in feature, now its just TUBI with a different library.
Next month Tubi's getting The Green Mile, Troy, Jackie Brown, Dune (1984), They Live, and Kikujiro, among other things. All a bunch of old movies I'd like to see but haven't yet. Tubi is great for people like me, I can see all these good movies without having to pirate it and adblock works on it if you watch it on your PC so I don't even have to deal with ads. Occasionally they get some recent but not too recent stuff that's kind of interesting too, I see Sorry To Bother You, Guns Akimbo, and Space Jam 2 are coming as well. I haven't heard very good stuff about Space Jam 2, but it's free and I liked the original Space Jam as a kid so I think I'll check it out. I like trying movies that people say bad things about because I prefer to judge them for myself.
I feel like I should probably try and keep Tubi secret because it's really good right now and I'm sure as more people find out about it, they'll start doing things to ruin it. But I'm just impressed by how many good movies are out there for free if you care to look and don't mind that they're old.
>let's just frick our customers further that's gonna help our revenue
how about you give people something worth a shit pirate go brrrr
I have never paid for or even used a streaming service.
>to increase revenues
Amazon makes more money than god each year. What the frick am I reading?
numbers need to go up and then more up, in perpetuity
>Amazon makes more money than god each year.
Not from streaming.
I literally have Prime and I STILL pirate any series I watch on it.
The only streaming services I pay for are Retrocrush and HiDive to watch anime.
>paying for streaming
That will be 5, no 9.99, no 12, no 15 bucks a month. 20 final offer. Plus tip. Plus ads. Ok, 30 bucks a month plus unskippable ads in the middle of the show.
playstation plus did this too
created 3 different tiers, i just kept the lowest one and recent got an email saying it's going up like 30%
it had already renewed for a year a month earlier but i'll be cancelling before the next one
Oh cool, thing you pay for now will include ads FRICK YOU
>Andbutso the fall of streaming begins.
who even uses or pays for legal streaming sites? Even when i've got access to a streaming service i'll find a pirate streaming site to watch it on instead.
I should thank these companies for forcing me to stop consooming and start doing something productive with my time like practicing music or reading. They think I will just pay like a good piggy when really they are causing me to reflect on what these services truly bring to my life.
>the fall begins
You dont mean that anon
Hang on
Mrs. Maisel, I'm too unfamiliar with the plot of this show to make a proper Banepost.
hahaha pirate chads just keep winning
They already lost me when they started running unskippable trailers for other Prime trash. I'm not interested in some cringy prank show starring a z-list celebrity or Jennifer Lopez action comedy. Please understand.
Nowadays I only pay for shipping.
