I’m done with all these streaming services. I started a collection about two months ago. Just buying some of my faves or what I consider an 8/10 and above, I opt for 4K versions if available. Sounds amazing on my 7.1.2 set up.
What do people think of my collection? Anything missing?
>inb4 Drive 4K, that’s on its way.

Eh he has a few good ones. He should sell quite a lot though to create space for real treasures.
Yeah i just started. I like the arrow videos and japanese
Yeah Arrow is great. I got the 4K Battle Royale on their sale the other day.
Have you looked at vinegar syndrome or severine films for some more ubderground stuff
Nah I haven’t, I don’t mind looking if their hidden gems but if it’s some weird torture fetish in grungy styles then I ain’t into that stuff lol
Yeah I normally check avforums as I know some 4Ks are just a 2K upscale so at that point, if it’s just a drama or something it’s not worth it
What would you consider shit in my collection lol. A few are blind picks I haven’t got around too yet.
Severine and vinegar syndrome are mostly horror from the 50s to 90s. Some gorey stuff I dont lik3 , but other kino
>"What would you consider shit in my collection"
>The Green Mile
>The Bounty Hunter
>War of the Worlds
>Valkyrie
Not much that is absolute shit. I more meant a lot of meh films. Just watch them all and you'll find them and weed them out. I actually didn't catch The Thing and ET. If you haven't seen them sit down and watch those first they're both solid films.
Also for God's sake get the og True Grit if you're gonna own the remake.
>The Green Mile
Wait what you don’t like it? I feel it’s similar to shawshank and can be rewatched many times.
>The Bounty Hunter
This is just coz I have a gf so gotta have a few romcoms lmao
>War of the Worlds
Besides the girl being annoying sad I love this movie
>Valkyrie
I vaguely remember watching it on release and enjoying it, maybe upon a rewatch it’s not so good.
And I didn’t know there was an original to true grit, thanks for letting me know.
>"The Bounty Hunter This is just coz I have a gf so gotta have a few romcoms lmao"
Understandable. If The Bounty Hunter gets you puss go ahead and keep it for now, but if I may humbly suggest better from coms:
>Grease(78)
>Mean Girls(2004)
>The Matchmaker(97)
>Shallow Hal(2001)
>50 First Dates(2004)
>Knocked Up(2007) (only good Seth Rogan movie)
>Groundhog Day(93)
>Clueless(95)
>The Hottie and the Nottie(2008)
>Management(2008) (much better Jennifer Anniston flick)
Yes but I exclusively buy dvds because high resolution is fricking gay
So do you play new games at like half-resolution on a potato?
I don’t play new games. I play the same 10-15 years old games that I’ve always played.

I grew up before games even had online multiplayer. But that doesn't stop me from noticing the difference between Centipede and The Last of Us
>The gays of Us
LMAO
I don't care about the TV show; the original PS3 game is a very good cinematic stealth game.
Nah, it's slop
The original the last of us game is good, I also like those playable movie games on the ps4 that I don’t remember the name of right now
for me it's cs 1.6 on fridays when my favorite server is full of racists with porn sprays
any other day it's stalker with hundreds of russian mods
last of us 1 was ladder simulator 2013, it was alright because ellie a qt before they ruined her
mgs4 was one of a few movie games I enjoyed, when you weren't in a cutscene the gameplay was good and when you were, it was batshit crazy
yes
This is what I did until 2 days ago when my drive failed.
Now I've got a total of 1 movie downloaded.
I used to have blu rays, I mean I still do but I stopped well over a decade ago. I don't want to haul around a bunch of shit the rest of my life, went full digital and grow my library every month with new movies. When I run low on space I just get 2 new HDDs so I can have storage and a backup.
Nice collection. Needs more older movies though.
I had an extensive one. Burned up in a fire. Fricking regrettable waste of money.
Maybe you should try not being moronic and brown
Neither, schizo.
Your logic is gay though
>Buying blu ray is a waste of money because...le fire burns or something!
Literally anything is a waste of money by this logic, because almost anything you can buy can burn.
Perhaps this board has no clue, but Fandango is killing the Vudu app in "coming weeks". Just saying, fire isn't the worst killer of media. The owners are.
>I opt for 4K versions if available
cringe
it sucks, but you actually have to research whether or not they've been fricked with in some way
for example, 4K Jaws looks worse than standard Bluray Jaws; they desaturated the colors and fricked with the levels to bring down the highlights, giving the image a very 'flat' feel by comparison
it's hard to say which was the original. people complained about the HD version of Scooby-Doo Meets the Boo Brothers until someone pointed out that Ted Turner had fricked with the one everyone thought was the original
it's not hard at all, you can compare to VHS or the various DVD editions, all of which look much closer to the standard bluray than to the 4K one. For example, here's the 30th anniversary DVD—the standard bluray is very similar, the big changes being that on the bluray the midtones are brought up in lightness a bit for clarity, the edges are cropped a bit to remove vertical lines, and the vignetting is fixed.
>bring down the highlights
These screenshots are irrelevant for brightness comparison because 4K HDR can go up to 4000nits while jpg/png are limited to SDR brightness (100nits?) same as blu-ray discs.
I have the Jaws 4K. The screenshot are a bad comparison because the HDR has been converted to SDR and the benefits of 4K have been degraded by downscaling.
I'd say the 4K is more true to life in colour. The DVD and bluray are more vibrant which will look better to some people. Depends on personal preference.
My dad said the 4K looks how he remembers seeing it in cinema.
I never stopped buying discs even when streaming emerged.
I like physical media too but, that's a bit much, anon. I mean, how are you supposed to re-watch all of that?
There aren't that many films in the history of cinema worth owning. Post your vidya collection.
>Post your vidya collection.
I don't really have one, it's just a scattering of stuff from childhood, the CRT is more for old shows. With the best will in the world 405-line recordings are never going to look great blown up onto a 65" screen.
You tried to hide them, but I see them. It's OK, it's not more embarrassing than Dr. Who and your Woody Allen box set.
No, I own games, but they're not a "collection", it just a bunch of stuff I owned as a kid. About half of it's PS2 shovelware.
Blu-ray is fricking sweet. I picked up Total Recall for 25 cents yesterday. The librarian is like, "you like Blu-ray? we can't get rid of these..." OH HELL YEAH
I just started.
>Apocalypto AND War of the Arrows
Why would you want the shitty rip-off version.
I have a few
Shit taste
Back home I bought the frasier funko pop I found at walmart
>the random plastic garbage between the movies
Why do leftist millennial men who let african american men frick their wives do this?
>no 4K Resident Evil box set
OP has trash taste and is ngmi.
>no blu ray evil bong boxset
NGMI
No big deal just enjoying my Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Barbarian Returns ultra 4k editions
It’s just anime
>Abunai, Kurisu-kun
Are these shoujo or something? Maybe it's because they're in English but I don't recognize a lot of this
Yeah it’s mostly romcom schlop. Half of it is stuff that I watched and wanted to own it, but the other half is stuff I just grabbed on a big sale.
>The Sopranos
What's the best anime moment?
Forgot to quote you, but I would love to add anime to my collection but they’re either hard to come by, expensive and in too many parts, have nasty yellow subtitles, etc. I just have a dedicated server for anime related stuff and to shows.
I don't even own a TV
>pointless clutter that nobody gives a frick about besides autist
>scares away pussy
burn it
This is all of it so far. I find them at pawn shops and fleamarkets for cheap.
Good collection.
So this shelf holds 13x13 for a total of 169? Nice. Do you have room for anymore or is this it?
I recently bought a bunch of Bond blu-rays mostly because I'm interested in the Roger Moore commentary tracks. I am not a fan of these modern covers though
>started
I've been collecting dvds for years. There are still a bunch I haven't watched yet, though. I enjoy watching all the behind the scenes footage and deleted scenes.
