Yes absolutely. Some movies benefit from an immersive experience (like those 4D theaters for movies like Avatar which have nothing to offer but cool special effects) but generally speaking they are a waste of money.

3d on monitors tends to make things look small. Don't know if vr are better at it.

Fury road in 3d was hands down the best cinema experience I ever had.

3D fricking sucked and gave me a headache. The glasses would tint the movie so it was darker and a lot of the time cinemas just played the movie out of focus. Fricking terrible

    No, not at all.
All I want is for them to shoot kinos with actual 3D cameras instead of post-conversion.

I'm one the few people who really enjoyed 3D when it was done well, most of the time the "3d" felt like looking at different layers of cardboard cutouts though. The most prominent 3d effect was the subtitles though which I assume most Americans missed out on.

    >tfw they stopped showing 3D movies in my city's cinemas because people kept stealing the 3D glasses
    I hate my country

Why would they even get stolen? The vast majority don't have 3D cameras.

Were they those fancy mechanical ones or something? I can't imagine those cheap polarised film ones are so expensive that it would harm them financially if people kept them

The moment that shit became a thing again I knew it was a gimmick and would die again soon.
    Same with those VR goggles.

But it's just a matter of time until they revive that shit again for another attempt.
