It’s the trap of “oh I’ll eventually get back to it” but then your life changes too much and you never go back to the damn thing.
But I actually will get back to it, sometime this week, maybe
Ronnie never had a girlfriend, he just talked to some pinay bawd online for a mouth or so, I'm not even sure if they ever met.
after he stopped doing the webcomic he was still doing animal crossing streams for a bit. I'm pretty sure he had a few girlfriends and one long term relationship.
I still miss Gone with the Blastwave and Skadi.
>Skadi
Fricking, why'd you have to remind me.
Well gone with the blast wave is still going
Author is just taking a long time
as an artist I can confirm this
is true and probably the case for most independent projects that don't have real endings
he did say he was switching to another project... which he also abandoned
>he did say he was switching to another project... which he also abandoned
What was the other project?
From Earth in Peace. Long form science fiction comedy where an alien makes first contact with humans, only to realize that humans have (apparently) genetically engineered themselves to be children forever? It's weird, the writing is fairly dry, and it's not actually all that funny. And Ronnie clearly doesn't have the artistic chops to actually sell anything that isn't a quick gag comic.
Leave Rannie alone or I will fricking fite you, homosexual.
Lol suck my dick you useless trashcan
Bring it, c**t.
Better to end in a bright note than end up as a zombie propped up on a netflix show
See You, Space Cowboy
>artist cans his entire project <10 pages from the ending
>because he got bullied on twitter
Twitter is a mistake
>10 pages from ending
No fricking way... If I was author, it would haunt and annoy me till the end of my days
Yeah, but then you'd get used to the feeling and do nothing anyway.
With a story driven comic I'd agree, but it's always been a gag comic, so going dark when they don't have a gag to illustrate is fine.
For ronnie's case, he just moved on to a different, shittier project.
For kaz's case?
he was always a fricking hack and I hope he dies horribly and painfully.
Katia is a good fap fodder at least
Kazerad was inspired by Andrew Hussie but took artwork way more seriously than he did, and so was affected by Andrew's webcomic going up as a trash fire
See this is a good end though. It started with Kratos and it ends with Kratos.
This is a fine ending, it doesn't need to have a giant fricking THE END superimposed on the final frame
It really did come full circle
Personally, gag-a-day type comics get a pass from me.
Feels like having a newspaper comic just stop showing up one day.
Kinda sucks, but nothing was technically left unfinished because no finish line was ever committed to being reached.
For fricks sake, just move on. It's dead.
>artist opens a patreon
>locks the privilege of the comic updating behind milestone
I wonder if Two Guys and Guy is updating again.
>Two Guys and Guy
Aw, man. Good times.
Long ago times, but still good times.
Where is his replace?
I wish the comic had ended here with the beginning of the Oblivion Crisis and the destruction of Kvatch. It'd have been tragic and heart-wrenching, but it'd have been a lot more cathartic than the limbo the comic is in now.
Somehow Awkward Zombie is the only webcomic (that I know of) that still updates on the same schedule for 15+ years and didn't sell out to shitty outsourced side projects or adaptations (because it was game jokes to begin with, so nothing to adapt), devolve into politics, or die off to radio silence.
Freefall.
He lost weight and decided not to continue with a comic entirely about about fat jokes or he would be weightphobic.
>source?
>why, my ass, of course
I wish Ronnie had gone over to the sunset like that, the actual events are sadly more fitting and moronic.
is there an outline of the actual events? he wasn't as fat as when he started the comic last I saw.
What i think happened:
>is a kissless virgin loser
>use that as your way to make comics and find success
>finally gets a gf and tastes real happiness for the first time
>suddenly gets bumped, realize what real depression feels like
>can't use depression as a way to make comics anymore
But then again haven't read the alien comic so i dunno how depressing that is
>suddenly gets bumped
I didn't get that impression at all. It always sounded more to me like it was the other way around: He had a depressive episode and she dumped him because she didn't want to put up with it.
I’m still alive, I swear, things just keep coming up. I definitely have more of an incentive to continue than Ronnie does, since the comic is my job while Ronnie is the CEO of some company involving crabs and matchsticks.
I admit though, the attitude of “I wish the author at least gave it some closure” always kind of confused me? If it’s a quick ending the author creates for the sake of having an ending, it doesn’t seem that much different from just a fan continuation. There are definitely half-finished works that I want to see continue, but it’s because I want to see where they were going, not just for the closure of there being an ending.
While I have no intention of giving up, I feel like it’s not /contentious/ to say that shows and stuff that never get a proper ending are better than ones that try to fit three seasons worth of material into a final episode because their budget got cut? Not naming any names.
I know, roght? Like, Game of Thrones had 5 great seasons and stopped. We should all appreciate what we had instead of wishing they kept going and got the dumbest guy in the room to make up an ending just to give it closure. That would have been horrendous.
>If it’s a quick ending the author creates for the sake of having an ending, it doesn’t seem that much different from just a fan continuation.
Typically fan continuations are aversive to that kind of ending. What fan continuation wants to end the series aruptly or quickly?
>Typically fan continuations are aversive to that kind of ending. What fan continuation wants to end the series aruptly or quickly?
They wouldn't, fans know better. What I more meant is that I think the canonicity should be considered comparable. The ideal ending is of course the original creator continuing it the way they planned, but an ending forced by external circumstances (budget constraints, managerial meddling, life changes) is basically no different from fanfiction - other than likely being worse.
Like I said, I'm not giving up or anything, but I don't understand why someone would want one a rushed "just to give it closure/because it was mandated" ending from the original creator over regular fanfiction.
>I'd have been fired and starved to death if I took as much time off from my job as you do.
You should try doing webcomics! You'll either be very productive or very satisfied with the flexibility.
You're really fricking smug for a borderline con-artist.
The "con" in "con-artist" stands for "confidence," anon.
I'd have been fired and starved to death if I took as much time off from my job as you do.
>job
Nedroid. Guess at one point you get stuck and never visit out of shame you cant get any new ideas.
I found out that he did a few new ones in twitter since then (yeah, it came as a shock to me too)
By the way, it's not that he didn't have any ideas exactly, he is working as an artist to other comics... that are nowhere near as good, I have no idea why.
Doesn't he also work for Pixar now, or was that just a short stint.
What if the artists do it on purpose? What if they are all laughing at us for missing their comics?
> Webcomic has been active since a decade ago (even longer)
> At some point the artist mentions she needs to change the format because she doesn't have enough time and because she wants to improve her writing skills
> says it's temporary
> by then, the comic has been devolved into a children's book (single page and one drawing beside the paragraphs), keeping aside what made the webcomic great in the first place.
All I'm saying is she could've kept the old format and update the comic monthly. Now it feels like it's in a limbo, and I can't tell if she's going to drop it sooner or later.
Cucumber Quest?
Could be worse.
>oh hey I have a great thing going my fans really enjoy
>say, what if I just totally frick it up... that'll work!
The mind boggles.
QRD?
As far as I remember it was first a standard webcomic about the dude and Gogo. It finally developed into a romance and then... it was rebooted into some kind of shitty origins story that no one cared about or asked for.
>decent romantic gag strip about a muscular brown girl runs for a decade
>Cinemaphile loves it
>author reboots it into a serious ongoing sci-fi plot
>art style and format also change
>Cinemaphile hates it
>threads slowly die off
>author also looses interest with his own project and looses self in the 2016 twitterscape
>shortly after he embraces his secret body horror fetish
>makes a ton of money on patreon under an alias
>gogo bomango fades into obscurity
after he embraces his secret body horror fetish
a ton of money on patreon under an alias
He's not even making money off of patreon. He shut down both. Probably only does commissions.
You are very likely not interested anon;
Unless you like morbid obesity and, just to be clear, I mean obesity and not just chuby or even fat, or even very fat, not even fricking inflation like Dobson, which is weird too, but not even that. We are talking body horror level for real
You mean fat fetish shit thats like the Tetsuo flesh blobs?
Yes, I mean that basically. He also has a weird obsession with fat veganas, as in rolls of fat that have a vegana in the middle, and cellulitis.
Shit Satan, if you say so... I had no idea honestly.
NTA, but now that you mention the fat vegana's I think I've seen his stuff before. Truly horrifying.
>romantic
it was pure /shota/ and they consumated their relationship in the end
>artist stops updating his comic to focus on family life
>family life crashes and burns in a divorce that makes artist go broke
>artist comes back to the comic in a desperate need for cash
>has to draw porn for it
>terrible porn, even
>eventually has enough and fricks off, leaving some paid customers with neither cash nor what they paid for
>apperantly the artist got blackmailed with a naked video of them
>artist was(is?) very suicidal after that
This is your reminder that things can always get worse
>ronnie gets blackmailed with nude video
>people pay it to NOT SEE IT
That could be a nice comic tbh.
VG cats?
Yep. Still fricking shocked at how bad Scott's situation got.
Had no idea that's why he started drawing that weird porn. I figured he did it for fun.
Did he really have to draw some awful porn? I think he would had some success if he just admitted that he is struggling, started regular posting again and shilled his patreon. Have seen that working for some artists/creators, they got lots of pity subs just by saying "it's been going really rough now".
Seeing artists begging for pity is genuinely worse than them resorting to porn.
Jesus. Poor bastard.
How the frick do you officially end a non-sequential web comic where every issue is just a random gag? It's like "officially ending" Homestar Runner or Marmaduke.
Make a joke about ending a webcomic.
OUGH GUSTINE
I almost recommended this to a friend and then everything went sideways and we just don't talk about it here any more
Kaze straight up said that prequel isnt getting finished, At least it didnt go the poppy opossum way which I also liked back in the day
Prequel is still good though even if most of it is 7+ years old
Where?
He said it here months ago that there is no planned ending or anything, the ending of prequel is kaze getting gored by a car while trying to buy food or something like that.
what ever happened to steve lichman.
Last thing I heard was that he was a mercenary for the SNC.
>artist is genuinely autistic
something something stone age
You are thinking about another comic and author anon.
Could be worse. Could end like longbungholes confinement series.
Wasn't there literally a webcomic artist that pulled off a murder suicide just a while ago?
Dobson finally did it?
Hasn't this been happening to that webtoon Lumine?
It's specialy dissapointing with prequel after he acted all high and mighty shitting on others comics
Whomp was good prequel was not
Poppy O'Possum the comic might be dead and unceremoniously pozzed then killed, but she'll stay alive forever in my mind as my waifu.
Frick you Morbi you lazy c**t
