No, he tried to come back during muh orange man period. His new show tanked hard. Even Letterwang was on it. Just old rich free masons getting pissy about another old rich free mason breaking ranks.
The reason DL is out is because he couldn't square away all the deals required to stop him getting MeTooed in 5 seconds flat if he did. He's been fricking dumb Hollywood bimbos since the 70s. Too many old prostitutes with gross plastic faces whose only hope of ever getting even a minor sniff the spotlight again is via a MeToo tale on an "old white male" like that.
The smartest thing either guy did was gtfo two seconds before the culture war shit started. This way most of their skeletons remain under lock and key.
Not getting the Carson spot broke him mentally and he still hasn't recovered.
Conan goes below Leno for being a sperg about wanting Leno's job then bombing at it and now for begging for scraps on podcasts while Leno just fricks around lighting himself on fire in his garage like a chad.
Jimmie Walker had her as an agent and said of the movie that Helen was ten times worse in real life and the movie was a glowing rendition of her. I can't even imagine dealing with someone like her
>kept Norm and Warren Zevon afloat during lulls in their careers >let both peform their last performances on his show
Letterman just keeps sounding more and more based the more I hear about him
>1. Kilborn >2. Arsenio >3. Chevy >4. Magic >5. Carson (not Johnny, I'm talking last call with carson daly!)
Don't forget Dennis Miller
I thought Kilborn would do better after doing really good at The Daily Show but he just flopped. I watched him a few times and struggled to maintain attention, although I did like his continuance of 5 questions
i didnt mind his Late Late Show but it lacked the edge he had on The Daily Show, weirdly he quit both shows on his own terms and just decided to go away, i dont think he was considered a flop though he had a following at the time but its been so long now people just kinda forgot he existed
i wish his old daily show interviews were easier to come by i remember them being a lot of fun, jon stewart basically turned the daily show into CNN interviewing nothing but political shits after a while
>i wish his old daily show interviews were easier to come by
Same, I would love to see archived eps of TDS from the first few years when it was the funniest thing on tv to me
Dennis Miller Live was great and I feel like nobody remembers it, last late night comedy show i can remember that took phone calls during the interviews
Yeah and famously he's always been really uncomfortable around fame and celebrity. Which you might think makes his whole career ironic but, especially if you watch the earlier episodes, that's actually why he had an edge. The whole joke of the Letterman show is that the guest is kind-of the joke. Of course now that formula's been copied to death so now it's just standard practice and might not seem like anything now.
Still good for him. He wants the quiet life away from fame and celebrities. Good. Well deserved
Anon, for years, me too. Then one day it clicked. Eventually it came to me that:
Some of his interviews suck and he can really be a dick, but after viewing all the other recent late night hosts and then rewatching clips of letterman interviews, I conclude he really had a good thing going. He cultivated good guests, good moments, and provoked thought because he was very opinionated. He was being himself; not pretending to be funny or regurgitating the agenda / messages / politics of the broadcasting company. He could be an butthole, but he was sincere. This made the interviews feel genuine and real. In the future if you care enough, try watching some of his show again. He's not the greatest late night host of all time but I'm beginning to think he's one of them.
>said on Norm that if he didn’t make it, he’d probably drink himself to death >was noticeably more jokey before and after that statement
dudes always been a rageaholic boomer
He's doing more shit now than ever, all those 'humanitarian' interviews like in Ukraine and that paki girl, did that thing in Dublin with U2. As for his look and attitude, look into his later interviews with Richard Harris, guy is larping as him (at the time even said he was his hero for some reason, and Harris looked exactly like Letterman's new look at the end. Pic related is from Conan but Letterman did an interview with him the same week.)
Letterman was the last good talk host and if you think otherwise you're a cretinous homosexual rodent with a loose butthole. Also nice reddit spacing moron
Letterman was great. Hard working, demanding, and a comedic visionary. He was an butthole, of course, because no working class protestant is going to have his career without being a monomaniac taskmaster. The rot set in toward the end. He'd lost his artistic impetus and the culture took a nosedive after 9/11 anyway. We'll probably never see a host like him again - a bridge to the past. Even if we did, he wouldn't be given enough leeway, because there's no room for iconoclasts on TV now. Just humourless sycophants like Corden, Fallon, Kimmel. It sucks because that 90s "frick you" spirit was the last hope for American cultural revival. More people than ever talk about being "revolutionaries" but, ironically, the American public has never been tamer, except for the growing number of feral animals who are too stupid and self-serving to pose any kind of threat to the status quo. Of course, that's the thing I've already mentioned about Letterman: he was an intelligent protestant. That's the only group in human civiilisation that's really proven itself capable of mounting and sustaining an intellectually coherent challenge to monolithic power structures, and it's the demographic most rapidly disappearing from American life. The vanishing of American presbyterianism, as embodied in Letterman, is the death of America.
recluse living in Montana. >crazy
That's one of the sanest things you could do. I'd move out there but the locals probably wouldn't appreciate random homosexuals showing up.
It still blows my mind that he's NOT a israelite... I, for the life of me, always had him pinned as a israelite -- even before the Internet and having worked with israelites for over a quarter-century.
1. Conan
2. Leno
3. Carson

Fricking prime made-for-tv kino. Imagine being such a schizo producer your spergouts are considered adaptation worthy.
Jimmie Walker had her as an agent and said of the movie that Helen was ten times worse in real life and the movie was a glowing rendition of her. I can't even imagine dealing with someone like her
he really was a good friend to letterman. couldn't think of a better last stand up for his show
>kept Norm and Warren Zevon afloat during lulls in their careers
>let both peform their last performances on his show
Letterman just keeps sounding more and more based the more I hear about him
I'm a Conan guy but he fell off big after the Tonight show. His pathetic cuck shit image was funny on the show but man he's really a huge pussy
I know this is the standard Cinemaphile contrarian take but I still refuse to go along with it.
Number 3? Are you kidding me?!
1. Kilborn
2. Arsenio
3. Chevy
4. Magic
5. Carson (not Johnny, I'm talking last call with carson daly!)

90s Comedy Central and MTV are the days of TV i most long for, those were the days 🙁
Dennis Miller Live was great and I feel like nobody remembers it, last late night comedy show i can remember that took phone calls during the interviews
I remember it coming and going, it seemed to be the hottest show on tv then it's like everyone turned on him and he was off the air a year later
Conan is ourguy, Leno is a poltard
Leno used to be based in the 90s but is a gay apologizing for his old problematic jojes now:
https://ew.com/tv/jay-leno-apologizes-for-past-jokes-about-asians/
Conan is cringe, think he drank too much Haiti cool-aide
>Leno that high
>Leno being on the list at all
Go back to bed, Jay.
1. Letterman
2. Ferguson
3. Conan before Leno stole hist rightful place
Powergap
Hell
homosexuals
Everyone else.
I'd agree if not for this obnoxious fat frick dragging Conan down. Watching Norm tear into him is one of my favorite moments in television history.
where is he from?
>norm dies
>andy rushes to explain why the swedish-german joke was so hacky, insidious, and cruel
>"and he was a good friend"
Ferguson > shit > every late night hack
Conan without the fatty (Conan remotes) > Everyone else
Kimmel is pretty decent with guests
>Leno
>above shit tier
I would like to hear some more opinions from your twisted mind
He knows first hand that fame and celebrity is toxic. Good for him.
I mean it was his job to make pointless conversation with these fricks for 30 years. That would drive any man crazy.

always hated this guy

why didn't he stay in his israelite york shithole, fricking unfunny homosexual
Because he lived in New Canaan, CT, you absolute nimrod.
He took the Tedpill
he became the thing he hated most - a republican
PEOPLE CHANGE
>BUT SOME PEOPLE NEVER DO
Was just bumping some Future Islands in the gym. That performance really moved me, it's what put me on to them.
i saw these guys at some festival long time ago before i knew anything about them. it was great.
The lyric is
>SEASONS CHANGE
he was always a soulless creep who raped interns
>said on Norm that if he didn’t make it, he’d probably drink himself to death

what is he supposed to do? he was the talk show guy - that’s it. he’s not an actor or an artist.

Letterman was the last good talk host and if you think otherwise you're a cretinous homosexual rodent with a loose butthole. Also nice reddit spacing moron
What? The show was horrendous for years before it finally ended. Craig Ferguson and Conan were both good
Larry sanders did it
the billionaires and elite are all moving to remote locations. they know its happening soon...
Yah. Baby boomers are dying off. Those that can afford it are doing so in privacy.
Letterman is pretentious
he knows whats coming.
he retired to his childrape farm
i’d say he went sane
>be rich libgay
>doesnt live around Black folk
Sounds about right
Montana's beautiful; it would be a great place to retire.
all retired wealthy people live in montana
Carson>Letterman>Ferguson>Leno>Conan>>>>>>>>>>>>>a steaming pile of dogshit>>>>>>>>>>>
single castred beta eunuch in "late night" working today
Larry Sanders is the only talk show host worth a damn
watched his Talk show with Shahrukh Khan
Truly a great episode
It really showed how small Hollywood celebs are in comparison to Bollywood Celebs.

Says alot when you spend decades interviewing soulless Hollyisraelite homosexuals before finally fricking off to die in Montana.
recluse living in Montana.
>crazy
That's one of the sanest things you could do. I'd move out there but the locals probably wouldn't appreciate random homosexuals showing up.
man, baggy clothes used to be so cool but looking back now it looks incredibly ridiculous
If I had enough money to do nothing I'd do the same.
Nah Peter, two chicks at the same time!
