>A pandering reboot of one of their old shows isn't what CN needs
No but a revival of one of their old shows that fans actually want to see certainly is.
Would it be a bad idea for CN to fund the pilots of these shows so they could either chose to air them or show them online to see how much people like them?
Interesting tidbit about this show when Dilworth was asked about it a while back >"However, in May 2020, when asked about the project, Dilworth responded that it had been "transformed into another thing"
I think the "another thing" was the Courage and Scooby Doo crossover film that got released in 2021. Unless there's something else that hasn't seen the light of day.
It's a shame that any attempts at Courage coming back don't get off the ground but maybe it's for the best.
>these days kids prefer to watch youtube crap like skidibi toilet or digital circus
I think you mean toddlers. Most kids (pre-teen to teenaged) actually tend to enjoy older series, mainly cartoons from the 90s-2000s. It can range from old cartoon network shows, to random flash series no one gave two shits about for decades until it trended on tiktok (ex: emily youcis animations)
Teen girls really love invader zim, south park, salad fingers and alfred's playhouse in particular
If they did a livestream release on their official youtube alongside airing it that would be good I think.
Kids still like classic cartoons like tom and jerry as well as stuff from the 90's and early to mid 2000's, it's not like they aren't interested, there is just no good way to access them unless their parent has a streaming service that has them
. >it's not like they aren't interested, there is just no good way to access them unless their parent has a streaming service that has them
And that goes for everyone, not just children.

CN's never going to release an official soundtrack to Courage in a million years, so it's more likely that someone would pester the composers via email to fork over the RAW tracks. It worked for the Sonic fandom when some random guy convinced the composer of the OVA's soundtrack to release everything unofficially
Dilworth said he tried to get CN to release the soundtrack multiple times but they always refused since "it was too expensive and there's no market for it"
>Courage The Cowardly Dog movie (was considered, but never made) >Courage Halloween and Christmas Specials >Fog of Courage series >Before Courage
All scrapped Couarge content
All I can find is people mentioning this factoid in Cinemaphile posts on the archive.
As for the offer to play FNAF for 500 $. It is real. Here's the tumblr post: https://spacemandilly.tumblr.com/post/103823475899/john-r-dilworth-five-nights-at-freddys
Can't seem to find any evidence of him playing it online though, so either it was never archived since this post is from 2014 or he really did ghost some people after taking the money.
I dont even think dilly was friends with any of cn's cartoon showrunners back in the late 90s-early aughts. He's always been an eccentric freelancer, him and his crew of artists just got really lucky with courage
i wouldnt say it was completely luck. dilworth worked on doug and got some contacts with viacom that got his foot in the door and eventually got shorts airing on MTV and Nick
he also got some small bumpers animated for the young CN. all this combined gave him enough clout to be invited to participate in what a cartoon.
both CN and nick were way more willing to work with small independent studios back then
What I meant by luck is him and his crew got to produce 50 something episodes of courage. I know he did a lot of work for cartoons prior to courage, and I'm sure he made his animation connections through the underground cartooning community, just like danny antonucci did. Festivals like spike and mike really brought a lot of young talent together back in those days
antonucci cut his teeth working at hanna-barbera in the early 80s, so he already had connections there prior to pitching ed, edd, n eddy
in fact him, john k, and david feiss worked on the smurfs together

Lazzo was in charge of CN in 1999 and he's the reason courage got greenlit, same reason why all the weird stuff on AS got greenlit. Lazzo saw potential in a lot of stuff other executives did not and he always gave stuff a chance as long as its low budget. After he got on adult swim CN became a lot less experimental in its shows and bumpers, a similar thing happened to adult swim proper recently.
He tried to pitch a show similar to Courage (horror comedy) but with a Teenage girl as the lead instead and no Network picked it up, you can find the pilot on his youtube channel
this one?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejWaVNJSdXo
It's cute but doesn't feel that intresting to me, the teenage girl MC and other characters are a bit boring, in terms of personality and design. Great voice acting and expressions in the pitch though, and the ryona potential of this series could've been great
Pretty solid. Not really a fan of a prequel idea for courage (or him using a modern looking computer), but courages parents are pretty fun characters and the general vibe/ art, and story feel just like the old show. Good stuff
>What did the Mike Lu and Og guys do after?
Mikhail Aldashin went back to Russia to do more indie animations after realizing what a shit show working for Hollywood is.
And earned a lot more awards for his indie animations than on ML&O
It's like watching an storyboard for an unreleased Courage episode, it's so cool that that he can draw the characters so consistently with the same art style decades later, some artists and cartoonists can't quite nail after so much time has passed
courage mom huh?
For me, it's this crazy c**t. I would violently makeout with her butt
would this get him blacklisted at CN studios?
CNS is just a label for Warner Bros. You’re talking about the network itself in Atlanta
Does it matter?
it kinda does, we may never get more courage media.anos n
Why would it?
A pandering reboot of one of their old shows isn't what CN needs
I dont care frick you i like dilworth's art style i wanna see it on tv again instead of some selective underground film fest in la
> A pandering reboot of one of their old shows isn't what CN needs
We don't need another Adventure Time but we got one
>A pandering reboot of one of their old shows isn't what CN needs
No but a revival of one of their old shows that fans actually want to see certainly is.
>nooooo giving your audience what they want is bad because it's PANDERING!
okay moron
Nah
CN is evil
Why is CN so against having good shows on their channel?
as of now, they don't really have any upcoming shows except for invincible fight girl (whatever that is)
Why not pick up Galactic Kids Next Door and have it premiere on Max and air next day on Cartoon Network?
All of the creators are with Disney TVA anon
Oh no! A dying network is going to be mad!
Would it be a bad idea for CN to fund the pilots of these shows so they could either chose to air them or show them online to see how much people like them?

I will never forgive them for that.
That crossover special could have been better.
He took 0 parts in this and he said he was suprised it happened.
I would personaly LOVE bis comentary on it!
CN is just a dogshit company to expect any good marketing out of. Nick and Comedy Central do a much finer job.
This looked very cute. I honestly think it would have worked better as a special rather than a new series.
Not sure if 2020's kids would have liked it tho, these days kids prefer to watch youtube crap like skidibi toilet or digital circus.

Exactly, many pre-teen to teenaged kids love cartoons from the 90s-2000s. Particularly the ones from mid 90s and early 2000s.
>>If they did a live stream release on their official youtube alongside airing it that would be good I think.
That would be a stroke of genius.
>>it's not like they aren't interested, there is just no good way to access them unless their parent has a streaming service that has them
Exactly, well maybe if psychical media makes a comeback like vinyls did.
btw here is some recent Courage fanart I just uploaded last week.
Comfy
nice work anon
Nice, good background.
Courage deserve better tbh.
I wish we had the OSTs for Courage, the soundtrack was amazing.
CN's never going to release an official soundtrack to Courage in a million years, so it's more likely that someone would pester the composers via email to fork over the RAW tracks. It worked for the Sonic fandom when some random guy convinced the composer of the OVA's soundtrack to release everything unofficially
That would be fantastic but I won't hold my breath.
Dilworth said he tried to get CN to release the soundtrack multiple times but they always refused since "it was too expensive and there's no market for it"
How is it too expensive to plop it on itunes
No market my ass. There's clearly a market, they are just too cowardly to admit it.
What else do you even need?
IT'S DOC GERBIL'S WORLD
no, stop, nooo!!!!!!
the things i do for love
The pilot has barely been out for 10 hours. You guys work quick.
Shut up.
I fricking love this board
>Courage The Cowardly Dog movie (was considered, but never made)
>Courage Halloween and Christmas Specials
>Fog of Courage series

HALLOWEEN AND CHRISTMAS SPECIALS!? 🙁
A-At least we got the Scooby crossover
that's it, im getting me mallet!
>courge goes truffle hunting
good advice from mama courage not to eat the red mushrooms
Courage looks so cute there. I don't think I would have been able to see such cute thing being abused being monsters in every episode 🙁
Desensitize yourself with some jap toons, like made in abyss, or narutaru
How does Dilworth even make a living these days?
Royalties checks from making Courage?
Freelance
Well, he did scam a fan once by getting payed 500 dollars to do a FNAF let's play and ran away with the money.
Bullshit
source on that?
All I can find is people mentioning this factoid in Cinemaphile posts on the archive.

Nvm, I found this post and this video.
Yep he ran with the money and he didn't even pay the employee that ran his blog lmao
is he israeli?
Yes. He mentions having a Bar Mitzvah in this short which is party autobiographical.
pattern recognition
what did he mean by this?
behind the scenes rape?
hippo hop! woohoo, jyeah babey!
>the comments posted in the video a year after the video posted
>he ran with the money
You sure he didn't just play the game without streaming it?
>getting an out of touch boomer to stream a videogame.
what did you expect to happen?
Was it that Kevin Piastra homosexual just making shit up and also tried to slander Dil for clout?
He teaches at SVA, or at least was for a long time.
frick is that?
School of Visual Arts, probably the second biggest school for animation in the US.
>the US
the frick is that?
Does he even own the IP?
I don't think so? CN made the whole Courage/Scooby Doo crossover movie without needing to involve him at all. I could be wrong though.
Why would Dilly play fnaf? Pay the man to draw
dilly isnt tight with any of the calarts cliques, he's never getting back in to CN
I dont even think dilly was friends with any of cn's cartoon showrunners back in the late 90s-early aughts. He's always been an eccentric freelancer, him and his crew of artists just got really lucky with courage

errrmm, sweaty, he cancelled my christian tiktok recommended traumadump show, FRICK lazzo
He’s a NY residence. A lot of his animation was done out of CN Studios.
>Courage Barks
It works!
Really wish Dilworth got to make another cartoon, his cute yet horrific style is so great
He tried to pitch a show similar to Courage (horror comedy) but with a Teenage girl as the lead instead and no Network picked it up, you can find the pilot on his youtube channel

Why do most of dilly's human characters look like garlic boy/phineas and ferb designs?
damn
he knows what he's doing
I'd frick the shit out of that dog
Courage mom is great!
Pretty solid. Not really a fan of a prequel idea for courage (or him using a modern looking computer), but courages parents are pretty fun characters and the general vibe/ art, and story feel just like the old show. Good stuff
CN/Max should greenlight it as competition for Bluey.
I'm surprised no executive has considered that.
it's kinda meh
its not a finished product hambone
Courage season 4 is surprisingly high quality. Did anyone else feel this way? Season 1 will always be best though
If the courage prequel was allowed to exist, would we see more lesbian cats and bunnies?
This thread is so dead, no one will know I want to frick courage THE dog
if CN doesnt want it pitch it to adult swim
Is Dilworth the biggest loser of old CN guards? He did nothing of note after Courage ended.
What did the Mike Lu and Og guys do after?
The biggest winner is the guy behind Sheep in the Big City. Dude is a multi millionaire now
>What did the Mike Lu and Og guys do after?
Mikhail Aldashin went back to Russia to do more indie animations after realizing what a shit show working for Hollywood is.

Genndy and McCracken still get to make shows, but they suck ass.
omoshiroi
What does japanese pee porn have to do with courage?
nice

Would have been awesome to see.
When's the live-action courage movie?
How many of these characters were in previous courage episodes? Just courage and his mom?
the lint lady
Damn son
>parents call him "Courage"
>the final episode revealed Muriel gave him that name.
AWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOO
