makes as much sense as fallout 3
Fallout is cursed to forever be written by morons.
Bethesda games are generally awful, and so is F3. But they do follow the Fallout design documents, so the foundation is accurate. They just execute it in a REALLY shitty manner, as New Vegas proved.
Bethesda didn't understand Fallout's design at all.
Omg. I'm so glad I didn't play this game only only tried new vegas
The central plot in 3, 4 and the TV show make absolutely no sense. They're still worth playing.
Fallout 3 story is so moronic then they one upped themselves with Fallout 4. This is why Todd hates Vegas
>arguing morality and doing what's right to a computer
At least have you beat it with a logical paradox. Yeah, it's trite but it's funny and makes sense for both a science and speech check.
There is nothing wrong with this. The point isn't that the dialogue has to be well written, it is that the other characters are swayed by your speech. Did you expect Bethesda to hire a once-in-a-lifetime genius savant to do the writing for this game?
[Speech 99] There is something wrong with it. It's meaningless emotive writing that wouldn't persuade a computer.
Yet somehow new vegas and 1 did it with different writers.
>just go east bro
Meme on it all you want, at least there was some actual reasoning behind it. The encalve computer dialogue is literally just "have a nice day because you are bad actually", and the computer just buys this without needing any kind of argument or logic.
>it is that the other characters are swayed by your speech
But why the frick would they be?
Because you have a preternatural ability. Just accept that a high level can win conversations. No need to complicate it.
Fallout has always had bad writing ever since they decided to go with le random pop culture references, the intelligent deathclaws and retcon bullshit in Fallout 2.
>obligatory speak down the villain check because Fallout 1 did it
It's so stupid this became a series-defining trope. Even in Fallout, where it was done well, it was kinda stretching the limits of believability.
>series-defining trope
Time for talking's over.
Lanius went back and forth with you at least, and had your skills tested to the maximum.
Fallout 3 is the closest we've gotten to recreating the feel of Fallout 1 ever.

Don't care, he's a fun character and Kyle MacLachlan knocked it out of the park
>Muh heckin funny and zaney fallout TV show is kino just because. It's good because muh heckin public opinion and metacritic score said so! You wouldn't want to be in the heckin minority opinion would you chuds!?
Go back to plebbit and lick Bethesda and Hellywoods taint there would you?
I thought the real reason was because he got cucked by a carpet muncher
Except he did it after he got cucked, way after.
How much of that is actually true? The bottom seems especially sus, but you can never know with this shitshow.
Yeah the ending was moronic and my estimation of Kyle MacLachlan plummeted a little for agreeing to do this shit
he's literally never been in anything good
Lynched pleb
YO YT BOI
>destroys it because it’s not vault tec, even though it is
yeah, vault tec wanted to be in control but something went wrong and there was no one to .. manage things the way they wanted, and the vault that was left to their own devices grew already too large to control
still a very short sighted strategy for vault tec.. they aren't the only player with nukes around
don't care, not watching Amazon goyslop
they still hate the source material and fans even if it's "good" (doubtful)
He's right
seethe
>they still hate the source material
You mean the source material created by a flaming homosexual man?
How exactly do you decide which goyslop to consume? Are a homosexual so you choose to consume the gayslop? Sounds like you should just stfu and watch the show it was literally made for you.
he's doing a bad karma run, just nuke the morons you don't like
It would be good if this is one big fake out and Kyle got blamed for some shit or he’s actually fighting the enclave
>fighting the enclave
Why would you do that? The Enclave is good. It's why I never get far in FO3, heard they force you against the Enclave the only faction I want to be involved with
So our MC just shoots her mother in the head without saying goodbye or anything?
>Villain is: "We have the enclave at home."
Why are they so lazy?
>Written by Todd, Emil, that Westworld guy and that marvel chick
It never stood a chance.
maybe it was a reference to Megaton in fo3?
did Todd do it again?
>Destroyed a city that was saved by a vault dweller known just as the "vault dweller" from radscorpions and raiders when the city was just a villiage, who also saved everyone in the wasteland from all becoming super mutants, and as thanks, shady sand erected a statue of him
Nobody cares about fallout 1 and 2 other than contrarian incels and autistic "people"
If it weren't for fallout 1 and 2 you'd have no ip to leech off of, you fricking parasitic israelite. Show some respect
"no"
Also known as people that have the capacity to sincerely care about literally anything.
Vault-Tec isn't in charge of the post-war plan in the show, the Enclave is.
The Enclave decides to drop the nuke. Vault-Tec is just their front. The Enclave also is the racist pure-human supremacist organization in the games, which explains Vault-Tec's actions and plans in the show, as they act on orders from the Enclave.
Obviously, S2, 3, 4, etc. will be about the Enclave.
Vault-Tec is just one of the main corporations around that roundtable with ideas, but the only backed by the Enclave.
Mr. House was introduced directly because he'll obviously be in S2 as the end of S1 shows. The fact McLachlan's character wants to go to him suggests House also is in on it to some extent.
we saw Mr. House? when?
at the meeting with all the ceos?
House is the founder of RobCo.
>Obviously, S2, 3, 4, etc. will be about the Enclave.
Frick why doez bethezda keep wanting to do the enclave again
Admittedly, Enclave is the point of Fallout, as Fallout 2 demonstrates. While Fallout 1 deals with The Master, the FEV virus etc. is Enclave's doing.
The story basically revolves around a US Government psycho faction starting WW3, and wanting to dominate the world in the aftermath. The ending of the whole story is that they either succeed or fail. Everything else is worldbuilding.
>starting WW3
Sorry, you didn't watch the show.
It was canonically Vault Tec now who did that.
>It was canonically Vault Tec now who did that.
that hasn't been confirmed
You seem to have problems reading.
>It was Vault-Tec.
sorry you don't have the mental fortitude to grasp what you're watching. Vault-Tec had a plan, it was never stated if they went through with it and the evidence doesn't point to it. Why was Coopers daughter with him when the bombs fell when his Vault-Tec wife was the mastermind? She just decided to risk her daughter? And since NV is canon, why wasn't House more prepared for the nukes if he was in on it? He didn't get the platinum chip in time.
Thats fricking stupid. Just because they vaguely started things doesnt mean they have to be the consistent villain. Its weak cowardly writing frick off back to ledit.
and yet, the best game in the franchise minimized both the BoS and the Enclave to optional side quests
Yeah the POINT of Fallout is watching people post-collapse live out an existing directly governed by the past. They're stuck living in a bombed out shithole with warped ideologies that are effectively parroting or are a result of pre-war American philosophy, and are doomed because they can't get over the past. The Enclave were the embodiment of that old world, and their destruction in 2 seems to imply things would get better but as we see in New Vegas, war never changes. Or rather, the ideologies that push war never change. The NCR became pre-war America, and in order to stop it Caesar decided the only logical route was to make a fascist state consisting of rapist-murders.
But the franchise doesn't revolve around them
Because they're hacks who rely on a formula. Anything fallout related must
>have vault opening
>brotherhood of steel
>power armor
>enclave
>deathclaws
>raiders
>whacky food items
Fallout 4 amazingly had no enclave, but for all intents and purposes the institute is the same exact shitty writing.
this show feels like fallout 4
no its enclave
enclave have high iq
they always come back they are 2000 iq geniuses
Thats what bugs me most. if bethesda had to use their version of fallout do it somewhere else don't shit all over new vegas and 2. You just know emil and todd did it on purpose from all the hate they got from vegas gays.
Todd has a hard-on for enclave t avellone
I haven't played the fallout games in forever I thought the Enclave was basically destroyed and in the show they seem to have alot of tech and it seems that they have some manpower how did they come back?
because of shit writing and creative bankruptcy of FO3
Only the Poseidon tanker is destroyed in F2, but they're obviously mainly on the East coast as F3 showcases. Their "main" base of operations is in another place though, which I hope the story eventually deals with.
>blown up twice
>achually theyre still all over and an actual threat
Frick off emil.
Since you're the experts, what was blown up in F2 and F3?
Who is the president again? Are there two presidents? Did you guys actually play the games?
It's the point of the show, so I'm not gonna say it here, but if you pay attention in Fallout 2, you know where the main base is and what the story is ACTUALLY about.
there are three presidents actually
vault tec leader is enclave president
>Who is the president again?
That guy in the show with two sheriffs in pristine pre-war police clothing that break suspension of disbelief.
What the frick are you rambling about, moron? Holy shit they send some low effort redditors to shill this show now.
F off
the show is so good
if my friend who hates the fallout games likes it then i think its a good show
you gamers just need to accept that fallout is not for you guys anymore
Shut up shill. Did you finally figure out no one else is reddit spacing?
Dick Richardson, he dies in 2.
Really?
What's his name?
What about this?
That doesn't seem to be correct.
>but they're obviously mainly on the East coast
which makes no sense since the oil rig housed the fricking president
>Their "main" base of operations is in another place
Their main base of operations was unequivocally Oil Rig. This is where the President was, where they planned to sit out their purge, where they manufactured modified FEV and did their R&D...
It's the White House of the Enclave, if you blew up the White House the state wouldn't cease to exist. It's not Age of Empires.
Didn't know they do advanced weapons research in the White House.
You are a fricking moron
It is kind of silly to assume they had more bases elsewhere when their main plan in Fallout 2 was "KILL EVERYBODY". At best you can assume they are nominally independent remnants of the US government, though I don't know why you would even call them the Enclave at that point.
Nope, you didn't pay attention well enough in F2. Also didn't seem to play F3 either.
>Also didn't seem to play F3 either.
Why would I?
Well, not to be too specific about it, but the answer is contained in 3 side-locations of the game. You piece them and F2 together, and you've got your answer.
I don't care about FO3 canon.
Holy shit, you truly are a redditor.
Bethesda changed the Enclave from just the oil rig, essentially, to a decentralized body of scattered outposts in contact with one another.
I suppose that makes sense logically, IRL there's a bunch of government black sites and contingency facilities scattered across the US. But it certainly is a retcon.
Sure but from what we see the enclave would be beyond crippledby this point still. Scattered black sites isn't the same as state of the art military facilities designed for centralization
They are certainly less than what they were, but beyond crippled? When the rest of America and/or anything not depicted is supposed to be assumed to be Mad Max style wasteland?
Even just a shitty but advanced outpost could be a force and power in the region, to say nothing of some contingency facility.
>get blown up by a teenager
>twice
>one minor outpost would actually be a regional power
lmao. Both games show the enclave as a small elite force low on manpower reliant on genociding everything to actually project their power.
>lmao. Both games show the enclave as a small elite force low on manpower reliant on genociding everything to actually project their power.
They are a large elite force
Enclave is the strongest organization in fallout
Fallout 3 Fallout 2 show that
No they didnt. You didnt play 3 or 2 obviously. Quit justifying retconns with your own special head canon.
>strongest organization
>gets blown up by a single tribal
if the tribal never existed the enclave will win
not head canon
fallout 5 will have the return of the enclave
Of course it will because bethesda are hacks unable of creating anything new and must beat a dead horse. Why do you say that like its something good or reasonable? It's retconning pure and simple
It is REALLY funny that you would choose to use this image for this discussion. Well done.
because the enclave are excellent villains
I refuse to believe you are real people with opinions and not paid shills gaslighting.
all you ''hardcore'' fans do is accuse anyone who express a different opinion than yourselves to be a shill
wouldn't that make you the crazy one?
look into nazi germany history america history etc look at fallout 1 villain too
No I refuse to believe youre this boisterously ignorant and egotistical. You must be paid to do it. You're telling me youre this fricking dumb and spouting off stupid shit for free?
>pure human supremacist
>kill vault dwellers for the lolz
Bravo
Ah yes Vault " "! The vault where they " ".
I liked the part where they " ".
>>kill vault dwellers for the lolz
Proof?
see
Fallout 1 didnt need enclave you homosexual nor did new vegas Shut up.
fallout 1 was the prototype
fallout 2 fallout 3 is the real fallout
new vegas is a spinoff
a side quest compared to the main quest of fallout 3 fallout 4
the enclave are the sith of fallout in a sense
they are a staple
if the game developer listen to ''hardcore'' fans the series will never progress
>fallout 3 is the real fallout
lmao shut up you homosexual. You must be baiting now or actually paid by amazon.
>the enclave are the sith of fallout in a sense
Not really, no. Though like the Sith they should frick off already.
>if the game developer listen to ''hardcore'' fans the series will never progress
How is constantly bringing back the Enclave progress? New Vegas basically featured them as a tiny remnant of a long ago wiped out faction, that was progress.
>the enclave are the sith of fallout in a sense
Now I know you're baiting
not really if you think im baiting then you have a small
not really
if you think im baiting then you have a small brain
lmao. The audacity to make such an ass of yourself and prove you have no grasp of fallout and to say this.
>plot armor, the plot armor
What a shame the Enclave didn't invest in the greatest super weapon of all; the script
And when you're surrounded by walk-the-wasteland fricks like raiders in old sports equipment, yeah it's not hard.
Too bad fallout 4 retconned it where random raiders are capable of using fat mans and power armor with ease. Now any walk the wasteland fricks can do whatever they want.
In game that doesn't amount to anything, they don't have anything to show for their armaments and some loser MC with a pistol can take them out with proper effort or planning
They have to show the entire commonwealth is ruled by raider tribes not local governments. If the PC didnt come in 4 it'd still be a string of raider alliances shooting down BoS vertibirds.
The Gunners aren't raiders and they're the closest thing to a dominant force in the Commonwealth, more than any raiders. Plus they may even be vault-descended
Though not that it really matters, since it's a plot point of 4 that the Commonwealth is intentionally kept in a chaotic anarchy/undeveloped state by the Institute
Same thing with Talon company. Bethesda doesn't even give enough of a frick to give us leads on who COULD be funding these random ass mercs in what could only be described as an early city-state perior in both 3 and 4.
Theres nothing implying the gunners are from vaults more homosexualy ass head canon from you.
And Im talking the random raiders all over the commonwealth. As well there's nothing implying the institute planned any of that besides releasing super mutants which was more of bethesda being unable to invent something new and shoving in old stuff people know.
Didn't even make it past your first sentence you dumb fricking lorelet secondary
NTA, but vault 75 was vacated by it's original inhabitants and subsequently taken over by gunners. There's really nothing that would connect the two, Bethesda just needed enemies to populate the area.
Not talking about 75
Which one do you think the gunners originated from then?
>Theres nothing implying the gunners are from vaults more
nta but the survivors on the West Coast that aren't Chinese come from Vault 15 and Vault City.
Not the gun runners the "gunners" from fallout 4. Really fricking amazing unique naming EMIL
>Not interested in talking seriously about a game with mutants and ghouls
Between Emil and Stinky Pete, what a nightmare it must be trying to work and take things seriously at Bethesda, suppose Todd is the only thing holding everything together at this point
You didn't play the game, there's constant historical meddling by the Institute to sabotage Commonwealth efforts to unify or otherwise establish some sort of faction or stabilize
I did and outside of having a competent mayor and dumping super mutants into the wastes for, reasons, theres really no justification for saying they purposefully keep the wasteland a mess. I just did an institute playthrough. It's barebones s frick to any justifications. They just do shit because they can. It's Saturday morning cartoon villain writing.
>ok we murdered this father of two so we could have him grow tomatoes for us and replace him with a machine
Never explains what the frick this would accomplish
>Meeting between various Commonwealth factions to consider forming some sort of unified body
>Institute sends a synth that slaughters everyone
>"Institute are good boys who aren't destabilizing things!"
lol
lmao
Lemme guess, you believed the "malfunctioning accident" lie fed to you
The 'east coast' raven rock / Adams AFB enclave is literally the same one as the oil rig / camp navarro one.
After the events of 2, Autumn Senior (Colonel Autumn's dad) received a message from Eden and they went all the way to DC.
I have no fricking clue how they'll retcon the enclave back into existing this time. They got their oil rig blown up, then raven rock, then adams airforce base. The remnants in NV should have been the last time they're ever seen.
Neither the Oil Rig nor the Raven Rock base are the main Enclave outposts.
The real Enclave outpost is in another place. A very specific and special place.
>Neither the Oil Rig nor the Raven Rock base are the main Enclave outposts.
Weird how that's where both their presidents hung out at.
Two presidents. That doesn't strike you as odd?
Ok my bad you're just fricking moronic. Ya the position of president ends with their death. Eden took over after the first oil rig and president dies. Are you seriously this fricking stupid?
And yes there is a line in 3 about eden taking over after the enclave relocate.
So the seat of the presidency is in San Francisco, but then they "relocate" so that their main base of operations ends up on the East Coast?
Let me ask you this: where is the seat of the American government? You don't find any of this strange?
Just come out and say what your dumbass head canon is you insufferable homosexual.
I understand your frustration, but it is one of those things you have to figure out yourself. I know I am not the only one to have figured it out, but it is VERY rare to see people who know what the answer is outside of the core devs.
My best hope is to nudge you in the right direction.
Holy shit the egotistical audacity of you. You must be paid you cannot be this fricking dumb and insufferable.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but it is what it is.
No, you're making up shit to justify retcons like actually they were shadow presidents and this was intended since 2. it's your shitty head canon that would fit right into the show horrible writing and world building.
The enclave is a faction of american elites, not the entire goverment you fricking nimrod
>The real Enclave outpost is in another place. A very specific and special place.
yeah, your ass
The really REAL enclave place is white sands
the REAL Enclave outpost were the friends we made along the way
>back into existing
Even before any of this, they didn't not exist. Since NV at least, possibly 3(?) they are a presence in Chicago, and 76 established (Our Little) Enclave as a strange successor entity.
Now with the show, and because of 3, it seems that Bethesda will have it where, if there's some IRL US government secret/secure facility in a place, then in game setting there was or will be an Enclave presence there.
Is Emil writing the show?
What is the point of your image and why did you circle googins?
why would that be Goggins
he's back in her office listening on the radio doohickey
>why would that be Goggins
he's back in her office listening on the radio doohickey
Because I mixed up Fallout with Indiana Jones i think.
Goggins is transsexual
God bless the Sneedclave
>big MT reference in that scene
I really really hope they explore the pre-war activities of big mountain
They were conducting experiments on innocent black women
the snippets i remember from OWB talks about how they would bribe city/town governments to get license to conduct covert experiments on entire town populations
Fallout lore is so crazy lmao, what the frick happened to US in that setting that the government funded agencies are allowed to treat US citizens as lab rats without their knowledge or consent?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuskegee_Syphilis_Study
Operation Sea-Spray
In the Senate subcommittee hearings in 1977, the Army revealed:
Between 1949 and 1969, open-air tests of biological agents were conducted 239 times. In 80 of those experiments, the Army said it used live bacteria that its researchers at the time thought were harmless. In the others, it used inert chemicals to simulate bacteria.
In the 1950s, army researchers dispersed Serratia on Panama City and Key West Florida with no known illnesses resulting.
In the 1950s, army researchers dispersed zinc cadmium sulfide (now a known cancer-causing agent) over Minnesota and other Midwestern states to see how far they would spread in the atmosphere. The particles were detected more than 1,000 miles away in New York state.
Bacillus globigii, never shown to be harmful to people, was released in San Francisco, New York, Washington, D.C., and along the Pennsylvania Turnpike, among other places.
In New York, military researchers in 1966 spread Bacillus subtilis variant Niger, also believed to be harmless, in the subway system by dropping lightbulbs filled with the bacteria onto tracks in stations in midtown Manhattan. The bacteria were carried for miles throughout the subway system. Army officials concluded in a January 1968 report that: "Similar covert attacks with a pathogenic disease-causing agent during peak traffic periods could be expected to expose large numbers of people to infection and subsequent illness or death."
In a May 1965 secret release of Bacillus globigii at Washington's National Airport and its Greyhound Lines bus terminal, more than 130 passengers were exposed to the bacteria and traveled to 39 cities in seven states in the two weeks following the mock attack.[5]
So the government has known how vulnerable we are to chemical and biological attacks for decades. What have they done about it?
we'll know in two more weeks
Oh boy
i hope nothing happens, I like not dying
>also is the racist pure-human supremacist organization in the games
>Brotherhood leader says they used to rule the wasteland

It's literally:

Is Moldaver a mutant? How has she been around for so long?
she created cryofreeze technology
I hate pre-war shit.
vault tec should be the only ones to rebuild civilisation on the surface
it's lame that vault tec is nothing more than just another Enclave
That's the sort of writing that low IQ stream piggies can get sucked into
If Moldy is to be believed, Hank claimed that was his idealogical reason for doing it, but in actuality it was the very personal reason of being butthurt about his wife choosing the NCR over him and the vault
the shadowy, all-powerful cabal trope is terrible and trite.
I really hope they don’t do that shit guys.
It's fine the first time you do it. but once that shadowy cabal is nuked twice, to keep dredging them up is just cowardly uninspired writing.
>all-powerful cabal
its not, even though the plans might be stated in the show, its clear they didn't pan out, contingencies have failed
enclave is more powerful than you expect
they are illuminati of fallout
if you kill them they come back
fallout 5 will have enclave vault tec working together to kill people
It's more powerful than you expect because of constant retconning you mouthbreather.
whats your problem
enclave is the most powerful organization in fallout Their technology surpasses steel ncr just really everyone
it only makes sense enclave come back lol
without the enclave there is no fallout
>without the enclave there is no fallout
Black folk like you are the reason Bethesda Fallout is so shitty. Frick you.
NTA but it's lazy to keep relying on the same villain. Fallout 2 did a perfectly solid job both setting up and wiping out the Enclave. No reason to go back to that well.
What happens is when a villainous antagonist is killed or wiped out in a game you make a new one or adapt the remnants into the plot of another. Like how New Vegas has a smattering of Enclave soldiers left or how the mutants in 2 and NV were making their own settlements with their chaotic, staggering tiers of mentally unwell, competent, or moron intellect citizens. They even integrated. Without The Master's plan, they found their own purposes. You can: Make. NEW. Things. It keeps your stories interesting.
well the Enclave are the best villains in fallout so i don't care if they come back 5 times i will always like the enclave as villains
bethesda has a winning formula
>bethesda has a winning formula
Can you try to act less like a shill or are you just baiting me at this point since you have nothing to say?
imagine calling everyone who has a different opinion a shill or bait
must be a sad life for you
Maybe you shouldnt act like one. I cannot imagine saying the things you do for free. THATS a sad pathetic life. IM trying to think higher of you and assume this is just a job and you arent truly this much of a mouthbreather drone.
tell me where i can sign up to be a paid shill
oh wait you cant
paid shill jobs don't exist
well they are making more money than you
https://www.semrush.com/local/blog/what-is-online-review-management/
You can get yourself one right now lmao
>well they are making more money than you
By spreading shit everywhere. By the the simple fact I don't do that on a global scale, I am more virtuous, and you, than them. Money is irrelevant you shill Black person.
>bethesda has a winning formula
Technically yeah they make money, but that doesn't mean I am going to eat giant piles of shit like everyone else.
The show is shit and you are a dumb Black person.
The idea is to reset the civilization with obedient Vault Dwellers, NCR clearly went in the other direction.
It's still incredibly disrespectful, but makes sense.
I agree.
I mean ,it made sense the first time they did that plot point in Fallout 2.
It makes no fricking sense. After all this time they didnt bother infultrating the entirely corrupt NCR? Just nuke it and all its resources cuz? NCR morons controlled by remnant enclave should have been the direction. Even something that dumb and uninspired is better than this tripe
Jesus Christ, Emil, please have a nice day for the good of the universe.
From Vault-tec's own claimed perspective in the show, that's not the point. They themselves said they wanted to invite the various corporations and economic magnates, and encourage a capitalist spirit of competition, may the best (experimental) vault society win sort of philosophy.
Of course they could be lying if the plot decides to go that way, but there was an entire scene dedicated to them showing and explaining this. Hank nuking the NCR is against that corporate initiative.
>even though it is
But it's not. It's not under Vault Tec control.
>They made it, populated it with people of their choice, decided exactly when it would open and why and gave them a Garden of Eden Creation Kit, but they don't control it!
"They" who? Bud's rotten brain on an RC car in vault 31? Trying to give Vault-Tec a grand cohesive vision is nonsensical and the absolute last thing the show should have tried to do.
>"They" who?
T.H.E
E.N.C.L.A.V.E
>The Enclave is making vault dwellers blow up vault dwellers rebuilding civilization so they can be the vault dwellers to rebuild civilization
What a plan. There's also no correlation with vaults and the enclave and never has been.
There's no master plan you can write that will ever make sense.
The Enclave are blowing up Vault Dwellers who no longer Dwell in Vaults and thus are no longer under control of the plan.
>Be Vault 15
>Goal: leave vault and make civilization
>leave vault and make civilization
>??????
>No longer doing goal as set by Vault-Tec
You are a fricking moron.
No vault dwellers are ever under the control of any grand plan. They're the still functional appendages of a long-dead system that didn't think that far ahead.
That's always part of the inherent dark humour of the series.
Why did they have most vaults to open decades or centuries before "the plan" was complete? Were they just experiments in preparation for vault 32 and 33 to repopulate all of America? Surely the remaining indoctrinated vault-dwellers are vastly out-numbered by the loyal Enclave bases apparently spread all across America?
>the original plan of the Enclave wanting to colonize another planet after the destruction of the world and the Vaults being experiments for a long term colony ship is never going to happen
was that the Van Buren plot?
It's the original plot from the Fallout Bible. To be honest, it was already ditched by the time of Fallout 2 with Tim Cain leaving the series.
After what I heard about the Frontier it may be for the best.
I'm still baffled they went with the interplay movie script. Several things we know about match.
>pre-war scenes
Not a thing prior to 4, the movie was at least mainly set in prewar times
>vault tec started the war
morons will say this one wasn't stated outright therefore there's 'ambiguity'
Why were there no super mutants or deathclaws?
Unlike 3 or 4, there was an actual reason for them to be there.
Thats what really boggled my mind. I kept expecting both to show up. For once bethshita held their hand in the TWO THINGs that would be justified in showing up. Too much money and time to actually design and add them obviously.
Budget imo. CGI super mutants are going to look like shit and they'd probably like to avoid that.
The fact they didn't just put in every single recognizable creature, for morons to gape their mouths at, is one of the things the show did right. They even introduced a new creature. Altough the fact they recycled Far Harbor's one's name for it, despite them being completely unrelated (FH is a salamander) is reeetardeeeed..
Too fricking bad they couldnt hold back and keep the BoS and enclave out too. The show MIGHT have had somewhere to go and some kind of unique storyline. Instead we get a regurgitation of storylines.
Yep, absolutely. The selective restraint makes me think it's just a fluke rather than a concious effort.
Two scoops? S2's president is Donald John Trump?
Eden didn't become sentient untill the oil rig blew up, or at the very least didn't assume the office untill after that.
The tv show ended just like the videogames do. In a big wet fart that makes no justice to the setting of the world.
bring back the T-51
You'll have T-60 and Pre-War Enclave PA and you'll LIKE IT!
He knew that in the multiverse a bunch of sweaty nerds were obsessed with a video game where shady sands was the capital of a major faction, so by destroying that capital before the game is supposed to take place he could easily demonstrate that that game is not canon and nerds should stop caring so much about it.
i agree with you 100 percent
once again you are the ignorant and egoistical one here
You're the one being fed actual lore and falling back on made up head canon to justify massive sweeping retcons. THATS egotistical moronation.
lore in fallout always changes
if the enclave comes back again to kill everyone even after being destroyed 2 times.
that is still logical because in fallout lore always changes n retconned
It changes because bethesda changes it at a whim you fricking moron. There's a reason tactics is universally regarded as non-can since it came out.
He destroyed it in a fit of rage after finding out he got cucked by a pajeeta. Characters acting like morons isn't actually a plothole. Sometimes they're just moronic.
shady sands was a gang infested and crime ridden shithole. the ncr are a bunch of corrupt homosexuals, and that bullldyke stole his wife and kids away from him.
hank unironically did nothing wrong
Shady Sands was forced open before the experiment concluded. That's why.
That's it. There's nothing more to it.
Would've been better if they just went with THE BEAR AND THE BULL homosexual nuking everything though.
>THE BEAR AND THE BULL homosexual nuking everything though.
that would've made the canon ending that the courier never got through the divide and stopped ulyses lol or doubled down on his plan
So are they not going to mention the vault 33 water chip ever again?
>water chip
water can be stretched out by sharing water from vault 32, but not keeping the vaults siloed risks one catastrophe killing everyone in both vaults
How long until season 2?
8 episodes isn't enough
this is the first show I've actually enjoyed in a long time
Also how hard will they shit on new vegas in season 2 given they nuked shady sands/NCR.
It nice that you enjoyed it.
I yawned all the way through. The show made me want to go to sleep.
Yawn
It truly is amazing to see how far the series has fallen. What once started as the passion project of a literal gay man based on a ton of cult-classic sci-fi/post-apocalyptic novels and films, with an actually cerebral and heartfelt sociological message, has finally completed the transformation Bethesda started in 2008 with Fallout 3; it is now nothing more than a vapid aesthetic with only the slightest hint of satire, except not really, because taking any kind of sociological stance with actual passion and sincerity means you might lose consumers, so you do the safe and easy thing and never actually say anything meaningful and just attack imaginary strawmen to virtue signal while skirting around topics relevant to the real world.
Fallout is now in the same vein as Star Wars; a product to be sold whose value is tied solely to the iconography of the series. The Enclave? Brotherhood? What do you mean they're bad? What does that matter, they're cool! Here, have this Enclave-themed cup, or a Brotherhood T-Shirt! Don't forget to buy a Vault-Tec lunchbox, and some Nuka-Cola, too! NCR? Those guys weren't really as cool or marketable, so we blew them up so the other cooler guys could have more screen-time, after all that's what sells merchandise! I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised, it was literally produced by Amazon, of course they'd turn it into an ironic parody of itself.
Sorry for being a whining homosexual but I just had to vent I guess.
Is shady sands being built with a geck tv canon or what, it's not in the games
fallout 2
I hope Thaddeus doesnt turn into an ugly ghoul
hes cute :3
The anons who are watching this slop are the same ones who reported people for spoiling Endgame
>Cinemaphile
>hating a popular show
why is this place so contrarian?
Hating rings of power I get, but fallout has been fun.
The plot makes no sense, but at least it's fun.
Shit eating plebeian
mirthless cretin
Fallout is the best series i have ever watched. Im israeli and im happy they are making great video game series on screen
Its a pity Wilzig died so early, I like emerson.
Yeah, I feel like things would have been better if he remained a character throughout the season
He knows too much about the plot, they needed him to be le mysterious scientist butthole to keep up the mystery but that would get old really, really fast.
>why do you need to get to Mouldy over
>uhhhh... secret reasons... you look like your mom btw
>where are you from?
>uhh I love roaches
He wasn't from California so he wouldn't know anything about Moldy or the greater situation beyond reputation
Never played the games.
Never will.
The TV show is great.
If you're that much of an autist you sperg out over minor differences in an adaptation, just know you're no better than any Harry Potter homosexual.
Retcons can be tolerated if a show is good.
If the show was suddenly magically faithful to the lore, the show would still be shit. It would just be less shitty.
The tv show was great. Its sopranos and mad men tier great. I am excited to see walter goggins frick a black woman. Take that white supremacy!
He did literally nothing wrong
So... why did he have the cold fusion core in the first place?
>NCR explodes for contrived reasons, their expansive empire is retconned out of existence
>NCR survivors are weird cultists who perform nude mystic rituals (never explained)
>Lucy's father goes to the seemingly already destroyed New Vegas at the end
>S2 will outright retcon or nullify everything that happened in New Vegas
This show seems to be written out of spite.
>no caesars legion/NCR/house kino
sad
I suspect they'll take what's superficially cool about New Vegas and undermine whatever made it cool out of jealously.
I'd expect them to at least add a visit to Big MT
Based on the writers' credits it seems to be done out of incompetence, laziness and ignorance.
This. I can't believe Todd would hire the hacks who copied the designs of Fallout 4 eight years ago. Tbf I bet Emil convinced him and this is his way of climbing the ladder to "decorated Hollywood writer"
Funny tweet considering that WB ripped off Fallout Shelter for their mobile game later, got sued by Bethesda and had to shut down the game.
What's wrong with nude rituals, you some kind of christcuck?
NCR was the height of culture, technology and normalcy in the world besides the Institute. Their capital city blows up and suddenly they're all doing cultish rituals?
Coal burning series
If you live in a Vault, you wear a Pip Boy.
Pip Boys detect radiation.
So why did their Pip Boys not detect the radiation on the Raiders the second they came into Vault 33?
That's a Fallout 3 invention. In 1 and 2 Pip Boys don't detect radiation, you need a Geiger counter for that.
>show is set after FO3 and NV
Uh-huh.
the show is 9 years post FO4
1 & 2 Pip Boys weren't wrist-mounted
Now apparently, pip boys detecting radiation is an active setting so if you don't have t on, it won't sound/display.
Though are we to assume the entire 33 population all didn't have the setting on, that not one single person may have been over cautious? Or that the vault itself doesn't have some radiation monitor/warning system? Or that during the trade no one would have some detection protocol in case the other vault reactor was leaking/compromised?
Come to think of it, did the fake 32-er raiders have pip boys on? I don't remember
I'm surprised nobody brought up the radiation scanners installed at the entrance of vaults as established in 4, i don't consider anything besides 1,2 & nv as canon but if you're going to do tvslop might as well do all the slop, have some prewar jet while you're at it.
I'm israeli I approve of naked rituals
especially with young ones
I liked vault 4.
They seem nice.
>have the means of capturing outsiders to run horrible experiments on
>use the mechanism instead to bring in actual refugees
>treat as equals and even accept their culture
perhaps naive like the rest of the vaulties, but good boys at heart
In the videogames, the only thing that Vault Tec and the Enclave accomplish is getting their asses beaten by random wastelanders who just happen upon them.
>vault-tec allegedly stole muldaver's research into fusion energy
>in a world where US already invented fusion and used it to power cars, weapons, powered armors, cities and vaults
Tooooooooooooooooooooooooodd
cold fusion, the shit that doesn't produce waste and makes limitless power from simple water. The shit that would kill the uranium and waste disposal industries.
Why do people that Vault-Tec was the one dropping the nukes? It is implied they'd consider it but seeing as how Cooper and his daughter were out when the nukes dropped, its safe to say that they didn't. Cooper's wife sole motivation for doing what she did was to secure her family, they'd be in a Vault if Vault-Tec was the one dropping the nukes. It also doesn't line up with Mr. House and the platinum chip.
Also, about Hank nuking Shady Sands. It was obviously out of spite and because even if it was Vault-Tec technology, it wasn't controlled by them directly.
Muldaver confirms it in episode 8.
I only remember them heavily implying Vault-Tec would drop nukes and confirming hank nuked NCR.
>sierra madre/big mt reference
Would the original Interplay movie have been kino?
https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout_film_treatment
Geez, I dunno. Was BoS a huge commercial success?
Not vault tec but living in the vaults is what he thinks is right for his family. He BTFO SS because he doesn't want them to leave the vaults also he got cucked. You're literally dumbing yourself on purpose just to make an argument.
Do ghouls magically heal injuries instantly?
They do now.
>believes vault tec should be the only ones to rebuild civilisation on the surface
>discovers shady sands, a city built by vault dwellers using G.E.C.K., a vault tec technology
>destroys it because it’s not vault tec, even though it is
Millennial writers are stupid than slice of life anime writers
it wasnt ruled by vault tec though
Over 200 years after the war and they still haven't made their move. They're on the 9th vault dweller generation.
Nowhere is. Why did they make several hundred vaults with absurd social and scientific experiments, and just three connected ones to do what they wanted to? It's nonsense.
We've had like what, half a dozen games establishing that Vault-Tec is moronic. I mean, they had a vault of like 1k women and one sole male. Another which the vault door never closed just because they wanted to know what would happen. So lets not act as if Vault-Tec always rational.
and fricking have a nice day zoomer, these "Vault-Tec" shit was always just background settings
like nuclear fission vehicles, a twisted black comedy thing, and after they make this into a serious shit, fallout universe is nothing more than a comedy dump, I mean Fallout has already dropped to capeshit after Ulysses, but this is a huge regression
Shady Sands wasn't built using GECK, that was Vault City and Arroyo.
Yes it was.
I thought so as well but its mentioned in fallout 2, its a shoddy job though, vault city did it properly; you can't find the cold fusion generator anywhere in shady sands and they didn't even know crop rotation. Theres also a quote from the vault city central computer that each vault was meant to get 2 gecks but its written as if they interpreted the entry that way and its not potentially true. Interestingly the quote about using the geck is also a rumor.
https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Shady_Sands_(Fallout)#cite_note-1
>A GECK? Well, that's old history, so what the hell. You mean the old Garden of Eden Kit. We had one - I mean our grandparents had one. Used it when they came out of Vault 15. Got this place started, they say. It's all used up now."
Vault City didn't have cold fusion, they relied on the nuclear plant in Gecko.
I recall a conversation that the generators tiny, its not meant to power a city its more of a babbys first power supply kinda thing so they relied on gecko. It's in the kit though according to its page.
No, they did have the GECK power plant powering Vault City. The whole repairing of Gecko power plant to power them was because Vault City had grown too large for the GECK power plant.
Huh, I didn't know about that retcon. Shady Sands would look a hell of a lot nicer if they had one in F1.
>if we blow up the world we'll make more money
I... what?
You are too small-brained to understand.
>post-apocalyptic world doesn't even use U.S. currency anymore
I guess I am too small-brained for this.
Did they retcon house calculating the probability of the bombs falling to him just being told about it at a meeting?
He calculated it like ten years before that though.
So this was just confirmation he was right
They didn't drop the bombs, they just talked about doing it. Your grandpa did the same thing in the cold war.
>t. didn't watch the final episode
The bonzi buddies bombed shady sands but originally they were bombed first. At least that's the charitable interpretation which forces the pieces to fit.
Will anyone even remember this show by the time Season 2 comes out?
>doesnt make sense
I know most of the people here have never lived their lives because if they had they would watch things and the morals and themes would speak to them because they could relate to their own life experience. Instead they go completely over your heads.
>mr House' ships never made it to alpha centauri
:c
Where in the frick is vault city on the show??? Did they literally forget retconned it?
Same place Freeside and everything else surrounding New Vegas went. I wouldn't care if they weren't calling it canon.
