The Loved Ones
The Cold Prey Trilogy!
Fantastic snowbound setting.
First 2 films have a great final girl played by Ingrid Bolso Berdal (snake tattooed girl in Westworld)
Really menacing phantom like killer.
Trailer for 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hll9bvpo0V4
Trailer for 2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeyXGRptUn4
Trailer for 3 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1A9f1KbRQI
3 is a prequel and is merely decent but 1-2 are both fully great, IMO the best slashers made since 1988.
>Cold Prey Trilogy!
never heard of it. will add to my list.
what's happening here?
Hope he didn't try to fire that gun.
Does he know?
They gave him the rubber stunt prop instead of the hero gun.
He was friends with the cinematographer
It's a rigged shotgun that shoots sand, works against Eye Monsters like Beholders
These are dust caps. They prevent the gun barrels from being clogged with dirt and grime when accidentally dropped.
Nerve gas
Splinter is a good one
Bunch of 2000s Killer Crocodile films to check out.
> Rogue (2007) [pic related]
Great (best killer animal movie after jaws easily)
> Primeval (2007)
Great?
> Crocodile (2000)
OK / Meh
> Crocodile 2 - Death Swamp (2002)
Decent
> Black Water (2007)
Very Good (would be great but it's bleakness limits it's re-watchability)
> Croc (2007)
Decent (has based Michael Madsen playing a Quint type hunter)
> Blood Surf (2000)
Bad but fun & has a lot of nudity
>> Primeval (2007)
>Great?
this movie is underrated as frick, probably the best killer croc movie
Burning Bright. its about a tiger though, not a croc
The first two TCM remakes were so kino and modern tcm.
Burning Bright is the BEST name for a killer tiger movie, holy SHIT.
The Hills Have Eyes
Seconded. I also liked pic rel.
Great creepy movie. I wasn't expecting that.
I read the book. What's the movie like?
2000s was peak of horror
It was the perfect balance of grit, practical and CGI effects, edge, and sex. Everything was in perfect balance. You had disgusting torture porn but it didn't get annoying pretentious in its attempts to lecture you. You had feminist slashers about getting back at men but with sexy scenes and sexy actresses. Filmmakers weren't afraid to take the ridiculous story's seriously and need to insert a marvel quip of "yeah that just happened" every 15 seconds,
this one's pretty fun
I love this series. Apparently it's coming back too.
>I love this series
Me too. Simple premise, good execution.
>Apparently it's coming back too.
Please do not do this.
true kino. watched them all again last month and they still hold up (besides the 3D one)
Whatever happened to Eliza Dushku?
this movie is quite possibly the pinnacle of the entire horror genre
I wouldn't go close to that far but it is good & underrated.
Pros!
> Decent to Good final girl.
> Final fight in the real world is fully good & gets really brutal on the pier.
> Cornfield massacre with Jason on fire.
> Decent score.
> Freddy looks great, possibly his 2nd best make up of the series after Dream Warriors.
> Robert Englund's performance is very good, menace & humor is balanced very well.
> Solid opening nudity.
> Good/intelligent reason for them to come into conflict.
> Intelligent subplot about how Springwood has suppressed Freddy.
Cons!
> Bad CGI (especially the neck snap at start of cornfield massacre)
> Fight in dream world is weak & too reliant on CGI.
> Jason's design is weak with the granny sweater & thin neck.
> Jason's performance is generic & it was a big missed opportunity not having Kane return.
Always been amazed at how they managed to wove together both Fred and Jason's stories together so well in this. Great film
dammit why cant i find the part where freddy comes out of the water and flies like 10 feet in the air? did it imagine that?
It's in the trailer.
thanks. its still awesome
>that scene with jason on fire in the cornfield
Really fun movie, enjoyed it a lot as a fan of both series.
one of the classics
guess the propmaster didn't feel like trying that day.
And no one died and there were no trips to Denny's later.
Truly the worst outcome
VOTE FOR 2 BEST!

That chase scene in the Hitcher with the NIN song was so cool
What's that one, it's more of a slasher than a horror, about these guys in their car who piss off a trucker on the radio and he starts messing with them
Pic related is really underrated and shockingly decent to even fully good.
Kurtwood "Bitches Leave" Smith is also in it.

Great pick, OP.

>2000s horror
I personally prefer 80s and 90s horror.
I'd rank those (plus the 70s)
80s > 70s > 2000s > 90s
They all have a lot of good films though
Ghost Ship

What's wrong with nu/tv/?
It's a bad movie.
Chaw 2009

This is the only horror that has gotten under my skin. At one point it makes it clear that logic doesn't exist in there and the theatrical ending made me feel dread, perhaps because it proved that it wasn't all in le head/allegory for depression/addiction/being gay, unlike most other horrors of this type.
I remember this being the only horror film to genuinely scare me in years.
Human Centipede 2 > Human Centipede > Human Centipede 3
Human centipede 2 was great. I fapped to the barbed wire scene until my dick was raw.
hostel
Based picks.
whats the other one thats similar?
i think it was called Splinter.
Dreamcatcher was good 2000s horror too.
and P2.
>iskanderbeg eagles

Thirteen Ghosts was my favorite movie back then. Also ghost breasts.

Dreamcatcher was off the chain
had tom jane.
that guy generally stars in good movies. but recently, his roles are shit. and Olyphant too.
I was watching dreamcatcher for the umpteenth time a few days ago and I went to the cast to see who played young Ryan Reynolds only to find out it wasn't even Ryan Reynolds playing Beaver. It's was fricking Jason Lee. It's literally just Ryan Reynolds
watching Rogue 2007.
Wolf Creek
Noroi
Dagon is a lot of fun
So is Black Sheep
Noroi and Dagon are easily top 5 for me
The other 2 I don't like at all because I'm Australian and there's nothing gayer for me than watching people be murdered by someone I used to have to watch yell at the cricket every Saturday at the pub with my family
