Sounds like blackmailing.
How about everyone just stops worrying about some bullshit checklist? When you make it a priority, it feels less genuine and determinantal to what these crybabies actually want. People identify with characters, how they act, not what skin color they have
latinx nazi pretending to be proud of his brown skin only to go back on pol complaining about these latinx mfs in the next tab
a feature, not a bug
Worst Blue Beetle
I’m “Latino” and I couldn’t care less about representation. They censored Speedy Gonzalez under the guise of caring, now they’re trying to do diversity checklists? Hollywood is an empire of godless pedophiles and hedonists infused with drugs and microplastics.
Ayayay!
It was a fun movie and it's pretty shitty that what they are taking from the movie flopping is "No one wants latinos" and not "DC is a damaged brand".
That's honestly the big thing that should be taken away from this if BB flops. It's a good movie but it has the burden of following after not just one, not just two but three mid to bad DC movies in the span of the same year. Of course folks aren't going to be in the theaters day one for a DC B lister after three horrific bombs
I was in the theatre for this. I think it was worth the watch
Do they actually think that or is it trying to guilt latinxyz and self-loathing whites (and "whites") to open their wallets.
We latinos don't give a shit. We would much rather have more anime coming to cinema than some z list capeshit movie the race bait doesn't work here
>anime
Move out of abuela's casa, pendejito.
Seethe gringo
Nobody cares about Blue Bettle, 18 de agosto sólo en cines.
I think both. I think hollywood execs are that fricking stupid and racist, and their supposed support for poc that they crow about is really that shallow.
I think it's also mostly a guilt play to get leftist gabachos to give the movie a blind shot.
I think if this movie craters, they just raceswap some white character with a hispanic lead in their next shit, and pretend it's fixing the world.
Hold the frick up. Have you seen it yet?
is this supposed to be a threat? are these people going to start executing mexican actors if i don't watch their movies?
Remember there are execs dumb enough to say they will not cast latino actors becuase a bad movie with a Latino cast flopped.
These are the same people who took a classic novel of early American scifi and decided that becuase a bad kids movie with Mars as a theme had failed they needed to remove the one core selling point from the title.
>These are the same people who took a classic novel of early American scifi and decided that becuase a bad kids movie with Mars as a theme had failed they needed to remove the one core selling point from the title.
Which one was this? Sincerely, I'm just moronic
That dogshit quote is fake. Can we not racebait this mid movie for the sake of it.
Its gonna flop and DC will regret its choice of director.
nuh uh
yuh uh
Good
I don't want israelitellywood's "representation".
latinos legit don't care and are actually making jokes about it
You should, that man doesn’t have a nose.
How much of a narcissistic butthole do you have to be to not enjoy something if it doesn't feature your own ethnicity?
ask chuds
ask every straight white male on here that
Take it to bunkerchan, dweezil.
They had a blank slate. They had almost no marketing budget. The little they had was about the worst thing they could have possibly done.
actual Latino living in a third world shithole here
I don't give a flying shit about representation. My top ten fictional characters of all time are all white. Suck a fricking dick Hollywood.
>Pochos won't be in DC movies no more!
¿Se supone que esto es algo malo?
Yeah no. All they had to do is make it fun.
Instead we have moronations like calling Batman a Nazi and the director behaving like a massive homosexual.
If this flops then only due to the massive mishandling of something that could've been the second coming of the 1st Shazam movie.
>120M estimated budget
>Roughly 350~400M break even point
>Average US ticket price of $10.53
>Roughly 62 million Hispanics in the US
So what Hollywood is saying is that around 60% of every Hispanic in the US must watch this movie, otherwise they are race traitors. It doesn't matter if the movie sucks, if they're over 55 or under 13 years old, if they hate superhero films, or if they're from that one weird country that speaks Portuguese. Put down your taco, skip your siesta, go down to the theater right now and pay for the privilege of being told what your culture is by an American studio.
...Alright.
350-400m is not the breakeven point for a $120m film.
People tend to use either a 2x or 2.5x multiplier of the budget to figure out that number.
Of course, that’s before a lot of other considerations, but that’s the general rule.
>that one weird country that speaks Portuguese
Brazilbros
race hustlers' gotta hustle
The kind of "representation" spanish people get in Hollywood is the worst fricking influence on anyone and they don't need that shit. Representation is especially fricking stupid because if you ask any White, Black, or Spanish guy in the US who their favorite heroes are at this point it's probably going to be some Japanese cartoon character because they cater to what people want to see
>Latino community
Did they finally come to their tiny TINY senses and drop that X shit.
Warner is more profit oriented than either Disney or Paramount so yes, they know how much Latinos hate the X.
People need to stop thinking DC is some massive box office franchise like Marvel. DC has always been a $400 million or less franchise even back when the first Superman movie came out in the 70s.
What matters is that these movies are great and will be loved for decades. NOT how much money they make for the brief time they're not available in stores or on VOD.
>DC has always been a $400 million or less franchise even back when the first Superman movie came out in the 70s.
Adjusted for inflation, that's?
>Adjusted for inflation, that's?
A pathetic cope
Classic DC cope.
>Movie that should have been out ten years ago may not work now.
It's over mi familia.
The struggle is real
Then maybe you should have made a better film.
>Watch the movie because it helps "x cause"
>This is the worst publicity ever. It shows the studio is not confident on the movie being good by itself.
I'm Mexican and I got second hand embarrassment watching the "representation" in this movie. Cringe af.
I liked the part where Damian Alcazar dies. Frick that asskisser.
Why are journos allowed to make vague threats like this
>threat
Looks like an endorsement to me.
Oof, Latinxbros, how do we respond without sounding mad?
Latinos don't give a shit about hollywood. We have our own corrupt industries.
The theaters are empty. What now?
Shoulda went and got your 5G booster, sicko.
Blue Beetle bombs, and Hispanics are banned forever from movies! The stakes have never been higher!
Even Cinemaphile is barely talking about this shit film.
DoA confirmed.
>the world's largest employer of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans will stop repping both if Blue Beetle bombs
Do racists really?
It's funny to me Barbie mogged literally all of DC without trying
It's funny to ME that I was more hyped, and more satisfied by a fricking Barbie movie that was full of feminisim than, well pretty much all of Cinemaphile cinema this year. What the frick?
John Carter from Mars.
They similarly fricked up Mars Needs Moms.
I got that John Carter was the first flop, but what was the flim that got it's sci-fi taken away?
Wasn't Mars Needs Moms the flop that causes the change?. Even though it's not the same genre or even audience.
Really awful decision. "John Carter" sounds like a biopic for some person you can't even identify. "John Carter OF MARS" is the shot of the fantastic that's absolutley needed.
John Carter pisses me off, it didn't deserve to flop as hard as it did
It was a good movie. Just too much Lopez jokes and ha ha grandma's a bad ass joke.
>and ha ha grandma's a bad ass joke.
Is there a more hack joke than this? I think "news reporter hijacked by crazy pedestrian that has to be censored" is up there
This was in the comic book as well.
So is Fire supposed to be Ted's deceased wife?
For the other 5 fans of BB and his comics, did you guys like or hate the changes to Jaime and his family (aged up Jaime and Milagro, no Brenda or Paco, no Traci 13 or Peacemaker)
