All Bonds are kino besides Craig. You can't make a wrong choice. Connery is my personal favorite but I wouldn't argue with someone that preferred the other ones.
> Timothy Dalton. Connery is of course a legendary presence but for me, it's Dalton.
Why? If you say meme that he’s closest to the books your a gay and never read the books. Bond as we know him is form Terrance Young and Connory’s early Bond. A womanizing, witty, psychopath in a suit
I just like watching him more. He feels like the real life James Bond. His movies have everything I like (girls with short hair, cold war spy thriller vibes, latin american adventures, serious but also jovial style of movie). the others don't do it for me. i can't enjoy them as much.
he doesn't frick anyone in any movie, just implicating sex. the only time it got close to a sex scene was in DAD. LTK is not Scarface just because it has a cartel villain, it's like calling Thunderball a mafia movie.
Sean Connery. There is no other answer and let's stop pretending otherwise. He's the sole reason the character is a world famous masculine icon because people don't like James Bond because he's James Bond (neurotic government glowie snob in the books) we like him because he's basically Sean Connery. The others didn't play James Bond, they just played Sean Connery. The peak of Bond was Connery + John Barry + Shirley Bassey + Lois Maxwell + Bernard Lee + Desmond Llewellyn + Jack Lord + Maurice Binder. Everyone knows this era was the only and the best but they want to feel special. Sean Connery's James Bond is so fricking perfect, the author who insulted him prior like a snob retconned the entire book series to be like the movies due to realizing how much better Sean's Bond was than his humourless bore of a character.
This. Sean Connery IS James Bond. The rest don't come close. It's apples and oranges. MAYBE Pierce Brosnan. I like him out of the rest, he had real charisma and screen presence but still Sean is the gold standard.
>, the author who insulted him prior like a snob retconned the entire book series to be like the movies due to realizing how much better Sean's Bond was than his humourless bore of a character
No, he was right the first time around. Should have doubled down on it but bongs have been spineless since WW2.
Elaborate. Book Bond is not a particularly enjoyable protagonist considering the movie version with the same namesake is the most famous media character in the world.

He's not, stop being a fricking insufferable homosexual. He's above an alpha male.
Ian Fleming realized this which is why he changed the character completely to be Sean Connery.
>One loves the character
So much so that he declined the initial offer to be cast as Bond and then declined the opportunity the reprise it, even though we both know Goldeneye would've been better with him.
Meanwhile, Craig portrayed Bond the most times and sacrificed more than anyone for the role.
But that's besides the point. Bond peaked with Dalton and Craig. The rest I could direct with 50 million dollars tomorrow, not even 200.

the funny thing about Craig is that if you photoshop his face to be a little more long and add in black hair, you have a pretty good Fleming Bond. CR would have been great if not for the needless action and the butchering of le chiffre and the fact the third act was dumb action over a contemplative character drama with Bond/Vesper playing trust games with each other until she kills herself.
>best movie by terms of writing, cinematography, directing, story and everything else >the Bond is a fricking scammer car salesman and looks goofy as frick and makes me want to punch him to death
You put Connery or even Moore in it and it's 10/10.
It would be if he didn't chicken out and fess up immediately. He only wasn't sued to bits because the director, Peter Hunt, was a madman. He was convinced to make George Bond simply because of his stupidity and audacity. Just to frick with him. Plus, they wanted to prove they didn't need Connery and even some dumb car salesman could make people forget him. Obviously, it didn't work out and they went back crawling to Sean.
Why did they let go of Sean in the first place? Did he decide to call it quits or the studio just wanted a fresh face?

Sean was the most famous man in existence at the time. Imagine that. You weren't left alone for a MINUTE. Naturally, he got sick to death of the role BUT was still up for Majesty's if they offered him obscene amounts. Saltzman and Broccoli, being israelites, thought they had it all figured out and that they could replace the main attraction which they walked back on after 1 movie.
He's the missing link between Red Grant and Bond, that's why they cast him. Wanted to go for something different.
The list of considered actors (aside from Owen) wasn't very good so that didn't help.
I don't like Craig but it really couldn't have been anyone else. Cavill was too young, Owen too old, Farrell was a meme at the time, all the other choices also memes. He slept with Barbara for the role but still. It really couldn't have gone any other way. Oh well, it's over with now. i am looking forward to ATJ,.

Lanzenby was as physical if not more than Connory, fricked women. But fans saw him as weak doe getting married abs crying at the end. They were so use to psychopath Connory’s Bond, they hated it
Why it works. Connory never wore a suit in his life until Dr No. Fleming called him a gypsy thug. Terrance Young knew what he was doing. He wanted a wolf in a tux. Fleming realized how superior his
version was he made Bond part Scottish in honor of Connory
This is my exact list as well. Calling Brosnan "Acceptable" feels like a backhanded compliment, but everyone else fits their categories , so it is where he must go.

You're actually not wrong. Each Bond film is a product of its time which can be a positive and a negative.
I didn't hate the ones from the 2000s and I'm unbothered by how much everyone complains about my generation, but even if you were to make a completely non-subversize Bond movie in 2024, the issue is that the writing will most likely be shit.
It's not wokeness that kills movies believe it or not, shit writing does that first.
Connery was the only truly unabridged Bond. His movies are the only true male fantasies. Brosnan was good enough but neutered, Moore wasn't as cool, Dalton was too mopey, Lazenby got married. Craig was a cuck. Connery's James Bond was a superhuman, almost like a god in human form. the charisma was out of this world. i still think he's the most charismatic movie star i've ever watched on a screen. unbelievable presence.
If you'd only seen Keaton's Batman you'd envision him too, even though he's physically nothing like the character, among other differences. Just because Keaton/Connery did good jobs within the context of their movies doesn't make them accurate.
Not what I asked you, is it? Who do YOU picture as James Bond when reading the books? Any of the actors or have any specific other visual image?
Have you even read the books? If you say they are good your a low IQ idiot. They are worse than chick lit. Bond is prissy Bong where every woman falls in love with him and he falls in love with them. I liked Clive Owen and wish he got the part in 2006. He had that dramatic theater flair with masculinity. An anon pointed out he's a picture perfect Fleming Bond due to his resemblance to Hoagy Carmichael. Is this what you picture when reading about Bond?
No, I usually picture Fleming's original drawing. But Clive Owen got robbed and should've been this generation's Bond. However, I don't care for the bandwagon meme that hates the character or didn't achieve anything with the role because I liked his early films.
I didn't hate his tenure either but I think a lot of bond enthusiasts tie their love to the series with nostalgia
I'm also not a fanboy so my opinion is just what I liked
I just can't do that. The sketch looks more like Major Boothroyd than James Bond. was Ian much of an illustrator? he describes him as Hoagy Carmichael like in the books but the sketch is more like Peter Cushing. A total pushover. Maybe Bond was Ian's own self as a character?

Pierce looked absolutely amazing in TWINE and DAD in terms of appearance. He was handsome but also a man's man. Christopher Lee is said by many close to Ian to pretty much be the man he based the character off of. Him saying that is the highest praise a Bond actor could ever receive and I don't see him saying that lightly or because he liked Pierce as a person. I think his performance in TWINE is the best fusion of cinematic light hearted Bond and Fleming's Bond. The way he fell for Elektra and all. He also looks the best and resembles the sketch in this age. Fricking unit.

I feel like they represent two opposite ends of the character which is fitting since Dalton was the last Bond of the TRUE era (1962-1989). Brosnan was the heritage years and Craig the soulless money making reboot years. I also felt he had the best chemistry with Q since he talked to him the best and most kindly while with Brosnan or Moore or Connery he just seemed annoyed and aggravated at them. I agree. Grew up with Brosnan as Bond but can't stand the movies anymore (still love Pierce) Dalton's movies are utter cinema. I'm a sucker for the 80's as an adult millenial so he appealed to me more.

I agree with most of that. I do have nostalgia for the 90s too but not so much for that Bond. To me that's "good Bond, mediocre everything else"
Telling why Fleming’s Bond is so good. I can tell you right. If Fleming got what he wanted, we wouldn’t even be talking about Bond. He’d be as remember as Bulldog Drummond.
From Russia with Love
The Living Daylights
The Spy Who Loved Me
(coincidentally, the three best movies of the three best Bonds, each of which represents a completely different reading of the character)
This is reason why Connory is the best Bond. You will NEVER see his type of Bond again. A womanizing, psychopath who had no problem taking advantage of women and executing people in cold blood. Closes we got was Brosnan. He was a womanizer and killed people in cold blood.
The others just don't do it, man. Brosnan took orders from a woman. Sean's Bond would rather join Spectre than put up with her. He was neutered, sadly. I liked Pierce though. Sean IS James Bond, not the best James Bond.
Bond should not be a character that is timeless. He's expressly conceived as a cold war character. they just pedelled this narrative to keep defiling the character for decades so they can make money. Bond after the 80's (end of cold war) should not exist.
I can already sum every Bond thread. Got homosexual zoomers grew up on beta Craig. Got constrains who throw
put Dalton “le most like the books I never read.” Anyone that thinks Moore is the best is a closet homo. Best Bond is Connory and Brosnan. Under todays woke shit, we will not see this Bond again. At best, we’ll see another Dalton version. Boring, no sense of humor, doesn’t frick anyone but one woman like Craig in Royal
I guarantee that I'm older than you, and you might might want to learn basic spelling and grammar before accusing other people of being underage. Your posts are unreadable.
It's some demented zoomer who wants to pretend he's from another generation. I've noticed this with Gen Z people. They know, deep down, they're fricked and they hate the time in history they came in to be born and want to escape it by lying and playing pretend.
You're an obvious ESL, which means you should shut up and listen to your betters as they discuss matters of Bond lore.

Or you grew up with Brosnan's movies and can't look at her M casting objectively. I do find you mirroring her with the Queen nice since it's romantic in a sense that Bond is on HER majesty's secret service. On more reason why they should stop making Bond since it's HIS majesty's now. Or just pretend Queen Elizabeth never died (i certainly do).

Who the frick do you think you are trying to kid? Do you think a native speaker would repeatedly misspell "Connery" in a James Bond thread? Do you think he would routinely use the wrong "your"? Just the syntax of your sentences is completely alien to an English speaker.
My old man was a legit boomer grew up original Bonds in theaters. First Bond I saw in theaters as a kid was For Your Eyes Only. My late old man hated Dalton. Thought he was to PC. He wanted Brosnan. So when Goldeneye came
out he said “about time.” He hated female M. I read all of Fleming’s books. Still rank Connery, Brosnan, Lanzenby, Dalton…blah
No one liked female M back then. Only fricking cucks did. But the movie was so good you forget the fact you had some dyke hag call James Bond names despite saving the world.
I'm not accusing you of being a zoomer (neither am I) but reading Bond only through the lens of perceived masculinity is a very one-dimensional way of looking at the character. It's also quite subjective: my own father (born 1950, so probably around the same age as yours) thought that Pearce was too much of a pretty-boy because of his stint on Remington Steele. My mother has always violently denied that he's at all handsome except to other men. I mean, that's probably not quite true but you see the problem here. Just because he drinks and has a nonchalant manner, doesn't make him masculine. Connery is definitely more masculine, but even then, a lot of his later movies like YOLT and Diamonds are Forever are just as camp as the Moore era. How can we say that Connery, when getting whacked around by a sumo wrestler or by two young twink girls is a man's man while Dalton, who doesn't really do anything embarrassing in either of his movies, is "too PC"?
Female M wasn't my favourite move either, but it was a product of the time. It's not even PC culture, more the cult of the superb***h that I think was started by Joan Collins in Dynasty. b***hy women in big shoulder pads ordering men around. Not my favourite thing, but call it a cultural hangover of the time. It was nowhere near as cringe as in Skyfall, when she became everyone's mummy.

OP. You are right. About the same age and my old man thought the same thing about Brosnan but he liked he had a sense of humor on Remington Steel. See, one thing that always forgot is Bond has to have a sense of humor. Which Dalton and Craig lacked.

You're right, but I think Living Daylights Dalton got the humour balance a lot better than License to Kill Dalton did. Moments like "...and a cello", "we have an old saying too, Georgy, and you're full of it", the miming from the pilot seat, "I took the liberty of buying a different brand, sir", all good dry stuff that could have been built on in future instalments. Sadly, License to Kill got much too po-faced for my taste, though still with some great moments.
Then I think Brosnan went the other way, Goldeneye was a good balance but then it got a bit too jokey in the later films. I guess it is genuinely really hard to get humour right in spy movies.

It is. Because it has to come naturally but also has to be underline feeling it’s fake. What I mean is, Connory and Brosnn’s Bonds where psychos. No argument. Like a psycho, they learned to
be charming when it helped them. Either getting info or just getting laid. That’s what OG director Terrance Young got. Why he got a brute instead a posh Brit to

Doesn't need to. Sexiest and most stylish Bond movies. Austin Powers can frick 50000 b***hes but at the end of the day he's a caricature.
This. The fantasy of Bond is that he can have whoever he wants, not that he feels he needs to reach a quota per month to fill the void left by his absent mother.
Nobody ever praises craig here. You're wrong from the very first point, just proving yourself as a sad seething resentment-fueled nobody who can't even win at anonymous posting.
Goldfinger makes no sense. Why the frick would you allow the villain to move a bomb into Fort Knox and just pretend to be unconscious, just to only barely disarm it? Just really dumb writing.
>Why the frick would you allow the villain to move a bomb into Fort Knox and just pretend to be unconscious
they needed to know a live nuclear bomb was in there to begin with, which is why they only start their attack once the geiger counter goes off.
To each their own. Hyperbolized versions of characters such as Moore Bond (and West Batman) feel off to me. They're entertaining but it's also like the movies are making fun of the character by making him so over the top.
I always loved how Dalton treated the gadgets. Not without ire but he treated them as a real professional, making them cooler and more legitimate. He is the best James Bond. He took the best aspects of Fleming's Bond without comrpomising the allure and fantasy the cinematic character had amassed over the years. When you read the books, you can only imagine Dalton. He's Welsh and has a bit of an accent at times you can believably take as Scottish thus not interfering with the later novels where Fleming makes Bond more like Connery since Dalton could pull that off too. I can't cope bros, I want more Daltonkino..
I see it the same way. Shame most Daltongays can't admit early Craig worked on a similar level, but fortunately Dalton himself admitted it in an interview.
He also said he would've loved to be in Casino Royale, and in retrospect that would've been great. Either him or Clive Owen.
>Shame most Daltongays can't admit early Craig worked on a similar level
I am the biggest Daltongay going and I can admit that Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were very Dalton-like performances. Something went badly wrong from Skyfall onwards, and as much as it's fun to dab on Craig I actually think that Sam Mendes is the likely culprit.
CR and QoS were great stuff and I never stopped thinking so but the latter didn't do so well so they got panicked and course corrected and tried to make Craig into Connery/Moore/Brosnan hybrid and failed. I preferred his James Bourne phase than his 'let's just go full memberberries' phase.

The funny thing about QoS is that it's so short. It feels rushed and incomplete, but that is genuinely explainable by the short running time. I am not well versed in how Hollywood movies are made, with time budgets and so on, but surely if they had shot about twenty minutes of exposition and plot expansion, not only would the film have been more coherent but the (great) action scenes would have had more time to breathe. On top of that, the film would STILL have been shorter than Casino Royale. I desperately wish they had done that.

QoS is a movie you watch with friends on a Saturday night with food and drink. It's length is perfect for that. I really liked Quantum, the villain was interesting, Camille was hot, Gregory Bean was entertaining, the locations were great, Fields was a classic Bond girl, the whole plot was classic Bond and there was a nice balance of political intrigue and adventure. Mathis was also brilliant. I liked the song too, clearly of the time and catchy in it's own right.

I haven't even read the other guy's post and just wanted to shitpost about Austin Powers.
I defended Craig in forums after CR came out (looking back, he repayed me with shit in my hand that blonde bastard) but he was good enough. his blonde hair and skull shape and posture at times made me wince but he really had the character down. especially in the train scene with his observations about Vesper. definitely how book Bond would talk. shame he made sure to rape any good will he had from fans with his last three movies. Look, Bondbros, I love the quips and the gadgets but let's be real here. The fantasy means nothing if the world doesn't somewhat resemble our own, how can it be escapism if it's Looney Tunes? you feel nothing. Dalton/early Craig is the kind of James Bond i want. Real and palpable with a hard edge. That's the kind of movie that sticks with you. Craig's voice is perfection. I wish to use AI to voice the novels with his voice. I love his voice, shame about his looks though.
>especially in the train scene with his observations about Vesper
That was an odd scene because Bond's lines were beautifully crafted, but every single thing Vesper said was pants-on-head moronic. I mean, that's fine, but Bond always treats it as if he's been brilliantly riposted. Maybe this is Bond's ladykiller instinct coming through as he flatters his quarry, but I always felt that the writers really did mean Vesper to come across as a match for Bond, which she really didn't.

Great observation. You're very right. As any writer can tell you, it's hard as frick to write women. When you do, you can't come up with anything half as good as what you write for the fellow male characters. That plays a part, I think. I think they went with 'woman so brave and stunning' angle and didn't think to polish her lines in the script.

>it's hard as frick to write women. When you do, you can't come up with anything half as good as what you write for the fellow male characters.
Yeah, this is probably the main answer. I also think, as much as we all love Eva Green, that her line readings in English were often not that great, or maybe the director didn't bother to correct them. Emphasises often fall in awkward places as though she is remembering dialogue rather than the character is originating it in her head. I mean, it's better than I could act in French.
I think he should've hung up the mantle earlier, that's it.
In fact, had he only done Casino, it could've been a neat "what if" like OHMSS with its own special fanbase. >Real and palpable with a hard edge. That's the kind of movie that sticks with you
That's exactly it. I just don't want it turned into Johnny Bravo and it's a slippery slope. I fear the next Bond might be like a caricature of a "macho" man on purpose, and they might find a way to critique "toxic masculinity" that way. Hopefully I'm wrong but I'm not very optimistic.
he did, for sure. but the bastard really had us in the first half, making some kino and then giving us utter abominations like Spectre and NTTD. thanks to him, the next one will be just an endless quipfest and you can forget about serious Bond for the next 30 years.
I like it. It reminds me of a better time (late 00's/ps3/GTA IV/shoegaze era) where I was happy so some emotional bias must be admitted on my part. I think what's good is really good and it's a great return to Bond formula without compromising the aesthetic and intention of Craig's reboot. Skyfall was utter memberberries subversive slop.
He overstayed his welcome but the Craig movies aren't the worst that can happen to Bond. The worst is some gigachad which the movie spends lampooning and critiquing for being a CIS man in 2024.
I keep going back to Johnny Bravo but that's what comes to mind. It's funny in a cartoon but Bond is supposed to be a heroic figure/power fantasy and not a secret punch line.
Craig Bond might've been a product of its time but it wasn't treated like a total joke just to piss on the Bond idea.
>tfw me towards Craig when Bond 26 has Kick Ass as Bond, black female M, trans genius Q, indepedent Moneypenny who doesn't flirt, Bond has a team like it's mission impossible, checks his privilige, doesn't womanize, the plot is a political propaganda prop, the humour and quips are more like MCU or Bullet Train-tier, the whole thing is a ripoff of john wick like Craig was with Bourne and each movie takes 5 years to get made
Say mates: which of the movies is a guilty pleasure of yours? For me, it's Diamonds are Forever. A very bad follow-up to OHMSS, but i can't help but enjoy it all the way through
We will but in a subversive form. What I mean is that the pendelum will clearly swing back to fun and episodic Bond but it will be rife with Reddit humour, subversions of characters and nothing even close to Connery or Brosnan's quality. If THIS is the actor they want to herald Bond into a new era, yeah it's fricking over.
So I’ll asked again. Will we see a Connory or Brosnan type Bond again in future Bond movies? And that is why they are the best
Also, to get a sense of what the nu-Bond will be like. Take a look at the comics. Bond is a self flagelating cuck who has not only black Moneypenny ordering him but black M. Felix is apparently gay now, he's no longer a charming gentleman spy but used (like Craig) just a fricking murderer scumbag to demoralize you or he's a quippy homosexual that acts more like Tony Stark. That's what it will be like. I mean, I want to BEAT to death whoever wrote this and was allowed to write Bond.
>just a fricking murderer scumbag to demoralize you
Speak for yourself American, I like those characters. Just not for Bond because it isn't Bond.
Also the original Tony Stark is VERY Bondian, more so than Batman. The MCU turned every character into a joke over time.
>the dynamite bond comics
Frick those things. I'll even say the Bond in them is worse than Craig. Also reminder that EON shoots down cool fan remakes of GoldenEye on the regular but lets shit like this pass.
Yeah but it's also bizarrely out of character. Art style seems lazy too. Shit sundae.

Every Bond media has been cheap as frick. Barbara has carte blanche on all of it and it's absolute garbage. She's 60 now but you know she won't be going away anytime soon. It's so over, Bondbros.

Babs has drank the kool-aid majorly (plus, you know the shit they say about anti-aging in Hollywood) and I don't expect Bond 26 to be anything but just another DEI/ESG catastrophe she lets happen because, at the end of the day, she's just a pawn who wants to be rich.
Sometimes keeps me up at night. He's not only a fricking great actor (best of his generation) but he looks and acts terryifyingly identical to the Bond of the books. What could have been, what could have fricking been...
I did an edit of him with the curl and the cheek scar and it's fricking beautiful (sans my editing skills lol)
I did one more, in black and white to highlight the vintage Bond looks of Clive Owen.
I get what your saying but there is just no way they’d ever have a Connory or Brosnan type Bond today unless he’s a villain. White masculine male that uses women just for sex and had no problem killing people in cold blood while making wise cracks. No way
they can but at the cost of everything else. think female M in GoldenEye but worse. also making sure to portray him as an anti hero or villain to make you NOT like him. clearly, the zoomer generation wants strong male idols in movies of which Bond is the original.
Andrew Tate is a very clear example of this. of course, he's a fricking degenerate gypsy mutt but they don't know any better. if a Bond movie in the vein of Connery/Brosnan came out TODAY, it would be a cultural phenomenon and send shockwaves through the male youth of this generation. The whole allure of Bond is that it's also a lifestyle. I shed all my excess weight, learned how to groom myself, walk better, talk better all by being a Bond autist. I am also close to courting a girl just by virtue of pretending i'm Bond. being a Bond fan is an all consuming lifestyle.

I totally agree with you but you're in need of correction: Andrew Tate is a half-black half-english mutt. Him being a gypsy would excuse his camprostitute business.
I just watched this and oh my god, it's perfection. I thought these movies peaked with 2 but this is great. Tom Cruise showed EON how to do James Bond PERFECTLY in the modern day without losing any of the charm. Imagine if Cruise and his creative team got a hold of the Bond license.
to add, i think this guy is a fricking perfect modern incarnation of FRWL Blofeld/Number 1. I also loved Ilsa, i'd love to see Bond fall in love with a female spy who has gone through the same things as him and he has a will they/won't they sort of relationship. It's a shame MI7 bombed but it could prove to EON that they can take ideas from it while not worrying. It sucks but it's necessary for the franchise to survive.
Yeah they're all very good but didn't really like 3 or 4. felt like nothingburgers. 5 and 6 are great. 7 has easily the best Bond henchman since Oddjob. She's basically Oddjob: waifu edition. Cruise basically wants to make Bond movies and by god, he's succedeed. needs more sex though and Hunt should be more of a playboy than a monogamous autist but perfect otherwise.
>7 has easily the best Bond henchman since Oddjob. She's basically Oddjob: waifu edition
I thought the exact same. Subtle but excellent performance by her too.
Cast Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Say what you will about Daniel Craig (he's my least favourite) but he was the right guy for the time. I think this is the same thing with ATJ. Just use the Mission Impossible movies as the template and that's it. That franchise is pretty much dead anyway (sadly) but it's template and mixture of both camp/dark and fun/serious is what will rejuvinate James Bond. I cooked up a photo collage using Cruise in MI to help anons picture how ATJ (most likely new Bond) would be like in the role. He also dresses more casually than other Bonds, has a youthful sense of fashion but no less mature or cultivated than the others.
Also, Brian Cox as M. I know he's already in that documentary whatever the frick TV show they did recently but he'd be a great M, a real M. Old white guy with white hair. Fiennes is meh, whatever. Let's start the slate clean.
I think Eddie Marsan would be a great Q. Short, stocky, nerdy little guy who's an autist about the gadgets he supplies Bond with but also has admiration for him as a field agent.
Jason Isaacs could've been a neat reverse-Bond for Craig to fight but the movies had weak villains aside from Mads who wasn't very accurate to the book to begin with.
Christoph Waltz is alright but he basically plays the same kind of villain in any role.
Craig is a Red Grant actor, not James Bond. I just pretend the Craig movies are in-universe Russian propaganda movies that the real Bond (Brosnan) laughs at.
He's the missing link between Red Grant and Bond, that's why they cast him. Wanted to go for something different.
The list of considered actors (aside from Owen) wasn't very good so that didn't help.
They do but sadly it's absolute hellish demon-written garbage meant to demoralize and piss people off. The continuation novels and comics of the 80's, 90's, 00's were great with endless ideas and material for the movies and they haven't scraped the bottom of the barrel. There's a novel in which a Spectre-like organization surgically modifies an agent to look like Bond and frame him in a cat and mouse game among other intriguing ideas. Most of them are schlocky but enjoyable.
Dalton is my personal favorite, followed by Connery and Lazenby.
Moore is too campy, Brosnan's are forgettable after Goldeneye. I haven't watched any of the Daniel Craig films lol.
Sometimes keeps me up at night. He's not only a fricking great actor (best of his generation) but he looks and acts terryifyingly identical to the Bond of the books. What could have been, what could have fricking been...

I did one more, in black and white to highlight the vintage Bond looks of Clive Owen.
Anon you're too obsessed. But yes he would've been kino. I've been shilling him as Bond since before I found Cinemaphile.
All he did lately was a Netflix movie and a movie with David Cohe- i'm sorry, Taika Waititi. Definitely grim. He's also married to a woman with the body of a twelve year old boy. Utter chad who's brain is not up to par.
He's both Irish and German, same as Bond who's half-Swiss and half Scottish.
>All he did lately was a Netflix movie
Haven't seen it yet. I do like Fincher so I'll give it a try sometime.
It's not that all his projects are shit but he's still squandering his talent most of the time.
I'm sure he would've made a decent Bond.
More than decent, given his identical appearance to the sketch as posed above. I think he had a window in the late 00's/early 10's which he didn't exploit and then his career never took off as consequence. When you're on the up, you have to have an instinct about roles. He didn't and as such, it cost him.
All Bonds are kino besides Craig. You can't make a wrong choice. Connery is my personal favorite but I wouldn't argue with someone that preferred the other ones.
Timothy Dalton. Connery is of course a legendary presence but for me, it's Dalton.
I'd agree with this. I love them all besides Craig.
The two Dalton movies. The 80's atmosphere is unbeaten.
He doesn’t frick anyone in Living Daylights. Licenses To Kill is shit Scarface meets DARE late 80s movie. Like Robocop 2 anti drugs propaganda
he doesn't frick anyone in any movie, just implicating sex. the only time it got close to a sex scene was in DAD.
Elaborate. Book Bond is not a particularly enjoyable protagonist considering the movie version with the same namesake is the most famous media character in the world.
>popular means it's good
Who do you envision when reading the books as James Bond? I can't separate the name from Sean Connery.
If you'd only seen Keaton's Batman you'd envision him too, even though he's physically nothing like the character, among other differences. Just because Keaton/Connery did good jobs within the context of their movies doesn't make them accurate.
Have you even read the books? If you say they are good your a low IQ idiot. They are worse than chick lit. Bond is prissy Bong where every woman falls in love with him and he falls in love with them. Versus more interesting Connory’s Bond who is really doesn’t care is the woman is into him. He’s arguably a rapist
He's not, stop being a fricking insufferable homosexual. He's above an alpha male.
Ian Fleming realized this which is why he changed the character completely to be Sean Connery.
>The peak of Bond was Connery + John Barry + Shirley Bassey + Lois Maxwell + Bernard Lee + Desmond Llewellyn + Jack Lord + Maurice Binder
This should go in every Bond thread.
That said, for me, it's Moonraker.
I love Moore but the Shirley Bassey theme always makes me want to see Sean pop up on screen.

t. Craiggay
Dalton and Craig's films are the only good ones.
Don't ever insult Tim by putting him in the same sentence with Craig. One loves the character, the other hates him and used him for quick money.
Have sex. Living Daylights and License to Kill are great movies
Daylights is watchable, License to Kill i had to pause it twice and come back before i was able to finish.
The Spy Who Loved Me
Based.
>best movie by terms of writing, cinematography, directing, story and everything else
>the Bond is a fricking scammer car salesman and looks goofy as frick and makes me want to punch him to death
You put Connery or even Moore in it and it's 10/10.
He literally bullshitted his way into becoming Bond. He's my least favorite performance-wise, but that's based nonetheless.
I liked Sean more as a mentor figure in Highlander than as Bond
>WE ARE BROTHERSSHH, MCLAEOUD

Indeed. I even liked his last kino even though it likely made him quit altogether.

Not being a contrarian. Lanzenby got fricked over. OHMSS is not movie to introduce a new Bond. Connory was suppose to do it but weather conditions prevented it so he did You Only Live Twice and left. Lanzenby was as physical if not more than Connory, fricked women. But fans saw him as weak doe getting married abs crying at the end. They were so use to psychopath Connory’s Bond, they hated it
He's a car salesman, not an actor. OHMSS works in spite of Lazenby, not because of him.
Why it works. Connory never wore a suit in his life until Dr No. Fleming called him a gypsy thug. Terrance Young knew what he was doing. He wanted a wolf in a tux. Fleming realized how superior his
version was he made Bond part Scottish in honor of Connory

Craig's body is only impressive to homosexuals. This is an ideal male body. He had no hair which is sign of no ACTUAL T.
I do like those shorts.
there really is no point in continuing James Bond anymore. it's just generic action hero archetype of the time that has the same name. Not James Bond. The 60's era with John Barry music is the best there will ever be. Claudine Auger is my wife.
>Bond, most kino Bond
I'll always salute connory a good man
Connery was the only truly unabridged Bond.
Not what I asked you, is it? Who do YOU picture as James Bond when reading the books? Any of the actors or have any specific other visual image?
Clive Owen.
So that's why the Craig movies upset you so much.
>No, I usually picture Fleming's original drawing
I just can't do that. The sketch looks more like Major Boothroyd than James Bond. was Ian much of an illustrator? he describes him as Hoagy Carmichael like in the books but the sketch is more like Peter Cushing. A total pushover. Maybe Bond was Ian's own self as a character?
I think he looks cool in the drawing. Cushing is a good actor but not protagonist material.
Hoagy is kind of a meme but he was popular at the time.
What do you make of this statement?
I think he was better than the movies he was in, Goldeneye notwithstanding. Deserved better movies.
Brosnan chads never lose
>all this dalton/craig/connery gayging
>when the digits already settled the debate
Pierce looked absolutely amazing in TWINE and DAD in terms of appearance. He was handsome but also a man's man. Christopher Lee is said by many close to Ian to pretty much be the man he based the character off of. Him saying that is the highest praise a Bond actor could ever receive and I don't see him saying that lightly or because he liked Pierce as a person. I think his performance in TWINE is the best fusion of cinematic light hearted Bond and Fleming's Bond. The way he fell for Elektra and all. He also looks the best and resembles the sketch in this age. Fricking unit.
to add, this scene is perfection. his movies with some more fleshed out plots, no female M (frick's sake) a cuter Moneypenny, a Felix Leiter instead of whoever the frick Joe Don Baker was supposed to be, he'd be hand in hand with Connery in cultural status.
Although, I am glad and agree that Terence Young was instrumental in creating James Bond as we know him.
Female M was one of the changes that worked imo. But yes, the Moneypenny pre-Brosnan was a qt.
No, M is not a woman and should never be a woman. M is called M because it's a shorthand for Miles Messervy, the real M. Explain why it worked, according to you?
homosexual snob. no one likes a homosexual snob Bond.
>Explain why it worked, according to you?
Maybe it was Judi Dench's acting or mirroring the Queen in some way, but I found it more fitting.
There's also this weird effect where Bond isn't taking orders from another man. He's taking them from a woman but I find the former more un-Bond-like for some reason.
I literally do not care about your autism.
Female M worked only because 80s-90s PC culture demanded it. Female M in Brosnan movies just cover. “See, she said he is a dinosaur and a sexiest” but than went on and let Brosnan be a sexist womanizer and psycho killer. Only Connory executed people in cold blood. So frick off Dalton gays. He was one softest Bonds besides Craig
>blonde, nerdy girl with glasses Moneypenny with Brosnan's more cavalier, bad boy Bond
What utter kino. Samantha Bond was not really attractive and had no presence. Caroline Bliss is my favourite Moneypenny. I love Lois Maxwell but that nerdy girl personality makes me diamonds. you just know she writes smut with her and Bond.
As far as I'm concerned they nailed everything in these 2 movies.
Connery is the OG but Dalton is my Bond.

Bond should not be a character that is timeless. He's expressly conceived as a cold war character. they just pedelled this narrative to keep defiling the character for decades so they can make money. Bond after the 80's (end of cold war) should not exist.
Today i start my Bond series rewatch, its gonna be kino till i get to Craig slop of course
Shut the frick up
that anon is 100% right. why would this threaten you?
You sound like a Mooregay but you're not. Explain this phenomenon.
I don't want people like you involved in the production or consumption of my James Bond movies, thank you
Tell me your a zoomer without saying it
I guarantee that I'm older than you, and you might might want to learn basic spelling and grammar before accusing other people of being underage. Your posts are unreadable.
It's some demented zoomer who wants to pretend he's from another generation. I've noticed this with Gen Z people. They know, deep down, they're fricked and they hate the time in history they came in to be born and want to escape it by lying and playing pretend.
You're an obvious ESL, which means you should shut up and listen to your betters as they discuss matters of Bond lore.
>calls me ESL
>no actual reason or refutation or examples of being an ESL
Just frick off, man.
>Or you grew up with Brosnan's movies and can't look at her M casting objectively
Kind of? And the Craig ones. But female M seems less like a boss and more like a friend.
Maybe it's a self-insert thing but I've butted heads more with my male employers than the female ones. There's a clash of masculinity that isn't present with Fem Em.
>no actual reason or refutation or examples of being an ESL
BTW I’m a Gen Xer which every homosexual on this site forgets
It was nowhere near as cringe as in Skyfall, when she became everyone's mummy.

> thought that Pearce was too much of a pretty-boy because of his stint on Remington Steele.
OP. You are right. About the same age and my old man thought the same thing about Brosnan but he liked he had a sense of humor on Remington Steel. See, one thing that always forgot is Bond has to have a sense of humor. Which Dalton and Craig lacked.
“I got you all wet”
“Yes, but my martini stayed dry” Connory Bond says right before fricking the b***h
Why he got a brute instead a posh Brit to
play Bond
>le zoomer meme
Some of these movies came out before you were born champ

Zoomer take. David Niven is best Bond.
Could listen to David Niven talk for hours.
tbf, the fandom is fricking dry as shit. no new books, no new movies. nothing. it tends to get pretty limiting. i suggest some waifugayging to get our minds off of the state of Bond due to Babs.
https://tiermaker.com/create/bond-girl-ranking-187236
forgot the scene. Sophie Marceau is such wife material.
>doesn’t frick anyone but one woman

Coincidentally, the 2 best vehicles in the series
Love that Lotus.
Plus, come on. He's the sketch in the flesh.
I see it the same way. Shame most Daltongays can't admit early Craig worked on a similar level, but fortunately Dalton himself admitted it in an interview.
He also said he would've loved to be in Casino Royale, and in retrospect that would've been great. Either him or Clive Owen.
Frick off Craiggay, no one likes you
>Shame most Daltongays can't admit early Craig worked on a similar level
>I really liked Quantum, the villain was interesting
Yeah so cool that he stole some water from Bolivia? Such a great Bond baddie
>his relationship with Camille
>the fact he had the CIA by the balls
>that line to the General about cutting his balls off and putting them in his mouth
>the fact he seems week and frail but went all-out to kill Bond in a fit of manic rage and frustration at what a pest Bond was
he was good though his plan was nonsense.

Hopefully I'm wrong but I'm not very optimistic.
>tfw "Bond" in Bond 26 will drive an electric Aston Martin
how gay will it be?
That suit fits way better on Craig than the tiny ones he wore in SF and on.
Craig ruined Bond
he did, for sure. but the bastard really had us in the first half, making some kino and then giving us utter abominations like Spectre and NTTD. thanks to him, the next one will be just an endless quipfest and you can forget about serious Bond for the next 30 years.
QOS is dogshit
Its a dogshit version of a Bourne film, shakey cam and all
NTA but it's better than Bourne. Those movies aged like milk.
No, it is not you fricking loser
It definitely is. Bourne is one of the most overrated spy franchises there is.
I'm not suprised a Craiggay would have this opinion
I stand by it. Aged like beer in the sun. Three Days of the Condor is an actual example of kino.
A very bad follow-up to OHMSS, but i can't help but enjoy it all the way through
I would say Octopussy, but I don't think it's even a guilty pleasure. It's just a genuine pleasure, I think Octopussy is really underrated.
So I’ll asked again. Will we see a Connory or Brosnan type Bond again in future Bond movies? And that is why they are the best

The cringe aspect to me isn't even the white pride thing but the fact that it's basically the Punisher.
They're mixing up characters at this point.
It's definitely the white pride thing. TBBD. NOW.
The one good thing I can say about Babs is she doesn't look her age.
But yeah, pure nepo baby autisms.
Babs has drank the kool-aid majorly (plus, you know the shit they say about anti-aging in Hollywood) and I don't expect Bond 26 to be anything but just another DEI/ESG catastrophe she lets happen because, at the end of the day, she's just a pawn who wants to be rich.
No way
they can but at the cost of everything else. think female M in GoldenEye but worse. also making sure to portray him as an anti hero or villain to make you NOT like him. clearly, the zoomer generation wants strong male idols in movies of which Bond is the original.
> the zoomer generation wants strong male idols in movies of which Bond is the original.
They do?
T. woketard
t. brainfried subhuman
probably a zoomer who skips the movie by 2 seconds just to get it over with.
t. woketard
I hope you’re right. As an Gen Xer, given up on modern shit. All taking anything male and making it Girl Boss bullshit or homosexuals and Black folk
I totally agree with you but you're in need of correction: Andrew Tate is a half-black half-english mutt. Him being a gypsy would excuse his camprostitute business.
>Daniel Craig has blonde hair and has a face that looks Russian
He should've been a villain instead of Bond.
>The name's Bond, Best Bond, baby.
Purely from an entertainment standpoint this is a fine movie but not territory Bond should ever be in. It's just disrespectful, simple as that.
>Myers said he based it off of Sean Connery
>when it's clear as day Roger Moore by the hair and the way he speaks and acts
I liked them all including the last one
>First and only non-white Bond
>Completely forgotten
>white man goes to Japan
>the men there IMMEDIATELY offer him their women to frick
Yes, because women are property. Congratulations on posting like an insecure virgin though.
Ching Chong Bond Bong
>he doesn't know about the venture bros spoof
heh
What happened to this guy? Was he blacklisted? why did he replace Sean Connery for a segment of the movie?
It's really simple.
Lucy Boynton as Moneypenny, echoing my favourite Moneypenny which is Caroline Bliss.
Also, Brian Cox as M. I know he's already in that documentary whatever the frick TV show they did recently but he'd be a great M, a real M. Old white guy with white hair. Fiennes is meh, whatever. Let's start the slate clean.
>Grow up, 007!
I think Eddie Marsan would be a great Q. Short, stocky, nerdy little guy who's an autist about the gadgets he supplies Bond with but also has admiration for him as a field agent.
>ATJ gets cast as Bond
>Craig returns one last time as a henchman
kino
Craig as a villain in general is an underutilized concept. Him and Jason Isaacs give off that vibe.
Do they even still make Bond novels? I wonder if they'll just start straight up remaking the old films
>1 slap on the lasses ass
>he's already having a muscle ache in his arm
Russian Bond would've folded him.
>he doesn't know about Redbar
Is he getting ripped to be buckbroken in the gay bars that night?
I hate Craig
I hate Craig Robinson
>I hate Craig
Dalton is my personal favorite, followed by Connery and Lazenby.
Moore is too campy, Brosnan's are forgettable after Goldeneye. I haven't watched any of the Daniel Craig films lol.
This is the best James Bond.
In an alternate reality maybe he is. Guess we'll never now.
Anon you're too obsessed. But yes he would've been kino. I've been shilling him as Bond since before I found Cinemaphile.
Just made two quick pictures in like two minutes. I wouldn't go that far to call that obsession.
Fassbender in Inglorious Basterds looks exactly like the sketch Ian Fleming drew, down to the hair.
Great actor, absolutely shit at picking scripts
>He's also married to a woman with the body of a twelve year old boy.
He could learn a thing or 2 from the Architect.
Favourite Bond theme?
The world is not enough
No time to die
Die another day
QoS unironically. Don't care for the movie tho.
3-way tie between these:
