>I was too much of a pussy to play sports >I was never apart of a team that my community cheered for >I'm an alpha because I have opinions on anime and video games
I'm not totally huge sports watcher guy or very atheltic but when I was a kid for a time I did bowling and even got a fair amount of trophies (not just participation trophies like actual tournament and league stuff) I was decent I guess but I don't remember ever going over 190 points.
The article is from about 10 yrs ago.
Basically, you get a package and have to pay for premium channels in '00's but during '10's max and hbo went full israelite and started doing this stuff like up than charging for both cable access and internet or you get a milked down basic cable and HBO.
It depends on what you want to watch and where you live. Outside of the NFL, the networks usually only cover playoff games beyond a single weekly matchup. The rest is typically only on cable or some league specific streaming service.
However, the regional sports cable TV business has kind of imploded over the last few years. A handful of smaller market MLB, NHL and NBA teams are airing the majority of their seasons on the free local channels. I expect that to continue as it's easier for those leagues to sell the rights to someone than try to build out a streaming service of their own (most already have them, but they're usually pretty niche for a couple of reasons).
> “The launch of this new streaming sports service is a significant moment for Disney and ESPN, a major win for sports fans, and an important step forward for the media business, said Disney CEO Bob Iger, in a statement. “This means the full suite of ESPN channels will be available to consumers alongside the sports programming of other industry leaders as part of a differentiated sports-centric service."
>be HBO >Have better name recognition than MAX >HBOgo >HBONow >HBOMax >Max >Max but with a purple logo and worse ui
Surely this was some legal loophole they had to exercise, right?
Why would they not just keep HBO?
>Warner Bros Discovery
Is there a worse name for a media company?
AOL TimeWarner was arguably a worse name.
It's just a standard merger name. Nothing special.
Please stop posting.
What just to watch live games?
If I wanted to pay for a streaming service that's going to be 80% black I'd have kept a Netflix subscription.

yawn

Playing sports and watching sports on television are not the same thing.
>I like watching sweaty men fondle each other
So do I, but there’s lots of places online I can watch that for free.
I don't like watching men play with balls but you do you. On a side note, let's see who can bench more or sprint faster 🙂

Most sports fans are the opposite of people who actually play sports.
Sports fans willingly wear another man's name on their back. Unless you dress up like Mario, you're more manly than them.
t. obese gym teacher/failed football player
Kek. Absolutely based. Look at all the soï chugging beta dorks that were bullied everyday for 18 years crying in these replies.
I guess you stuck a nerve with the NA’s (non athletes) and social outcasts
why is there no soijak for sports posts like this...i don't know what to think without one...

>Cable finally dying because no sports
Thank god, now all that's left is shitty news stations
sports will be back on cable once they figure out people aren't going to buy this to watch football
Good. Pirate streams will be a lot easier to find this way.
I wonder if UFC events will be a part of this
Doubtful. Maybe different under TKO, but UFC has a habit of jumping ship to somewhere else when a network is changing/merging/etc.
>Dana White
>is actually pink
So what is the price difference now to access all programming vs 15 years ago?

Thanks
its still cheaper if you account for inflation and degradation of real wages.
I don't think that's possible
to get everything from a cable package was like $200 a month at the peak, with some places charging obscene amounts for ESPN.
of course I'm not accounting or the cost of internet + streaming, because that's kinda psychotic.
I was about to say streaming let's you watch on-demand instead of having to watch live, but then I remembered even cable boxes had on-demand services
it's worth it to see one more nail go in the coffin of ~~*Spectrum*~~ cable.
>sports focused
read homie, read. Nobody fricking cares about some sportsball shit.
Disney decided having Disney+ and Hulu wasn't confusing enough so now they need to add an ESPN+ competitor against themselves.
I haven't had cable tv in almost 20 years and dropped Netflix back in the DVD-by-mail days and have never streamed anything.
Don't they air sportsball on network tv? A digital antenna is only $10.
Funny enough I'm in a decent coverage area to get channels just by using a freaking clothes hanger

If Iggy says it's good? Sweet!
Give me one good reason to watch a full game instead of the highlights.
>joint sports streaming service
Oh good. A useless thing I don't need to pay for.
How is this any different than cable?
They're just heading towards cable again.
>20
In your dreams lol, it will probably be 100

The name CNBC is already taken.
It will be $50 at least, these channels are like 80% of the cost of a cable/satellite bill
