Disagree, obvious trolls are much worse and more cringe - something like the movies made by eceleb reviewers that try to make themselves immune from criticism by being "intentionally bad", Breen's movies in contrast are much more sincere

The Neighbors was Tommy's attempt at making a legitimate sitcom akin to The Office or Parks & Rec. Some morons thought he was just shitposting and cashing in on being a hack, but it came off as a genuine attempt to make a comedy series by a heavily braindamaged man.

I don’t know, I’m pretty sure it was him leaning into making something “so bad it’s good” after seeing that everyone was laughing at the room
If no one paid attention to the room I’m sure he’d just try making another series movie

              Anonymous

I disagree. I think Big Shark could be that, but Neighbors was Tommy thinking "Maybe I'm better suited to comedy" and then actually trying to helm a comedy series.

I met Tommy Wiseau at a screening once. He clearly knows why his movie is popular, and while a certain part of not admitting it is simple pride, he struck me as being smart enough to play along with what people expect of him to keep the money coming in. More than anything he just seemed happy that his creation was still bringing people joy, seemed sincerely happy that people were so excited to meet him. His hand was very cold and clammy, pretty weak handshake tbh

Julie & Jack and Birdemic are terrible yes, but as you said they were sincere. The point is that so is Neil Breen's work. Neil's too autistic and conceiterd to be anything but 100% serious about what he does. I'm pretty sure he's even deluded himself into thinking he's beloved unironically, with lines like "No more books!" being iconic one-liners in the vein of "Yipee ki-yay motherfricker."

    >It's not every day I write a review.

    >"Cade: The Tortured Crossing" is a film that defies easy categorization. It is a work of bold, uncompromising vision, and one that will challenge and provoke audiences in equal measure. Director and lead actor Neil Breen has crafted a film that is both deeply personal and yet speaks to universal truths about the human condition.

    >Breen's performance as Cade is nothing short of extraordinary. He brings a raw intensity and vulnerability to the role, capturing every emotion with a depth and nuance that is truly remarkable. His direction is equally impressive, as he creates a cinematic world that is at once beautiful and haunting, with a sense of mystery and danger lurking around every corner.

    >But what truly sets "Cade: The Tortured Crossing" apart is its willingness to grapple with difficult, complex themes. The film tackles issues of identity, trauma, and the nature of reality itself in a way that is both thought-provoking and deeply moving. It is a film that demands your attention and rewards it in spades.

    >The supporting cast is equally impressive, with standout performances from Sarah Parker as Cade's love interest and Jack Thompson as his mentor. The film's score is haunting and beautiful, perfectly complementing the visuals and performances to create a truly immersive experience.

    >In the end, "Cade: The Tortured Crossing" is a film that will stay with you long after the credits have rolled. It is a testament to the power of independent cinema, and a reminder of why we go to the movies in the first place. With its stunning visuals, powerhouse performances, and fearless storytelling, this is a film that deserves a perfect score of 10 out of 10 stars. Don't miss it.

Having seen Twisted Pair, it's kind of obvious he's doing it as a joke.

There's way too many things that were obviously funny and presented as such. And even if he got some complete amateur to do his editing and compositing it would not look as purposefully bad as it appears in the movie.

His entire shtick is that he's making movies with the same aesthetic as early CD games with janky FMV cutscenes.

Do you like Neil Breen? His early work was a little too logical for my tastes, but when twisted pair came out in '18, I think Neil really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole movie has a terrible, confusing plot, and a new sheen of complete incompetence that really gives the scenes a big boost. He's been compared to Ed Wood, but I think Breen has a far more baffling, nonsensical sense of film direction.

He's a very unique filmmaker, that's for sure.
