So is Accordion Joe the only Betty Boop short that's still lost?

Probably. Unless there are some that are so lost we don't even know they are lost.

Nope there’s still the official Popeye and Betty Boop crossover porno that Fleitcher made

        The what now?

Allegedly as a thank you to all the animators that moved when Fleischer Studio relocated from New York to Miami, Max Fleischer had a full cartoon made where Betty Boop gave Popeye "an extremely warm welcome" to Florida. This wasn’t a half-assed gag either, supposedly it was a full cartoon with music, backgrounds, voices, the whole nine yards (also a gag where Popeye has to quit midway through because Betty’s worn him out so he eats his spinach and goes right back it, which sounds really funny). according to the story, Max locked it up in the Fleischer Studio’s vault (but occasionally bring it out to show special male guests) where it would remain the brother got forced out of their own studio in 1942 by Paramount suits after whicj it disappeared and nobody knows what happened to it

What's wrong with biological children - something people could see regularly outside?

Because it carries the IMPLICATION that people were HAVING SEX. Screen-couples had to be shown sleeping in seperate beds for the same reason (see: I Love Lucy).

That's why we had the Hay Code ruin Betty's career.

You do know about the Disney vault of smut, right?
Official lewds that animators drew as jokes to let off steam but taken by Disney due to copyright.
I read a rumor that Walt himself asked new hires to draw lewds and those that thought it was alright since he asked did so and were fired right after as some sort of shit test.

That’s a bit off. The story actually is that some animators in their spare time made a cartoon featuring Mickey and Minnie fricking in their spare time, showed it at Walt’s birthday party, Walt pretended to laugh and asked who made it, then when the animators came forward immediately fired them, left the building, and allegedly had all copies destroyed. It’s probably a bullshit story too. The main source is the book Walt Disney: Hollywood's Dark Prince, which is chock-full of errors and completely unsubstantiated bullshit including this weird bit about Walt being 10 years older than he claimed because he was really born in Spain.

From descriptions of it, I expected this to be something more like Betty and the Little King so I'm glad to see it was its own thing.

I think giving Popeye a nephew or younger cousin would make for a fun Buzzy Boop crossover.

Popeye already has four nephews: Pipeye, Peepeye, Poopeye and Pupeye.

Yes, one of them is named Poopeye.
