How shit are these movies?
I am watching the first one now for spooktober and it is comical, I cannot believe anyone would feel fear from this shit.
Are the sequels any better or is is same shit.

females actually believe in ghosts
i love them but Cinemaphile hates them
I do too.
Which ones are good, which ones are shit?
It seems cheesy anyway but its not like horror is some high brow genre, generally it is trash with a decent movie few and far in between
well first one is the best, then they steadily decline in quality, but all are enjoyable. Saw The Nun in cinema and it wasn't worth it but went cuz of friends
I'm not a horror guy so that's probably why I like them. If you didn't like it then you probably won't like the ones I liked but here goes: Conjuring 1, 2 has a couple sequences that I liked, Annabelle, and Annabelle: Creation.
>I'm not a horror guy
Me neither anon I am just watching them as trash flicks.
I am gonna give the second one a try and if it really is shit I will stop there
If I were you I'd do Annabelle first. Conjuring 2 kinda weak.
>I'd do Annabelle first
Are they actually decent ghost stories like the conjuring because the intro of the conjuring basically explained the story anyway
I can't really remember, I just remember this scene with an elevator and a stairwell and that's what cemented it in my mind. Been a long time since I watched any of these.
The 3rd one was more of a supernatural thriller than a horror.
Same
I like them. I generally don't like ghost type horror movies but the leads are just very likable.
Same. Spin-offs are kinda ass
The Conjuring 2
Annabelle Creation
and Annabelle Comes Home are the peaks.
Annabelle 1 and the two Nun movies are shit. Conjuring 1 is middle of the road spookhouse fodder.
I didn't like Conjuring 2, 1 was better imo
trash for third worlders/morons, like all goywood horror
The first/second are great. They're decently made horror with wide appeal, if people can watch it with that understanding, there's no reason to hate it. The fact that these types of films end up sucking shows that exorcism movies just aren't taken seriously enough by filmmakers. I have to respect James for taking the craft in them seriously.
there are movies where the protagonists slowly figure out how to fix the problem
then there are movies like James Wan's where half the time is spent hitting you over the head with the "rules" of the gimmick. same problem i had with the Speak To Me movie
All of the movies in this universe (Conjuring/Insidious/Annabelle etc) are the same. Well made, polished horror movies that ultimately aren't very scary, usually relying on music-driven jump scares with no payoff. I kept watching them hoping one would get me a little and they simply don't.
It's safe horror. Stories with no stakes, or barely any. Haven't seen the 3rd one because of it
Conjuring 1 and The Nun are the best of the ones I've seen. Anyone who doesn't like The Nun is basically stupid? I guess. the first half is pure kino. Second half gets a little silly sure but it's worth it overall.
I recall it being on in 2020 and I swear like half the appeal is Patrick Wilson being the lead, cause he's a recognizable enough face and also a naturally likeable/charismatic actor.
Only reason I watched the first one was because him and ron livingston was in it, I like them both
horror movies aren't good but the secret is to see them with your friends in the theatre. you do have friends, don't you anon?
>in the theatre
I dont got to theatres gay, I am not a teenager or a moron
I torrent like a sane person
>poorgay shut in detected
I remember in The Conjuring there was quite an unnerving part where the girl could see something in the corner of her room. But when it turned out to be a tiny israeliteess witch thing it stopped being scary.
I watched the Nun with my gf and she unironically got scared, I thought the movie was funny bordering on parody. Like I think there were definitely some intentionally funny bits.
At the end when she spits whatever that was, blood or holy water, all I was thinking giwtwm.
I like those movies because they are serious but not dramatic. I wish more movies were like this.
>I cannot believe anyone would feel fear from this shit.
No movies are actually scary when you're an adult, OP.
The two main movies are decent, I haven't seen any of the spinoffs.
