yes but he would have been embarrassed by causing it to crash
he probably could but then his ego kicked in
Assuming he has the strength sure you can definitely land a plane on one engine it's part of the design.
So just push there and someone can land it
He lasered the controls
There are more manual control's in the plan just in case that happens(well not exactly that but you get the point )
there are manual controls in plains in case someone shoots them with laiser eye beims?
ESL shitter please leave
He would’ve needed a degree in aeronautics to know where to act as the engine and how much force he could exert.
He’d also need to find a way to explain the laser’d controls
He doesn't literally push where the engine is it's meant to have force applied there.
You asked if he could land it not get away with whatever idk I don't watch the show.
>it's meant to have force applied there.
only so much. you do understand the reason pilots don't just max out throttle is because it could damage the plane?
Why did he even laser the snackbar in the first place? He could've just snapped the guy's neck in a second.
Are you asking why homelander is a psychopathic loose cannon?
He's incompetent and he doesn't really care. He spends 99.9% of his time doing photo ops and larping and 0.01% actually saving people.
he's a pussy
It's his go-to. Why did he laser all those bad guys in the military mission instead of beating them to death.
It drives home how deadly those lasers are which would make it more terrifying when he red eyes at people instead of just killing them
He doesn’t like to get his hands dirty, lasers are an easy way around it.
Flying machines are actually surprisingly easy once you go the principles right.
If someone was at the controls, he could push the plane virtually anywhere as long as he could maintain enough speed.
Also, he could have grabbed the plane by the front landing gear. Is not designed for, but I'm pretty sure it could hold the plane without issues
I admit I haven't seen the show yet, but the entire point of the plane crash scene in the comic was to show that kind of shit doesn't work in real life. You can't push up on a single spot with that much force without breaking through it. Not only that, but a severe lack of training and knowledge means they had no idea what to do other than 'get underneath and push up' which doesn't work for the first reason. Though personally I dislike the change that the government intercepted the first two planes and called off the third. I understand he wanted to show the heroes making it worse instead of just having no effect, but still. How id it go in the show?
He kills terrorists and lasers one in the wienerpit, destroying the controls which sends the plane down. Pretty sure he destroyed an engine too. Him and Maeve argue and ralsucus says he can't save the plane and he won't save anyone if he can't save them all. Threatens to laser them to death to get them to back off before flying out with Maeve and watching it go down.
I think it’s implied that he could have helped but didn’t want to risk screwing up and having it tarnish his reputation.
It's a big plane.
for you
for you
4U
Why didn't he just get another, bigger plane?
Pour vous
He could've flown them down a few people at a time like Maeve suggested, he just didn't want to.
I'm not sure that would be optimal either. Flying people at breakneck speed at that altitude with no protection?
this
>save everyone
>press interviews them
>someone says you lasered the controls
>look like a fricking moron despite saving everyone
On top of that there's the fact that already said that he would let them all die.
Come back 123 times? Come on anon, think.
In the comic it's pretty explicit that he and the other supes bungled it beyond repair, but the comic version of Homelander is a lot weaker than the one in the TV show.
I think the implication was that the odds of saving everyone by flying up and down were fairly low, like he might save half of them, or even almost all of them, but he'd take the blame for everyone that died, so he decided they should all die and then he could spin it however he wanted.
It would have required immense effort on his part and it wasn't a guarantee, hence why he chose not to try. It's a defining moment in his character. A real hero has to try. He did not.
This. Like men who still live with their parents into their mid 20s. You have to try.
I’m 29 have a good job and a cute gf and live with parents
Kek loser. You probably have your mom do chores for you.
Well that is what a women is for
lmao I knew it. Even when you homosexuals have ok jobs you still can't move on with your life.
I’m glad you’re so proud of being a rent cuck. Idk why you care lmao
You're the one who lives at home dude. I don't know you. You're the one who seems triggered that you're some old homosexual living with his mom. If it doesn't bother you then more power to you. But you are a loser.
I’m triggered. You literally randomly called certain people out unprovoked. Rent free. Idc what you think.
You cared enough to reply. Say hi to your mom when you pass her in the hall for me lmao
Will do
>people
If you still live at home at 29 you're not people.
Amerimutts are hilarious subhumans. Did your parents tip your doctor after he mutilated your wiener?
Remember. The 37 year old guy working as a burger flipper at burger king is better than me with an 65k/year job because he moved out and is tied down to be a rent cuck forever. He has the “dignity” I don’t have with six figures of cash in the bank ready to buy a home once things come back to reality. Just remember.
>he moved out
I mean, you can say it's moronic but yeah a girl will go home with him before she goes home with you.
>six figures ready to buy a house when things come back to reality
good fricking luck on that one, the housing market is never coming down again, the feds will just keep giving private firms money to buy up homes rather than go through another 2008. You save every penny you can and you're further from buying a house at the end of the year than you were at the beginning, shit is fricked.
>he moved out
I mean, you can say it's moronic but yeah a girl will go home with him before she goes home with you.
I have a great ltr with my girlfriend. But if your main motivator to being a rentoid is to “crush pussy” maybe you’re less of adult than me with long term goals. Besides I’ve never had issues with women regarding living at home. Besides Plenty of incels are lonely rentoids and in my experience and observations it hardly lends a hand
>once things come back to reality
No wonder you still live at home. You have the naivety of a child. Courtesy of always living under your mothers apron no doubt.
You'd shatter like glass if you were ever faced with real world consequences lmao. How many funko pops do you own?
Frick you troony, that doesn't matter
Seems like that rent cuck comment really got under your skin, champ.
wait, if you live alone, why do chores? other than trash, i guess
people who live alone still produce dirty laundry and dishes. dirt and grime still accumulate around the house, so floors and countertops need to be cleaned. windows and mirrors still get dirty/dusty. the fridge still needs to be cleared out on occasion. you probably don't have to do those things as frequently as you would if there were multiple people living with you, but you still have to do them.
saving this
unironically tell me a little bit more since im in this situation and its impossible to rent anywhere close to me
>Like men who still live with their parents into their mid 20s. You
What about mid-30s? Asking for a friend.
Shalom
>independence is israeli
>Independence
You rent though? And work for someone else for a wage?
Better than leeching off your parents and making them work twice as hard for Goldstein
I'm in my 30s with a wife and a kid on the way. I spent a chunk of money I saved for a down payment on a house to expand and renovate my parent's garage so that it's like a 1 bed room apartment.
Yes, try with pleasing your peers in mind and not sticking with your family
A great use of effort
>You have to try.
How?
He says in the comics if he tried to stop the plane everyone would die
In the comics he actually tried to stop the plane and it went just so well.
Uhh sweetly
that was one of the coolest scenes i saw while i was in highschool, but considering physics he would probably just punch through that plane's nose - the weight of the plane vs the small point of pressure of Superman makes it impossible for the nose to only have that small dent unless it's super heavily reinforced steel or something, which it isn't
People speculate that Superman exerts some kind of short range telekinetic field or something that lets him hold shit together when he catches it.
So when a person falls 50 stories off a building and hits Superman they don't turn into a bag of blood.
That’s a 1980s idea from John Byrne, nobody else has done that in decades. He does try incredibly carefully to match speed and acceleration and so on when catching people or things, but anything beyond that is comic book physics.
Kryptonian bioforcefields are mentioned all the time.
but Homelander is not Superman or kryptonian
nobody was talking about homelander in that commend chain
>considering physics
ahh yes the physics of a flying man who can shoot lasers from his eyes
Superman's powers include enveloping whatever he touches in a levitation field. So there is no significant pressure on the nose of the plane here.
Most likely not. Even if he could, it's highly probable that there would be casualties. It's safe to assume that someone on the plane would talk about how Homelander destroyed the controls when he killed the terrorists. That would have been a PR disaster for him and the other supes.
It was risky. It's much safer to just let everyone die.
This entire scene was so fricking good, the only thing in season 2 or 3 so far that remotely captured the spirit of it was Homelander telling the girl to jump.
I haven't seen the other episodes, but did they ever explain the obvious laser damage to the wienerpit? Or the obvious laser damage that took down the other jet he destroyed?
I dont know what happened in the show regarding that much Vought basically paid to have it covered it up in the comics. Like their version of 9/11
Thanks anon
also there was a scene in season 2 where the Deep swam down to the wreckage of the passenger plane and erased any incriminating evidence
Vought probably sent out The Deep to investigate so they could cover it up.
Idk why I never thought of them sending him to check or get rid of it
Not his problem
not without understanding a lot about physics, aerodynamics, and structural integrity
Test
He should have done an Iron Man 3 monkeys in a barrel move.
i too would've liked to see people rip their arms out of their sockets
what is meave actual powers? in this scene homelanders says she would die if she stayed in the plane? can a plane crash kill all supes? does she only have strength?
A rocket killed that bug hero in the last episode so I think a plane crash would kill a Maeve-level supe. Probably wouldn't kill Homelander though.
She seems to have some generic super strength, toughness, and maybe some speed.
She's a weaker version of homelander with no flight or lasers.
>does she only have strength?
The average supe has a higher baseline of endurance, durability, and strength. Remember how fricking hard it was to kill the invisible guy? They had to shove an explosive up his ass.
>Remember how fricking hard it was to kill the invisible guy?
his superpower was basically the ability to turn his skin into fiberoptic diamond
Thanks for clarification, I guess he was a special case, but in a recent ep we had Frenchy command Kimiko to detain that singer, probably because he didn't feel confident he had the strength to do it himself despite her pushing 60.
it's already inconsistent : she breaks an arm stopping a schoolbus and in the first scene of the series she stops an armored truck without a sweat
she's as strong as the scene needs her to be
Watch Maeves powers originate entirely based on how confident she is or some shit. Manifests stronger.
This is how they beat homelander, Maeve actually grows a fricking spine and it becomes strongwomen wins. Just spoiled the series ending they're writing for the Amazon series.
You do remember that all their things are planned. The armored car was a planned save and I don't think the car one was
I don't see how planning makes a truck which weighs 4 times as much as a schoolbus hurt less
She didn't actually have to stop an armed car is what I'm getting at. She was never in actual danger with the truck
he would rather let everyone die and no one know about it than let one person die and everyone knows, thats the point
The landing wheels are reinforced to be able to handle the weight of the plane, so theoretically he could have released them and pushed up against them with his flight powers to gradually glide the plane to safety.
>The landing wheels are reinforced to be able to handle the weight of the plane
only from one direction.
No. The tolerances, including forced landings, are so fricking high that you could hand the plane by the landing gear and it would not be an issue.
Anyway what he proposes is to use the landing hear to push the plane and maintain speed, that kind of movement is actually used on ground to move the plane around
You don't know what you're talking about.
You said thay the landing gear can only bear the weight of the plane from one direction, and is not true.
it is true. you don't know what you're talking about.
When you said "only from one direction"
were you implying that the wind resistance would be the other direction?
they were in a deathdive that started at cruising velocity. the landing gear would rip right off if they tried to deploy it.
The landing gear is attached at some point, right? Surely it's possible to push against the wheel without it being fully extended. All Homelander has to do is land the plane in the water to buy time for the coast guard.
But then it's not homelander saving them
Homelander doesn't mind sharing credit, I mean, Maeve was there. The issue is that the survivors would have pinned the blame on him for the plane crashing in the first place, which he didn't want.
he had to slow it down first. there wouldn't be any place he could apply enough consistent force to do that. even flying with one engine requires specific calibration of lift surfaces, which, thanks to homelander, wouldn't be possible.
all those buttons and switches you see here? they all do something.
there are lots of places on a plane that he could have applied consistent force. The base of the frame. The engine mounts. It would take a lot of patience, but theres no rush. it wasnt nosediving. The real reason he didnt is plot, and the character just isnt that smart. He always takes the easiest path when using his powers. I doubt he's explored the limits/techniques like Superman has. Superman does laser surgery with his eyes ffs
>there are lots of places on a plane that he could have applied consistent force.
there really aren't. even the engine mounts can only handle so much acceleration.
how do you think a plane takes off? It wasnt in freefall towards the ground. There no extra momentum to remove that it wasnt designed for.
>how do you think a plane takes off?
slow and steady acceleration rather than just jamming the throttle to max.
so why does it require more than maximum engine force to slowdown/land a plane already in the air? A plane thats essentially gliding
The pressure his body would put on the point of contact would be huge, but he wouldnt actually have to provide much force compared to just stopping the thing immediately and he could push with his back to increase surface area and decrease pressure. As long as its more than what gravity is applying the plane would slowdown. He could get it to a manageable speed before it hits the ground
Do you understand the concept of acceleration at all? G forces?
yes you anus. Im not saying he has to lift the plane. Im saying he has to decelerate it to the point it can make a messy but survivable landing. The stress on the metal for that wouldnt exceed designed stress since it undergoes similar acceleration when taking off. The difference is that he is providing force on a small contact area of the plane. And ive explained how he can reduce that or use the strongest parts of the plane
this is how a plane lands. it uses wind resistance to slow down enough so that the landing gear can take the impact
That was Black Noir in whiteface
Could he have not gently lowered it on to the sea then kept it above water long enough until help arrived?
maybe but it's hard to say, no matter where he would hold the plane there's the chance it would bend or break in half due to weight vs pressure area see
Maybe. And if he was Superman, that's probably what he would have done. But instead he is Homelander who is more concerned with his image than saving people. He's not too bright to begin with and even then the first plan that he tries to formulate is how to save his reputation, not save the plane.
Probably not. Even if he has the strength to catch the plane or whatever he probably doesn't have the skill to successfully pull it off. The plane would likely go out of control or get torn apart in the attempt.
Saving a few people was probably the best he could do.
The.plane had to crash with no survivors It was part of the Master Plan. No small guy could save it. No fireman could stop the fire from rising.
this can’t be happening! i’m in charge here!
Do you feel in charge?
>Out of my way Homelander. Somebody has to land this plane.
>(roll credits)
it could all be so simple.
No,dude no way.Totally organic thread btw. Also it's been already 2 seasons, you shilling game is pathetic and I have been here long enough where that picture was more common than Bane.Your next thread will be how angry you are about the dick scene probably
you
are
a
moron
Don't bother replying to me cause I'm not going to reply back, but you are a schizophrenic moron.
Think for a moment, just think.
This board says Cinemaphile. Television and Film.
OP posted a thread about. Hold up. Wait for it. Television. A currently running show on Television, that has a new episode dropping at 3am tonight, on Amazon Prime. Yes. Television.
People watch television and then go to talk about it on a board about television.
Shocking.
Now please entertain your Tourettes some more I know you can't resist saying the word Shill.
>still arguing about something from s1 which was settled pretty thoroughly 3 years ago
Thanks. Keep posting
>HE DIDN'T FLY SO GOOD
how many more hours do we have to wait for the new episode bros??
based Deep
Damn, the drawings of the cartoon are fugly. Amazon did an amazing job in Homelander's costume if you consider this as the source material.
How did Ennis get away with the gamer word?
dude just barges into the wienerpit going FRICKING Black person
hes saying Black person cause the Deep broke the windshield
and the Deep is black in the comics
I think he was just using it as an expression like how pewdiepie does
that's what i thought too lol
imagine being a terrorist on 9/11 and that happens
if you can say Black person and everyone who heard you say it is dead, did you really say it?
>Black Noir was the fricking pilot
>in the comics they try to turn black noir into batman and he keeps destroying jets and killing instructors
kek, what the frick
>posterized picture of new york in the background
i know they were probably on a tight schedule but lel
I don't watch the show but just saw the clip and read these and while homelander is kinda an idiot I feel like the fault really lies with whosever in charge.
Do these guys take orders from higher ups?
Because from the get-go when they're all flying and holding each other in front of the plane, they all seem to be thinking "this is a bad idea"
>what the frick is going on?
>i thought you had a plan
>what do we do now?
those sort of things should've been sorted out already before you sent the squad in, many real life operations have been screwed up and ended in disasters because of the exact same reasons
as much of a shithead he may be, superman is the first one to rightly realize that the mission is fricked and there's nothing they can do
also the show version makes it more explicitly his fault whereas in the comic its a bad situation and everyone drops the ball
who is in charge of these people?
An incompetent corporation who lucked out that they acquired compound V from defecting WW2 german scientists.
its a satire on capitalism, you're thinking that a company with super heroes would be responsible and actual heroes, they're just Amazon but with more money. They spun the airplane crash into a terrorist attack stopped by patriotism
it's a combination of the two : they have deadlines and the superheroes are incompetent as frick
in the comics they try to turn black noir into batman and he keeps destroying jets and killing instructors
Mark Wahlberg would've saved the plane
Homelander seems less psychotic and more autistic here compared to the Amazon version.
In the comics he is isn't a sociopath, just an arrogant dick. He actually does feel bad when he kills people unlike the comic version.
In the comics he's gaslighted into becoming a monster. Before that he was at worst a bully but not truly malicious.
The comic supes are generally more incompetent morons than malicious villains. Homelander especially is just a dumb frick who means well but fricks everything up.
Watch the final ep of that Diabolical show for a decent little short take on comic Homelander becoming show Homelander in a way.
wait kek so in the comics it’s them who do 9/11? That’s hilarious
not exactly they prevent the plane from hitting the towers and it hits the bridge instead
Isn't that a dramatic improvement?
Fos us maybe, in-universe it's a frickup. Especially because Vought got the jets to stand down instead of shooting down the plane moments before the intervention
>marathon?
>head chopped off
Lmao, ennis is really good at this
That is actually funny. They should have made the supes morons in the amazon series. So many collateral deaths.
do they still molest starlight in the amazon version when she joins the club??
Deep makes her suck his dick
Deep MOUTH RAPES her
lol how the frick do you mouth rape someone?
just bite it off
>He says if she wants to join, she has to suck his dick
>She sucks his dick
>2 seasons later
>YOU MOUTH RAPED ME
Send me some money and I’ll give you twice the value in crypto.
and that's it. Basically they cause 9/11
>Homelander will never call you a fat frick
yeah he could have pulled on the tail or something to at least slow it down or whatever instead of freefall, i guess he's just a sociopathic Black person and thats the whole point of his character
HOW MUCH LONGER UNTIL THE NEW EPISODE DROPS BOY-LADS???
I never watched capeshit, never cared about comics, but somehow I ended up reading Watchmen as my first introduction to amerimutt comics yesterday, would I enjoy The Boys comics and the amazon series? the artstyle is already incredibly shit when compared to watchmen
probably not
the boys is mostly gore porn and cheap laughs
No
Read Alan Moore's and Neil Gaiman's Miracleman instead
no the comics are actually bad unlike Watchmen, just graphic decapitation porn and frick capitalism but without the subtley
Yes but only so far as you like capeshit that goes beyond the norm.
For example I only care about Watchmen, The Boys & Deadpool since they either don't take themselves seriously or try something different as opposed to superman saves the day with the power of love and justice etc
people keep talking about how he needed to lift the plane but all he really needed to do was guide it out of freefall and let it glide. I mean he didnt give a shit either way though
He got butcher and the baby out of the exploding building in the finale safely,it wasn't a physics issue,Homie just didn't give a frick
plane go brr
It always felt to me that he might have been able to do something but he basically panicked. It was an unfamiliar situation, and he wasnt thinking so much about what he could do to help these people, but about what his reputation would be if he failed, or didnt succeed perfectly. His lack of confidence in his abilities, and the resultant possible backlash from not seeming perfect, killed those people.
weren't the new episodes supposed to be streamable an hour ago?
two minutes episode 4 drops
It’s supposed to drop at 3 am ET
No? Same time as last week and last season and all Amazon releases
It’s not on Amazon rn, and I saw on Google that it was 3 am ET
Refresh it
Still the same, 8 am ET
Unless the sites I’m seeing are all wrong
*8 am GMT
youre not alone, comments on reddit say some people have it and most don't. maybe Amazon fricked up.

Kek ill just torrent it later I guess
WHERE IS THE FRICKING EPISODE
google says 7pm est
The instruments were damaged but the controls all looked undamaged. Could have asked if there was a pilot on board before bailing out.
>mfw only just realized they race swapped Deep from black to white
>But no one cares because they made Deep the sole 'mouth rapist' of starlight
>Didn't include Noir in it like the comic because he is black
Couldn’t he have flown under the plane and glide it down relatively gently?
where the frick is it
It came out at this time last week (8pm est) and its not here. WHY!?
TORRENT WHEN
Ameriburgers, when's it out?
It came out 35 minutes ago
lies, I am refreshing the site like a madman and its not there
No, but he could have.
Yeah the plane could probably land between the cheeks of his butt chin haha homosexual
>t.Chinless homosexual.
Doesn't he literally explain why in the show? That the amount of force he would have to use to hold the plane would puncture the hull anyway and frick things up even more?
They would’ve been better off sending a train to kill the terrorists quicker than they could the pilots
He unironically would’ve redeemed himself too. Stillwell didn’t plan the rescue well at all
If we go by the show logic of his flying powers no, he somehow is able to literally stand in air while also being able to accelerate but he can't generate lift
As to what would happen if he matched the plane speed and going below it while it kept going down who knows what would had happened
