Jet's actor seemed like he'd actually watched the anime and paid attention (unlike John Cho, for one), but they turned his character into a divorced sad sack who won't shut up about his daughter, is afraid of offending women and is shown up by some random lesbian mechanic.
When did he say that? Kudos to him if that's the case.

I stopped watching after 1.5 episodes. I don't know anyone who made it to the end. I haven;t read any reviews of it and won't.
It was shit. All of it.
Spike was too old. Faye was more tough girlboss than hot girlboss. Those were only minor problems.
The main issue was Vicious. They tried to expand his story and characterization, but what they ended up doing was making him out to be a bratty Kylo Ren-type who has Shadow the Hedgehog posters hung up in his bedroom rather than a vicious crime syndicate boss.
Here's the litmus test for anyone who thinks that the series is good.
Pay attention to the music in the opening sequence of the first episode. How many tracks from Seatbelts did the cut up?
The show is fricking garbage. It COULD have been good, but no. It's a shit bowl of bad decisions.
And Jet was the best thing, surprisingly.
