To his credit Brosnan had shitty writing, couldn't decide if they wanted to do camp or a gritty reboot
But he was what happened if you picked the most Bond-looking A-list around at the time and didn't spend any time figuring out whether he fit the Bond persona
Hes perfect for the first 3 movies. He should've got an old man bond movie. Maybe if he exercised as well, he was in bad shape by the 3rd, Craig atleast stayed fit.
Kino except Lazenby is actually the worst. Casino Royale and Skyfall are actually good and help salvage Craig just enough so he's not the absolute worst
Its not his fault though- its the writing. Craig is a good actor and wouldve been more than capable of playing the Connery-era type Bond. However the writers/producers turned Bond into the cliché 21st century le pussyass deconstructed male hero meme character thats troubled and worried all the time. Not Craig's fault they took nearly everything out of the Bond character that guys liked.
>never did an underwater diving scene >never did a covert night operation in a dark stealth suit >never carries a backpack with gadgets to help him solo a mission >always uses that piss walther pp instead of a rifle or SMG during big fights >forced to rely on supporting cast and they always seem to get in his way
worst Bond by far.
did an underwater diving scene
did a covert night operation in a dark stealth suit
carries a backpack with gadgets to help him solo a mission
which movies have this? not arguing with you it's just I've only seen goldeneye, you only live twice, skyfall and casino royale (the craig one) and none of them had kino like that
I want to see more sky kino like the first 10 minutes of goldeneye
Also Craig never uses a grappling hook to climb or rappel down a wall or fence either. He just happens to sneak in somehow like that's supposed to be impressive when in reality it's not.
Just watch a lot of the Connery films. They are just objectively good. Each one of them.
Dr. No
From Russia with Love
Thunderball
Goldfinger
For Dalton, watch License to Kill. I didn't like Living Daylights but it's immensely popular.
Brosnan's only good movie is Goldeneye and I watch it every now and then. It's really great.

alright I'll check those out, I watched goldeneye but didn't really like it after the first 10 minutes
I'm not really into the campy over the top action and shagging the enemy

I would say don't start with Dr. No because it's the earliest film and they try to experiment to get the formula down. They spam the frick out of the 007 theme song and at times it feels inappropriate. They stop doing this in the other films and they play it only when something cool happens.
Give Goldeneye another chance. It's just a great spy movie. I think it's one of the very few films written after Fleming's death that actually feels like a 007 book. The rest of the films are just tourism advertisements with no danger.
Blame Austin Powers for the tone of the Craig movies. I'm serious. Bond was lampooned so well that any camp whatsoever would have been unacceptable to viewers at the time.
Jesus Christ, anon, this might just be the most based series of rankings I've ever read on this godforsaken board. I wouldn't put together the exact same list, but I want to commend you for actually demonstrating taste.
Casino Royale: an OK film and a return to form and most importantly grounding compared to the preceding films. Overhyped by particularly Americans but in the top 50%
Quantum of Solace: very forgettable and one of the lesser Bond films
Skyfall: I still think it's one of the best Bond films but I've seen people shit on it a bit so maybe worth looking back on
Spectre: derailed the entire Craig run, botched Blofeld and other than that brings little to the table. In the bottom 25%.
No Time To Die: shit icing on the cake. Surprising that the new 007 thing wasn't even that badly done (it could've been really bad but probably was fixed in reshoots) but a shit villain and even worse conclusion (Weet ik). Again definitely bottom 25% and possibly one of the worst films.
Overall 1 good film, 1 OK film, 1 bad and 2 shit films. A pretty poor return considering it's not as if his run became goofy like Moore's or Brosnan's, it just went to shit.
The black girl was fine. I was ready to hate her expecting some woke turd but in the end she recognises Bond outmatches her and is far more deserving of the 007 moniker. Villain was horrible, the fact they casted Malek only made it worse. Babby plot was meh, didn't care about it. But honestly what made it utter shite was the super genetic deleter or w/e. Even for a Bond movie that was too much of a jumping the shark moment.
I fully believe they were in an Alien 3 situation where after God knows how many rewrites they just cobbled whatever the frick they had into a mininally passable thing and filmed it
Its funny to me how popular Craig ended up being considering he is basically an Americanized Bond, he always scowling, with none of the suave charm or wit of the typical British Bond.
connery is and always will be quintessential bond
moore was decent in the role but by For Your Eyes Only it'd felt like he'd outstayed his welcome
dalton was based and i wish he'd had two more films to really shine
brosnan was good, can't really say anything bad about his films except Die Another Day was kind of lame
haven't watched any craig films yet
fell asleep during lazenby's film
He was fine in Casino Royale. Then the writing went to shit. James Bond is already dated and pointless, but the current "story" is just garbage. I don't even know if it's possible to update Bond to a current setting. Add realism or just go with the cold war comedy?
espionage, deep covert missions. Fighting the villains behind the scenes to prevent world war or prevent terrorism. Most of the time the villain is some kind of rogue agent from an evil government trying to hold a ransom or get revenge.
But knowing that the Brits are for woke garbage, they'll make Bond kinky and bisexual or some shit for absolutely no reason. Or just pull the old muhsoggyknees card.
He had the charisma and appearance of a badly crafted marble statue. Casino is good until they turn it into a melodrama with Vesper, and all the other ones are rubbish.
I don't get the Lazenby hate. Sure, the guy isn't a thespian by any metric and his costars are way out of his league, but a strong script and sheer carisma help him a lot. Maybe the Becoming Bond documentary sold me over on him too, it's a great watch anyway
Dalton was the worst by far. I didn't believe for a second that that pantywaist could take a punch from a Russian goon or wouldn't immediately spill every state secret he knows as soon as they brought out the car battery
Rating the Craig films.
Skyfall==Casino Royale>>>No Time to Die>Quantum of Solace>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
[...]
I don't even think Casino Royale is that good, it's just better than the others and has Mads in it but it loses some points due to Craig's performance making Bond appear affectless, and almost psychopathic at times, whereas he's slightly warmer in Skyfall.
Quantum of Solace is bad but is at least short, whereas Spectre is both awful and way too fricking long, legitimately terrible, it actually makes NTTD even worse by extension.
No Time to Die reminded me a lot of MGS4, parts of it make you want to stop watching, other parts are at best inoffensive, other parts make you absolutely hate what Bond as a product has become. It is also too long but is to its credit not as boring as Spectre or QoS, but the story is also overcomplicated absolutely insane bullshit so eh.
That just leaves Skyfall, which mostly coasts on Bardem's performance and nature as a very effective antagonist.
Overall Craig rating: Total waste of time.
Moore>Connery>Dalton>Craig>lazenby>bbrosnan
>sharing board with people who put Brosnan this low
Actual Turd Gobblers.
literal autism
Brosnan was the best bond, deal with it capeshitters

>Its not his fault though- its the writing
No, it is his fault. He always carries himself like some sniffing chav, ordering beers in some soccer bar shithole.
Didn't Craig have a lot to do with the modernizing of Bond.
>never did an underwater diving scene

Gets 5 movies only one where he seems to try the rest he's sleepwalking.
Easily. Try contrarian opinion to get thread going.

My homie
Who's the best though.
Dalton
Dalton chads can't lose, what a legend
Casino Royale: an OK film and a return to form and most importantly grounding compared to the preceding films. Overhyped by particularly Americans but in the top 50%

I wonder if any of the Bond actors actually drank martini when shooting these scenes. It was probably just water.
I think he's better than Lazenby
He had one film not hard to beat.
1. Connery
2. Craig
3. Dalton
4. Moore
5. Brosnan
6. Lazenby
...
9999999. The black trans lesbian who plays Bond next
Just you homosexuals wait. The next bond will be a gay nigg and you'll miss this worst bond.
No time to die was a decent movie would have been better without the Black person, and craig looking like a geriatric aids patient
>craig looking like a geriatric aids patient
he's a gay 54-year-old actor trying to play a womanizing 35-year-old secret agent, what did you expect
I don't think Craig is gay.
Cut out the baby subplot, and the ending then yes.
>without the Black person
What was bad about her? She was surprisingly kino in my opinion.
Shecwas a sheboon
Nobody wants sheboons in James Bond movies.
I do, luv my queens
The black girl was fine. I was ready to hate her expecting some woke turd but in the end she recognises Bond outmatches her and is far more deserving of the 007 moniker. Villain was horrible, the fact they casted Malek only made it worse. Babby plot was meh, didn't care about it. But honestly what made it utter shite was the super genetic deleter or w/e. yes
He really did completely lack the suaveness that all the others were able to pull off with varying degrees
Connery > Dalton > Brosnan > Moore > Craig >> Lazenby
I never watched any Roger Moore bond films and refuse to do so 🙂
Your loss
he was a great young bond in casino royale. when he started becoming bond bond in the other films that's when shit got bad.
fricking hell the setpieces in casino royale are incredible compared to the other ones.
He was always bad, he's a midget
Its funny to me how popular Craig ended up being considering he is basically an Americanized Bond, he always scowling, with none of the suave charm or wit of the typical British Bond.
connery is and always will be quintessential bond

>craig
>bond
He looks angry all the time and doesn't have any of the charm bond should have
yeah, shoulda went with other character for those kind of movies, he is not a SPY at all, not my bond
Regardless of how well he suited the role, Craig is undeniably the best actor to have ever portrayed James Bond.
yes, obviously
He was fine in Casino Royale. Then the writing went to shit. James Bond is already dated and pointless, but the current "story" is just garbage. I don't even know if it's possible to update Bond to a current setting. Add realism or just go with the cold war comedy?

why don't they just stop making bond movies and come up with a new British agent story with new characters but the same core themes

I've heard people say he is the best.

Casino Royale is the 3rd best bond movie, other Craig bonds are shit
