Absolutely no. That's what they did for New 52 and it was god awful. Even if the larger history of the team sucks the core 6 are important for his development as Nightwing.

One of the cool things about the DC universe is the generational aspect. You have the JSA, the JLA, then the Titans. I absolutely agree with Taylor that a story of them coming into their own and replacing the JL is 100% inevitable.
Dunno if the Injustice guy is the guy for that story, but whatever.

Dixon's run wasn't good, and I say this as a fan of the character. Dixon writes for the sake of getting a check, not because he cares about the characters.
If the story's solid enough, then whatever. It's all entertainment.
Dick has been going solo for the last twenty five years and has yet to have a good solo book like Year One.
DC has openly admitted that they'd tell writers to take good Nightwing pitches and make them about Batman instead.

That isn't a bad thing and I stand by that. People watch Columbo not for a groundbreaking mystery writing but because they like seeing the character work their way through the story. I myself would rather read something where the characters are engaging than some big arc that tries to be reinvent the wheel but has flat characterization.

Actual Nightwing fans have been disappointed by Taylor's run. It's the casuals who are barely getting into the character and only know about Dick through adaptions who like it. Just take one look at Twitter or the Nightwing subreddit.
That's most writers. Alan Grant hadn't read Batman in like 15 years when he got to write Batman. Still wrote a good run. Dixon's Nightwing run is overly hated if anything.

That probably helped him in the long run, because Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle were pumping out some of the best Batcomics of the 80s.
Dixon's run is to epitome of okay and even then it falls off hard after hunt for oracle. Tomasi's run, the first half of Seeley's and Nightwing "the untouchable" are the good Nightwing runs.

Titans at it's height in comics was basically an adult team. Even with the cartoon, what the fans want out of them is basically adult situations.

And that's a bad thing because "they're friends/family!!" is so watered down by most other teams (JSA, JLI, BOP, LOSH, etc) also considering their teammates as their family/friends with most of them doing it BETTER because those teams don't fight each other at least once a run.

Dick Grayson here is someone with a very realistic contradiction. On one hand he's always cheerful, always inviting, always mature, always responsible, and always humble, but also lying is in his nature. There's an intrinsic calculated coldness to him that he can't help, where using secrets to protect but also use people for a greater plan is a strength and a flaw he can't help. This juxtaposition between the happy face and the Machiavellian face also represents how much the circus boy showmanship is still inside him, creating his own version of Batman's pragmatic style. But unlike Batman he understands that in a circus act, you've got to trust your fellow performers to create the best act, and that's the big difference.
