>Dune: Prophecy is set 10,000 years before the events of Dune (2021), the series follows sisters Valya and Tula Harkonnen as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit. It is scheduled to premiere on Max in late 2024.
Is it a mistake for Dunc to try and grow into a franchise like this? It seems dumb to adapt non-canon prequel books first instead of adapting the rest after Messiah.

Definitely. Dune's canon works past the original are shaky at best and very improvised. You don't get the picture there was a grand plan to all of it.
Hollywood would do anything for a girl boss movie people might watch (they won't)
prequels set 10000 years before is acceptable
prequel for dunc? lame as frick
Yes, Dune worked because its done by a great director with the right budget coupled with an in cinema focus.
>It seems dumb to adapt non-canon prequel books first instead of adapting the rest after Messiah.
Of course it is but villenueve has no say anyways, it's not up to him. He doesn't own the franchise and is not involved in the project. WB will do whatever the frick they want because David Zasalazaz loves freestyling out projects and blaming everyone but himself
Nuke Hollywood Now
If it has even the slightest association with Brian herberts work it will be an abortion the likes of which makes the star wars sequels look good.
The cast listing is literally just powerful woman, powerful woman, powerful woman
>Sisterhood of Dune
>by Brian Herbert
>Kevin J. Anderson
Alright stick a fork in it it's going to be fricking trash.
How in the frick is this real?
Warner Bros wants a new cinematic universe
If they wanted a successful cinematic universe they wouldn't be making a show like this.
Then they should hire nips to make anime of it not girl boss crap that's going to flop super hard.
WB is actually trying to pump out 10 anime series a year from now on. It's probably all gonna be capeshit though.
stop calling western crap "anime"
If it's animated and voiced by nips, it's anime.
To be fair, Dunc is a pretty good launchpad for a cinematic universe.
Competent producers would focus on building on that quality with a show that would make people excited for Messiah. But this is wb so obviously they have to tank it the second they're able to wrestle any creative control from the person who built it up for them
>Competent producers
here's a problem
They want the Star Wars audience, but the zoomer version.
Disney already tried. Worked so well.
Zoomers like star wars, they don't know about Dune or DUNC.
Nobody likes current Star Wars.
Zoomers like star wars.
Not gonna believe you DUNC2 is bombing pretty bad.
>Zoomers like star wars.
Then why are all recent shows flops?
Fatigue and over saturated market.
Anything not a mega hit is a flop.
If I can't trust Cinemaphile who can I trust?
>If I can't trust Cinemaphile who can I trust?
You should know by now not to trust charismatic shitposters.

It's not bombing it's going to make decent money. It's not a mega hit but it's a success.
>bombing pretty bad.
Stop believing everything Cinemaphile tells you.
Nah zoomers fricking love Zendaya and Dunc.
>combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit.
Capitalizing on people not figuring out that Paul wasn't a hero.
Wow, more girl boss shit.
RORU. RUMAO even.
DOA. This is gonna kill DUNC for good.
Exactly, it's tv as well. So expect a lot of bullshit DEI.
Most people will just ignore it.
GOOD. That means they will not rape it further
>alison schapker
>In July 2018, it was announced that Schapker will be the co-showrunner and one of the executive producers of the second season of the Netflix science-fiction series, Altered Carbon [4] On May 23, 2019, it was announced that Schapker will be the primary showrunner for the series, replacing Laeta Kalogridis who is still credited as an executive producer.
>In 2022, Schapker was the executive producer for all 8 episodes of Season 4 of Westworld (TV series), the show's final season before being canceled by HBO

COW SIGN
She looks like a Harkonnen alright.
Yeah ok, it's over.
That's not the cv of a television executive, that's a cancer diagnosis.
try to find the suspensors
I'll never forgive what they did to Altered Carbon
Not a good sign but it seems they are committing Lost Cause Fallacy
>Brian Herbert slop
Pass, not wasting my time with that shit.
This is gonna be Witcher Blood Origin all over again
I can't imagine this being good. Foundation is unironically what Dune would be as an expended universe tv show (and it's pretty comfy).
By all accounts this is just going to be some women in the desert with superpowers being like "we need to make a saviour in 10k years time and also plot against the ebil emperor"
>Foundation is unironically what Dune would be as an expended universe tv show (and it's pretty comfy)
If by "pretty comfy" you mean that Foundation is an absolute reeking pile of shit, I agree.
Marvels bombs. Madam Web Bombs. Mad Max movie with no Mad Max will bomb. Barbie only successful because shirtless Gosling as Ken. Now Girl Boss Dune

Coomer here.
Anyone on this list waifu material or are they all ESG/hags? These are supposed to be sex witches.
Cant be worse than nu starwars river of slop.
I dunno this has the potential to be a RANGZ tier trainwreack.
WOMEN GET IT DONE
It's so brave, stunning and powerful the way that they subvert our expectations!
reject modernity
embrace tradition
Judging from the pic, it will be more like Coom: Prophecy
Who says they won't eventually adapt the rest of the books? They just need a director who'd be willing.
Only first two books and last two books have some action in them.
Yeah it probably won't be feasible as a film.
>WB this
>WB that
Don't the Dune rights belong to the chinks (Legendary)?
