the fact that two fictional characters share the same power is fricking insane lack of imagination, its so easy to think of a new power that has never been done before
It's more of a problem with mediums that East Vs West. Comics and cartoons can do weirder powers just fine in practice, live action is just very, very limited.
>look at jojo
Jojo is literally the exception of the rule.
Anime is filled with medieval fantasy, highschool roomcons and medieval highschool roomcon fantasy
Any power attach to a woman is ugly. All women are prostitutes. luffy and mr fantastic are just better at using their powers then bawds like elistigirl and ms marvel
>Shapeshifting phased out early on >Now is all "le wacky noodle arms and big hands xD"
You expected a shitty story about "muh identity" and "not fitting in" to use transformation in their favor. Frick, turning into Carol could have been used more.
this, luffy has been the only character where i enjoy seeing elasticity being cool, and dont make this into an east vs west thing, it jus the only char i enjoy using that power.
Kamala’s stretching powers just felt a hair more unique than Reed’s or Plastic Man’s. She couldn’t stretch to ridiculous shapes or become flat, she could just expand her limbs to be long or big. I never got the impression she was elastic like Reed or Luffy from One Piece. Honestly the change to hard light just felt like a budget issue as it was easier to render and blend than rubbery skin textures. That’s obviously the reason and the forthcoming arrival of Reed just reads like an excuse. We have like 5 super soldier characters and are about to get Armor Wars and more Hulk stuff, so the predicament of multiple people with the same powers feels like a moot issue.
>travels around the world helping people with his unique skills while being an inspiration to the people around him
I dunno, that sounds like a superhero to me…
Elasticity is the most based power and takes a true Chad (or Stacy) to maximize it's potential.
The thing I always felt about Kamala's powers that made her feel different from Reed's is that Reed's powers look infinitely more fluid and dynamic than Kamala's do. I know Reed represents the 'Water' element of the team but where his powers look much more free, Kamala just looks rigid and kind of robotic.
You have an extremely moronic perception of how locks work if you think lock picking is as easy as sticking a small item through the hole
Are you really going to draw the line of realism at lock picking?
>Turns into a sofa to dodge pursuing enemies >Compresses to be super-flat to sneak under doors >Outright takes pages from Mystique and turns into other people
Early Kamala was a lower-tier Plastic Man.
It's a real shame that it seems to be a power avoided to be given to females. Stretch Armstrong show had no elastic females and Kamala had her powers completely changed even though hers barely count. Hell the multitude of Elastigirl art just flat out ignores her powers. What gives?
>What gives?
My theory is that most superpowers that involve some degree of shapeshifting, transforming, or any kind of body irregularities are reserved for men because female characters tend to be given flashy super powers that don't compromise their body shape. Most female characters are made to be sexy and having a weird stretchy body doesn't help that. Of course there are thematic exceptions like Helen being stretchy because moms are pulled in different directions but for the most part if a character has powers that make their body look weird, it's going to be a guy.
While I do enjoy sexy, its a bit of s shame that it cause certain powers to not be used. Damn shame cause it can look good if drawn well.
Also explains why giantess and muscles is more accepted; one doesnt change the form aside from literal size and the other is muscles which equals strength so most would see it and not bat an eye.
The more you think about his biology the more unsettling he becomes. Regardless of gender it's better to not think too hard about how they look or function.
Madame Rouge was essentially the T-1000 in that cartoon. At one point her whole upper torso explodes in a gooey mess and she just reforms from the waist up like it's nothing.
Shit opinion
>comic gay
Eat shit israelite. We are ccx a hivemind here on Cinemaphile
the fact that two fictional characters share the same power is fricking insane lack of imagination, its so easy to think of a new power that has never been done before
People want their characters to be cool
Anime is better because japanese are more creative with their super powers and fights look at Jojo and half of shounen for example
It's more of a problem with mediums that East Vs West. Comics and cartoons can do weirder powers just fine in practice, live action is just very, very limited.
its their imagination that is limited not the ability to show powers in live action
No it is definitely a budget thing
bro live action luffy is gonna look like ass
>animegay
Who in the frick asked you?
>Japanese are more creative with super powers
LMAO. Nip shit almost always boils down to laser beam tug of war
Luffy’s Gears
Exception is not the rule
Luffy is the most well known stretchy character worldwide
no he's not
also that's not related to the topic at hand
Is stretching was so ugly why is Luffy so popular
>Exception is not the rule
moron, you're not familiar with japanese media at all
wrong and you will never be japanese
>look at jojo
Jojo is literally the exception of the rule.
Anime is filled with medieval fantasy, highschool roomcons and medieval highschool roomcon fantasy
I can get not liking elasticity powers
but what makes you think everyone having the same powers is a good idea? I literally don't get what you are trying to say
Any power attach to a woman is ugly. All women are prostitutes. luffy and mr fantastic are just better at using their powers then bawds like elistigirl and ms marvel
ms. marvel's powers were like a combo between mister fantastic and ant-man.
now shes like a shit green lantern
>Shapeshifting phased out early on
>Now is all "le wacky noodle arms and big hands xD"
You expected a shitty story about "muh identity" and "not fitting in" to use transformation in their favor. Frick, turning into Carol could have been used more.
It’s all about execution
I now realize just how badly they're going to frick up Luffy's powers in the live action show.
On the other hand if they do get his powers right, that’s going to be a huge L on Marvel.
>It’s all about execution
The shonen mentality and design logic is so simple, but difficult to replicate competently
this, luffy has been the only character where i enjoy seeing elasticity being cool, and dont make this into an east vs west thing, it jus the only char i enjoy using that power.
This. Western animation sucks
This. Anime/manga is better than cartoons/comics in any and all cases.
They're both shit
Plastic man is just as good.
>Wan Piss cucks have actually gaslit themselves into liking Gear Fourth
LMAO
It’s a good luck. Smoke, cool red black look, markings and of course punching

Maybe she'll get her powers in The Marvels, where there'll be time and budget to implement it better.
Anon, I want you to think about every superhero with stretching powers and think about how popular they are then come back to me
One Piece is worth $14.5 billion anon. The problem is not their stretchy powers.
He’s not a superhero
>travels around the world helping people with his unique skills while being an inspiration to the people around him
I dunno, that sounds like a superhero to me…

>Elasticity is an ugly looking power
>this moron values form over function
It's versatile as frick. Need to pick a lock? Just squeeze a finger in the keyhole. Boom. That's for starters.
You have an extremely moronic perception of how locks work if you think lock picking is as easy as sticking a small item through the hole
It's a Hollywood lock, not a real world lock.
The stretchy molds his fingers to fit the key hole
Frick you, moron, you're ugly looking. Elastic powers are ALWAYS cool.
It can and would of worked if they gave a shit and tried not to be cheap. It can and is a cool and flexible powerset if done with love and care.
>Ms Marvel gives you a HJ while she very slowly expands her hand until it feels like-
Nope sorry, best power

At least we sometimes get dudes using these powers to act sexy
>the road rovers
what the actual frick
Thats cool too, but need more elastic women regardless.
That tracks. Plastic Man can pull off the fleshy flipper feet, but it's just kind of disturbing here
The more you think about his biology the more unsettling he becomes. Regardless of gender it's better to not think too hard about how they look or function.
>ugly looking power
only if you're already ugly
In some cases, ugliness can be fixed by this power.
I think stretchy powers were done quite well with Madame Rouge in the Teen Titans cartoon
She actually felt like a threat
She’s a great villain who is criminally underutilized. Same with her daughter.
Is Gemini even still around in the comics?
Madame Rouge was essentially the T-1000 in that cartoon. At one point her whole upper torso explodes in a gooey mess and she just reforms from the waist up like it's nothing.
Plastic Man is beyond just being stretchy like what OP was talking about. He has cartoon powers.
