>He was a zombie?
Gets me every time
Also, the best Treehouse of Horror is undoubtedly V, since all its segments are absolute gold, but frankly every Treehouse up to like season 9 is a classic
The 3D segment and the time travel segment are my favorites. Homer losing his shit and just beating the frick out of everything in the Cretaceous out of frustration is peak comedy.
I don't want any zombie turkeys. I don't want to turn into a turkey myself and I don't want any other weird surprises. You got it!?
These ones are also super good. Frick, I love old simpsons
"Desperately Xeeking Xena" is a post-Classic semi-guilty pleasure of mine. I have a weakness for superhero episodes of non-superhero shows. And for muscle girls.
For me it's a hard tossup between Homer3 and Dial Z for Zombies. Also does anyone else feel like the Halloween episodes stayed solid longer than the rest of the show overall? I still get a kick out of some of the later ones in the teen seasons.
>hey, i heard we’re going to ape island! >yeah, to capture a giant ape. i wish we were going to candy apple island >candy apple island? what do they got there? >apes - but they’re not so big.
I will throw in a recent one into the ring and say the Death Note one is mostly decent, just wasted opportunity killing randos instead of other anime styled simpsons characters. The comic version was better.

lot of the S20+ episodes generally would be classics if they'd happened between s3-s9
One of Dan's more underrated performances, really. Especially this part, where he seamlessly goes from a genuinely emotional read to "annoyed Homer" on the line "Take thy beak from out my heart and take thy form from off my door!"
Anyone else hate how Marge doesn't get hurt and suffer in these? I don't count being scared like during the segment of the Shining. I mean it, Marge is never tortured the way Homer and Bart are. And Lisa is the same, but Marge is the bigger example of not being tortured during the Halloween specials. Really hate the blanket of protection that Marge and Lisa enjoy.
>Homer3
>zombie flanders, probably
I just wanna explore that 3rd dimension while listening to the library theme from myst.
FRESH VICTIMS FOR MY EVERGROWING ARMY OF THE UNDEAD.
>Did anyone see the movie Tron?
My favourite running gag in the show is Homer being surprisingly knowledgeable about niche subjects, like the various Supreme Court jokes
>Lisa, in this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics!
>I'm not jealous, I'm envious. Jealousy is when you worry someone will take what you have. Envy is wanting what someone else has. What I feel is envy.
>You can't keep blaming yourself. Just blame yourself once, and move on.
>Japan will be fun. You liked Rashomon.
>That's not how I remember it!
>I am selling only the concept of karmic realignment.
>You can't sell that! Karma can only be portioned out by the cosmos.
>He's got me there.
no
>no
PDI's most popular work before they made Antz and Shrek. Antz came out exactly 3 years after this episode aired.
The early 3D void space and screensaver aesthetic is creepy af. Reminds me of the Johnny Quest episodes that used 3D like Medusa.
Maybe it's the nostalgia and/or the music, but i find it both somber yet comforting.
I liked they tricked people into thinking they found an exception to fermat's last theorem.
IV through VI are the best of the best of the best, SIR! With honors!

>Homer sneezes
>all the dinosaurs immediately start dropping dead one after another
>"Thiiiis is gonna cost me..."

Kill my boss? Do I dare live out the American dream?
>WE HAVE TO KILL THE BOY!
>How did you know he was a vampire?
>HE'S A VAMPIRE? AAAAAAAAA
Tell you what: we come back and everyone's slaughtered? I owe you a Coke.
The gremlin on the side of the bus
Anyone see Tron?
No
No

Yeah I forgot that the "a wizard did it" line is from season 11.
How to Cook for Forty Humans
>Lousy Smarch Weather!
>Don't blame me. *I* voted for Kodos.

For me, it's either king homer or dial Z for Zombie
I think it's because they had a lot more wiggle room in halloween eps. Didn't have to stay with standard simpsons stories
Yeah, I think it's because the short anthology format forces them to cut the fat. Plus parody kind of writes itself.
King Homer is my favorite.
>Hmm what do you think Smithers?
>I think woman and seamen don’t mix
we know what you think
>hey, i heard we’re going to ape island!
>yeah, to capture a giant ape. i wish we were going to candy apple island
>candy apple island? what do they got there?
>apes - but they’re not so big.
The giant mascots were good
I will throw in a recent one into the ring and say the Death Note one is mostly decent, just wasted opportunity killing randos instead of other anime styled simpsons characters.

Last year's was surprisingly solid overall. The Babadook parody was actually scary at points.
lot of the S20+ episodes generally would be classics if they'd happened between s3-s9
the one with the bob's burger camo was spooky
>Don't worry kids, I'm comin ta rescue the lot of you. I'm AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! Ach, I'm bad at this.
Shinning will always be the best segment.
Don't you mean the Shining?
Shhh! Ya wanna get sued?!

>"Marge, the doll's trying to kill me and the toaster's been laughin' at me!"
The one where Homer survives the nukes and it shows the family all hitting a baseball except for Marge kek
>Little Bart
>Little Lisa
>Little Marge
>...AND THE REST!
"Quoth the Raven: 'Eat my shorts!'" has been stuck in my head since that episode first aired.
>Hmm... abortions for some, miniature American flags for others
The Raven. I just really like how it was done while staying faithful to the poem.
One of Dan's more underrated performances, really. Especially this part, where he seamlessly goes from a genuinely emotional read to "annoyed Homer" on the line "Take thy beak from out my heart and take thy form from off my door!"
Nevermore.

At least Lisa got killed multiple times in a recent segment
I don't want any zombie turkeys. I don't want to turn into a turkey myself and I don't want any other weird surprises. You got it!?
>Otto, you gotta do something! There's a gremlin on the side of the bus!
Maybe it’s the holiday spirit, but I think the TOH’s stayed consistently great until season 16-ish. The Island of Dr Hibbert would be in my top 10.
>In the jungle, the quiet jungle
>HOMER RIDES A FREAK
I thought it was the Creepy jungle.
I’ve never watched The Simpsons.
>No TV no beer makes Homer something something
>Go crazy?
>DON'T MIND IF I DO
>3D land
>homer clones
>tv remote
The last halloween episode I saw was making joke on the happy birthday to you movie but it felt just dull
