>flops in your path
This is going to be fricking brutal, I wonder if anyone at Disney is finally going to be fired. This was supposed to be a triumphant return to form for them and it might not even break even.

Why do you care so much about this movie then?
Seriously, every time one of these happens its constant wall to wall beating a dead horse for weeks. What's the point?
fpfp
OP isn't even trying
I take delight in the misery of my enemies.
This website runs on spite. This board runs on spite. These threads get the most posts because anons run on spite. Whether it's being angry at stuff or feeling validated when stuff they don't like fails, people will flock to it like flies to shit.
And when they see you liking something they don't?
I would argue this is more indicative of human nature as a whole than just Cinemaphile. We as people like seeing big things crumble. It's cathartic.
Also it's a bit unfair. People are angry because we wanted something to enjoy. There are is just so much spite nowadays, because we get less and less to enjoy, and no one listens and just excuse the complains with "you're just haters".
We WANT to enjoy the latest disney princess musical movie, but they make it very very hard for us to do so
It's fun to watch a train-wreck
Lmao be quiet shills or I'll truth bomb about how the "villainy" is inspired by my teenage self seeking to create a meritocracy in animation, which would ruin their careers that turned out so disappointing
Did you send a letter to Disney today, guy?
I just need something to hate. I don't know why.
It’s fun to watch a corrupt multibillion dollar company trip headfirst into shit
>Why
Because frick Disney and frick you, that's why.
I think we should call you Wishschizo beacuse you keep making the same shit thread.
Saw the movie is harmless just for kids, the only people shitting are people who are spoiled by movies like Spiderverse
It's not harmless for kids, especially little girls.
That's his wife of decades, knowing that he'd been corrupted by evil magic.
Jennifer Lee need to lose her say on stories if she isn't sacked. WiR2 contradicted the first film, Frozen 2 made no sense (the writers even admitted they didn't know what the voice was) and Wish is a mess because the story was designed around two villains
Poor fool
Here's the full scene btw for anyone who hasn't seen it yet ignore the moronic tiktok music
>he's so pathetic omg
Are all nuDisney fans sociopaths?
It's not just Disney fans, movies with completely backwards morals like this where you're supposed to support something dubious only because the movie tells you so are very prevalent in media, they're always mixed with other movies with good morals and nobody ever seems to care about this impossible mix.
It's about control, simple as. The powers that be don't want people to make moral judgements of their own, everyone is simply supposed to agree with what they're told, and movies like this are the medium to spread the idea that you don't have to think because you might be wrong, you must merely agree with the narrative.
You have a particularly good example of how this is used with the two ongoing wars right now. When Russia bombed Ukraine, the TV would permanently remind you that murdering civilians is wrong. Now that Israel is bombing civilians, it's all about justifying it. It's not that you have to judge the fact of murdering civilians differently now, it's that you're not supposed to judge any fact by yourself ever, you only have to think what your government tells you to think.
This movie is just particularly bad at hiding its purpose, or it came out at a particularly bad time, or both, but it's far from being the only movie that literally asks you not to feel empathy for the designed enemy.
The shills are feisty tonight.
This must be a major sore spot for Disney.
>the only people shitting are people who are spoiled by movies like Spiderverse
So it is a bad movie?
lel
I realized this yesterday, the tagline for this movie is: "Be careful what you wish for"
And you know who is saying this? The king.
>Be careful what you wish for"
Does this idea even come into play? No wish in this movie is presented as a bad thing
When Asha goes back to the castle and Star grants random wishes inside the study room, the scissors and the eyeglass start destroying and burning everything. Meanwhile, the king is being all paranoid and stuff, telling the citizens how there's a traitor and how magic is dangerous. Ugh, he deserves to rot eternally in a tiny mirror.
>Magnifico's "wish" was to have a home to protect
>He ends up in a mirror because of his people
Damn bro...
The star is already shelfwarming
>Magnifiplush has a chance of winning
No way
I heard that it is already being sold at discount.
Healing would also cause Disney being called ableist or whatever.
Holy shit, they killed star-boy to sell plushies and end up earning more from the Magnifico one? That's so perfect, bros.
OH NO NO NO NO AHA HA HA HA HA HA
it's been out two days. let's wait for the weekend totals before we start gloating.
12 million for 2 days on a disney movie of that budget is absolutely abysmal mouseshill
waiting for weekend totals is shilling? who knew.
Not really, it had a lot of pre screenings
The movie to me seems like it's very obviously harkening back to very early Disney with the simplicity of movies like Snow White and Cinderella. I thought it did a great job paying homage to those movies even if we're spoiled by fantastic modern animated movies. People have been b***hing about modern Disney being woke shit, predictable twist villains and generational family trauma, but now they're b***hing about Disney going way the frick back to their super original movie style. homosexuals can never be happy.
>but now they're b***hing about Disney going way the frick back to their super original movie style. homosexuals can never be happy.
no, they are b***hing about it being boring, derivative and generic
>but now they're b***hing about Disney going way the frick back to their super original movie style
Lmao
Also are you seriously saying this movie isn't trying to be woke?
Frick shills, man.
The thing people are b***hing about isn't that it's generic or "back to basics" or anything, most people seem to agree that was a good idea.
The problem is they did a titanically shit job to such a fricking degree that even before you get into the details of the dialogue or the song quality, the plot is, straight up, "the villain wins" because the writers were actually that fricking moronic and ended up creating a scenario that I can only compare to fricking RWBY with Ironwood, where a character is repeatedly stabbed in the back by a moronic b***h who promptly destroys everything he's trying to save but the narrative frames it as a good thing without actually *making* it a good thing beyond a handwave.
Also, they missed the chance of showing the mom's wish as wanting her husband to be healed. Then miss "my-dad-died-when-I-was-twelve" would've looked more sympathetic going against the king for not granting all wishes.
I though that's what they were going to do when Magnifico and Asha shared their tragic pasts. But all we got was a fricking blue orb for the mom. Holy shit, they showed a guy climbing a fricking mountain, a dude rowing a boat, a chick flapping her arms like a stupid bird and they didn't give a shit about the MC's MOTHER.
Yeah, they went full traditional Disney with that one.
The dad being sicked and mom wishing for her husband to be healed is something he would want, after all it would mean one more productive member of his society helping out in the kingdom.
But since that never happened, means the mom never wished for her husband to be healed just like how the cripple never wished to be able to walk.
That is the problem with (semi) omnipotence in stories, you will eventually run into plotholes that make the characters look like complete morons if not outright evil
It is nothing like the previous movies, the tropes are all wrong.
They even did the opening book wrong
Actual shill bot post.
Mouseshills won't even be able to blame lack of marketing
>those moronic "shared universe confirmed" ending leaks that read like a low-effort shitpost were real
>Every post under Magnifico on twitter is just straight up gay porn
Well at least they did something right, not sure how it's going to make them money though
Did you see Frozen's merch back in the day
The movie is good, and it's doing well. You should consider killing yourself
(you)
>This is the woman whose brilliant idea for Frozen 2 was killing off Elsa to make the entire franchise about Anna the character girls don't care about.
That is pants on the head moronic shit. Did she really?
You'd think Disney would pull Jennifer Lee away from future Frozen projects just for the mere suggestion of killing off Elsa.
Why trust the franchise in the hands of someone waving that kind of red flag?
>You'd think Disney would pull Jennifer Lee away from future Frozen projects just for the mere suggestion of killing off Elsa.
>Why trust the franchise in the hands of someone waving that kind of red flag
Yes, Jennifer Lee treats Anna as her self insert effectively. So she's disappointed the magical sister character who can use her magic to make pretty dresses is the one girls love. Goes without saying but Disney's executives pulled rank and ordered Jennifer Lee to obey as it will never be permitted for Elsa to be killed off.
So you admit people love Elsa for shallow reasons(her magic and beauty), rather than her prim and proper personality? That's so sad.
when was the last time someone touched your penis anon?
My uncle touches it every night
Good for you, I hope he's skillful at it.
>non-white characters
Okay sure they went middle-ground this time with vaguely Hispanic / Indian, but don’t little girls (and their parents for that matter) want to see white characters instead? Most people aren’t invested enough into ID activism to translate it into sales success. Ie, you can praise it on Twitter but if you’re not going to buy tickets to go see it than the activism is commercially worthless. The common-sense argument is wouldn’t non-whites want to see non-whites in the cast — but that’s just an excuse for the activism because the real common-sense is that everyone, including non-whites, want to see white characters due to colorism, ie, light-skinned is always more attractive to humans for some reason.
>Don't they want to see white characters for the 5,000th time?
Yeah.
I mean don't black girls get tired of seeing black characters for the 5000th time?
Set it in fricking Africa, then. Not in medieval not-Spain.
Explain the success of Encanto then
Encanto flopped where it actually mattered, at the box office. Being a success on streaming is meaningless because streaming is terrible for monetizing new content.
>Encanto: a positive movie about Hispanic’s and their culture
>Wish: a negative movie about a black girl shitting on Hispanic’s and their culture
Hmmm…..
>even disney princess films are flopping
honestly Disney is just doomed no way they don't file for bankruptcy within the next couple years.
Disney has so much debt I doubt anyone would actually want to buy them wholesale just carve off the IP they desire the Disney brand has been so devalued at this point it wouldn't even be worth holding onto anyway.
How would you change the movie to make it good, anons?
make star a twink like in the concept art and make him asha's love interest
sounds like Luceafărul by Eminescu
except that ends with him asking the Demiurge to make him mortal so he can be with the girl, but while he's doing that the girl is busy cucking him with some random, so he tells her to frick off and stays immortal
imagine if disney, with their classic way of downplaying tragic fairy tales, decides to adapt this
Isn't it more of less the ending of Hercules?
Basically just use the scrapped ideas
>Younger Magnifico
>Villian duo (Mag and Amaya) vs Hero Duo (Human Star and Asha)
Btw the ending attempts to tie every
other canon Disney movie together in
a shared universe. Asha becomes the
Fairy Godmother. The King becomes
the Magic Mirror from Snow White.
Star becomes THE star from
Pinocchio. The comic relief goat says he's going to found Zootopia. Groan.
No, no, they're also backpedalling from that. Now they're all just references.
>The comic relief goat says he's going to found Zootopia.
That's stupid, I like it.
Remove Jennifer Lee.
>Remove Jennifer Lee.
Someone needs to make a petition to remove her. She and thousand others are responsible for Disney's downfall.
>The only way Jennifer Lee gets her shitty self fired is if she ruins Frozen. So if she makes Frozen 3 and 4 and those movies under perform she's finished. Frozen was the last mega hit that Disney truly had that sold merchandise. If Jennifer Lee damages the Frozen brand that's something not even Iger can forgive. Frozen is THAT important to Disney that if it's crippled Jennifer Lee is fired. This is the woman whose brilliant idea for Frozen 2 was killing off Elsa to make the entire franchise about Anna the character girls don't care about.
The problem however is imagine Jennifer Lee fired. Who is to say her replacement would be any good? Disney is full of Leftist activists to the point Jennifer Lee is simply one of them. You would need to fire thousands and gate keep the important positions like the current one Jennifer Lee has.
The reason why no one cares about Anna is because Lee keeps shoving her stupid, unattractive self-insert in people's faces in order to force people to love her. She's not being subtle here. If she wanted Anna to shine as much as Elsa, why doesn't she bother giving her a strikingly beautiful design? I'm not saying she has to have sparkles or anything but she needs a more appropriate color scheme that fits her character. Green and red hair makes her look Celtic rather than Scandinavian. It's so sad people didn't bother to take her nationality into thought when they designed her.
Byron Howard is pretty much the only good talent left at WDAS. He should have been CCO in the first place.
>Byron Howard is pretty much the only good talent left at WDAS. He should have been CCO in the first place.
You realize I'm ranting about how Lee ruined Anna right? How would Byron Howard have handled Anna in the first place to make her marketable as Elsa?
Byron Howard and Jared Bush, you mean. It’s no coincidence that they’ve made the only good WDAS movies in the last eight years.
Disney hasn't cared about money in a long time.
Anyone in those megacorps doesn't care about profit. Money isn't real.
Imagine if it turns out Disney is playing the long game and already has plans to make Wish 2: Magnifico Was Right
I want a fallen heroine song sung by Asha to the tune of "When you wish upon a star"
>"And that is my backstory about how greed led to the destruction of my home. And why I care so deeply to protect you, this kingdom, and all who live here."
>"Yeah cool. Can you grant my grandpa's wish now?"
I like it when bad high budget movies flop.
Asha would 100% lie to Genie about wishing for his freedom.
>Uses her first two wishes on random crap.
>Asks Genie then what he'd wish for the third.
>Genie tells her, she promises to free him, then Genie randomly goes evil and tries to kill her so she melts his lamp and he explodes but not before she wishes for all the magic in the world, "to help others."
>"What would you wish for?
>"Me? No one’s ever asked me that before. Well, in my case, ah, forget it."
>"What? No, tell me!"
>"Freedom."
>"You're a prisoner?"
>"It’s all part-and-parcel, the whole gen-
>"Ah, you probably deserved it! Now for my first wish!
none of my nephews are talking about this movie lol
I don't care that it is bad, because I am not a 8 year old girl and do not watch Disney movies. I find it embarrasing when I see 30 year old dudes having an opinion on this shit other than "I don't care because I am not going to watch it"
I care because I don't want my kids watching shitty movies. Now frick off, shill.
You don't have kids, you are some autistic dude on Cinemaphile on early saturday morning hounding a bad movie thread.
Why didn't they show once upon a studio before the movie started? That would've scored some brownie points.
Wait, if Asha became the fairy godmother, doesn't that mean that she got her ass kicked by Anastasia from Cinderella? Some nobodies just took her magic from her and used it to utterly frick with the timestream?
Magnifico was fricking right.
And don't forget how star's magic make plants sentient
Wait, for real?
Magnifiplush already sold out?
It's likely just made up info. Hard to see it being sold out before the literal marketing star plush.
I don't have Magnifico's sales, but the star is already shelfwarming.
>Disney hasn't made money on an an animated movie since Frozen 2
LOL
>Triumphant return to form
>Metzger
lol
lmao
