I have no idea if I like this or not. It seems like it should be funny and also comfy. But I can't watch it for anymore than a couple minutes. Seems so boring and very fricking unfunny.
Maybe it's a British thing? That only they appreciate it?
I don't know. Aren't they all the same? I know if one called chicken run, and there's something else which has Helena Bonham Carter in it. Im not sure what I have seen and don't know enough about the franchise to distinguish any of the different shows.
The one in the OP is the first production.
Aardman made several Wallace and Gromits, and stand alone films like Chicken Run which was The Great Escape with hens.
The W&G shows are great, maybe not so much tnr first. Watch the penguin one
>Watch the penguin one
Awesome. I will check it out. Thanks for the recommendation

But I was a kid. I was the target audience. Maybe it really was more a British kid thing.

Kek. Thank you sir may I have another?
Give it another shot, but it could well be a British thing it plays into the rural(ish) characters and settings that most British kids would be familiar with, and it adds a certain funniness to the adventure.
I think there's enough charm there to enjoy it without that though.
>Maybe it's a British thing? That only they appreciate it?
You probably pirated it. you are supposed to exclusively watch wallace and gromit at a museum or at your nan's house
As an American who just watched most of the series a few months ago, Wallace is just an inherently funny character. He has a silly voice and design and has a fixation on crackers. The second film with the penguin was underwhelming, I'll give you that, but sometimes a character is just inherently amusing without even being particularly funny.
Isn't he supposed to be an oven? My Dad said my Grandma used to have a coin operated oven rather than have a gas meter installed, since it was cheaper and that was the only gas operated device in the house. A guy from the gas board went round every week to empty all the coins out from each cooker on a set group of streets
The technical achievement of Preston's animation is impressive enough to warrant a higher score on its own, but you also have >unexpected pathos with Gromit in prison >actually effective horror sequences >a surprisingly melancholy ending where they can't be together
I don't think it's as good as The Wrong Trousers but A Close Shave is very, very good, a distinct second
The Curse of the Were Rabbit game is the best movie tie-in game I've ever played. It fleshes out the Wallace and Gromit setting in a very faithful way.
I had this DVD as a child and half the animations would scare the shit out of me
particularly
stop-motion in general has a very disconcerting feel about it it's miraculous that W&G has as much charm as it does

the second movie, "the wrong trousers" is the best one. just watch that.
the humour is inferred subtly rather than overtly explained like in burger comedy
>humour is inferred subtly
weird way to say it's not funny
Meathead moment
it’s for kids m8
Mutt moment
The answer is you are a meathead.
It is comfy and the cheese looks tasty.

I'm an American and I enjoyed it as a child. Maybe you were too moronic to find any humor or charm in it

what is some other cracker kino
CRACKERS DON'T MATTER
Why is there a vending machine on the moon?
So people have something to eat

When I was a kid I borrowed a lot of stop motion books from the local library and dreamt of making stop motion films
I never did any
This is the sign,Anon. Heal your inner child
its a certified classic, it showcase the potential of stop motion.
give me ur best villain in cinema history and why is it the penguin from the wallace and gromit
The CRACK, Gromit!
>Everybody knows the moon's made of CRACK
>unnecessarily unnerving music plays
the original wallace clay model does have a horror element to it, it'd work well for one of those ARG things.
it's even more scary when you consider the original models burned in a warehouse fire.
What's his surname?
&
is it weird as a child I always wanted to eat most of the stuff on screen in that movie?
maybe at least the crackers and moon cheese?
gromit we forgot the CRACKAS
I love this scene
nobody ever talks about how good the action sequences are in W&G
I'm sure there's some good documentaries where the animators explain how they filmed it all, going back a few years though so I couldn't name them
I like how Wallace is actually helpful in catching the penguin.
Wensleydale?
love wensleydale cheese with a bit of chutney
I think you'll find Darth Gromit will be more powerful than either of us
It's quite nice
the wrong trousers > a grand day out > the curse of the wererabbit > a close shave > a matter of loaf and death
Loaf and Death was average but it had some moments that made me chuckle.

Also sheep antics
This thing scared the shit out of me as a kid
>Preston is...a cyberdog
>A cyber-what?
>A robot!
*BANG*
kino
skillz

>Curse of the Were Rabbit
Just a comfy movie in general. God, I need to rewatch it. The final parts of the movie are so much fun.
I always watch it every October, truly one of the comfiest movies
i had that ps2 game. never did complete it. i think i got stuck in the sewer or something.
The CRACK Gromit
Hovris is the dog.
he should have brought his own water
agreed. Cheeky boy.
>*grumbling sounds*
I liked Aardman's darker side
Stage Fright and especially Babylon are pretty grim
I liked Rex the Runt
I had this DVD as a child and half the animations would scare the shit out of me

stop-motion in general has a very disconcerting feel about it it's miraculous that W&G has as much charm as it does
>GOING
>DOWN
I actually prefer Close Shave over Wrong Trousers
Gromit flying the plane is kino
For me, it's crackers and Dairylea
Can't believe Gromit was going to bomb Yorkshire
They had it coming.
Inshallah Gromit
Wallace And Gromit was pure claymation kino.
moon robot just wanted to ski 🙁
And ski he did.
I think the trilogy will be more up your alley...
Camembert?
While I think it has become a very stupid buzzword, Wallace & Gromit just oozes pure, distilled soul
NO CRACK?
The train scene will forever be cemented as pure kino
Stilton?
Gorgonzola?
parmasean?
i dont get it, was moon actually made out of cheese or wallace was eating ground whole time?
Yes
I don't know but I'm going to find out once I've built a rocket of my own
>YAYWR
