Have you committed body mutilation, yet?
nice b8 m8, I r8 this b8 a gr8 8/8, now please go dil8 and paint your g8 before it’s too l8, k8.
I'm proud of you anon. Have you chosen a new name yet?
what made this episode special is that it lacked everything that makes smiling friends special. if you say you like this, you're lying
Wrong reply?
yea it wasn't supposed to be a reply, but me throwing an opinion out there
That doesn't have anything to do with the thread topic, you stupid idiot.
well yeah you dont have friends.

this show is setting adult humor back a whole decade.
good
You mean when things were actually funny?
good god i hope so
good, let's undo the homosexualry that was Rick and Morty.
You say that like adult cartoon humor was good in the first place.
ok
someone explain why its good
It's all we got so we have to defend it
Home Movies did it best.
Who asked?
Get filtered, pleb
>not finding "normal words but cartoon characters" funny is getting filtered
the absolute state
It is funny actually
name one funny part in the episode
The whole episode is a joke that gets funnier. You don't need traditional jokes to make a person laugh
You didn't answer the question. You dragged out an opinion and said nothing just like that episode.
I still like Zach but I'm not going to defend that trash show of his.
I don't expect you to understand, and I don't want to explain why it's funny, that'll kill the humor. Although, half the joke is laughing at people's reactions to the episode
We understand it, moron. The problem is that the whole
>the joke is that there is no joke and it just goes on for a really long time
thing has been done to death already. It's trite. It's boring. Fricking Andy Kaufman, Tim and Eric, Lasagna Cat, Family Guy, and about half the things Adult Swim has produced in the last 10 years, have all driven that style of humor into the ground. This new Smiling Friends episode was clearly doing that same thing, but at this point, it's just lame and unimpressive. It certainly isn't funny. It's no longer fresh and revolutionary to "Totally frikkin troll the audience by just making everything really long and awkward lol xd"
>I don't want to explain why it's funny, that'll kill the humor
Could've just said "I can't answer the question" and it would be much more respectful than this cope
The only time i laughed watching this when i was thinking about how pissed Cinemaphile was about it, its fricking smiling friends did u homies expect fine art??
>"what part of it was funny"
>"uhh...you know.....all of it..."
it's funny because they affect uncomfortably familiar mannerisms that remind of us family vacation frickups
HEY I SAW YOU ACROSS DA AIRPORT ARE YOU A TOURIST
Alright one funny moment., ONE.
The seethe is the funny part
I laughed when they called the boss, who is usually super upbeat, and he just sounds confused and gives them zero advice at all
a potential solution would have been to book 1 room instead of 4 at an expensive hotel and just split it 4 ways, it wouldn't be super comfortable but I've had friends who have done similar things, the group were only there for a couple of days anyway based on their dialogue so they could have made it work
That part where Charlie realizes that Pim is serious and begins looking sad. The phone call scene where Pim tries subtly using it to make it seem like they all
made a mistake and Glep, Charlie, and Alan look pissed at him until Pim corrects himself
so many anons got filtered today. how disappointing Cinemaphile
I would have slept on the beach by day (under a parasol) and partied by night.
It's a few days anyway.
This wasn't even funny, just unpleasant
Was in a room with a few people watching it and it was just awkward silence the whole time
>watching smiling friends with friends
im not sharing that mega with anyone
I watched it high with friends in college, was pretty funny
Introducing the contrarian NPC - his only opinions are the opposite of what is popular, therefore he has no more free will than actual sheep
Claiming anyone that disagrees with you is a contrarian is egotistical as frick. You have shit tastes and you're autistic.
This was no different than any of the 700 overly long, drawn-out humorless "Conway Twitty" or "Peter attempts to move a beached whale with a forklift" Family Guy gags. Easily the worst Smiling Friends episode so far.
And don't even come at me with "You didn't get it. Filtered!" shit. Andy Kaufman's stuff was cut from the same cloth, but was fricking hilarious & revolutionary at the time. Now, that sort of thing is played out and trite.
>Easily the worst Smiling Friends episode so far.

I didn't know Zach transitioned, good for her
Damn, i really love that shirt on the right
maybe I should check out Multiversus after all
ugh he really needs to trim that scraggle
He could do better.
Despite being an e-celeb among autists, I kind of doubt it. He sounds like the most textbook example of a mouthbreathing nerd and girls aren't into that.
Yo is that a Wendy's truck in the back?
Zach looks like my friend from high school. Right down to the beard.
Honestly, it's so weird hearing both his and michael cusack's voices come out of each other. neither really look like what you'd expect them to
If he had a better nose and better facial hair he'd be a good-looking man.
he's got a gf and his funny and people like him and think he's cute

it was a shock seeing how Zach looks IRL. I always assumed he's a malformed tiny goblin man or something, or at least has a huge nose
Ok but honestly we need to ave a discussion about who was in the wrong. I feel like most of them are morons for not checking with Pim to see if he already booked the hotel rooms.
There seemed to be a lack of communication between all of them which means all of them are at fault, if they really did tell Pim it's mostly his fault but the others are at least somewhat culpable for not double checking.
Ok
Seriously why are zoomers so impressed by realism?
You see people cream their pants over the Boys for the same reason
>american animation
>dogshit
Imagine my shock :O
>not impressed
You think we care?
>50 replies and counting
Yeah
But relatability is funnier than jokes now! Why think too hard to write a good script when characters can just mutter "ah-ah-ah" "whuh-whuh-whuh" over each other as they have meta arguments over mundane things?
I know this site is against meta shit, but this was an obvious meta joke about how some people found their mundane conversations as entertaining, so they took it to its logical conclusion and made the whole episode a mundane conversation with zero comedy. I'm pretty sure they were not going for comedy here. It was like a deranged April Fool's joke on the audience.
thanks for pointing that out, we had no idea really
You don’t have to be such a bitter homosexual over a joke that went over your head samegay
Ohhh, now I get it! That honestly never even occurred to me. Hehe.
Frick off. Any idiot can just make a trash, shitpost episode of a show where "dude, like, nothing happens". That doesn't require any thought or talent. Unlike writing, you know, actual jokes or stories.
April Fool's jokes are supposed to be funny. The R&M one didn't need homosexuals defending it like some meta thing. Anybody could enjoy because it was trying to funny first and not solely some meta bait & switch.
>April Fool's jokes are supposed to be funny.
And comedy is supposed to be subjective. Keep pretending otherwise, though.
Did you seriously just resort to the "it's subjective" defense? Jesus, dude.
>comedy is supposed to be subjective
This phrase only comes up when a show, episode, movie, or stand up special isn't funny.
eight hour droive
Trying to actually tell jokes goes a longer way than trying to wink to the audience.
Zach constantly does this shit, he really thought that a terrible family guy episode is the peak of comedy.
You should learn to stop enjoying eating shit.
>he went out of his way to look up a random YT comment because ???
the seething is real
I watched 5 mins of it before I felt like I was being trolled
The episode itself wasn't supposed to be funny, it was an entirely bait and switch from the moment it was announced
Dude the characters stutter while talking this is the funniest shit ever
dude what if they made a whole series
with no jokes
>You just don't understand it!
>No, I get it. It's just not funny
>troonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroonytroony
Zoomers have such shallow rhetoric it's honestly disheartening
When did I say anything about understanding it?
When did I accuse anyone of being a troony?
You clearly don't get it though because the entire episode is making fun of the exact thing you are b***hing about. How are you this moronic.
Ok man. You win. Your humor is heckin superior to mine because you "get" Anti-Humor Subversive Awkward Drawn-Out Meta Joke #420813, and I "don't."
Correct. I'm glad you understand.
Now go back to watching Family Guy or whatever it is you people do and let the rest of us discuss proper animation.
Ok squirt. You're probably in your late teens or early 20s, and have only recently just discovered this brand of "subversive Anti-Humor" that Adult Swim seems to love. I'm probably about 10 years older than you, and believe me, I remember how it felt when I first discovered that style of humor years ago. I thought Andy Kaufman & Tim and Eric were the funniest things in the world. Anything that was "meta" or "trolled the audience" was inherently genius and hilarious. But I'm telling you, once you've seen it enough times like me, it's no longer all that funny or interesting. With age, you come to appreciate actual jokes and wit, which this was completely lacking in. I'm sure you'll understand some day.
Smiling Friends is not proper animation and Family is funnier then smiling Friends. Your sense of humor is bland and polished sjw shit
You guys keep saying you hate the seth McFarlan shit when the episode is a giant jab at that.
How? Family Guy has bad jokes, not non-jokes.
ironic family guy writing is still family guy writing
it's not even a jab it literally is it?
You're claiming you understand it yet still don't like it yet continue to just get it wrong and act like everyone else is being a snob for telling you your interpretation is wrong.
Holy shit dude, I get it. Everyone in this thread gets the joke. It's not nearly as clever, genius, or interesting as you think it is. And yes, I get that even this discussion that you & I are having, this arguing back and forth about whether or not it was funny, is exactly what they were going for. They want people to get rile up & start dissecting the humor of the episode. You're 100% right dude. Zach Hadel is a genius, dadaist provacateur, and "Smiling Friends Go to Brazil" is on the same level as when that guy put a urinal in an art gallery. Bravo Zach.
No I think they thought playing it 100% straight would be funniest
Sounds like he hit the nail on the head with you. I'm sure you like high guardian spice and craig of the creek.
No, I don't. I haven't watched an animated series on cable television in like 15 years
You sound really upset that someone didn't like this one episode
troony
>All cartoons must either be "ironic meta-humor subversive 4D Chess trolling the audience shows" or Gay Tumblr shit
Uh no. I just like it when comedy cartoons have actual jokes written in them.
So you're just going to ignore Cinemaphile liking the rest of the series just because people are calling the recent episode shit? That's the best narrative you could come up with?
Question for you all... I unironically think the episode would've been funnier if they just stopped arguing about the hotel & said, "Alright folks, while we try to figure out this predicament, here for your entertainment, Mr. Conway Twitty."
Then they just played the following in its entirety.
Would've unironically been a funnier execution of what they were going for.
that would have been... roughly the same amount as good I guess
Haha its funnier because its Family Guy then...?!
Can someone explain why psychicpebbles chose THIS of all things to make into a show? It's about the most generic idea I can possibly think of
He's genuinely creative and funny, this is low hanging fruit
I know he can do better, so why didn't he?
Are you talking about the show in general or this episode? I don't see how the show is generic.
It isn't exactly the first time that psychicpebbles has pulled this kind of subversion-of-expectations anti-joke thing.
Yeah, sort of his thing by this point. The divide is really just a matter of taste.
Why are you defending some dumb meta episode by saying Cinemaphile doesn't like the show? Do you think people are stupid and can't remember the board praising the series?
Quints confirm this episode to be a complete misfire.
Saying "episode not good" is still an opinion and not objectively true you gay
wasted quints
>You're a stupid hater if you don't like the same drawn out premise Seth McFarlane and cheap Netflix shows have already done for ages!
I was more impressed by how everything was done with absolutely no cuts.
Why? It's a cartoon. That's easy.
I feel like you'd have to be a moron not to see "they don't even leave the airport" coming from a mile away
This episode isn’t funny.
I challenge you to name a single example from a different show that did the same concept. You can’t. For that reason alone, this is a good episode.
Seinfeld's The Chinese Restaurant you zoomer
not animated
what episode?
>not animated
Irrelevent distinction.
While I think it's a good episode but Family Guy did it
Family Guy constantly does this kind of shit. It's hilarious that some anons are now at least pretending to enjoy the same thing because it's associated with their favorite eceleb.
I never pretended this scene wasn't funny as well
Why couldn’t they just do shit in Brazil? Frick just go to a rural area and have fun in cheaper region with hostels or low budget hotels
WOW, they are stumbling over their words! So realistic! It almost makes me feel like I have real friends!
Normal words but a big nose guy!
>LE SUBVERTING EXPECTATIONS
>LE REALISTIC DIALOGUE
Didn't they already do that in the Christmas episode?
What you're mocking is funny, I love the show, but it's not funny when the entire episode is just that.
I love Zach and Smiling Friends but I was disappointed at the bait and switch episode.
I guess if the intention was for me to be disappointed then great job as always?
You should learn to enjoy things gay
i liked it. never seen a better written or performed little farce that represents such a specific sliver of mediocre millennial life. a bit of pretentious shit if you want it too, nothing fancy just some classic ironies.
but then i do like gay theater trash.
and obviously the seething in this thread is part of the comedy
It's probably the favella monkeys being all mad because the special had barely anything to do with Brazil and you could literally replace it with any other country.
Which is ironic because the chimps were screeching about how "Brazil shouldn't just be used for other people's entertainment, and that it should be done with respect" and blah blah blah
Millenial life? How was it at all about millenials? It was just a bait and switch gag episode, stop trying to make it sound more profound than it is. Also, if you like good writing, maybe stop watching stuff on adult swim.
there's certainly universality, but there's also a specific way millennials today relate to each other, something unique to us in the same way that boomers or gen x were unique in that time of their lives. the cultural aspect. the way that interpersonal tension gets diffused, much less aggressively or flaccidly you might say, but also better natured, trying to understand your friend even though they screwed you, trying to step back and see that you fricked up too. and in the process just totally ignoring your surroundings and taking it for granted, or at least trying to wish it away. (this is not so unique though, but maybe a little more ironic as millennials believe they are more respectful and observant. and why go on a trip in the first place if you dislike foreign surroundings, etc. etc. etc.)
i just haven't had this itch scratched so specifically. the bait and switch is only the surface level of the joke, underneath it's still a good scene. i like it.
also should i trust your opinion on writing if you can't even spell "millennial"
WE WERE RIGHT THERE, MAN!
Yeah idk the episode was really weak. even if you consider it to be an april fools joke it is just not funny.
>it's okay when Home Movies does it
Is this Cinemaphile's very own chocolate cornet moment?
Do Americans really stutter that much or is it sort of a vocal way to mark a character's archetype?
we stutter when we're in an uncomfortable angry stressful situation with 3 people talking at once, yes
I just thought it was funny due to how grounded it was
The realistic frustration that the characters experience from the ordeal
The awkwardness of trying to handle the situation while flustered
The call with the usually zany boss where he gives really earnest realistic responses
Makes me laff
>"Realistic" episode
>They left without paying for the fries and the water
Yes water isn't free on Brazil
it was even worse than the episodes after the pilot. why would you even release this
Just reading half of this thread is so fricking cringe, why does everyone on this board has so many mental issues?
We still like and watch cartoons despite being adults so it's very likely we will also have some form of autism by default.
This episode was funny. You people have autism.
The real autists are all the anons debating about who was in the wrong and how to fix it
WHERE'S THE FRICKING MEGA
FUUUUUUUCK
OP I saw you from the catalog, are you a tourist?
underrated post
Boy, OneyPlays fans sure do get salty.
we get it anon you're mad and you've been samegayging in the thread
>wait, Zach's humor is Family Guy-lite?
>always has been
?t=694
Zach is extremely funny for the first month that you learn about him. After that, he gets a little old and you notice that most of his bits are just saying random things for laughs. Still though, he's funnier than Chris.
WHERE CAN I WATCH IT IN FULL
The episode that broke Cinemaphile
gimme dat mutha frickin mega link right now, SCUMBAG
I hate modern day "adult" tv shows
Have the people who are being filtered by this never watched Seinfeld/Curb or something
>NO BRO YOU DON'T GET IT YOU HAVE TO WATCH A SHOW FROM THIRTY FRICKING YEARS AGO TO PROPERLY UNDERSTAND THIS EPISODE
do you people even hear yourselves?
He wasn't assigning you homework, lad. You guys jerk off to cartoons all day and still don't know to critique them as an art form. It's the same with Cinemaphile.
to be fair, jerking off to some 10 year old cartoon girl and/or boy doesn't take any amount of critiquing skills.
Lines on paper have no "age"
Frick off
>atoms in the void have no "age"
moron
But they do have age, as many creators specifically give them ages in relation to the story that they are telling.
you're not jerking off to the lines themselves tho you fricking idiot, you're jerking off to the person that the lines are portraying
Seinfeld ended before I was born and I’ve still seen a good bit of it. There’s some good ones but it’s not my favorite, “studio audience” sitcoms are kinda cringe
Curb is actually hilarious though, check it out
Why do people suck its dick so hard?
I really enjoy watching these characters interact, that's part of the main draw of this show. You really are seething because there was nothing to jerk off to. This isn't Tim and Eric purple monkey dishwasher garbage, either.
The first few episodes got a few chuckles out of me but the characters are pretty forgettable and the show's concept isn't interesting. Does this show get entertaining and funny? Or is it like this throughout?
if this special is any indication it already jumped the shark
Well the issue is that I don't think it started out as particularly good. I wanted to like it but it's boring and kinda lifeless. I was expecting something more over the top.
but my internet friend Zach made it, you HAVE to like it
WHERE DID YOU GUYS EVEN WATCH THIS? IT'S NOT ON THE CARTOON WATCHING SITES I USE
episode sucked and wasnt even good ironically which is saying something, are zach and michael autistic?
You guys just cant enjoy things once normies find it popular
it not even popular with normies but it's obvious they want it to be, otherwise why would they chase the family guy audience?
>normies
Normal words, but a yellow guy!
Honestly it could have worked if they booked a room with two single beds in a fancy hotel and smuggled in Pim and Glep. Then Charlie and Alan could have one bed each, Pim could sleep at the foot of a bed on a chair while Glep could just use sleep atop the dresser
No, the joke is they build it up as "omg they're going to brazil it's a brazil themed special" and then they instantly go back home without exploring brazil
God how are you all so moronic?
Everyone got it you sperg, it simply wasn't good.
Honestly the episod's concept wasn't original or groundbreaking or even that good a bit of trolling, but I still enjoyed it cause it's kinda comfy just being around these characters doing basically nothing.
heated arguments and problems aren't comfy, are you autistic?
the fact that nothing happens and you can just listen in to their rational, realistic conversation until they come to a solution was kind of comfy actually
ITT: Zoomers out themselves as being underage without realizing it
the youngest zoomers are 25 anon
I appreciated how experimental this episode was, but I generally didn't like it,
How would you have made the episode, to make it good?
Make it an amusing misadventure that forced the gang to go back.
you mean like when the Simpsons went to Brazil?
Sure whatever. Simpsons already did everything. It's like saying something in Warhammer 40k will always beat something else in another property. That's probably true but move on.
please post a stream link

thank you
hasn't zach shat on family guy doing this shit before? a bit hypocritical that he complains about it, but immediately does this. i thought it was okay at first and then when i saw that the whole fricking thing was gonna just be that, i turned off the tv
No you don't get it, it's totally different because Pet- I mean Charlie is YELLOW.
>Cinemaphile hates anything that isn't generic wholesome kids show about being gay and brown and trans with waifus in it.
God, the board has fallen so low at this point just revoke r15 and bring back the ponies it couldn't possibly make the quality of blue boards worse
When will oneygays realize that newground animators were never actually good and need nostalgia for success? Take for example, Zach. He may have been funny and talent on the internet, it doesn’t really make him tv talented.
Anyone and everyone who has a problem with this episode has a stick up their ass. I will not debate, I will not backtrack, I am asserting my declaration as cold hard fricking fact and you can all suck my bent fricking chode.
Your c-tier comedy didn’t land Hadel. Get over yourself.
Chris o Neill and Zach Hadel are the biggest hacks in LA. They are cut from the same cloth as game grumps.
The anti-humor would work a lot better if the theoretical alternative is a funny comedy but as the other episodes demonstrate this show is mid at best, so what do they think they're holding over the audience?
Bottle episodes are never good. Easily the weakest episode.
