the whole "teeth are le bad" is one of the most perplexing forced meme I have ever heard about. It's literally baseless, and none of the excuse go farther than "it's just le bad" or "you are a bad person ok".
It's called aesthetics anon. You will never be able to get "it's just bad" out of something that is purely subjective. However the issue is that human teeth are small, even in babies, which we use as a basis for what we consider "cute", and in adult people, which we use as a basis for what we consider "attractive".
Only a few grotesque looking animals have large teeth. Thus these large buckteeth looking things hanging out just look plain ugly.
Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists was put to shame by its opening credits.
Though the film was so unpopular there's nothing on google images for it and the only youtube videos I could find were low quality pirates.
>Though the film was so unpopular there's nothing on google images for it and the only youtube videos I could find were low quality pirates.
Isn't it on Netflix?
It looks the exact same as the cgi models. And since the movie didn't had any quirky facial expressions, there wasn't even any uncanny valley shit going on.
How the frick was any aspect of Luca "safe"? It's a subdued low fantasy period piece released in the wacky fart jokes medium. I don't think you know what any word you just typed means, and are probably underage.
It was safe because they appropriated an obviously gay story and made it straight to appeal to the cishet demographic which is something they do a lot.
Cishets love gay stories, they just don’t like gay themselves. Think about shows like Falcon and The Winter Soldier, BBC Sherlock, Scrubs, or Psych, These are all shows with OBVIOUSLY romantic mlm relationships at the center yet the writers go out of their way to make sure you know the characters are "straight" so cishets wouldn't get uncomfortable.
>2 guys can not possibly have a relationship unless it's romantic and involves them fricking eachother.
You sound like you've never had a genuine friendship in your life and/or are literally autistic and don't understand the concept.

It's really shocking to learn how many people out there who don't have a very close friend who would do something like take a day off to drive them to the hospital or airport in an emergency. Just not a single person they could trust with anything in their life with no expectation for compensation. Like someone who would lie for them as a reference on their resume - someone who'd you trust to never frick you.
>they appropriated an obviously gay story and made it straight
The director said he based Luca on himself and Alberto on his best friend growing up, and wanted to make a movie about kids being kids. He only didn't come out and say "they're straight" because it would be a huge PR nightmare.
It was safe. It was the most standard kid buddy film I'd seen in ages. They sprinkled in the standard family doesn't understand me mixed with adventuring in a big new world that's not that big setting. It was so by the numbers it's actually kind of sickening. Anything that Luca does it has been done better elsewhere.
And no
It was safe because they appropriated an obviously gay story and made it straight to appeal to the cishet demographic which is something they do a lot.
you raging homosexual. This movie has literally no gay undertones. In fact I'm convinced marketing put out that "it's really a gay movie" rumor to get people talking about a film that is so boring that it needed anything to get people talking about because no one would otherwise.
Reminder that Luca spends all winter filling Giulia's holes in Genoa while Cuckberto has to sit around and wait for his only friend to remember he exists.
An overreliance on it has been, absolutely. Using a bit of CG in "Disney Renaissance" films looked good, and there definitely have been movies where it worked well. But it's become the default employed even when a 2D style would have worked far better.
I'm not even hating on what we got when I say this feels miles better. We've really gotten stuck on the idea that 3D is always better, but very often you can convey a "feel" better in 2D.
Threadly reminder that in early drafts Luca was going to have a crush on Giulia which led to conflict with Alberto, but it was resolved by having it turn out she was evil.
Then they changed it to him having a crush but it was resolved by them working things out, without any "the cute and friendly girl's actually a b***h" twist.
Then they changed it to what we got, where she just was the person introducing him to the REAL surface world, and Alberto just got salty he couldn't monopolize his friend's time any more, but they worked it out in the end.
Anyone looking for gay stuff in the movie isn't just making shit up in their heads, they're projecting it onto a main character that was conceived as being into girls.
Although the original premise would have been better (didn't even finish the movie because it was so boring) it seems like evil Giulia would have ended up with more gay porn as the boys would "find each other" after the betrayal
>the original premise would have been better
Not really. "Two boys are friend, then one starts spending time with a girl, making the other boy feel lonely. Luckily it turns out the girl is evil, resolving the problems!" is a shit-tier story.
"The boys have to figure out a new way to approach their friendship" is better. Alberto no longer got to make up bullshit and get all of Luca's attention that way. May not be a great story, but it's better than the original one.
>Not really. "Two boys are friend, then one starts spending time with a girl, making the other boy feel lonely. Luckily it turns out the girl is evil, resolving the problems!" is a shit-tier story.
true.
They would've been far more successful if they'd gone with option 2 and let the kids have crushes. For all the people that were happy because they could headcanon whatever, in the end audiences would've found the movie more enjoyable with an actual clumsy-kids relationship in it.
But what the movie needed most of all was 2D art. It wanted to be slice of life like Ghibli without realizing that a big part of what sells Ghibli's "much like the modern world, but with a dash of fantasy" is the gorgeous 2D visuals.
A Bug's Life and Toy Story 2 (Pixar died for me when they stopped having hilarious outtakes)
Other than the teeth this looks great. Wish this was a 2D short or something

good explanation
Pirates in an Adventure with Scientists was put to shame by its opening credits.

Anon, are you okay?
>Though the film was so unpopular there's nothing on google images for it and the only youtube videos I could find were low quality pirates.
Isn't it on Netflix?
how is it mogged by this?
Well for one, they don't look fricking hideous
It looks the exact same as the cgi models. And since the movie didn't had any quirky facial expressions, there wasn't even any uncanny valley shit going on.
You are as blind as a bat
The hand drawn animation looks 20x better than the CG.
>the hand drawn detailed still images look better than animation
oh shit I wonder why
Because cg sucks
Because animators are uncreative homosexuals
They're not even that detailed.
I believe op mean the ending credits look better than the actual movie designs, which is true
Are they gay? Why they took with interfinger lock?
Is normal in America?
It is in some European countries.
God Luca just.... didn't suck but frick it was the most by the numbers, safe, and unoriginal film Pixar ever put out.
yeah Cars was truly a hallmark for the studio. It's all been downhill from there
Even Cars at least had things like the breasts flashing scene
Giulia doesn't have anything to flash.

That's insane
stfu mlm relationships are not simply hidden gey homosexual
>mlm
The term is Yaoi because that shit is a niche fetish including real life
>2 guys can not possibly have a relationship unless it's romantic and involves them fricking eachother.

This is satire, right?
>an obviously gay story
you really never had any male friends, did you?
>they appropriated an obviously gay story and made it straight
The director said he based Luca on himself and Alberto on his best friend growing up, and wanted to make a movie about kids being kids. He only didn't come out and say "they're straight" because it would be a huge PR nightmare.
That poor gay director made a whole movie about his childhood crush...

I preferred how the characters in Tangled looked in the 2D credits to how they looked in the 3D film.
do "I'm glad it's finally over" credits where even a simply white-font-on-black-background feels better than the rest of the fricking movie count?
Ah, I see someone else saw The Last Jedi!
I always preferred the art style of the Tangled end credits
>Have you ever seen a movie mogged by its own end credits?
PKMN all of these movies
I am sure
2D always looks better.
ALWAYS.
>Liguria
Yes.
>imagine not being a tuscan
BH6 credits. Even the TV show butchers the art style.
Reminder that Luca spends all winter filling Giulia's holes in Genoa while Cuckberto has to sit around and wait for his only friend to remember he exists.
Finally, a realistic lesson from Pixar
>He spends all winter in her from smelling her heavy musk.
Lucky
Concept art is a strange thing to some peopole.
After Arcane, there's no excuse for not being able to match concept art
Dads with eyebrows covering tired eyes>Everyone else
CG animation has been a disaster for the western industry. If I want good looking western animation I have to wait for France to put something out.
i will say it has allowed a lot of shit movies to get made. I've seen tons of movies that were obviously just asset flips.
>CG animation has been a disaster for the western industry.
Not really.

I wonder if anyone ever drew one of the boys eating Giulia out with her pussy juice turning their faces into their fish versions
...Goddammit sometimes you coomers have good ideas
I'm not even hating on what we got when I say this feels miles better. We've really gotten stuck on the idea that 3D is always better, but very often you can convey a "feel" better in 2D.
I've seen a film mogged by its own intro.

One for the pederast footgays huh?
