I don't get why people like him so much. Just because the movie characters say he's cool like 20 times on screen doesn't mean he actually is.
His animation style was pretty good, but that's about it for me.

He's the only Spiderman who openly rejects Miguel's ideology and is a bro to Miles as soon as they meet, plus he has a few funny lines
Plus he actually gets shit done since him stealing the parts to build a new watch is the only reason Gwen can stage her resuce mission in the next film

        >Plus he actually gets shit done since him stealing the parts to build a new watch
Is that what he did? I was wondering how he got the watch to Gwen's dad when we saw him drop his own watch when he said he quit.

          Anonymous

Yeah, you can spot him stealing the parts during the scene where him, Miles and Gwen are on their way to Miguel's office
Also he quits through a portal so its possible he opened a portal to Gwen's world to get the jump on what would inevitably happen instead of just going back to his own

Sick, very cool. I wish I could see the movie again, there were so many tiny details and stuff I missed trying to keep up with it all.

        >He's the only Spiderman who openly rejects Miguel's ideology
Because the writers need only 1 spider person to standout. Makes no sense some others wouldn't oppose Miguel either.

          >Makes no sense some others wouldn't oppose Miguel either.
Because by the time they're enlisted in the Society, they've already had their canon event, so there's no need no "convince" anyone that it has to happen in a certain way. Prav was the outlier because Miles (also another outlier) intervened and changed things.
The problem, which I'm sure they'll tackle in the sequel, is the CANON in itself, not them trying to prevent it from happening.

The subtlety of his character, rebellious nature, and he's genuinely probably the most important character in the entire film. Also anti-establishment, etc.

Did he even cuck Miles? It's never made apparent if he likes Gwen as anything other than a friend, and he's always got Miles' back all the rest of the time.

They don't say it explicitly, since it's a PG kids movie, but they imply it very strongly, Miles clearly understands the implications of Gwen leaving her toothbrush at his place, and Gwen doesn't deny it or provide any alternate explanation, trying to simply change the subject.

Gwen is 18 in the original Spider-Verse (15 months older than Miles), and Across takes place a year and a half later, so Gwen is 19/20 herself at this point.

              >Gwen is 18 in the original Spider-Verse (15 months older than Miles)
The 15 months part is right but Miles is explicitly a sophomore in high school in Across. That means he is 15-16, so Gwen is around 16-17, MAYBE 18 but I don't think they would ship her with Miles in that case because people are stupid about that kind of thing.

                Anonymous

Gwen is 15 months older and Across takes place 16 months after the first movie, so Gwen is the same age in Into as Miles is in Across, i.e., in college application season. So...yeah, 17-18, and then 19-20 in Across.

She also would've been Spider-Woman for three and a half years, compared to just three for Hobie, so she actually might be a little older than him. She's certainly not too young to be dating him, though.

                >Gwen is the same age in Into as Miles is in Across, i.e., in college application season
Again, he's explicitly a sophomore. It's stated in the movie. Miles is 15-16.

Not sure he has the depth to be center stage, but he's perfect as a side character though. He worked really well in this story because he was undermining everything in the background and under everyone's noses, even the audience.
