So was this a retcon that ignored several movies or was it just another alternate timeline? At a certain point its hard to keep track of how many times man creates skynet so skynet can destroy the world so that the resistance can beat skynet so that skynet can make a last ditch attempt by time traveling a terminator just so it can happen again but slightly differently

Reese outright states in the first film that Skynet was on the verge of total defeat and the Terminator was a final Hail Mary attempt. Every sequel is essentially an alternate timeline.

Is there really an Alien:Isolation series on youtube? Last few days' threads made me go back to playing the game. Still stuck on San Cristobal medical facility. Damn it, it's hard to escape the heartrace.

      Anonymous

Yes, dude, it would take seconds to just search youtube. There's so much more game after Medical. But it really did turn up the scary factor there. Also, the youtube series is obviously not scary and missing a ton of gameplay so it just includes story points.

No, there is a lot of the cutscenes, but also footage showing her perform the events you play in the game. And there's a few additional scenes that weren't in the game like Amanda floating in space after Sevastopol is destroyed

Assuming you mean work as a director rather than literally a producer that means it’s: Don’t Breathe and The Girl in the Spider’s Web up against Kingdom of Heaven the director’s cut, American Gangster, Prometheus, The Counselor, The Martian, All the Money in the World, The Last Duel. Honestly, even some of Scott’s weakest efforts in that time like Robin Hood, Exodus, House of Gucci and Napoleon have more going for them.

Alien 3 and 4 were stinky, shitty, ass. There could have been six more cool Alien movies by this point if Alien 3 had been good instead of moronic. Alien 4 shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone since it's essentially a stupid cartoon that no one would ever want more of.

The plot hasn't been revealed. What is known is it takes place on a space station with two halves, Romulus and Remus. Based on the teaser trailer it looks like one half of the station is rundown and the other half is clean and upscale. My guess is the rundown part of the station is used as a test facility to observe aliens hunting humans, where humans are released in there and the scientists observe what happens but then there is a breach in the clean half of the station and the story goes from there.

Sounds like it could be a decent horror film, but one shouldn't get his hopes up too much. My issue with the franchise is simple: what is there left to do with the alien? Prometheus for all of its flaws at least tried something different and predator movies can plausibly set in different time periods. But the alien, when depicted just as this nasty space termite as Cameron did just isn't that interesting.

i heard that the alien from the first film was found floating in space in really beat up shape, maybe dead, dunno but it was used to make more aliens on the station
there was one alien comic that had a xeno survive deep space for a long time, it might have been the earth war series

He wants to work until he dies. Guy was born in 1937. Have to respect his ethic.

I haven't seen The Last Duel so maybe that is a good movie but the last Ridley Scott movies I thought were decent were The Martian released in 2015 and Body of Lies released in 2008. The last movies I thought were good were Kingdom of Heaven (2005) and Black Hawk Down (2001). And the last movie I thought was great was Gladiator (2000). He had a run of great movies starting with the Duelist in 1977, Alien in 1979, Bladerunner in 1982 and Legend in 1985. Someone Watch Over Me (1987) is forgettable, Black Rain (1989) had beautiful cinematography but the story was dumb. Thelma & Louis (1991) and 1492: Conquest of Paradise were both great and White Squall (1996) is a good boat movie. But most of his work in the last twenty five years has sucked. I expect Gladiator 2 will suck. He should take a hint and retire with dignity and promote younger directors he thinks are talented.

Last Duel was pretty good besides the hamfisted messaging with the girls perspective being the true one - but that sort of ruined the whole thing. The actual duel was pretty gripping.

It won't make the list of great films he directed, but like some of these, you can still clearly see the talent he has in them.
