When are they gonna start putting FEATHERS on this goddamn thing, COME ON. Let's pay attention to the scientists, mmkay?
So where the CGI face huggers in the trailer just placeholders or do they think people are that dumb?
bump
I believe his actual direct quote was “nearly” every creature is practical.
Still, I have very little faith that this won’t be a pile of shit regardless.
they don't respect the audience
and why should they? the audience for these turds have proven to be room temperature IQ for the last 40 years
>GUYS
>THIS TIME IT'S GON BE GUD
>THE DIRECTOR IS BACK
>THE SOUL IS BACK
>THE PRACTICAL FX ARE BACK
>THE POOPY MCPOOPY CHARACTER IS BACK
>THAT CELEBRITY WHO ACTED IN THE ORIGINAL IS BACK
>GUYS, IT'S LIKE THE ORIGINAL I SWEAR, COME SEE OUR MOVIE
Never. Frick them. Don't trust ANY sequel, prequel or whatever the frick to any franchise made before 1990s. Ghostbusters, Terminator, Alien, Predator, leave these alone, you c**t-fricking israelitelywood shits.
They have no male legacy characters to destroy, Alien is already feminist franchise how are they going to ruin it?
So was this a retcon that ignored several movies or was it just another alternate timeline? At a certain point its hard to keep track of how many times man creates skynet so skynet can destroy the world so that the resistance can beat skynet so that skynet can make a last ditch attempt by time traveling a terminator just so it can happen again but slightly differently
Reese outright states in the first film that Skynet was on the verge of total defeat and the Terminator was a final Hail Mary attempt. Every sequel is essentially an alternate timeline.
This was honestly better than Genisys.
>piss is better than shit
Christ you had to remind me feminist non binary terminator happened....
Yes people are that stupid.
Literally cgi face huggers in the trailer
for me the movie will be redeemed if we see moner naked
>Remember James Mongoloid making similar claims before Indy 5 came out?
I don't, actually.
Actors talking about the kewl practical effects to try to hype the latest goyslop is a common PR tactic now.
Will Fede do scenes in Romulus like this again to embody feminism once more? Stunning and brave

Is there really an Alien:Isolation series on youtube? Last few days' threads made me go back to playing the game. Still stuck on San Cristobal medical facility. Damn it, it's hard to escape the heartrace.
Yes, dude, it would take seconds to just search youtube. There's so much more game after Medical. But it really did turn up the scary factor there. Also, the youtube series is obviously not scary and missing a ton of gameplay so it just includes story points.
So it's the cutscenes combined?
No, there is a lot of the cutscenes, but also footage showing her perform the events you play in the game. And there's a few additional scenes that weren't in the game like Amanda floating in space after Sevastopol is destroyed
You have a lot of heart going past San Cristobal. I am surprised at myself I even reached it.
You know what won't be practical? The writing.
frick y'all this movie looks good and Fede Alvarez has produced more kino in the last ten years than Ridley Scott has in the last twenty.
Not really. Ridley has been making modern classic after modern classic and nobody even knows who this Hispanic is.
>
>Fede Alvarez has produced more kino in the last ten years than Ridley Scott has in the last twenty
Assuming you mean work as a director rather than literally a producer that means it’s: Don’t Breathe and The Girl in the Spider’s Web up against Kingdom of Heaven the director’s cut, American Gangster, Prometheus, The Counselor, The Martian, All the Money in the World, The Last Duel. Honestly, even some of Scott’s weakest efforts in that time like Robin Hood, Exodus, House of Gucci and Napoleon have more going for them.
but anon, why are his alien movies so shit?
Studio meddling on a script level for everything after 1986 certainly hasn’t helped. Frankly all the strongest things about his entries have been down to his work as a director.
So its gonna be The Thing (2011) all over again.
>Heard this shit before.
>The Thing (2011)
RIP all the original footage. Poor Mexican director.
Oh fricking spare me the thing 2011 was garbage with or without practical effects a stupid puppet robot doesn't make a shitty movie any better like how the nu star wars loved to brag about how much they were using practical effects
I hate these cursed ass franchises. Alien 1 & 2, Terminator 1 & 2, and Predator have got to be some of the most load-bearing movies in history with the amount of crap that their success supported.
>Alien 3, 4
Good
>Predador 2, Predators
Good
>Terminator 3
Okayish
Alien 3 and 4 were stinky, shitty, ass. There could have been six more cool Alien movies by this point if Alien 3 had been good instead of moronic. Alien 4 shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone since it's essentially a stupid cartoon that no one would ever want more of.
Ok plebbitor
He’s right though.
Will it have an adorable girl in it like Newt was in Aliens?
Remember when the Thing prequel was stated to have practical effects?
What's the plot this time? Will an alien outbreak happen on a spaceship and will Weyland-Yutani try to capture the xenomorph for their own purposes? Will an alien be blown out of an airlock?
The plot hasn't been revealed. What is known is it takes place on a space station with two halves, Romulus and Remus. Based on the teaser trailer it looks like one half of the station is rundown and the other half is clean and upscale. My guess is the rundown part of the station is used as a test facility to observe aliens hunting humans, where humans are released in there and the scientists observe what happens but then there is a breach in the clean half of the station and the story goes from there.
Sounds like it could be a decent horror film, but one shouldn't get his hopes up too much. My issue with the franchise is simple: what is there left to do with the alien? Prometheus for all of its flaws at least tried something different and predator movies can plausibly set in different time periods. But the alien, when depicted just as this nasty space termite as Cameron did just isn't that interesting.
You sound like the most insufferable person to be around.
ok moron
i heard that the alien from the first film was found floating in space in really beat up shape, maybe dead, dunno but it was used to make more aliens on the station
there was one alien comic that had a xeno survive deep space for a long time, it might have been the earth war series
i bet they frick up big chaps design
very unique look compared to other aliens in the series. im betting we get the alien isolation version
>im betting we get the alien isolation version
I hope so. It actually looks scary, menacing, inhuman, and unsettling, unlike the dorky, completely unscary, rubber suit man from Alien that they knew they couldn't show on camera for longer than a second or in light.
What he means is it was practical and then replaced with cgi.
ok, still not watching
every set and prop in endgame was practical too
>not even a sequel to covenant
this franchise has been cursed since alium 3
No one wants a sequel to that unrelated crap. Fans want more actual, real Alien stories.
I just want them to stop milking it.
that wasnt the point i was making
it just makes you think they have no faith in anybody working on these dumpster fires because they keep "starting over"
>real Alien stories
>an alien kills everyone on a ship, again
Whoa
I don’t know anyone by that name and your picture is in Spanish so I can’t read it.
Apologize
Frick that guy. He's the one who caused most of this. And he's saying just as many 'good' things about the new movie and tv show.
He should be sent to the director retirement home.
>retirement
dude's almost dead, the frick's retirement going to do? anyway, Gladiator II is going to be based
I haven't seen The Last Duel so maybe that is a good movie but the last Ridley Scott movies I thought were decent were The Martian released in 2015 and Body of Lies released in 2008. The last movies I thought were good were Kingdom of Heaven (2005) and Black Hawk Down (2001). And the last movie I thought was great was Gladiator (2000). He had a run of great movies starting with the Duelist in 1977, Alien in 1979, Bladerunner in 1982 and Legend in 1985. Someone Watch Over Me (1987) is forgettable, Black Rain (1989) had beautiful cinematography but the story was dumb. Thelma & Louis (1991) and 1492: Conquest of Paradise were both great and White Squall (1996) is a good boat movie. But most of his work in the last twenty five years has sucked. I expect Gladiator 2 will suck. He should take a hint and retire with dignity and promote younger directors he thinks are talented.
Last Duel was pretty good besides the hamfisted messaging with the girls perspective being the true one - but that sort of ruined the whole thing. The actual duel was pretty gripping.
It won't make the list of great films he directed, but like some of these, you can still clearly see the talent he has in them.
He wants to work until he dies. Guy was born in 1937. Have to respect his ethic.
Too kino for plebs.
gay robots
And?
just don't like em
why do people such as yourself confuse similar imagery for depth?
Define depth for me, midwit.
jesis
remember when resurrection and the avps were the cringy ones?
Yeah, sure.
I just want Raised by wolves to be continued
>James Mongoloid
>cailee and moner
I will now watch Zoomer Alien
>every creature gets a single practical model for one shot
>therefor every creature is practical
Sophistry horseshit
I just want a movie with some cool practical effects and set design, some creative kills and an underlying sense of tension. Is that too much to ask for?
Also clarification on the bonus situation
Prometheus looks pretty good right about now, doesn't it, you contrarian shits.
No, not really.
ridley chads stand up
Remember when they made that "The Thing" remake and they made all the monster-effects practical and then the studio for no reason at all just came in and told them to do it with CGI
All that matters is we get to see Moner's pert lips locked firmly around hot throbbing alien ovipositor. That's a damn good flick right there and you know it.
Are you certain that is Moner? It looks like the Asian woman who the facehugger attacks in the trailer.
Yes.
